You can, but can the add-on?
not sure what you mean by that
You may have to increase the log level - not sure, I don't use add-ons, so there's not much more I can do to help
ok thanks.. I will continue troubleshooting
Hm, Anyone using the RPC shutown addon win HA to control a Windows PC? Having a curious side-effect of using that seems to break WOL.. Looks like its to do with Hybrid Sleep apparently..
but, there doesnt seem to be any way to control the behaviour of the addon.. so unsure how to get it so HA can shutdown the PC (Windows 10) But still be able to wake it up via WOL
hi about Doods, is it so that the integration will take a picture from source cameras per scan interval and upload to the defined folder? i get very few picture uploads.
might need a bit more info there chief
i am trying to figure out what is causing me some issues. i have put 4 cameras as sources and they "spoty at best" creates a jpg in the file out folder..
is the logic as follows: per scan interval a jpg is created then Doods addon try to identify object
or
is the logic that a jpg is created only when an object (that i am looking for) is identified
sorry, didn't realise Doods was an add-on. I thought you were just saying Hey Dudes..
😄
anyhow, the logic seems to be that a jpg is created if object is identified.. i think i have some IO delay on my server creating issues for me
yeah looking at docs I think thats the case
If you have a spare windows server or VM, you might like to look into BlueIris. Its excellent, you can let it do very flexible motion detection and object recognition, and fire MQTT events at home assistant for you to respond to
yea i might boot up a win10 image and give it a go
I run it on vSphere, but I have to pass through the GPU to that VM so it can do hardware decoding
no biggie though, none of my other VM's need access to the GPU
yes. that is an issue for me on this server.. i can throw 24cores and 150GB RAM on it.. but no GPU 😦
how many cams, you might be ok anyway?
some Intel CPUs support QuickSync, so you might not need a dedicated GPU as such
Hello everybody, I have question, how can I disable the create account button on my Bitwarden add-ons ? I use HA OS. Thanks in advance
@twin onyx you might check out Hass Workstation Service for your windows PC instead. You get a lot more control than just shutdown.
is the node-red addon working fine for you?
I just did a fresh installation of node-red and I'm getting a 401 over the ingress service. The direct connection on hassio:1880 is working fine
ingess log:
WARNING (MainThread) [supervisor.api.ingress] No valid ingress session None
I did delete the local cache and I've also tried the incognito mode of a different browser
I too am getting a 401 accessing anything add-on UI thru ingress
ah right. looks like the file editor is also dead 😦
All of them here are ded :| It was an issue starting today, in 2021.9.4, updating to 9.6 didn't solve it
Hey, I am getting some things in the log of the zwavejs addon, and I was just wondering if this is normal (I don't have any S2 devices at the moment, so they don't bug me, really for now, but I might want to add a door lock) I get this right when the addon starts up (in the log tab):
The `networkKey` option is deprecated in favor of `securityKeys` option. To eliminate this warning, move your networkKey into the securityKeys.S0_Legacy option. Refer to the Z-Wave JS docs for more information
and then quite a bit later after a lot of startup messages
2021-09-13T14:22:56.745Z DRIVER No network key for S2 configured, communication with secure (S2) devices won't
work!
Did you see Ludeeus response? They didn't ping you but there is a solution
Is this the right place for a esphome question?
Actually, I wasn't using Strict at all?
okey?
That's the "workaround" in the link you sent.
Toggling tracking protection off fixes it.
If it relates to the ESPHome add-on, otherwise, you might get the best support on the ESPHome discord server.
Thanks
thanks! It is really working
I installed Tailscale VPN plug-in for Home Assistant in virtualbox and all worked well.
I then migrated to a newly arrived Odroid-n2+ Blue via restoring a backup (aka: snapshot) but even after uninstalling and re-installing Tailscale the:
502: bad Gateway
error comes up. I found no errors in the Tailscale Log but the HA System log recorded this error:
21-09-13 20:10:53 ERROR (MainThread) [supervisor.api.ingress] Ingress error: Cannot connect to host 172.30.32.1:63284 ssl:default [Connect call failed ('172.30.32.1', 63284)]
Probably the Tailscale IP changed or the authentication keys, etc. I would appreciate any suggestions to get Tailscale up and running again. Thanks in advance.
I'm using the ZeroTier addons on several raspberry. I have restore a backup from the first one to all the other one.
The issue are : they all have the same Node ID
I have found a way to delete the file on the ZT's forum, but doesnt work on Home assistant
Nevermind, fount it
is it possible to make a script / scene / button to run ssh addon commands?
yes, with the SSH & Web Terminal addon. It's in the docs for that addon
i read it, got it working at 100% but i cant seem to find the script / scene / button to run ssh commands in the docs
thanks, i guess i didnt do a good search, can you send me the link of this?
no, it's in the addon docs
make sure you're using this addon: #add-ons-archived message
i was confusing it with terminal and ssh, im sorry im new with HA, thanks!!
Many do. No worries
In case it helps: The Tailscan problem I asked about is a known issue. See: https://github.com/hassio-addons/addon-tailscale/issues/20
My thanks to EverythingSmartHome discord channel for pointing that out.
Hello folks, I'm looking for a method of remotely accessing various bits of my network, hoping home assistant or an addon for it can help. In an ideal world i'd like to be able to access the web interfaces of APs/other devices. I understand hass can do iframes but these don't work through secure connections. Any help would be appreciated!
Hi, after updating HA core from core-2021.01.05 to core-2021.9.6, I can no longer set RGB color on my bulb.
Each time I click a color, HA sends 3 mqtt messages to my bulb:
"Color":"255,27,255,0,0"
"Color":"255,27,255,0,0"
"Color":"0,0,0,220,35"
The first two are identical and set the RGB color I clicked, but then the third one sets the WW which then immediately changes back from RGB to WW.
Is this a known problem? Any ideas why HA sends that third message? My lights use MQTT integration and are handled by Mosquitto broker.
ah it's a known breakage in HA: https://github.com/home-assistant/core/issues/50316
sigh
What is wrong with MQTT 6.x addons that Tasmota doesn't work? I again tried to update but had to revert to stable 5. Tasmota is configured in configuration.yaml manually and all works on older version
I've installed the official ssh and terminal add on but when I try to open the webui, I keep getting a 401 error, and I can't find anything about it online
or at least, anything like what I'm getting
@unique shard Firefox?
yes...
oh man, I'm a dummy. Just tried it in chrome and it worked.
Is there anyway to get ssh working in firefox?
Hey, I know Unifi addon update basically broke it, so I grabbed a backup, reinstalled the addon and restored config from backup, but now the controller fails to adopt. AP is U6-Lite.
Tried also setting it up from default config but same thing. It sees it on setup but later stuck in adoption loop
@unique shard it's not ssh specifically. Click on the shield in Firefox address bar, turn off enhanced tracking protection
Someone can help me with 1-wire sensor on a raspberry?
When I modify the config.txt the boot after 1 of the 2 sensors work. After a reboot, the modification on the config.txt have disapear and the integration failed to start ( invalid path )... what I am doing wrong ?
please bare with me i never use linux in my life. i got a HA with ssh & web terminal addon, got the ssh keys, got it to sucessfully connect to a pi. I want to create a script to turn off the pie here is what i have so far https://hastebin.com/qufocaseva.less
what im missing? the next command step "reboot"? or what?
My ESPHome add on will not start. Its giving the below error, is my only option really to uninstall and reinstall the add on?
21-09-14 10:01:52 ERROR (MainThread) [supervisor.utils.json] Can't write /data/addons/data/a0d7b954_esphome/options.json: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/data/addons/data/a0d7b954_esphome/tmp61k7y63c'
21-09-14 10:01:52 ERROR (MainThread) [supervisor.addons.addon] Add-on a0d7b954_esphome can't write options
And if so is there anything that I should save so I do not lose the few devices I have setup?
@wicked knot you don't need to use an addon. hassio.host_shutdown is an existing service
use that in your automation/script
thanks! but i want to turn off another pie, not the one i got Home Assistant
ah
shutdown now
You’ll need to be root on that Pi, though
thanks! it worked like a charm
how can i add external drive to samba in home assistant?
Hi everyone! My son started school today and I was just thinking how I could “integrate” his schedule in HA. Is there any integration/addon anyone uses? I googled a bit but could only find caldav or google calendars… any advice os appreciated.
is there a way for HA to run routines when it detects my phone is charging on a specific wireless charger? ie. run xyz when on office charger run abc when on bedroom charger?
I think you will need to some how detect that the phone is in one room or the other and then just assume that if its charging that its on that wireless charger.
if the #ios_and_mac-archived or #android-archived app can detect it, sure with an #automations-archived
Not at all related to any #add-ons-archived
Use smartplugs and read the power usage of each plug to determine which one is in use… that wouldn’t work with multiple phones though…
Google calendar works
that'd be an #integrations-archived though, not an addon
why is it that my nodered addon can read everything in /config but cannot access /backup ?
as far as I can see, the addon runs as root, since I run a shell cmd from it with whoami and it returns root.
which smart plugs allow you to read power usage?
https://github.com/hassio-addons/addon-node-red/blob/main/node-red/config.json#L30 it does not request access to that directory
im trying to add my pubkey to the authorized_keys for the ssh addon, but it keeps saying that the value is invalid. its in quotes so im not sure what the issue is
should i just use the community addon
Yes, you should use the community addon (SSH & Web Terminal), but the keys are configured the same way on both. Don't enclose the key in quotes and paste them as a list
authorized_keys:
- foo1
- foo2
its working, thanks!
now I have to change my super-secret keys
speaking of
i havent heard of the "foo" cipher before
how is the key only one byte
doesnt seem very secure ¯_(ツ)_/¯
||(/s)||
I use Gosund, and flash them@with Tasmota.
Question about the GROCY integration, who can help me with that?
Thanks. I had hoped a symlink from /config/backup -> /backup would let node red read /backup, but apparently not
Hello guys I'm newbie here and started working on HA. I updated to latest ver and when trying to install IFFFT it always throws error "An unknown error occured". I found that only 1 other person had this issue and adding url to external variable worked for him but I already have that that's how I'm able to access HA at first. So any advice is appreciated.
default_config:
external_url: https://my-domain-name.duckdns.org
internal_url: http://192.168.40.4:8123
I can paste the log here if needed.
Hello~
¿Anyone knows how to configurate sensors on ONVIF add-on?
it's getting troublesome, i'll appreciate some advices
Looks like that’s an #integrations-archived
Hi, being on hassio, is it possible to customize an add-on like it is for custom components ?
To some degree. You can put the addon code into /addons and use it as a local addon, allowing you to change it. It’s described in tue addon dev docs
I remember seeing a community made addon for logitech media server but i can seem to find it on github. Anyone have the details for it?
Yes I believe that was it Thanks. I was trying to so many combinations in search and it wasnt popping up again
Its just a temp solution till my other system is up is running
Can anyone help me reinstall WireGuard? I uninstalled it when I couldn't get it to work. Now I want to try again and I cant find it in the store.
Do you see the Community Addons section?
No, the section in the addon store. Where the WireGuard addon is
no all I see is Official add-ons and a search bar above that
where's the community stuff suppsoed to be?
that's where wireguard is supposed to be, right? But it's not listed under one of the official addons, and searching for it finds nothing.
Follow these instructions: https://addons.community/
Hey! does anybody know if there is a datadog add-on? In order for the integration to work, there needs to be datadog agent running and I can't figure out where that should run exactly
Hello all, I can’t get TailScale to work with my HA, after fresh install and reboot I get a popup window:
“Failed to log in: null is not an object (evaluating ‘window.open(url,”_blank”), focus’).”
Any idea?
Use a browser
hello, i got 3 scripts on SSH terminal to control a pi remotely:
1.-open a web
2.-reboot
3.-Shutdown
but after i run the open web, the other scripts dont work until i manually close the browser, any ideas why?
@true stream posted a code wall, it is moved here --> https://hastebin.com/ibevevopon
Hi! Maybe wrong #channel...But the tracked entities is gone on the map card in lovelace...they seem to work otherwise...any tips?
Hi, does anyone know if there exists a way of connecting to a Bluetooth Threadmill device and attach readings to sensors ? Has anyone done that before ?
Why is Wireguard much slower tha Tailscale? 30Mbps vs 300Mbps
tailscale is built on wireguard 🤔 its your config then
was hoping to get help with connecting to my HA, I am running in virtual machine. Cant connect with FTP or Samba
FTP (addon) first. this is the error in the log " Oops! Something went wrong.
We are so sorry, but something went terribly wrong when

