I could no longer see rows of shops without thinking "Wow I'm in a commercial zone!" Or rows of houses as settlement zone. I am unable to see traffic and the road as asphalt, instead seeing it in a varying hue of green to red depending on how dense the traffic is. A lot of us tend to avoid making it manually. I tend to resort to using heightmaps, but if it's not high enough, I tend to make them manually

When doing it manually I tend to start by making it as tall as I want then shape it till it has nice grooves and looks realistic enough
