@mint breach In Ruined Era, enter the Ruined College. Near the entrance, there is a rift that leads to Imperial Era where the college isn't ruined - Great College. Go in there and get the key/crest. Then walk back and take the rift back to Ruined Era, and the door should then be openable

It's been about 2 months, so you've probably got another 1-2 months at least. Possibly a bit longer. They haven't announced the next Season start date yet.

The Legendary items required level doesn't change when you combine them. So you can make absolutely disgusting leveling items for your Alts. There's also no level requirement for the end game, so you could have a friend warp you there at level 1. If you're playing offline or solo, you can use the dungeon skips to get into the end game more quickly. And you never have to complete the entire campaign. Although at some point you're going to want to go back and get the passive and idol unlocks.

Anyone know when the campaign will finally be finished? I've been holding out on returning since I like the story as much as I do the gameplay. Last I recall the campaign ended with that snake woman escaping and us reaching the End of Time in a manner which didn't resolve anything. We were then told to do monoliths, which doesn't have the same narrative pacing to it the way the campaign did. Any timeline on when we can expect a definite conclusion to the story itself and beat the big bad?

I don't necessarily blame them, it's a fantastic enough game with an excellent gameplay loop that I can see why they went Path of Exile style with all these seasons I keep seeing. In fact, I feel a majority of the player base is about that sort of gameplay anyways.

That being said, it would be nice to get a finished campaign where we finally beat Orobyss (I assume they're the big bad). This game's development seems really expensive anyways.

Compared to an ARPG like Grim Dawn where the graphics and gameplay don't look as monstrously expensive to produce, I can understand them needing money and prioritizing live-service. Grim Dawn on the other hand can afford to interweave lore, story, gameplay and campaign all in one because the graphics are simpler and the gameplay not as cutting edge for an ARPG.

I mean... have you seen the graphics and detail for a singular enemy in this game? The amount of development that has to go into making even a single one of those crisp HD enemies seems titanic. Way more work than it would for the devs of a simpler ARPG who could likely finish multiple enemies and entire regions for that amount of effort.

It was? I remember the old days before we had cosmetic supporter packs and when the game was real early in its development and there were no seasons at all. I didn't think it was outright broadcast at the time, but I entirely understand why it's going the way it is. It's just too AAA of an ARPG to continue without live service cash flow.

Still, I don't really play this game anymore (and this is not at all a knock on the game because it's fantastic), so what do I know? Frankly, I feel that plebeian opinions like mine or people who are salty about the direction are speaking from an armchair. They've gone live service because it works and it's the best decision for them. What do we know about what goes on behind their closed doors?

Enforcement of rules and punishments that follow aren't made public so it can be hard at times to tell if someone got repercussions for breaking the rules. It's also not black and white in all instances, the clown emote is a fairly straight forward one most of the time, but disagreements and even snide remarks can be much more of an "on the fence" type issue where we try issuing warnings and moving the conversation along before resorting to action.

Krafton doing something doesn't mean they'll force their subsidiaries (ehg) to do the same, I'd wait and see before saying they'll do something when we have no confirmation or knowledge of what they're even actually doing, the article is pretty vague and pretty much just said they're working on new AI tools and maybe replacing some middle management type roles with automated (AI) systems. The rest is basically just filler. I'm not saying this is great and amazing and there's nothing to be worried about. I don't know what the situation was, if EHG needed money badly to survive, or they were getting that bag (I saw a 96mil figure quoted on a krafton acquisition article) but reguardless, I'm indifferent to this news, supposedly this gives them more resources and agency to create the game they want to create, but I've seen several seasons in a row where the competitive platform just does not exist at all or is not worth playing, race or competition or ladder (the only things I was interested in) simply does not exist, and the recent season seems to be that they shifted to further 'casualizing' the game into a loot zerg that does not even last 2 weeks unfortunately. Kind of a shame but I don't even play this game much anymore for obvious reasons (no reason to compete, if i am competing then im playing reflect build or earthquake bear pet and it consists of building 100% block, hiding around a corner or holding down rebuke, zero skill based gameplay existing or u get 1shot when you try to do that)