I have just tried to start esp home and get the message (see picture). that my supervisor says about it
https://imgur.com/WS6Cuvj
https://paste.debian.net/1212156
I am a total amateur, but the error message says it cant fin a certian file
No such file or directory: '/data/addons/data/a0d7b954_esphome/tmpxx2wb7pj'
I updated it to 2021.9.0, then still the same error
how can the file just be missing
may I ask what you use esphome for?
so far for nothing, but i was just about to try out an esp32 cam
I tried a DHT 11 months ago. but since then had it switched off
yes well, but that doesn't solve the esp home problem
@royal valve yeah if any addon complains about the inability to write, uninstall and re-install is the first thing to try
@astral sage what was the line above?
and what is the issue with the samba addon?
Sorry, is this channel for ha addon repo only or is it ok to ask about custom_components aswell?
@sly kindle The ftp addon is now somewhat working, it was complaining about my password, to short i guess
Custom components are #integrations-archived
@sly kindleThe ftp addon works as I said, but the file directory seem strange to me
strange how?
getting this on the HA side: " Fri Sep 17 19:23:42 2021 [pid 2] CONNECT: Client "10.0.0.118"
Fri Sep 17 19:23:46 2021 [pid 1] [ha] OK LOGIN: Client "10.0.0.118""
so its working
btw those catalogues are empty
Hi,
I was wondering whether dyndns (oracle dns) is supported by the let's encrypt add-on
I couldn't find it on the supported dns providers (https://github.com/home-assistant/addons/blob/master/letsencrypt/DOCS.md#supported-dns-providers)
So I guess not?
is my only alternative then to use http instead of dns to get the certificates?
let me check
I don't know why they are false by default, but 🤷♂️
I use smb myself, but I installed ftp to check
is these lines something you must put in your self into the confuguration file? because does are not present in my configuration
@astral sage are you looking at the configuration page?
I'm talking about ftp not samba
with the ftp addon where you were only seeing media and share directories
I my stupid me
those are set to true. the other directories are set to false
oh man that did it, thank you so much for your kind help
I will use FTP, i ditch the samba
@sly kindle thank you
all entities are blank in appdaemon on my ipad2, even hello world is all blank
Hi all, I am trying to add this addon on on a fresh spun hassOS VM, but i get 401 unauthorized error. https://github.com/sabeechen/hassio-google-drive-backup
how to fix this. I have this addon on another HA that crashed and is offline since few months.
Could this be conflict on using same account and if so, how to reset it?
?
Well I thought maybe there was a hacky way to use another dns challenger to accomplish that
Hi there! I try to integrate venetian blinds into HA via an MQTT gateway. I managed to get the autodiscovery working and the blinds are moving up and down as expected, similar to my remote control. But the remote uses three different modes like "short press", "long-press" and "double-tap" on the direction buttons to mediate "single step", "full move" and "tilt/half shade". And so does the API that I access.
I have seen that there is some configuration to at least define a "tilt_command" topic in the device configuration, but the frontend rendering of the class just displays the usual up, stop, down buttons. Since "long-press" or "double-tap" is no feature for a HTML app, how is it supposed to happen? More Buttons on the entity? How?
Setting the "supported_features" did change nothing.
Is there a reason why the bookstack addon can't be veiwed from the main interface like most of the other ones can be
need help don't get

the dnsmasq to work
I am installing NGINx Proxy Manager add-on but when i add a proxy host, I cant save it as it throws a 'Internal Error'. what could be worng. running ha OS VM on proxmox with port forwarding rules set.
upon refresh, it shows for proxy entry as status- Unknown.
I want to use AppDaemon to run a python script with imports, however I can't get it to run.
It crashes at from PIL import Image because it can't load libtiff. I have tried adding pretty much any combination of libtiff, libtiff5 and libtiff-dev to my packages, but without success.
Hi rkbest. I'm a beginner but I just had this problem. In my case, it was solved when I changed the port redirection from my ISP redirection...
Hi all. I need help for the add-on NGINX PROXY MANAGER too. I would like to use pihole on the same Raspberry pi 4 than my Home Assistant. I need to 'listen' the port 443 with pihole as well as my HA. Do you know how can I make it ? Many thanks. 😉
What do mean by isp redirection?
Internet service provider
Hello Everyone.. Am having some issues with my Mosquitto broker in Home Assistant. It says its running but there is nothing communicating with it. I keep getting this message in the log.
1632060428: New connection from 172.30.32.1 on port 1883.
1632060428: Socket error on client <unknown>, disconnecting.
1632060548: New connection from 172.30.32.1 on port 1883.
I have reinstalled it a few times but nothing changes. any help would be appreciated
I know what isp but what’s the redirection you mentioned. Is it on the isp cable modem?
Also noticed my smart bulb with hub stopped working after the setting changed. Changes- adgaurd, ngnix installed and dns updates on router
is it possible to install an older version of an add-on? i understand appdaemon problems with old ipads isnt in older versions of the add-on
From one of your backups
just recently installed it and started to tinker with it so ive got no older versions. hence the question
It’s not straightforward
is there any third party add-on repos?
already found some I like from the community repo but wondering if there’s any further add-on repos I could explore
Okay so i’m looking for a plugin that will allow me to do the following:
- Connect the HASS Server to a Bluetooth Speaker
- ‘Broadcast’ the Bluetooth Speaker as a AirPlay device
does that exist?
Anyone use this: https://github.com/hass-emulated-hue/core
Having issues getting the official hue app to connect, every third party app connects just fine, just the hue app
It finds the bridge and pairs with it, it just never gets past this https://imgur.com/a/pNGBcyz
hey, good morning!
In an older home assistant rpi install i lost my credentials for tasmo admin. any idea where these are stored / to reset them?

Is it possible to setup a DUCK DNS account without using any of the OpenID login types?
Is there a way to down grade the UniFi Controller addon to 5.6.22?
I have some older gear that doesn't work with 6.2.x
From a backup
fresh install I don't have a backup
Is it possible to setup a DUCK DNS account without using any of the OpenID login types?
Alternately, does anyone know how to contact the dev team? Do they have their own community?
Then download and copy into /addons to use it as a local addon. But there’s no step by step guide for that
Hello. I'm trying to create a new add-on that uses the MQTT discovery. However, my lights are permanently "unavailable" - and I can't figure out why. I've set a avty_t and an pl_avail, and I push a message to avty_t containing that payload, but still it only shows unavailable. I'm not sure how to go about debugging this further either.
Is there some way I can see why HS things my devices are unavailable?
Hi, I need to set up an iSCSI target for an IP-Cam. Does anybody see a chance of getting an iSCSI target running on the RPI4 which I am already using for homeassistant_os? With a usb drive.
Could this work as an add-on? I would like to keep the supervisor...
Grateful for any hints/experience!
Looking for a way to control my Google Home only apps via Home Assistant? anyone know?
Hi after setting up my HA , NGINX proxy manage, duckdns etc. I cant reach from outside. I get the site cant be reached. despite all port forwarded in the router. ( i do have adgaurd running). What could be stopping it to work?
@limber cedar I'm getting I guess the same error
I followed this video https://youtu.be/F57zx3qQXuY at about 8 min in he goes over setting up nginx. So if you figure out your issue let me know!
Lol, i followed the same video? So i guess, some things might have changed.
https://www.portchecktool.com/ did you both check that your ports are open?
Goodmorning all 🙋🏼♂️ I have a very strange problem which I cannot pinpoint. Since a couple of days, multiple times a day my logbook seems stopped. Yesterday, for example, the logbook didn’t receive info during +/- 20 minutes. When it got caught up, al the events that happened during that period where visible in the logbook. It seems that also no WiFi devices seem to trigger/activate during that period. My zigbee sensors/lights kept working, but my Shelly devices didn’t turn on. These did work manually, and the network wasn’t down since I was able to open/refresh home assistant and run a speedtest. Restarting server / host didn’t work. I run MariaDB which shows no errors. The Home Assistant Log shows errors about not being able to connect to i.e. Shelly, but nothing about logbook/db.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Any idea how to fix it?😕
Yes I believe mine are all open
You can confirm it using the link I provided
I'll check later I didn't see this before I left this morning, I haven't really done much limiting in my router so I believe it should be
seems 443 is OK, but 8123 is not OK
If you're using nginx I assume you need 443 and 80. I haven't watched the video
Problem! I could not see your service on 47.218.xxx.xxx on port (8123).
Reason: Connection timed out.
80 also returned same msg
only 443 was green
but i guess, unless some service is using 80, I will get red, am i wrong.
my router has both forwarded
Is this the right place to get help regarding the wireguard addon? I'm having trouble with one of my devices connecting to it.
hello, I have one log in my mosquito borker that I cant solve, 1632241939: New connection from 192.168.1.3 on port 1883.

