do developers think glyph and rune droprates are in a good spot? it feels like i am mega overflowing on every crafting currency other than glyph of despair from like level80 usually(i like rarity of glyph of despair though). usually you are limited by currency in other games to craft. here it feels like the only 2 things that ever matter past like first 3-4 timelines are getting a base to glyph of despair and then the glyph itself.

I think they are in a generally pretty good spot overall. Having them be plentiful enough that you can use them while leveling but not like candy to the point where you don't need to give it a second thought any more to the rarer ones

what happens when i take 2 conversion nodes for one skill? warpath has a node that converts everything to void damage and time rot chance and says explicit that it converts ignite chance. it also has many nodes that increase ignite chance, but behind a fire conversion node. if i take both, can i profit from the +ignite node and from the conversion to void damage / time rot chance?
it only does 1, usually if one comes from an item, that one wins
can i manipulate which one it does? so that i can take the void conversion for warpath, ignore the fire conversion, but still get the ignite chance up?

In the smite tree there is a conversion from fire to lightning and then behind that it adds lightning strikes to smite. If you take the smite converted to void damage in VOid Knight the initial smite hit appears to do void damage but not the additional lightning strikes from the smite tree. Is this intended?
the priority is hard coded, void wins. it still applies the other stats granted, just only does 1 conversion

On the Marksman passive "Ethereal Arrows", it says: "Bow Mana Cost -> Increased Damage: 50% per Point". Does that mean any bow skill gets 50% increased damage per point of mana cost per passive point? Cause if I'm not mistaken that would mean that Cinder Strike with Overexertion would get 1,500% increased damage per passive point, up to 15,000% increased damage at 10 points, which sounds too insane to be true.

sorry, I don't think I was clear, we don't plan to have the concept of a "cycle mechanic" and "core mechanic". It will just be "mechanics".

But without Rapid Detonation that is how Mana Arrow works, a 15% chance. Rapid Detonation states that if the enemy has an arrow it in, the second arrow explodes the first.

i'm unsure here, this node means that with 3 points I'll have at most a 99% more multiplier for each blade? i.e. 18% per slow * 3 max slow = 54% and 45% max for bleed stacks so 54+45 = 99? is that right?
So it removes the first arrow, on impact, if it rolls the 85% chance to not explode and doesn't remain the .6 seconds? Is that intended? It's conflicting Rapid Explosion at that point.
The skill makes it seem like it attaches for .6 seconds and then has a chance to explode.
I'm not sure how it's doing it mechanically. That was just one way I would considering doing it. It isn't conflicting either way though. If you give the explosion a 15% chance to happen, it doesn't matter what the trigger is, it only happens 15% of the time.

each one is calculated individually so it's actually more because they are multiplicative with each other, not additive.

their reward options are rolled with the same values that the node you did was rolled with. On average, you will all get the same number of unique nodes because each time they get 2 rolls at it.

Yeah, I'll make a suggestion to have Rapid Detonation read more this Barrage in the fact it reduces the arming time of the first arrow and in fact does not make it exploded immediately.

very technically speaking, the ability decoy does get the buff, however that stat is useless to a skill which summons a minion, so the stat vanishes into thin air before the decoy is created.

after testing party play a bit, i would really want to hear from dev team, what is the point of party play? it seems scuffed so much.
- only party leader receives specific echo reward (that alone ended party play pretty much for me and friend after 30 min testing)
- inviting someone to join boss fight with you has some completely hidden and unclear requirements? if they do not have same\enough stability ? in same zone - they get no loot or blessing from boss

yes, everyone requires to have enough stability to get full timeline rewards
without these 2 systems in place, we immediately were faced with players making very degenerate optimization plans which causes major problems both design wise and under the hood. On top of that, we were immediately faced with massive bonuses to players who could have other people plan out a series of nodes for them to play. It was very bad. This is way better.

well, ill try to express impression a bit more clear
testing party play left feeling of online coop game, where there is host, progressing his campaign, or quests, and bot-like other members, being crowd\minions, not a full MP where all get equal benefits, and can start party play from eny point (like some other multiplayer games)
solo play is way way way more beneficial and profitable for progressing own character as party play, what just kills at least for me the point of it (if i am not a leader) - and thats same impression that mine friends got.

Dodge in Path of Exile uses an "Entropy System", where it gradually works toward you actually getting hit (i can link an in-depth explanation if needed).
Does Dodge in Last Epoch work the same way, or is it totally random based on your Dodge % in whatever zone level?

i actually had that question too. they do that so that its not so rng, like have 80% dodge rate but randomly eating 10 hits in a row sometime by pure rng and dying because of it
How to tell what is additive vs multiplicative ?
Eg:
- % void damage
- % damage while channeling
- % melee attack damage
For warpath, is this all added together or multiplied ?
each of those will either say increased or more.
increased is additive, more is multiplicative.

My char got bugged and the portal to the last refuge outskirts never opened, so I asked someone in chat to group with me so I could TP to them, as soon as I did the server kept sending me messages, of the actual coding function, which was very long in system chat, then I tried to take a SS, and it actually crashed.
I know thats not very helpful, but I did get the WP, so its all good lol ;p

oh, i remember -- do the small explosions from cluster bomb also apply toxic coating to the bees? ie. can you get 4 applications per flask? and will barrage/salvo make it shotgun, ie. can you apply from more than 1 flask per cast?

