DLSS quality mostly caused issues with like the corners of the foliage, much less of an issue but pixelation is still there
and DLAA is perfect, except for maybe a tiny bit of blurriness, due to TAA nature

I think transformer model seems to mainly help with certain situations
and the performance drop is less as you go HIGHER resolution
so, like, DLSS performance I had a 10% performance drop with transformer model, DLSS quality was only like 3-4%... and DLAA was like 2% (within error territory, really)

I'm not sure if you actually play the game but car shadows used to smear/ghost really badly on pavement especially with some light sources around, I could have probably picked a better clip but I was just showing that happens way less, and moving lights in general have a lot less ghosting

That was pretty significantly noticeable during actual gameplay where you're playing the game normally so I'm glad to see that's improved. Grates and chain link fences are also less noticeable in motion so far unless you're really looking for it, I'm not sure if that's less corruption or better (less bad?) corruption that's easier for the brain to ignore

It is, Deepseek R1 is a 671b parameter frontier model, however they have released several other models along with it that are combined with other models, namely Meta Llama and Alibaba Qwen, adding the reasoning of their model on top of Llama and Qwen. They have provided these distilled versions of models in a few different sizes which run on consumer hardware.

All the R1 models are next generatio CoT (Chain of Thought) models that go through a "thinking" phase before responding, and you can watch them think out loud to themselves before they refine their "thoughts" into an answer. The latest version of LM Studio hides the thinking process by default, showing a "Thinking..." spinner that you can click on to expand it to see the inner workings in realtime.

Most likely, all of the next gen models that come out will all have chain of thought, and other advancements built into them, and there will be some 3b, 1.5b, 1b, and smaller models of higher quality than the current generation but way faster due to their size.

Yeah, it depends on the task at hand, for one offs or short 1-3 prompt interactions this is fine, however for longer stuff it is a bit of a grind. I usually fall back to 3b or smaller models for that type of stuff, where I generally get 8-25 tokens per second, or on 1b or smaller models as high as 70 tokens per second which is super fast.

5 tokens per second is considered human reading speed, so anything faster than that is fine

Pretty easy, download LM Studio, then go to the Discover tab, type "deepseek" and chose one or more models that have a filesize roughly no bigger than 3/4 of VRAM (to leave space in VRAM for conversation context).

It's a little rough on GPUs with less than 8GB but doable, but anything 8GB+ there are plenty of models for.