192.168.1.3 is my home assistant instance
maybe wrong credentials on that device
and this are my supervisor logs

is showing fc and now im ussing other user!
but I already change it in the addon config and doesnt work

To get HTTPS / SSL working locally only (with HA OS / HA Core), is the Letscrypt add-on the best option? Or is there an easier way to get this done?
In my humble opinion, the better option is setting up a reverse proxy even for local-only SSL. The NGINX Proxy Manager addon is a super easy way to do it
You'll solve future problems if you do it that way. If you really want to set up SSL directly to your HA instance, then the Let's Encrypt addon is fine
@limber cedar @sly kindle when I ran the port checker tool, for both it says connection refused
Sorry I did it as I was starting up home assistant my pie got powered off now it seems to say my ISP is not blocking Port 80 and 443 but when I try to connect with duck DNS it has the 400: bad request error
@vocal sonnet posted a code wall, it is moved here --> https://hastebin.com/yizufecodu
Doh! my "here's what I did" must have been a bit too thorough. I'm having problems with the HA, Nginx Proxy Manager, Cloudflare combo. Lots of details above ^^^^
Oh, in addition to the stuff in th3e "code wall" above, my Cloudflare config is currently set as DNS Only for the relevant entries (A and CNAME records)
Scratch the question above. Figured out my issue. (was looking at the wrong logs). my trusted_proxy was misconfigured.
Hey Good night, what is a good FTP server to use to upload camera videos?
@low ferry I use vsFTPD it default in HA (https://github.com/hassio-addons/addon-ftp)
My Zigbee2MQTT with MQTT Broker stopped working after (probably) MQTT Broker update. Changelog shows MQTT Broker ended/disallowed anonymous authentication now. Can anyone comment on this? Might it be the reason?
@eternal forge what says the logbook?
it keeps going on like this (mqtt broker log):
1632315292: New connection from 172.30.32.1 on port 1883. 1632315292: New client connected from 172.30.32.1 as 1ndq1gwDR6Lg6n1M72u9pY (p2, c1, k60, u'homeassistant'). 1632315293: Socket error on client 1ndq1gwDR6Lg6n1M72u9pY, disconnecting. 1632315294: New connection from 172.30.32.1 on port 1883. 1632315294: New client connected from 172.30.32.1 as 1ndq1gwDR6Lg6n1M72u9pY (p2, c1, k60, u'homeassistant'). 1632315294: Socket error on client 1ndq1gwDR6Lg6n1M72u9pY, disconnecting. 1632315295: New connection from 172.30.32.1 on port 1883. 1632315295: New client connected from 172.30.32.1 as 1ndq1gwDR6Lg6n1M72u9pY (p2, c1, k60, u'homeassistant').
I think default installation doesn't use authentication? and updated mqtt broker doesn't allow unauthenticated logins anymore? might that be it?
I am not sure about that last thing because i have a unauthenticated login on my mqtt broker and it's still working
Zigbee2MQTT version 1.21.1 commit: unknown
Coordinator type ConBee2/RaspBee2
Mosquitto broker Current version: 6.0.1
in your MQTT conf is the autenticated connection on "allow_anonymous" ?
anyhow, this is how it looks https://i.gyazo.com/81e0a4ff3e915b17487d92c1795a1d6b.gif
i've tried both true and false. Maybe it's some other issue... zigbee2mqtt jumps "online" and "unavailable" on HA other integrations work ok.
It think the best way is to downgrade for now and make a post on github on the MQTT page. You can post it here https://github.com/mqttjs/MQTT.js/issues
ok, I will test that way... any advice how it is easeiest to downgrade mqtt broker?
before the upgrade you made a snapshot right?
yes but I have tweaked things around and only later noticed the whole zigbee is down 😦 will find a way 🙂 fortuanately I'm new to it and not too much automation has been done
looks like just a reinstall of mqtt broker fixed it (same version as before) 😐 no idea how or what exactly was wrong or if will stay working
Is there another way to retrieve the HA instance id from an add-on, since the /discovery_info is now deprecated?
if you're developing an addon, you'd want #devs_add-ons-archived
anyone familiar with the grafana addon? I get a "InfluxDB Error: Bad Gateway" when I try to link to InfluxDB database
hi folks, do we need to do anything because of the news here? am sure lot of people use the Duckdns with Lets encrypt https://techcrunch.com/2021/09/21/lets-encrypt-root-expiry/
managed to sort it out .... incorrect http url
I'm using zigbeeqtt and reinstalled mqtt broker. Now HA shows all zigbee devices (fruendly names) as "unavailable". Zigbee2mqtt sees devices fine. Where to look for the issue?
If Z2M sees everything ok but the broker does not, then it is the Z2M broker settings. If the broker sees the settings then it is the connection between HA and the broker.
hmm... mqtt broker is ok: 1632394919: New connection from 172.30.32.1 on port 1883. {"result": "ok", "data": {}}1632394919: New client connected from 172.30.32.1 as mqttjs_12dcea7e (p2, c1, k60, u'mqttuser').
zigbee2mqtt shows no error that it is not connected...
HA still shows the devices as unavailable
Is there a way to re-populate HA list of devices? refresh somehow as it should be ok from MQTT side... or how to query MQTT to check if it brokers the info
Hi all, i get the following error messages in my Supervisor log file:

I am pretty sure that I do not have installed any AdGuard or UniFi add-ons, and all add-ons are on "auto-update" setting: what can be done?
Hi, i have an issue with adguard being unable to reach upstream dns servers. running HA in a vm on synology. anyone has an idea what could be blocking this?
I'm seeing the same message. I also don't have those addons installed.
Hello NGINX stopped working for me recently, not sure what the problem is, Got the ports forwarded ok but NGINX stuck on -- [21:24:20] INFO: Running nginx... --
Reinstalled it, can't see anything in logs for HA, is this log hidden now?
I have a question about the VLC addon - in the config of the addon, nor in the webGUI of the addon I see the possibility to specify a password. The addon documentation doesn't mention a password.
But when setting up https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/vlc_telnet/ it says a password is mandatory. What to do"?
I found https://github.com/rodripf/hassio-local-vlc/issues/9
But it speaks of a addon documentation of 5 steps, whilst there only seem to be 3 nowadays:
Navigate in your Home Assistant frontend to Supervisor -> Add-on Store.
Find the "VLC" add-on and click it.
Click on the "INSTALL" button.
I still cant make duckdns work for internal proxy. I get some error in logs with not much information. "[9/23/2021] [9:02:42 PM] [IP Ranges] › ℹ info Fetching IP Ranges from online services...

Will Plex server addon work good on a rpi4 locally?
It ran quite ok on my previous rpi3, so I'd say yes. The pi3 was too slow for Jellyfin.
Hello. Maybe somebody could help me figure out how I can install an old version of ESPHOME addon via a Supervisor? I am running a HA OS on Rpi. Restoring from Supervisor/Backups does not work for me - throws errors like [supervisor.jobs] Unhandled exception: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/data/tmp/tmpxgao6n0x/data' Thank you.
Hi my colors are not displaying properly on my tasmota H801 devices. If I ask alexa to change to white they go off but if i set them via color 12 they work
Not sure that is an addon issue.
so what is it then
Anyone?
It's not complete. You can find the password but it's a pain
It also doesn't work very well
What I read online is that when starting VLC, you need to set the password as command line parameter . Since the addon starts VLC, I'd expect it as a config option for the addon.
What is not complete? Did I do something wrong?
Ooh! Ok thanks. Unmaintaned or work in progress? Any suggestion that you could give me instead on how to play an audio file through 3.5mm port by HA?
/edit: I'm having Odroid N2+
Thanks. Ok, pity, basically the main thing I'm missing in HA. Keep up the good work guys!
here from #zwave-archived having some issues with the zwave-js addon, apparently there is a new version 0.1.40 available, but the add-on store is only showing me 0.1.34 which is currently giving me a "Retrying setup: Z-Wave JS Server version is incompatible: 1.9.2 a version is required that supports at least api schema 8" error. any thoughts on how to get this 0.1.40 version to show up? using home assistant os 6.4, no updates available, updated today

Hello, I am having a issue getting Let's Encrypt and Nginx (for external access) to work.
I was able to set up a my DNS and Let's encrypt successfully completes the http challenge.
However, I am now getting a 400: Bad Request page when accessing the related URL.
How do I debug this?
How do I reverse initialize repo in the vscode?
I am no expert, but if you can't remove it through hass, then try installing the Portainer addon, maybe unchecking protection mode, and then try to uninstall it through that.
Hello, I do have a location not near me where I can use a guest internet. Over there, I got a NousA1 socket with energy monitoring, it works via Tuya. How can i read the Tuya energy monitor from Home Assistant? Thx for any pointers!
If the socket is connected to the Tuya cloud via the guest network just use the Tuya #integrations-archived (this is not an addon question, you are in the wrong channel).
Oh ok. Sorry, will check the integrations then. Tuya does not offer any sensor values on energy when the device is not local, but maybe i overlooked something. Thx anyways for quick response!
Thanks, that worked.
I posted in integrations in error. I cant access my samba from my Hp. it was working previously. It shows "homeassistant" under my networks below my laptop. When i click on it to open it says, it cant open, when I log into the reason and troubleshoot it states that the remote device wont accept the connection. I have tried to map the drive and that does not work either. I have Home assistant setup on a RasPi4 and plugged into the lan. I have tried all the troubleshooting that I know how to and have tried uninstall, and reinstall based off some of the videos. Any help would really be appreciated.
I’m clearly being utterly blind - I have a number of tasmota devices talking to my mosquitto broker on HA, and added another last week - but today I can’t figure out the mqtt password. Neither can I find a config file for mosquitto at all. Be grateful if someone could point me at the relevant doc or directory.
Found it - knew Inwould after posting that… new top tabs appear when mosquitto is selected under supervisor adding
All that proves is that I am now thoroughly confused - I did remember the password, but it still gets rc5 (unauth) - it’s a newer tasmota version, but I would be surprised if that broke mqtt

Hi all. I'm working on an addon to control bticino MyHome hardware via homeassistant. My addon acts as a bridge between the MyHome (openwebnet) protocol and mqtt. Currently I still have to create lights by sending a manually crafted mqtt message to a mqtt topic (homeassistant/light/something/config), but command and state messages are working just fine. Unfortunately after restarting homeassistant, all the lights are disabled, their status is 'restored' in the entities overview. What do I need to do to make the setup survive a homeassistant restart?
^ note: resending the configuration messages fixes the problem but I would like to make sure that this is the way to move forward

Does anyone know the file I'd find the MQTT password i put in for the MQTT broker add on or integration? I want to check what it is before I change it.
You don't need to
the add-on will communicate the settings with Home Assistant
it will pop up as discovered and Home Assistant will exchange data with the add-on
including authentication
So if I change the password to it, it won't break anything? That's my main concern that I might lose some device connections but I've forgot if anythings connected to it.
You can't change the password Home Assistant uses internally between the add-on and the integration
That's my main concern that I might lose some device connections but I've forgot if anythings connected to it.
If set up correct, the credentials Home Assistant uses are not related to any other credentials
Alright, cheers Frenck 🙂
does anyone on here use the ZHA-Network-Card resource?