I acutally hope you all go above and beyond and implent training dummys, that will not only let you attack them, but give you information about the sources of damage to them etc etc, it would make a lot of people happy becuase you can actually test builds in game

kinda, certain things like exalted items don't start dropping until some point. We do have ways planning to modify the method by which you are hunting items

yes. just because that's how your totem gets damage. the stat stops being a minion stat once it's on a minion, then it's just a normal stat

Any plans on rethinking the exclusion of triggered skills from some passives that state if you cast a spell? Playing around with the harbinger of stars belt and half the passives i'd like to take to make it somehow workable are relying on selfcast.
physical pen applies to physical damage, when converted, warpath is not a physical skill, it is still a melee skill. if you add +10 physical melee damage from an affix that still benefits from physical penetration

I don't know if its intended or not, but the initial and returning void rift 'enemies take increased damage' effect seems to stack. Or maybe the 1st rift is the 'enemies take 60% increased dot' and the 2nd rift is 'enemies take 30% increased dmg.'

Hi, I have some question regard to base damage conversion. (I cannot find my answer from in-game guide)
I have read some thread discuss this area.
What I understand is; Suppose I have 100 base Phy damage (skill), 100% base physical damage convert to lightning damage, 10% increase lightning damage, 10% increase physical damage.
It will result in 110 lightning damage (because the 10% phys doesn't affect this since the skill tag changes from phys to lightning)
But when I actually test it, I equip a piece of gear with 10% increase physical damage, the tooltip damage goes up.
Does this mean the +%phys actually affect the conversion logic or the tooltip somehow show incorrect information?
(My setup is Lethal mirage with 2x Fulgurite)
pretty sure, also I think it will have an alt tooltip in the skill tree so you can see the tags
you've got it right, but if you are applying any physical damage through say and added physical melee damage affix on gear, the 10% increased physical damage will still apply to that.

is there a reason or insight behind why endgame content is character-specific versus account-specific? having a completely separate monolith/echo web/whatever grind for each character probably means just one character per cycle so i don't have to re-grind the whole thing numerous times

So my first question is a bit of a lore question. What are shards exactly? Are manifested physical pieces of magic? Moving a bit towards mechanics, but would we see timeline specific pieces of lore? Like some shards of some mystical enchantment that was done in that timeline? What about uniques that have to be forged from shards like in a special dungeon? I was wondering where else you'd take these shards down the line in development

Question about mage's skill Focus. If I take the node Shocking Aura, the less damage taken from shocked enemies applies only when channeling focus or all the time? For example I shock an enemy with my Static Orb. Will it deal less damage to me because of Shocking Aura?

How are the dmg ticks from dmg over time and healing over time done? Are they all on a global tick timer? Are they all added together prior to changing your health? Will you die if you have 100 Max Health, 40000 Healing over time/s and take 20000 damage over time/s?

It appears as though damage has a tick cadence but that's just how it's displayed, damage is actually constantly being done from many different sources. It all happens individually and in order. Healing and Damage over time effects are not combined and cancelled.
do you have a personal benchmark at which point you say a certain skill or interaction is too busted and needs adjustment or is it more about how smth performs compared to the average

not really, we look for standout builds that cause gameplay patters that are tedious and/or unhealthy. We look for builds that completely eclipse other options. For now in early access, it's much less tight.

Now that online is here, how do you feel about embracing character editing in offline? Offline could become what Path of Building is for PoE, only 10k times better since you can actually go and play a build you theory-crafted.

How does Wandering Spirits reveal rate/duration work? For example it says it reveals 13 spirits over 6 seconds. Is that ~2 per second (so increasing reveal rate through nodes like Thin Veil increases spirits spawned overall) or is that a flat 13 (so reveal rate just pops the 13 out sooner)? Also, there's a line "but all remaining spirits fade once the reveal duration ends" but they don't all just poof after 6 seconds as far as I can tell, so what does that line actually mean? Does a spirit spawned towards the end of the 6 second reveal not last its full duration?
I think it's a great idea, especially since getting actual numbers for things to theorycraft seems hard in this game

Last Epoch Tools at some point sported saving your build as a toon, but then got disabled since it's against EULA. But you can't really prevent someone going with the text editor and changing the stuff. So, like that Roman proverb: can't beat them - join them. ๐

But having very high amount of Minion Health Regen combined with the item Abberant Call, doesnt seem to do any for the life uptime of Wraiths, one would imagine they'd stay alive for longer, even with constant % of current health burn. Is this an intented mechanic to prevent permanent uptime on wraiths?

I'm getting quite exited about the offline mode being the testing ground for the builds. Combine that with a button in online 'make an offline copy' and you have a powerhouse of a feature, that will put Last Epoch miles ahead of the competition! Also when submitting bug reports, you can say please take a snapshot of your character by making an offline copy and exporting it. And then testers can actually import that toon and see the bug for themselves!

Follow up question to the 0 armor/resists. Why is it that I do less damage to (non-boss, non-rare, no "resists x") enemies in empowered monos than I do low level enemies or the training dummy?

I have seen a couple people unable to zoom out the whole way, this might be happening to you. We have no plans to increase the zoom distance.

make sure you're doing content where that item can drop from, get any relevant blessings to help boost it, increase your item rarity, go to the highest chance monolith timeline if applicable

Mike, is it true armor is meaningless once you have 100% block chance? Because all incoming damage would be reduced by block effectiveness only? Or do hits get reduced twice, once from block effectiveness, then once from armor?

Were hp values of early game monsters and how often elites appear buffed to have more early game friction? Didnt see anything related in the patch notes but it has feeled that way for 2 characters, is it just in my head?

dang - the Malj'Elkan catacombs has a section where there is no path to a chest and a nopath to a gold drop :/ (Like an invisible wall or something the game thinks is in the way)

you don't have a modifier item in the main slot (the big button tells you what's missing)
