Hi all, got a quick question. I'm setting up SSH on my HA. However, when I'm trying to connect via my windows PC I get the following error: Corrupted MAC on input. Anyone know whats happening here?

fervent skiff
#

Do you know how to backup only options.json config from addon? I have for example Git Exporter to backup config on git repository but HA backups it including whole repo copy. I already created discussion on developer's side but I'm not sure if it's issue with bad addon design or I can avoid it also with HA.

Anyone else having issues with adguard no longer working or blocking queries.
For some strange reason since 11-01-2024 adguard stopped working.

The weirdest part aside from updating HASS I haven't changed anything in terms of addons/integrations.

elder schooner
#

Nope. It is working as usual.

upper night
#

Its really weird. as queries aren't updating, and only show very little logs.

The only thing I can think of that might have caused it was a Power-outage due the utilities company working on the powerlines [with me shutting down HASS Completely, the night prior].

#

What would be things I could test that might resolve the issue?

Try something like nslookup google.com IPOFADGUARDHERE and check the adguard query logs.

Hi all! Anyone here is using Grafana addon? I have an issue that from the value menu that i cant select "average'' and ''current''. Any idea why?

Ok. stumped... I was working on a fresh HAOS install on a NUC got it up and running and started configuring addons and ran into some SSL issues yesterday. This morning I started from scratch HAOS installed, added file editor plugin as my first, and when I click to go into the sidebar, I just get a 401: Unauthorized error. I was getting this before on the first install, but not until I started messing with configs, now on a fresh install I am getting it.. any thoughts?

Is there a guide for updating the Nginx Proxy Managers for a newbie like me? I wrote down my existing proxies, installed the update logged in, change user. Hi All, Recently installed ZWaveJS UI; got through uninstalling the ZWaveJS Addon, and i can control devices but none of the device names came over into ZUI. I can control the devices through both ZUI and my pre existing HA Dashboards, but not having the name and location data sync seems like something is missing.

It appears based on reviewing the jsonl files that were exported from the original config, the name property are blank?

{"k":"{\"nodeId\":33,\"commandClass\":119,\"endpoint\":0,\"property\":\"name\"}","v":"\u0000","ts":1705449098281}

{"k":"{\"nodeId\":33,\"commandClass\":119,\"endpoint\":0,\"property\":\"location\"}","v":"\u0000","ts":1705449099528}

Hello, I've hopefully got an easy one: can someone send a picture of their DNSmasq config screen? (Obviously blur out any sensitive information) Looking for a valid example of the "Hosts" field.

The documentation on github has an example of the config from back when it was configured via yaml. I can't quite get the hosts field formatted in a valid way when I use that as a reference.

granite wasp
#

Needing some guidance for a new HAOS setup - I want to have external access (DuckDNS) and have it generating Let's Encrypt cert which appears to be installed properly (as well as a firewall rule that should allow trafic to the NUC on 8123, but when i disconnect my phone from wifi, It does not appear to be working. Ultimately I believe I also need/want NGINX setup for the internal URL, do I also need to install Letsencrpyt on its own? I do not have my own domain that I am utilizing.

Seeming to have issues getting different addons play nicely or recognize the certs/keys, there a specific order things should be setup in or a better way to go about these things?

sly kindle
#

@granite wasp DuckDNS add-on handles the LE cert. You do not need the stand-alone LE add-on. That would be for if you had your own domain that wasn't using duckdns.

#

It would be better to go the NGINX route, maybe with Nginx Proxy Manager which also handles certs using LE.

granite wasp
sly kindle
#

Did you configure http: in configuration.yaml?

#

It's not enough to run the add-on and create the cert. You then need to configure HA to use it

granite wasp
#

I do have the Nginx ssl proxy installed, also running without error. Started with http: using the ddns lines with the ssl cert and key lines pointed to /ssl/privkey.pem

#

that is how Duck said to config it first, then NGINX says remove those and add the different config lines for http

#

use_x_forwarded_for: true
and trusted_proxies:

  • my.localHA.IP.Address
sly kindle
#

These two add-ons and their configuration aren't compatible without some deliberation. Some choices need to be made first.

granite wasp
#

Ok, maybe thats where im getting my wires crossed

sly kindle
#

To free up the internal address to be used without ssl enforced, you would not want duckdns handling the certificate, along with the http: configuration for that

#

those cert and key lines need to go, and the add-on needs to be configured to not handle it. (accept terms: false)

#

Then you have NPM doing that instead, and your port forwarding needs to change

granite wasp
#

so deleted the Duck http lines, added the NGINX lines in config and disabled Duck adon to be false.