Could someone help me?
Where should I look for additional logs?
Can https://github.com/home-assistant/addons/issues/2055 get re-opened? It's definitely still a reproducible issue.
The only thing that can be done on the add-on side is document the workaround, so I don't think it should be.
If you are running a recent Samba version, and if you think this problem is not yet fixed in the latest versions, please consider reporting this bug, see https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Bug_Reporting
That's where it belongs
good morning. I've bee using homeassistant for quite some time now and it's going great. The only "issue" i'm facing is related to the homekit addon. I configured and correctly connected to my iphones and ipad. It all work well but after i tap a light on the phone, even if the command is sent correctly and the lights correctly turns on/off, often times (but not always) the status of the button on the phone reverts back to the precedent status. Has anyone else experienced this issue ?
If i reopen the dropdown then the phone update the stattus to the correct one.
for context i have all my lights connected using zigbee2mqtt
after installing HAos would I be able to migrate my nodered, mqtt server, and zwavejs2mqtt server from my unraid dockers to the HA addons?

am i missing a setting in Nginx Proxy Manager?
does anyone in here happen to have an "mqtt bridging for dummies" guide for the hass.io misquitto broker add-on please?
I think the add-on needs to be running a recent samba version, though?
I dont know, have bo ned for it
Hey y'all! Just set up Home Assistant a few days ago and am already in-love. I'm considering managing my configuration through Git as I saw there is a Git Pull add-on in Supervisor. I have (what I'm hoping to be) a very simple question. I know I need to add a deployment key to my particular Github repo to allow the add-on to pull from my repo, but is there a particular SSH public key I need to use on my Home Assistant install for this add-on? I read through the add-on's documentation, but it doesn't inform me of what SSH keypair to use. Is this SSH keypair something I just need to generate on my Pi? (Also, I'm running the default HASS supervised image on a Raspberry Pi 4 (4GB version) I downloaded from the Home Assistant site.) Thanks for any pointers/help!!
@upper hare I think the addon is a little clunky and users prefer using VSC but someone will probably correct me on that
Is VSC the Visual Studio Code add-on?
right
Gotcha. I've tried installing this on my RPi 4GB model, and at points the interface doesn't load, etc. Not sure if this is an issue to Ingress or because I'm only on a 4GB model. Thought maybe the Git-pull add-on would be a decent move so I can run VSC on my computer and just push changes to the server that way.
Hey, I have a question, I use home assistant OS and I have bitwarden. When I put incorrect passwords in my bitwarden I'm never blocked. Do you have solution how can I make "login_attempts_threshold" in my bitwarden when I use home assistant ? Thanks in advenced
Hi all. I posted this to the community a few min ago and know it's esoteric enough it's unlikely to get much response there. I also have a gut feel it's related to something an add on did as mentioned in the post, so... Linking here for lack of a better idea on which sub group it might be best placed in.
Short version: Removing DuckDNS and Let'sEncrypt and trying to revert HA to non https internally broke ingress somehow but not if I go thru Nabu Casa. Totally strange.
Hi, question, has InfluxDB had any issues lately?
Mine seems to have stopped recording any data at the beginign of september, and right now when getting the graphs I get every month, there is no data, but when looking at the sensors, they are working and the state is there, there's just no historical data across all of september...
Disregard my above, note added to it. Was cookies and a Firefox bug combined
Ugh... nevermind, my mqtt mirror was down... '
hI, quick question....I just installed Home Assistant on my Raspberry Pi in Docker
is it possible to install add-ons?
or can this only be completed with the Home Assistant OS install?
Only with OS
You can install whatever software, native or containers, that you want, though
When trying to install addons I get the following message 'AddonManager.install' blocked from execution, no host internet connection
is there a way to install add ons separately as containers?
no, but you can find the containers that the addons wrap and install them yourself

Good Morning!
I have 2 HA instances running, in city A and in city B. In A I also have an Nginx Proxy manager addon running. I want to create a Proxy Host in Nginx Proxy manager to reach B through A. So it should look something like this: cityB.cityA.com . is it possible? (mostly because they are not on the same LAN)
So far the result is a 400: Bad Request when trying to navigate to the proxy address

Adguard, supposedly
There is a charge for adguard which is what I am trying to avoid
is there Plex Server and NAS addons for HA OS?F
Yeah I'm just using Samba thanks.
Anyone know if there's a way I can route external plex traffic through my Home Assistant Cloud subscription? I'm on a private LAN that's piggy-backing off a shared dorm network to get internet access, so I have no option of opening ports.
Hello all. I am using the add-on for adguard home within Hassio and wondering if anybody has discovered a way to create switches that can display in the front end to control specific blocked services? I am looking to automate the blocking of specific services at certain times. Any information is welcome. Thanks.
I'm installing Node-Red (nodered/node-red:latest) using Portainer on a Pi4, but I'm getting a permission error: permission denied, open '/data/settings.js'
I can't find any solution via google at this point... Would anyone know a link which will help?
Answer: The host's folder that binds to Node-Red's /data folder must have ownership 1000:1000, i.e. pi:pi.
See the permissions notes under "Managing User Data" : https://nodered.org/docs/getting-started/docker
G'day,

Which is interesting since I haven't installed either add-on.
Either way, is this an appropriate place to "report this to the maintainer" who I believe is Frenck? (Sorry I don't know how to address this post to him.)
I'm sure frenck has been notified many times over and it will be addressed. You might have recently noticed them but those logs have been there for a while
Could someone explain me why there is this "Browse +1000 Integrations" claim on the https://www.home-assistant.io/ website but in my supervised install on raspi4 only a few?
for example the LG WebOS addon missing on my installation.
ohhhh, well. Thanks 😆
I thought that the hacs wait timer for addon vs integration was a bit much but after joining this discord I fully see why it's there
Are there any good sources for add-ons that I might be missing I have the community add-ons already
I have zwavejs running for months now with no issues. But having issues getting zwavejs2mqtt working now...
I've followed the directions to install addon but when I run the zwavejs2mqtt UI it says...

Anyone know if there is any way to control / limit which entities get exposed to the almond add-on?
I am trying to add this repository to my addons page and when I do nothing shows up. https://github.com/sabeechen/hassio-google-drive-backup
it's supposed to give me the option to install google drive backup. Anyone else have issues with this? My logs don't really show anything when i add it.
I clicked the three dots and clicked on repositories
let me try that, what is that?
That worked. How is that different from what I did?
I don't know what you did
But it's not any different, if you paste the same, and are in the correct place in the UI
Isn't there supposed to be a zigbee2mqtt addon in the addon store?
I don't have it for some strange reason
You have to add the repo
Thanks for the info 👍
I am trying to stop an addon from the CLI but when I LIST the addons, they scroll up through the screen (several pages) and I can't find the slug for the NGINX addon that I want to stop.
Is there a way to list my addons one page at a time? Maybe using a pipe filter to view them one page at a time or a --page type switch I can use?
^^ I don't have access to the UI, that's why I am trying to stop the addon via the CLI
I was able to stop my DuckDNS addon using: addons stop "core_duckdns"
Guys quick question!
im going to get a nuc to run hass os only on this device.
My question is should i run deconz as addon on hass os or as docker on my unraid server?
if you plan on setting things up and having lots of reboots- having the z* coordinator on a independent machine makes sense.
if you have a finished setup you can run it on the nuc
Hm, so I had to move my Homeassist to a new machine (ESXI to Rasppi) the backup went mostly well but a lot of the extensions that use WEbUI just wont load now. They sit on a blank page for a while, then go "Unable to load the panel source: /api/hassio/app/entrypoint.js"
.. any idea why?
can you do a docker ps to see if the services are actually running?
Im pretty sure they are, its things like Deconz and the lights are working
Oh fun, the supervisor panel isnt loading either now.. -.-
what are you running? os or supervised?
Was there a change in the past several months to portainer that would cause my existing portainer items to disappear and get prompted to either set up a new portainer install or restore from backup?
Is portainer meant to be able to run other docker apps on the same device as hassOS or only for debugging? The documentation on HassOS and Hass docs are different.
I wanted to run maybe like a gitlab or sql server in docker, but if its not recommended, I just will uninstall and do it elsewhere.
it's possible, but not recommended
Ok, thanks. I thought it was meant to be used as adding docker stuff, but didnt realize it as just for debugging. I'll just set up docker on another device. Thanks