Also they got questioned on their unique design, like the embers amulet that doesen't even inherit skill trees so its completely worthless across the board, they still doubled down and said its supposed to be like that shrug .... Also the beast amulet that gives good stats, but summons a beast that's only purpose is to bodyblock, cause screen clutter and block vision of your gameplay regularly as it does zero damage on every non-minion build? Lol. I couldn't wait to find a way to remove that thing and I actually spec'd my lich into potion deleting minion tech to unsummon it everytime. Talk about negative item design lol

the golden days were in beta EA before release, when we had arena tournaments and skill based thing like turbo sentinel existed, now those things are gone, no reason for competiiton unless you want to play the game in ULTRA WIDE RESOULTION can see things 3 screens away from you + play a build that has offscreening potential (tornado) and also spamming warcry for perma uptime immortality buff (HAHAHAHAHHA)... or you can play bear and hide behind a pillar while the bear hits things with FOREIGN COUNTRY TELEPHONE NUMBER damage numbers (hahaha).... or you can play reflect build and auto kill everything and then every other stat and skill point goes into defense and ur gonna hold down rebuke.

Deviate from anything type of above build and try to be 'skilled' gameplay? Like a fireball sorc/RM or melee spellblade / turbo sentinel? Get your face blown off and 1shot with no counterplay Gg noobs

I think the scope of them creating/adding game grew far too big for them (past the point when they created runemaster) and they ran out of room to do any sort of balancing or creating a platform that people care about competining on tbh, and now they're like, 'oh its too many small changes to balance things' . Yeah sorcerer had 0.01% playrate last patch. Patch notes for new patch: no changes to sorcerer (AHAHA) but we made these tiny value changes to a bunch of runemaster invocations that won't affect anyone!!! (HAHAHHAHA) RIP. New patch: Sorc playrate 0.02% playrate. good one

They should have been looking at things that were in the game that were good and healthy for the game, and retaining and improving them. Like the turbo sentinel archeotype that was very well gated by player skill cap and had nothing wrong with it. Instead of their clown approach of nerfing 'bringing everything into line' from the top down which I have been criticising for years which only results in permanetly lost builds and archeotypes (EQ werebear, glacier sorc, turbo sentinel, all gone archeotypes now)

And the zero changes or (buff) adjustments for the underplayed skills since forever

Instead we got additions to the game nobody asked for, like the beast amulet that summons bodyblocking screen clutter pet that gets you death more often than helps because you can't see anything anymore, or the reflect shield that probably nobody tested which basically turns you godmode, a million unique items nobody cared about or used, all of that development time could have been put into proper adjusting numbers on shit skills and we would have had new builds pop up or a healthy meta. they put all their design time into the new 'prehistoric' uniques that most people didn't even bothered touching for the entire season

But apparently they don't care about 'meta', they care about FUN.... FUN for me is having a platform to compete and measure myself up against other players. This does not exist because we have nothing to compete on, no corruption ladder, arena balance is a joke not worth trying to complete, no race event no nothing. nobody hosting tournaments anymore because it sucks to all play reflect or bear build. nobody bothering with team arena ladders either. no incentive to try compete anywhere.

Because ARPG's in general have the dilemma where some people like trading and others don't. But in games like poe you feel like you're forced to trade or be in a disadvantage since you don't get anything for not trading. So in LE they made the faction system so if you don't want to trade you can pick the circle of fortune and get increased drops as compensation for not being able to trade basically

Yeah devs didn't want that happening in LE. You can only list items without an item faction requirement on them on the Bazaar. And when the item is bought/sold on the Bazaar it gets a requires Merchant's Guild item faction put on it, so it can't be listed again on the Bazaar

There's an in game guide, G key, that can help you learn about various things in the game. Also online here, click on the 3 blue bars on the left https://www.lastepochtools.com/guide/

There's also a resources section on Maxroll if you wanted some articles on various things. It has some beginners articles. Example picture below

But you can also just pick a character that sounds interesting and just start playing. LE is generous with the respecs and you can change everything except the initial character selection, but you can just make a new character as well.

How do you guys keep playing? sunk 500 hours, have a main level 100 and 4 alts level 100. my main has double 7 most things. still cant down uber. Grinding maps for 3-5 hours a day trying to find 2-3lp uniques and imprinted double t7s. After days I manage to slam something just to fail and have to do it all over again. I'm bored and considering going back to poe.

yes, le have seasons too, but it will move your characters to legacy instead of reset all of them so you play season or legacy.

For the level of grinding, I don't think it'll lower than poe if you want 2-3lp on many unique items. Red ring is the most rare item in le, so 1lp is extreme rare already
