I wanted to ask something that's been bothering me about using custom NinePatches and animations particularly the idea of reusing them across future plugins.
Let’s say I upload an 'animation pack' plugin to the plugin store that contains shared assets like custom NinePatches or light animations. I know the game will load the draft from that pack if it's present.
my question is...
If I create another plugin later (through plugin store or locally) that depends on the assets from that animation pack, will it work properly as long as the animation pack is installed first?
In other words, is it possible to treat that animation pack like a shared resource, and have other future plugins rely on it without needing to duplicate the animations each time?
Also, is there a way to make sure the user downloads the required animation pack either before or along with any of the dependent plugins?

What does 1 height rappresent in terms of measurement
It's the size of the tiles in the game
1x1 is the same size as the singular road piece, small deco, and/or 1x1 park
So let's just say you made a tower or skyscraper, do you still have to put the same measurement for both factors?
For example, if you are building a 4x4 tower, you will need a 4x4 base or a 5x5 base to include some extra space. If you use a smaller base, it will still work, but it will have noticeable missing pieces as if it has been cut.

TheoTown files are located under such directories:
- Windows: C:\Users(insert username)\TheoTown or %USERPROFILE%\TheoTown
- Linux: ~/TheoTown
- MacOS: /user/TheoTown
- Android: /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/info.flowersoft.theotown.theotown/files
By default you should be in /storage/emulated/0/. Uninstalling the game on Android will delete all files, unless you decide to keep the files when prompted by uninstaller. (android 11 onwards restricts access to external storage for apps, so if the files cannot be accessed this way, opt for the in-build manager explained below) - ios: Search "TheoTown" in the file manager app
If you cannot access game files through these directories, game has an in-built file manager for mobile devices which is accessible from the region view menu.
You can find your plugin, music, region and city files there as well as logs for debugging purposes.

you can download plugins from the plugin store on iOS. just click the menu ⚙️ icon in the bottom left and click ‘Plugins’.
for custom/forum/server/private plugins, you download the file (this can be .zip, .plugin, .ttplugin, or just a folder), then go into the Files app and find it (usually the file is in ‘Downloads’). then, hold it and click ‘Move’. navigate to ‘On My iPhone’ > ‘TheoTown’ > ‘plugins’. then click ‘Copy’. when you restart TheoTown, this new plugin should be in your game.

the cobblestone road is ok, there are also mediaeval-esque dirt roads and paved roads in the plugins ‘Seigneur (medieval pack)’ and ‘Ukraine folk pack’.

there are a few solutions to this limitation of the game.
firstly, you could just build land across the water and put the road on top. then, you could also put some pieces from this plugin next to it, to create the illusion of a bridge: https://forum.theotown.com/viewtopic.php?t=9018
secondly, you could elevate the land both sides of the water up by 1 or 2 steps, then the bridge can cross without going uphill since the land is already raised.
thirdly, there are some plugins with bridge decorations that you can place down; they aren’t actually functional but they can look nice. there are some in the plugin ‘Ukraine folk pack’.

I think I understood what you are saying.
Some plugins render their structures outside the designated construction area because it is an animation. It instead uses animation rather than just a frame of a PNG. It can go beyond the boundary, EXCEPT to the bottom left, as everything that would render in there will appear to be erased and/or cut, so it only renders as a whole at the top to the right. Hope ya understand
So to replicate this technique I need to make a change to the artwork or the plugin programming?

To my knowledge that's not possible using the outside file manager
You'd have to use the in game file manager
There is no way to do that on Google Play Games, but you can access the web through the chrome app on the emulator and then access the theotown forum or login your discord account to send yourself plugins and files and then download them, so you can then use the in-game's file manager to put the downloaded files into the plugin paste.
Click this setting at least 5 consecutive times to open the advanced mode and then find your way to access the Chrome app.

There's a code in game that lowers values if a plugin deemed had values that is overpowered.
Their plugin is privileged, meaning they can circumvent those minimum restrictions

Today I got fed up with the lag that a building generates when I load it, so I installed the game on my phone, which works better. I logged in. Everything was fine, I entered the tutorial world, and I went to check the mods. They didn't appear. I looked at the forum and it said I had to search for them and download them again (without ads or gems, since I already have them). I looked and it said I had to buy them again. Then I restarted the game and logged back in. Nothing yet. I hope someone can help me, thanks.

The maps loaded fine but the plugins haven't loaded at all and idk how to make them work? They're in the right folder "plugins" and "managed plugins" but they won't show up in the "active plugins" or even "local plugins" or "installed plugins" sections in the plugin store

How many plugins did you have in the your managed plugins folder
u have to move all the files when switching devices. there is a file that has a code/token specific to ur acct in it. if u dont tranfer that code/token the game will think u are a different acct if u just downloaded the app on ur new device
i found this out when i switched devices
as soon as i used the code/token from my old device all the plugins i downloaded from the store worked fine
its in the settings file

As of now it depends on 2 things.
- Your number of plugins and the assets they have. A plugin like AoS or advanced roads can look small but take up a enormous amount of plugin storage.
- Your device limitation. At one point your device will meet its max from where it can't go anymore.

texture sheets are named with coordinates so if you want to grab from 1024_2048 you'd just add 1024 to x and 2048 to y
you can grab whatever you please from the world texture
if you want to use specific sprites you can also use "steal" and refer to them using their ids
x/y grabs whatever part of the world texture, steal grabs premade animations or buildings that are used in the game

basically the idea is that you create smaller square buildings that formed the desired dimensions. for example a 4x7 can be broken up into a 4x4, a 3x3, and three 1x1s like so:

you don’t even have to make separate frames for each of the small buildings, you can just divide the frame of the larger thing with "w" and "h" attributes when defining the frame