hey guys
is it the right place to ask for configuration/addon help
looking for help on nginx proxy manager and thus Maria DB
as it wont start without
Which addon is used to allow a user to click locations on a floor plan to activate lights etc? Is this an Image Card or do I need something else?
(I'm running Core w/ HACS, i.e. no Addon Store.)
It's not an addon it is a picture elements card (part of Home Assistant core Lovelace, nothing to install). https://www.home-assistant.io/lovelace/picture-elements/ See #frontend-archived for help with this.
I keep seeing panel_iframe.yaml all over the place. Is this part of an addon or is this a breakout of the configuration.yaml?
question - the standard letsencrypt add-on - it never stays running. is that intentional? does it start periodically when it wants to renew?
@kind flume it does not start itself. You can create automations for it though
@inland garden add-ons are completely different software you might find for any other system that is NOT running Home Assistant. Samba server, FTP server, Node-Red, etc
Thanks!
hey, I got a probably simple and/or stupid question about secrets and addons: Can I not use secrets (as in !secret key_to_thesecret_in_secrets.yaml) in configuration files for addons (like zigbee2mqtt)?
in all cases where I tried this, it didn't work. Is it only for the (main) configuration.yaml and/or subfiles?
yea that's exactly what I tried, do I need to include something as well (or do anything else)?
no, it uses the HA secret file
Is there documentation somewhere on how to do that?
I was hoping to do it via node-red but I'll take what I can get
@viscid orchid as an example I was trying to use it in the zigbee2mqtt config, for the mqtt/password entry. Works in plain text, won't work as "!secret same_entry".
it might require explicit support in the addon config, considering that it provides access to your secrets and addons can come from anywhere
@kind flume here's someone also using cert_expiry along with an automation to restart the add-on https://community.home-assistant.io/t/lets-encrypt-add-on-how-to-get-automatic-renewal/171236/14?u=cogneato
it wasn't the only one though where I tried it, and it didn't work anywhere that I tried (had no need to edit the main config, I assume it would work fine there)
@craggy rain secrets are also plain text and aren't really adding any security
They are nice if you plan on sharing your screen or config
well yes, but conceptually I do like the idea of having them at least in one place
I'm using it in the Samba addon: password: '!secret samba_password'
rather than having plain text passwords and -phrases scattered all over the place
yeah as zigbee2mqtt is not a core or community repo add-on, I'm not sure support for secrets is there
@viscid orchid I had tried it for samba as well, good to know that that should work
@viscid orchid @sly kindle lol well, apparently time has solved the issue. Without changing anything in the secrets file (same old entries I wanted to use in the past) I have retried using it, and it's just working now. Consider me confused, but satisfied 🤷♂️ Thanks for the help though.
well, good to know it is supported there anyway
only difference is that HA had some updates and is now running in a VM and not on a Pi (but was transferred using a snapshot/backup). So I'm just very confused, but whatever, it's working so that's fine I guess
the surrounding quotes are important - that's the only thing I can think of
yea, it wouldn't let me save back when I last tried without them, and I know I tried without, with ' and with ".
as I said: confusion
No longer need the quotes
All addons support using secrets, the supervisor handles that part.
Reading a file is “expensive” so the content is cached for 60s, you can force reload with the reload button on the system tab
Hi all! I got a problem with my HA, it doesn't sync time with NTP (I think i got something in my LAN don't let it sync) and to let it work I installe chrony, it worked really good, but now stopped to work. In logs say:2021-09-21T05:03:33Z Initial frequency 13.601 ppm
2021-09-21T05:03:43Z No suitable source for initstepslew

2021-09-21T05:07:07Z Selected source 37.247.53.178 (pool.ntp.org)
and current time on HA is 2021-09-21, 07:11. What can i do to corret it?
Is there something going on with the Waze add-on? Since some days, I no longer get travel times coming through...?
@wooden ether anything you find here: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations#all is an integration
so this is the wrong channel
ow indeed... my bad
Has anyone in here used the Joplin Server add-on? https://github.com/alexbelgium/hassio-addons/blob/master/joplin/README.md I need some help getting it to work with DuckDNS running. DuckDNS works, but I get an SSL record too long error when I try to access Joplins web UI.
Being able to self host joplin via HA would be incredibly helpful.
Why is it that I can only access HA using DuckDNS by designating https and not also via http?
Is there a way that I can use both http and https with DuckDNS/HA?
I dont remember ever strictly specifying only https.
Trying Nginx Proxy Manager Addon
@glossy rune when you added this:
http:
ssl_certificate: /ssl/fullchain.pem
ssl_key: /ssl/privkey.pem
you wouldn't want to use the duckdns address with http. It's the local address you are talking about I assume
Hello. 🙂
I run HassOS on a Raspberry Pi.
I have HA exposed to the internet using DuckDNS in which I set the letsencrypt to true and I'm using a self signed certificate. It's worked fine so far but since I have Grocy I decided to install the app and work from there. The problem is the Android app doesn't take self signed certificates so I've been trying to get one from Letsencrypt. I must be doing something wrong because I just can't get it to work, does anyone have theirs configured this way that could maybe give me some pointers please?
@autumn garnet > I set the letsencrypt to true and I'm using a self signed certificate
those are two different things
let letsencrypt get the cert, or use your own
I mean I am using duckdns itself for the let's encrypt.
ok. so it puts that in the /ssl directory
I didn't install the let's encrypt addon. Well, I did at some point lol.
Yes. And my cert is self signed and it won't work with the grocy app.
you would use that if you had your own domain and wanted an LE cert for it
yeah self signed is going to be a PIA for most things
I tried it out of desperation. 😂 It's been 2 days I've been trying lol.
All you have to do is check the duckdns logs to see if the cert was successfully generated and used
Hi! I'm trying to configure an external hard disk as a a volume in the Portainer add-on, would anyone have an idea, or an idea of where I could find the right documentation?
@sly kindle
I added the base URL line to the http section of the configuration file and the grocy app suddenly accepted my certificates... 🤦♀️ Thank you. 😊
On to a new problem now... The Grocy I exposed on the 9192 port doesn't load any data because it duplicates the base URL. 😂 But that's something for another chat, not here.
@fleet heron
Have you seen this one yet?
@autumn garnet thank you, I have
I've never worked with it, just searching to see if I find anything that might help you.
I have found documentation that says, just configure the volume where your underlying OS mounts it
And I have no idea how to configure the HA OS supervisor to do that in a way that won't break on updates
I've never worked with it, can't help more than searching. Sorry.
I'm not even sure how to break out of the container to inspect the supervisor system
Wait and see if anyone here can help you out.
I will. Thank you again!
Sorry I can't actually help. 😛
hey guys, where are the addons stored? i'm on HA core
on an ESXI host if that makes any difference
trying to find the file path to pull some keys for my zwave network
You don't. If you want a PC like experience, you should run a straight docker install, mount whatever you want. With HA OS each addon has to be configured to support external storage. There's a samba nas add-on out there and a Plex addon which do this
I was looking at the Samba addon, it doesn't seem to support external storage?
Portainer is for debugging really. This ecosystem has the supervisor.
Not that one. Search for "samba nas home assistant"
Ah! Thank you. That should do the trick, actually.
Question on Wireguard. On my server (Pi4) I cant get the port 51820 to forward TCP or UDP. Port 8123 test ok on TCP but not UDP. What am I missing?
So... I restored my previous backup and forgot I hadn't backed up the changes... So the certificates don't always work for https and I have a valid certificate on DuckDNS (which I suspect is self signed). Can anyone give me a little hand please? At this point I have no clue how I fixed it.
OK back to Wireguard...I found out that most port scanners can't check UDP. I found one that did and Port 51820 is working. Now I have heard that Nabu Casa can be used instead of DuckDNS but in the WireGuard Documentation is says it can't. @raven tinsel what do you say?
Can someone please shed some light on Nginx Proxy Manager? What I think it should do is make my duckdns.org domain reach my HASS, which it does from an external IP. What I thought it would also do is make HASS available using the https://mydomain.duckdns.org/ via a local IP. Is this correct? If so how do I get it to work, because it doesn't.
Hi all, so im a total noob to HA so please dont shout at me to loud. My first hopefully simple question is..... I can not see ledfx in the store on HA but i can see it on github, what am i doing wrong?
Any idea which add-on to use with these 'smart' bulb? https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08R65VPC1
It looks like it's a Tuya wifi bulb, they look to have an app so download it and the Tuya app and compare the 2 apps if it's tuya the app will look pretty much the same. if you have the bulb already try to register it in the tuya app. if it registers you then have a couple of options use HA tuya integration , use Local Tuya from Hacs, flash with Tasmota if the firmware / hardware is not too new.
That is one of the things you can do. SSL terminates at NGINX with your DuckDNS cert and redirects to HA with http and no cert/SSL
Every time i try to access the configurator (file editor), i get this error in the logs: "Client IP banned"... Anyone know a fix?
I have home assistant installed on a raspberry pi in a docker container