#

what about PF needs to change?

floral quail
#

Hi, im trying to use homeassistant-addons-onstar2mqtt and when i configured and start the add-on i got this : error: Main function error. {"error":{"message":"Request Failed with status 401 - Unauthorized","request":

sly kindle
#

@granite wasp sorry, stepped away. the ports to forward would be 80 to 80 and 443 to 443 to your HA IP (or where npm is)

granite wasp
sly kindle
#

Do both of those addresses work right now?

granite wasp
#

Yep, http works internally

#

On a pc on network, as well as mobile device when on wifi, but disconnected it doesnt appear to work

sly kindle
#

So NPM would need to be configured with a proxy host entry for HA, and to get an LE cert. The http: config needs the use_x_forwarded_for: true and the trusted proxy address, which is actually the containers internal docker ip address or the network itself. You should be able to use - 172.30.33.0/24

granite wasp
#

and that 172 address is a universal/generic for HAOS container location I assume?

sly kindle
#

with the mask, it's the internal network the add-ons (containers) use

granite wasp
#

Ok, so updated that Http trusted address. do I also then need LE addon, or the one that Duck generated is ok?

sly kindle
#

NPM has its own LE function

#

no need for the LE add-on

granite wasp
#

Good to know, restarted everything and still no go externally

Hello!

Happy user of Hass OS for a while, just wondering about some ports within the audio add-on.

I was wondering if there would be any way to open ports 9875 and 9876 for RTP usage so that I'm able to have PulseAudio on another device (a RPi 4B) act as both the Speakers and Microphone of the system, and though the configuration seems to be working, I'm not sure if it's even possible to open a port in a running Docker container, or to edit it after creation

I have an issue with adguard fetching the cert from ngingx proxy manager...

However adguard cannot get it and displays the error message: reading cert file: open /addon_configs/a0d7b954_nginxproxymanager/letsencrypt/live/npm-1/fullchain.pem: no such file or directory

Hi guys. I got an issue with just 1 esphome device out of 7. It's an everything presence lite. Basically there's an update and it is always failing to install.
Part of the log where that begins to fail below:

Building wheel for cryptography (pyproject.toml): finished with status 'error'

× Building wheel for cryptography (pyproject.toml) did not run successfully.

I'm not sure how I can fix this. I spoke with Lewis from Everything home and he told me I may need to uninstall and re-install ESPHome. That said because it's working fine for other esphome devices I wonder if there is something else at play here

Thank you for your help 🙏🏻

does anyone know how I can connect to MQTT within a python AddOn? I am receiving authentication error but I don't know which user/password to use. I would like to use a default one which does not need setup.

jade wing
#

You'll have to create a user (in HA) - there's no default one, which would be terrible security

charred lily
#

okay - is there a different way to create a Device from within python without sending MQTT Discovery Messages?

jade wing
#

Create an integration that does it

charred lily
#

whats the AddOn for then?

river wharfBOT
#

#integrations-archived integrate Home Assistant with devices or services, or provide functionality within Home Assistant.

#add-ons-archived provide additional software or services, which an integration could possibility integrate with. Add-ons are for Home Assistant OS and Supervised only, other install methods can install software other ways.

charred lily
#

hmm.. I am not sure. I have setup a Thread Border Router and in this Thread Network there is a device which sends UDP pakets containing some information. I would like to receive this UDP Pakets and translate them into a device. Its a Sensor sending temperature, pressure, humidity and light information

jade wing
#

Well, the starting point is having something process those packets

charred lily
#

which would be the AddOn?

#

or an integration?

jade wing
#

Not sure, but if it's a Thread device surely it should work with the #thread-archived integration?

charred lily
#

the device already works but it is not sending Matter or any other known information. It simply just sends UDP Pakets.
which looks like this: thread_tags/8C8C14D62739A191{"alive":2448,"voltage":3.338,"light":120.406,"temperature":21.86,"humidity":27.70,"pressure":1007.83}
I need to translate this information into a Device of HA. My idea was to receive the UDP (which already works as an AddOn) and send thtis info via MQTT like MQTT Discovery from HA which then will create a Device

#

but I am not sure if this is the right way

#

maybe it can be done much easier

jade wing
#

MQTT is the simplest way

charred lily
#

except I have to create User/Password

jade wing
#

Sure

charred lily
#

is there a different way besides MQTT? to create this Device Entity and update it without using MQTT Discovery?

jade wing
#

Build an integration

#

integrations are how you add devices/entities to HA

#

MQTT is one, building your own is another

charred lily
#

okay then I will look into integrations

buoyant stratus
#

Understood. It's unfortunate as I'm seeing tons of tutorials doing good stuff with these addons. I'm in a spot, and have been, where I'd like to use addons but really don't see where virtualizing HA would be beneficial outside of these addons as I'm running about 25 contianers in addition to HA. I believe I'd end up having to keep adjusting the virtualized HA to give more resources and potentially 'robbing' resources from the other containers. I may be overthinking all of this but it certainly would be nice to have these addons without having to reorganize my HA install which has been working great since I started with 0.36 bare metal install and then moved to Docker. Apologies as this may be taken more as a rant than anything. I am certainly not owed anything.