I have home assistant installed on a raspberry pi in a docker container
That could be one of several specific installs
What did you installed and how?
Home assistant Supervised following the official tutorial
i do have the following in my plugin configuration:
allowed_networks:
- 0.0.0.0/0
Which to my knowledge opens it up to all which is unsafe but it will not have internet access upon deployment
Yes. the homeassistant os doesnt allow for hdmi output from what i have read and tried
it does. There's no desktop environment if that's what you mean
You installed the file editor add-on?
Yes and its running
addon config:
dirsfirst: false
enforce_basepath: true
git: true
ignore_pattern:
- pycache
ssh_keys: []
allowed_networks: - 0.0.0.0/0
Is it possible to output the home assistant UI to a touch screen hdmi screen with the OS?
no, but you should be doing that on other devices anyway as it's a headless server
any device, tablet, phone, etc with a browser
remove allowed_networks and then try it again
doesnt work
Im using it as a control terminal for a thermostat system where i receive temp data and then control the heaters and windows... i only need a single "client" and thought it would be easier and cheaper to have a single device acting as a server and client
try accessing it from another device
I have, same thing every time
you still get the allowed networks error even when allowed networks isn't present?
I don't know where to go from there
Yep
unless you have it in configuration.yaml
Will check
Nothing about it there
But i think im going to abandon the struggle XD im just going to go with the OS install and then spend a extra couple of bucks on a tablet rather than a screen
Thanks for the help @sly kindle ❤️
@static yoke
The tablet is more convenient anyway. 😛
Does anyone here use the Grocy add-on?
I have been trying to install dynalite integration but when i click on add integration on website it redirects but it gets aborted and i couldn't find another way to install it
I am new to all of this
@austere oyster anything you find here: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations#all is an integration. Add-ons are not the same as integrations
so the correct channel is #integrations-archived
And looking at the docs, it looks like you add that integration using configuration.yaml
I'm not familiar with it. I see it can be found in the UI too but no mention of that in the docs
@sly kindle i will try using this thankyou
Im getting issues now with influxdb having stale or no data from sensors even tho HA is configured to push all. U sure it was mqtt? Mine shouldn't have anything to do with mqtt..hmm
Hello together, I am kind of lost in here. I got problems withe my first steps using AppDaemon. The Log says ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'hassapi'
reinstall the add-on
Still the same .. hmmm .. any other idea what I could have messed up? As I understood the add-on is pre configured. Is it wrong to use import hassapi as hass?
Try asking on their discord server
Where can I find it?
@iron otter https://discord.com/invite/pHsjADY
In my case it was, the data I was missing is fetched from a remote MQTT server using a mirror on the local one, ssl expired on remote one and the local refused to connect to it, that's why I was missing historical data
hello i'm trying to install some esphome sensor i have the device pluged into my pc and using the https from nabucasa
but only shows COM1
and do nothing =/
do i need to install the default drivers on my pc before using esphome?
is esphome installed on your pc?
yes
you have homeassistant on the same pc the senor is pugged in to?
yeah the drivers will be needed for the pc if they aren't already there
what is HA installed on? you can't plug it in there?
i'ts on a vm in my hserver but for some reason it does not detect the device there
and cannot passtru
Hi all, new user here. Hi, do you have a recommendation for adding multiple UPS’ to a Synology so that they can be added to HomeAssistant for monitoring? Currently I have two UPS’ connected to one Synology DS920+ but only one is being detected and added to HomeAssistant via NUT. What is the best way to monitor multiple UPS in HA?
A UPS plugs into a USB port of the Synology and you enable the Synology to act as a NUT server. Then you go into HA and apply the IP and the port # of the Synology and it reads it and then fetches information. I tried my two UPS and it worked and fetched the information. What if I got a USB hub and then plugged all my UPS into it and then used the hub in one of the Synology’s ports. I wonder if it would pull multiple devices.
Anybody know of an alternative to mopidy on a 64bit arm? I mainly wanted tts support for the local audio device, as well as Spotify (which works good with Spotify connect addon)
anyone using rhasspy for voice recognition? Im wondering if its possible to have apple watch steam audio to it somehow (as an alternative to siri)
I was planning on using almond for answering questions. But I see that it doesn't have any services to call from home assistant. Is this possible? So for example I want to trigger a tts when I come into the livingroom asking me if I would like the blinds to open after which I want to use almond to answer the question with yes or no. In which the blinds open or not
My home needs te be smarter then waiting for me to ask things. I want my home to ask me stuff in which I can answer
hi
im looking for a web browser add-ons , anyone have any idea
I'm unclear on how that would work
I'm looking for suggestions on automatically backing up my home assistant OS install to the cloud or some alternate location. Google pointed me to "Auto Backup" by Marcelveldt. I add his repo to the add-ons store but the add-on appears to be gone.
https://community.home-assistant.io/t/hass-io-add-on-auto-backup/99557
Does anyone have other suggestions they've used for this capability?
(Edit: this bug is already fixed) I found a ESPHome bug with the new API encryption. It works on 6 ESP32 but on some older ESP8266/esp8285 board connecting just fails. I checked the generated C++ code (which is fine). Anybody noticed this or willing to help debugging?
yes otto fixed that - some nasty asmbler bug 😦
I am still experiencing this so I'm not sure that it is fixed I'm on the latest version as far as I can tell (2021.9.2)
@warped vector esphome?
yes
2021.9.2 is what I have
oh yeah me too I just looked in the wrong place
HA is on 2021.10.0
im on that too
I tried totally reinstalling esphome over usb but it didn't work
I got an answer over at the esp home discord and apparently the fix for the encryption bug is coming in 9.3
Thanks, I found the same one in one of the comments on the original. Installed it and already made a backup to g-drive, seems to work well.
I'm successfully using the DuckDNS add-on to access my HA instance from outside the LAN. Can I use this service for more than one system? I have setup a Linux server in a VirtualBox VM which I need to access from outside. Is it as simple as setting up a new host on DuckDNS and a new port forwarding entry on the router to another port?
@sharp trench while it could, you might consider throwing reverse proxy hosting into it with nginx proxy manager. NPM can also get certs, so you could disable that for duckdns. DuckDNS allows for subdomains so you could do xxxx.yourduckdns.duckdns.org going to HA and yyyy.yourduckdns.duckdns.org going to the other server, etc.
So you're saying I could run NPM next to DuckDNS with NPM taking care of the certs while DuckDNS addresses the subdomains?. Networking's not really my forte but certs are server specific right meaning if I have xxxx going to HA and yyyy going to the other server I have two sets of certs
Yeah NPM would handle the certs and the forwarding, so your router only needs to forward 443 and 80 to NPM
You don't have to use NPM for the certs
But I prefer it for whatever reason. It's LetsEncrypt either way
Oh cool. So no router ports
@sharp trench use the duckdns DNS challenge method and it's even better
Oh ok, thanks guys. Will look at the HA NPM add-on over the weekend
I was install Solar power 13.3Kw/h with SMA Sunny 10Kw inverter and SMA Home Manager 2.0 can someone help me with integration? When I install SMA integration I get ony stuff from Inverter do someone now how to get from home managet that I an setup house consumption and other stuff
can anyone please make sense of this error when I try to install duckdns?
Can't install homeassistant/aarch64-addon-duckdns:1.14.0: 500 Server Error for http+docker://localhost/v1.41/images/create?tag=1.14.0&fromImage=homeassistant%2Faarch64-addon-duckdns: Internal Server Error ("error parsing HTTP 408 response body: invalid character '<' looking for beginning of value: "<html><body><h1>408 Request Time-out</h1>\nYour browser didn't send a complete request in time.\n</body></html>\n\n"")
Partial success.
Installed the Nginx addon on Home Assistant, added the host to the Linux server and configured port forwarding. I can successfully connect to that host from outside the network - unsecurely.
Then I tried to enable SSL in Nginx but I can't find DuckDNS in the DNS challenge dropdown so I tried 'Force SSL' and got an 'Internal error'. I left the DuckDNS add-on running on Home Assistant. Does DuckDNS clash with Nginx?
Hi,
I cant start the Esphome add-on after updating the system.

Does anyone know if its possible to get Samba share to work without enabling password-protected sharing on windows?
Hi,
i have small python script which running as "standalone". It's basically a MQTT bridge to relay controller what communicates via UDP messages. I tried to get it running on multiple ways nothing works. I have read a tons of tutorials but most of them is out-dated somehow or then i just don't understand properly. I don't need to have call that script.. so basically it just need to start when HA starts and restart if crashing.
Can someone give a hint or suggestion how to continue. I'm not so familiar with Python, I'm JS developer
@hidden orbit reinstal the addon
Anyone know if I can make the samba share discoverable on my network? I have the addon running, and I can connect to it by going to \\192.168.XX but in the Network window it doesn't show up?
Hey guys, after 3 power outages in the last 15 mins, my duckdns isn't working anymore, i'm always getting the msg:
problems making Certificate Request
[00:27:47] WARNING: KO
anybody already had the same issue?
any kind of letsencrypt rate limit?
Does anyone know why my camera feeds (RTSP) don't bring any audio with motionEye. With VLC there is audio.
Anyone able to tell me how I can install PVOutput? It's not on the store or integrations
Yeah I can find it on that page. But it's not showing up inside of Home Assistant under Supervisor > Addo-on Store or Configure > Integrations
It's not an addon, so you can stop checking the addon store. It's not in the UI, because not all integrations have been moved to the UI
Always check the integrations web page
So this will need to be done via SSH or something similar?
Thank you very much. Seems like I'm winning now
Hello there,
I came across an other mindly frustrating thing.
If I open any add-on (like esphome or nodered) I got 401: Unauthorized
But if I open it private chrome it is working fine.
Is anyone came across something like this?
@turbid hamlet Firefox. Click on the shield in the url bar, turn off enhanced tracking protection
all right, But my main browser is chrome 😄
Is there a workaround in chrome? or should force it?
What cause this?
@turbid hamlet oh I thought you meant you switched to chrome temporarily
If it's happening in Chrome that would be new. Do you have extensions for ads/tracking? The Firefox issue is caused by this being built in
i turned off add blocker, but the issue is still there. (not in private browser)
can someone help me understand how to install a MQTT broker on my HAAS container?
you use the Mosquitto addon
I run HAAS in a container, and therefore do not have access to addons
then you're posting in teh wrong channel
/which channel should I be in
it's not really an HA issue at all
starting a Mosquitto MQTT container is something you'd find by Googling
there's an Eclipse container that has detailed instructions
are you serious or just a troll?
completely serious
Why are you wasting my time answering when you are of no help?
why are you being a jerk?
Hi I'm using the room assistant add-on and I want to know how to make the gpio integration for it use the internal pull up resistors. I have asked on their GitHub but I haven't gotten a reply so any information is appreciated
Hi, I have a problem when I try to install any addons system shows this message: ------> Can't install homeassistant/aarch64-addon-ssh:9.2.1: 500 Server Error for http+docker://localhost/v1.41/images/create?tag=9.2.1&fromImage=homeassistant%2Faarch64-addon-ssh: Internal Server Error ("toomanyrequests: You have reached your pull rate limit. You may increase the limit by authenticating and upgrading: https://www.docker.com/increase-rate-limit") -----> So my question is how can I increase this limitation?
Hello everyone, I would like to use prometheus (https://github.com/hassio-addons/addon-prometheus/blob/main/prometheus/DOCS.md) for monitoring my Room assistant instances (https://www.room-assistant.io/guide/monitoring.html#metrics). I got the addon installed, and created a target file Target_RA.yml in the right directory as listed. When I go to the Prometheus tab, it doesn't show me anything. Any advice ?
Thanks 🌹
Hello!
I want to install https://custom-components.github.io/ble_monitor/Installation
But I stuck at step 0! 😄
"Grant permissions for Python"
I should run a terminal commands.
I installed a terminal and ssh add-on to my HA, but that is not a linux command line.
Is there a way to access a the linux commend line not tha HA one? Thanks! 🙂
This is usually only needed for alternative installations of Home Assistant that only install Home Assistant core.
Okay, but anyway, is there a way to access a the linux shell with HA OS running on rpi4?
On the host, but you shouldn't have a need unless you are having issues
The ssh add-ons provide access to the mapped directories and the custom commands. Good for when you don't have access to the frontend.
You don't install packages on the host OS. It's there is to run docker and talk to hardware. You add functionality through addons.
okay, thank you! 🙂
I thought HA OS is like octoprint. You can do other stuff on your rpi beside running an octoprint instance.
Octoprint is installed on Rpi OS.
But even then, I don't see Rpi as multifunction, and I dedicated a pi3 to octoprint. It wasn't there to run other things, it was there to use with my printers.
okay, thank you. It is a little bit clearer now.
I'm trying to install https://github.com/hassio-addons/addon-aircast.git although I can't find that addon in the Supervisor > Add-on Store
@gritty crown there are two addon repositories by default: core and community repos. There are other addons where you need to add their respective repos first, but that one is in the community repo. If you aren't seeing it you may need to manually add it
Saw in the latest release notes that zwave migration tool was in home assistant but couldn't find any instructions or other links referencing this
Trying to figure out how I access the migration wizard.
If I wanted to do something like RTSP camera -> Frigate -> NVR, what would be the best way of doing that?
I'm having an issue with every addon with a webGUI giving me a 401 - Unauthorized error.
I'm using the latest version (core-2021.10.3, running on a rpi4) on my local LAN.
I have noticed this on Grocy, Visual Studio Code and Node-Red.
The add-ons are running, I've tried to start them from the sidebar or the supervisor.
I've tested it in Firefox, Chrome and Edge on windows 10 (all latest versions).
Yes, I've cleared my cache 🙂
What am I missing?
whats the browsers web address when it shows you a 401?
For Node-Red, for example, it's http://homeassistant.local:8123/hassio/ingress/a0d7b954_nodered
It started working in Edge, somehow, today. Still no go in Chrome & Firefox. Must be something on my side, though.
what if you paste this url into chrome, but with an https address? same problem?
strange that the 401 is coming form server, yet it works ok in Edge
The port there at the address is biting at me... I'm thinking maybe he doesn't have the right port forwarding to begin with, even though he's local.
i access lovelace via that port
although i dont have the hassio/ingress bit in the url. Maybe you installed differently to me
(that bits not necessarily wrong though)
maybe check what you have internal url set to in HA config -> General
I did access my HA through that port as well but I noticed I had problems with my CAs. Spent a while looking into stuff in detail and figured the port forwarding was wrong, now it's perfect. I had some problems with a few add-ons because of that so I'm kinda like eeeeeh... Is that right? 😅
I did it before the general thing BTW. Now moved it into the general but if I put my old url in it will break again.
does anyone use the "Letsencrypt" add-on with the http challenge?
im struggling to access the api via my browser for the deconz add on
anyone know how to do it?
hi all, i need help for adguard home, the addon opens the socket only on 127.0.0.1 but not on ip 192.168.10.x, is there a way to force the socket to open?
Supervised? 🙂
yes
Most likely caused by running an unsupported system
the interfaces to bind on, is provided by the Supervisor
If the system isn't running correctly, the network data may be wrong
only for port of DOH? all rest of service work great
hmm
that is a different issue than I had in mind
no clue on why that is from the top of my head
could you raise an issue on the add-on repo?
this is log of addon;
@plush cove posted a code wall, it is moved here --> https://hastebin.com/epefubayel
interesting
I would expect adguard to use the defined bind interfaces
as it does for the dns & DoT
me too😅
i search in docker file to edit configuration ti bind correct but dont have luke

Hey guys! I've been having a lot of troubles trying to get the Grocy add-on to work properly... I keep getting a 502 from nginx. I'm FAIRLY capable with Docker and Nginx, but throw in the trusted proxy configurations, etc, and I'm starting to get lost in troubleshooting it. I was initially adding to the complexity by routing through a reverse SSH tunnel and a k3s cluster, but I have removed those obstacles and am having problems accessing it directly at HA's IP... I've also installed the HACS Grocy integration, but I think it expects that we're at least making it to PHP... Any guidance would be amazing!
Mission: Properly configure nginx 😛
I have a question about Node-RED. I create an entity, that I want to use in HA. I entered (static) values for attribs and state. The data isn't updated in realtime. How can I trigger an update?
(please give me a hint if there is a Node-RED Discord/Channel)
Hi, I can not find ADB Android Debug in add on store.
Does anyone know how to login using the Matrix add-on without SSO?
My Element.io account isnt SSO.
Its by email.
It’s no longer required. Just use the python version with the integration
python version???, where can i find it or what exactly do you mean?.
are you using it with the AndroidTV or FireTV integration?
Android TV Xiaomi Mi Stick
the docs go into it, then
right at the top, in the big "note" box: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/androidtv/
i don't see my tv in ha
ok
ok?
you asked about where the addon was
this seems to be a different problem
I don't have your particular AndroidTV stick, but you should be able to get the integration to see it if you follow the instructions there
hi, just now, i updated OS and then CORE, and now it seems none of my MQTT devices connect, so checking the add-on logs for the broker, I see:
[09:21:04] INFO: Starting mosquitto MQTT broker...
1634044877: Error: Couldn't open database.
a reboot/restart hasn't help, so was wondering about what to do next....
@clear harbor did you only restart HA?
twice 🙂
From configuration > server controls?
Because that only restarts HA and nothing else
Did you restart the broker?
The addon
I actually tried it all, including the VM, MQTT service and HA
Ok. In that case I would uninstall and reinstall the addon.
It's complaining about the database, but that's the mosquito database
yes, was thinking the same since aside from the config and keys, i don't think there's too much state there -- thanks for the suggestion and i'll give it a go
Yeah you can just copy the old config into your clipboard even, then paste it back in
I'm trying to figure out how to connect my Roborock S7 to homeassistant; but I am having some issues. I found a similar issue on the community forums as follows (https://community.home-assistant.io/t/roborock-s7-entity-always-unavailable/330361). I cannot access the logs however as I am now also getting 400: bad request and 401: unauthorized when trying to access the file editor extension. How do I resolve the issue so that I can see my logs?
@chilly eagle anything you find here: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations#all is an integration. Add-ons are not the same as integrations.
Can you get to Configuration > Logs?
I am asking a question related to nginx/let'sencrypt (or well, re-asking) as I am having issues connecting to things.
Ill check config logs now.
And are you using Firefox?
Yes, firefox.
Click the shield in the URL bar, turn off enhanced protection for this site
That should fix your ingress issue
I'm still getting the 400 from external connections with this error in the config->logs:
Source: components/http/forwarded.py:112
Integration: HTTP (documentation, issues)
First occurred: 7:00:14 PM (3 occurrences)
Last logged: 7:00:31 PM
A request from a reverse proxy was received from 172.30.33.2, but your HTTP integration is not set-up for reverse proxies```
But that is not my IP
As a trusted proxy then, right?
I'm adding this to the nginx addon config right? I just did and no luck so far.
Disabling enhanced tracking protection does allow me to access the file editor though.
So I'm seeing it should go in the main configuration.yaml (Which I am now doing through the file editor). Is there a better way of editing configuration.yaml?
Just wanted to check back in to inform you that all is now good again. Thank you for your help!
sorry had to step out, so this is too late but "no wrong place!" 😆
I clicked the last message with a green name, but whoops. You're the one that did most of the heavy lifting xD
Just checking back in, all is good again now. Thanks so much for your help cogneato 🙂
While working on solving the add-on issues I also found the issue with the integration (multiple VLANs) I still have to figure out a secure fix, but temporarily, the vacuum is allowed on the main wifi.
hi last week when i tried to update ha and my sd got bricked. So i said no problem. Now i try to set up on a new one. But i cant work mqtt. My nodemcu's connect to mosquitto but cant send or recieve. When i check in HA it seems it can send or recieve data. I can change values for my sensors from integration test. But i cant with my nodemcu's. Need help
If there is nothing wrong with the addon, as evidenced by your indication that Home Assistant can communicate successfully with the broker then the fault lies with your nodemcu configuration. Which means your question does not belong here. So I can direct you to the correct channel, what do you have running on the nodemcus? ESphome, Tasmota, custom sketch?
Using Mosquitto add on with octopi, I can’t get octoprint to connect to the MQTT broker. I added a user to the MQTT broker and set it up in octoprint. I’ll send my existing Configs and I would love if someone could sanity check me (note: I don’t care about leaking the password, I changed it for the screenshots.)
I enabled the password settings in Octoprint as they weren't enabled by default and added a user to the users list on HA. The broker is working, I tested it as you can see in my last image but I don't see Octoprint connecting to it.
Any ideas would be lovely.
Oh I can't upload images.... one sec
@jolly ridge posted a code wall, it is moved here --> https://hastebin.com/facagefigi
Here are the images of Octoprint and HA: https://imgur.com/a/VGwZHdA
@jolly ridge octoprint is on the same machine as the broker?
If not, then you might change core-mosquitto to the IP address of HA in the host field of octoprint
@sly kindle it is not, HA and the broker are on one machine and octoprint another. I’ll try moving to using an IP instead of the hostname
@jolly ridge yeah if you use a hostname, it would be the hostname of the HA host. core-mosquitto is the hostname of the container, which octoprint is probably not going to see
idk where this message should go, but i'm setting up HA and when doing NGINX, it keeps giving me the error: Internal Error, when setting up SSL....any suggestions?
Hello, I've successfully created an SSL script using the Let's Encrypt add-on, but for some reason when I add the following lines to my config and restart HA I'm unable to access the site when it comes back online. I did validate that the files exist in the directory as well. Did I miss a step?
ssl_certificate: /ssl/fullchain.pem
ssl_key: /ssl/privkey.pem```
i am using custom sketch. But nothing changed. Yesterday i tried mqtt explorer and ha recieved data without problem. That also direct me to nodemcu. In my sketch i ve define only ip adress, user and pass. maybe something changed and need to add other parameters.
I am looking for an addon repo for TasmoBackup. It is not in the default repo of the addon store. Does such a repo exist?
best to google for 3rd party repos. This one? https://github.com/danmed/TasmoBackupV1
yes thats just the container, no integration as an addon in HASSOS
no that addon folder is for manually installed addons
Add the repo to the addon store
thats what I was looking for
yeah, thanks I got it installed already
do I need any add-ons to control my Geeni and Monster devices?
hi everyone, got a weird one. intalled ad guard through intergrations on my home assistant and the program is in spanish???
duh theres a language option on the bottom
weird that it defaults to spansih
oh well :0
How do I make sure that Frigate is able to access my gpu for video processing?
make sure it's not protected, it should get what it needs then
Anyone else installed hacs recently? I'm getting "hacs is disabled rate limited will reset in 1 hour" but its been an hour
HACS isn't an addon and doesn't have addons. Sometimes it can take longer than an hour
if it continues to be a problem, you may want to post in the HACS server: https://discord.gg/VRzdnQuZ
Yeah i didn't know which channel to put the question in, didn't think it fell under integrations, frontend templates or cloud etc
it's an integration
alright, cheers for the link. Apologies about the wrong channel
no worries
Hello everyone I am having an issue with the wireguard add-on where I can not get to devices on the same network segment as my HA instance, but I can get to a different segment that has my sensors.
I am running this on a brand new HA Blue this is the fifth or sixth integration I have installed on the new device. I have posted my config here https://github.com/bsquared1/wireguard
Can someone help me please??? I reinstalled hassos on an rpi3 with the 64bit flavor so I could update the unifi addon. After restoring the backup I made before wiping the 32 bit os, the machine was never responsive...to make a long story short, the unifi addon appears to be eating swap space until there's nothing left and the server load then spirals out of control. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the addon to no avail. If I never start the addon after rebooting, everything runs fine. Any help with this would be very appreciated. I've been working on it for 2 days now.
Anyone using Mail and Packages that can tell me how to prevent it from flooding images?
Is the Z-Wave JS to MQTT addon something I'd need to control z-wave switches with HA?
Or the zwave_js addon. Or a separate container
Yeah I've got the zwave_js addon
Then you just need that and the zwave_js integration
Yup I've got the controller dongle set up
Hi - I need to make an edit to a node-red node. Kermit in the mode red channel suggested the following.
I am guessing you're running NR as a HA add-on? You'll need access to the docker shell of the NR container, best bet is asking in the add-ons channel about shell access. After you get access you should be able to find the node_modules directory and then in there the node-red-contrib-lgtv directory
How should I go about this?
You don't
you should report with node-red-contrib-lgtv
hacking around in those files, will A) not help you on the long term, B) will not help anyone else
C) If you have to ask this question, you are most likely going to run into issues and likely to break stuff
Yes reported the issue. No response.
I’m open to suggestions!
fork it, adjust the code, test it, publish it on npm, install and use 🙂
although looking at the repository above, its kinda wild that in 2 years nobody made a PR or contribution
while having patches written in the issue tracker 🤷♂️
I know! I’d love to do that but def over my head!
Hello. Is the data_path config for the zigbee2mqtt add-on strictly necessary?
I'm asking because my /share folder is empty, even though it states that the default value for data_path should be /share/zigbee2mqtt.
And I'm asking that because it doesn't seem like my zigbee2mqtt configuration is updating, even though I change the configuration for the add-on. I'm trying to disable some of the legacy flags, and they are displayed as false in the supervisor configuration for the add-on, but are not mentioned in the configuration found in /config/zigbee2mqtt/configuration.yaml. And in the Settings tab in zigbee2mqtt itself, they are still enabled.
My data path is set to /config/zigbee2mqtt and it does not read/obey my external converter device files in this directory. There's a bug in the current version that overrides device config files with the system files so maybe that is also affecting you? Either roll back to the last version, or if that is not possible, wait for the next. https://github.com/Koenkk/zigbee-herdsman-converters/issues/3133#issuecomment-938687353 EDIT: or try the Edge (dev) version.
Thanks, I'll investigate that. Also, I found in their changelog that the default data_path was changed from /share to /config. But it still doesn't reload my config, efter after changing it and restarting z2m.
I would like to migrate away from the abandoned zwave2mqtt (container) to the zwave-js2mqtt on hassos add-on store. I installed the zwave-js add-on, but I am unsure if it also contains zwave-js2mqtt. I tried to add https://github.com/zwave-js/zwavejs2mqtt as an add-on repo, but that did not work. any advice?
@sharp elk zwavejs is a core addon with no "2mqtt"
The one you want is in the community addon repo
So, no need to add the repo, assuming you have the community addon repo showing in your addon store
Thanks, I must have been blind.
You found it?
yes
Hi everyone, I use DuckDNS and NGINX addons for my Home assistant setup. They're working properly, but I'm also trying to set up Grocy, and it's giving a ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH whenever I try to access directly via port instead of through home assistant. Does anyone have an idea what I might be doing wrong?
Does Grocy need a different Public key algorithm? I know the DuckDNS addon uses secp384r1 by default.
if I set ssl: false in the grocy config, I am able to connect directly via IP/port, but with ssl:true I get the error above. this is using the same certfile/keyfile I use for HA.
Why are most of the entities from the z2m add-on disabled by default?
Hi,
it's been months without visiting the "add-on store" tab on my HassOs RPi4
I did it today and I've been surprised by the low amount of add-on available (only 23)
I remember few months ago there was surely the double
What did happen ? is there some changes in the way we can install add-ons now ?
for example I cannot see "nodered" "influxdb"
My config: core-2021.10.4 / supervisor-2021.10.0 / Home Assistant OS 6.5 / RPi4 8Go
any ideas ?
are you missing the Home Assistant Community Add-ons?
maybe... I don't know
I just remember few months or weeks ago there was certainly more than 23 icons available. I do not have "nodered" or "influxdb" icons
I have only "Official add-ons" icons and that's all
21-10-15 19:06:55 INFO (MainThread) [supervisor.store] Loading add-ons from store: 64 all - 40 new - 0 remove from the logs
they are back, thanks to you, I just add repo from github (https://github.com/hassio-addons/repository)
that's really strange, I've never done nothing to delete them... well they are back as I said
@scarlet spear you should see the config entities enabled. A lot of the info entities are disabled
And it's up to the user to enable them if needed
Eh...typo'd that. I meant config entities should be enabled by default
Am I not supposed to use them? I would like to make an automation that handles more than just a single action of my on/off IKEA buttons. The sensor states seem to be the easiest way. I'm using Z2M, by the way.
I just mean in general
Here's a light I have
The light itself is enabled by default
All the extra stuff is disabled, and it's up to me. This avoids default clutter
I enabled the IP as I wanted to see that
There are all these others, but I'm not interested in having them in my entities
Hmm, okay. That does make sense. I was using ZHA before, and that one had so many entities.
If every tasmota device I had enabled everything by default, I would have tons of crud
I should say, if HA enabled every entity
Side quest; 😉 Those tasmota devices, are they tuya? I heard they changed the firmware so they can't be flashed any more.
This is actually going to see some changes soon, and the entities are going to be broken up into config and diganostic "groups"
I have so many questions. It feels like the HA learning curve is so steep.
Yeah most of my tasmota are bulbs or wifi switches which I used tuya-convert with back in the day.
Harder to do now OTA.
Can it still be done via serial flashing?
Yeah, or actually swapping out chips if that's your thing
I am not that desperate...yet. These Martin Jerry dimmer switches have been good. I've had a few bulbs die on me though.
If I had to replace things now I would probably look at Shelly, Athom, and more esphome
Okay, thanks. But about the automations; are you only supposed to have each automation only handle a single action?
There's a discord server for Digiblur's YouTube channel where all this swapping and converting is very popular
@scarlet spear no you can have more complex automations. #automations-archived is the best place to explore that
Right, thanks. It seems a bit primitive to have both a "3D printer on" and a "3D printer off" automation.
Frigate won't play a clip it recorded, it just loads and loads forever
Are there any addons for HPFeeds?

I'm trying to get my NGIX proxy manager to work, and my ports are definitely forwarded, but it doesn't seem like anything is running on 443 or 80 somehow.. port checkers show up as closed.
It's proxied through cloudflare for security, I don't really want to test it without for privacy reasons. The image above is what is showing after about 30-40 seconds of a blank page as it tries to load.
what service replaced ADB?
trying to get this script for nvidia remote finder to work
'''

It’s still there
To format your text as code, enter three backticks on the first line, press Enter for a new line, paste your code, press Enter again for another new line, and lastly three more backticks. Here's an example
Don't forget you can edit your post rather than repeatedly posting the same thing.
For over 15 lines you must use a code share site such as https://www.codepile.net/ (pick YAML for the language) or https://paste.debian.net/ (pick YAML for the language).
when I try to run, I get "Failed to call service script/nvidia_shield_remote_finder. Unable to find service androidtv.adb_command"
Then your config is broken somehow
as in device?
If you were using an adb server in the past, then you just need to remove the adb_server_ip line
No, your android_tv config
I never setup ADB as an add on and I see it's no longer in add on store
I see all of my devices through the Google Cast integration
Morning
What would the appropriate place be to raise a low prio bug for the following?
I am getting warnings in my log for addons I have not installed.
(AdGuard and Unifi still have to rename from Snapshot to Backup)
I could of course raise individual bugs that the maintainers of those addons should do that, but I feel things I have not ever installed should not even be getting evaluated.
You have the repositories that contain those addons though. Just ignore it. The addon devs are aware those need updating.
how can i add visual studio or portioner to the side bar like under media browser on the left side?
oo
in lovelace-buttons where in the heck is this Then at the top of the raw edit mode paste these button templates:
Hi everyone 👋 ,
Is it possible to use #vscode from Windows to edit files on homeassistant_os ?
I'm getting this error.
The remote host may not meet VS Code Server's prerequisites for glibc and libstdc++
The easiest way is to use Samba to connect to your config directory
There is an experimental addon that supports the VSCode code-server, too. But you can’t just tell VSCode to set up a remote environment without that addon, as you noticed
Ok @viscid orchid , thank's for your reply.
I'm gonna try right now.
The VSCode Remote addon is here, but you’ll need to add the Edge repo to install it: https://github.com/hassio-addons/addon-vscode-remote
Nice ! But I'll stay under stable version for the moment.
Thank's for the tip. Maybe I'll try later
From the samba share, can I edit all items in Lovelace, especially the main configuration.yaml.
It's not the same as http://192.168.1.XX:8123/lovelace/default_view?edit=1 ?
if you're using Lovelace in "storage"mode, you can't edit it that way
Hi. I am trying to play one of several online radio sources using the 3.5 jack of my raspberry pi. But I am confused. I only have speakers with a 3.5mm plug and my Raspberry with HA.
Tell me what kind of plug-in for playing online radio through the 3.5 connector. Or maybe there is a solution for playing sound on 2-3 Bluetooth speakers from my Raspberry pi...
please
I'm starting from the base config on #330990055533576204 .
All i have done for the moment is ssh server, samba share, and add few lights.
What is the right way please ?
it's up to you. most folks use the default, which is "storage" mode and allows you to edit Lovelace from the UI
I use YAML mode, which allows me to edit the file directly, but not from the UI
@viscid orchid Ok, I understand now.
As both of them are yaml syntax, I thought i can from both yaml file in samba share and UI.
No problem. I stay on the UI for the moment.
if you're editing via the UI, the Lovelace config is stored in JSON in the config/.storage directory - any YAML config isn't used
you can do one or the other, but not both at once
OK. Good. But on the UI editor, when I edit, I see yml syntax and no json.
in the UI, but not anywhere in the filesystem
Ok.
the point is that you won't be able to edit that from VSCode