viscid orchid

I suggest just focusing on the software that you want to install and the documentation and resources available for it. It all existed before addons and is used outside of the addon and HA ecosystem

My assumption is that some addons exist that are solely addons. I guess I'm jealous of the ease of install of these but also like the way I have things now as well. I certainly cannot see ever running on a Pi ever again but in the same breath HassOS has at least one feature that I'd like to have. /rant over 🙂

Hey, I'm using NGINX with duckdns to encrypt my nonlocal traffic, but if I try to connect to my public domain from within the network I don't get access to the server. Is there any way to be able to access home assistant locally both encrypted and unencrypted? I want to controll home assistant from google home but since I cannot access hassio encrypted within the network it can't get a connection :(

I have tried using only duckdns without NGINX to connect to my home assistant, but then I wasn't able to access home assistant unencrypted

You might consider to use another device path. The /dev/ttyACM0 might change. It is usually better to use the /dev/serial/by-id/... path. For a Conbee2 it should look similar to /dev/serial/by-id/usb-dresden_elektronik_ingenieurtechnik_GmbH_ConBee_II_DE1962254-if00
You can find your id-path with ls /dev/serial/by-id/

Hey all, I am trying to wrap my head around Spotify / Spotcast / Google Home speakers as it relates to groups.

For some reason, speaker groups in the GH app can be unreliable, but if I play media directly to a group that contains the same devices, it works fine.

Is there a way to use an HA media player group as a target player in Spotify?

I've installed both Spotify and Spotcast but as I understand it, the devices needs to be exposed in the Spotify API (play something on it) for it even to come up as a playback device in HA?

I can't access it from an external network and I think the error is here, because it didn't work as described, on my plain ipc it can't be accessed unless I write 8123 behind it and redirect 8123 to 443 in the wifi and then back to 8123 in the proxy

Anyone know of any self hosted rss feed reader add-ons out there?

elder schooner
zinc terrace
#

haha was literally going to link this. These are strange though, there's no "web ui" button

#

Like I installed both yarr and freshrss but when I start them there's no way to get a UI? It seems like they may even only be frontend or backend only offerings?

#

I mean looking at their configs, it doesn't seem like they specify ingress which I think they'd have to? I haven't done much addon dev

elder schooner
#

YARR UI seems to be called via port 7070, but in the network settings that should be changeable

zinc terrace
#

Ingress must be enabled. Set ingress: true in config.yaml.

#

Neither of those specify ingress. Also they have a single add-on repo but have the actual code split up into separate repos. I like the modularity but I'm not sure which config.yaml takes effect there lol

#

Not that it matters, none of them have ingress specified so I have no idea how you're supposed to get to a UI

elder schooner
#

FreshRSS is port 7077 by default

#

HA IP with port 7070 for YARR and 7077 for FreshRSS

zinc terrace
#

Yeah but where is ingress...the docs literally say you need it

#

Ingress allows users to access the add-on web interface via the Home Assistant UI.

elder schooner
#

No, the docs don't say you need it. You need to enable it, IF you want to use ingress

#

Vaultwarden is also not accessed via ingress

zinc terrace
#

And it has a UI? But why would you do that?

elder schooner
#

To access it independently from HA, for example. As a seperate webservice

#

I can access Vaultwarden and create accounts without granting access to HA

zinc terrace
#

Makes sense, maybe more so for a pw manager than rss reader though lol

elder schooner
#

You can still use RSS feeds in HA without add-ons

zinc terrace
#

Well I was looking for a reader specifically

elder schooner
#

You can integrate it in the HA UI with iframes (with the http/https caveats)

zinc terrace
#

Ah you mean like use an iframe with one of these self hosted readers? Maybe not a bad idea

elder schooner
#

But you cannot access it via a https connection, if the reader uses a http one

#

Warning
If you are accessing Home Assistant over HTTPS using SSL, you cannot access HTTP sites through an iframe panel.

zinc terrace
#

Yeah

elder schooner
#

Same for webpage cards

zinc terrace
#

Wait how is that different than iframe?

#

Oh that's just what it's called cuz most people don't know what an iframe is lol

#

Dunno if this will work though cuz these have login pages too

elder schooner
#

The webpage card is inside a dashboard, the iframe panel in the sidebar

zinc terrace
#

Not sure what you mean regarding the sidebar. It just has icons, no?

#

I know you can add custom icons to the sidebar, but I didn't think it had anything to do with iframes

elder schooner
zinc terrace
#

huh I'm not sure I was aware of this actually

#

I should probably get around to putting an nginx proxy in front of my instance so I don't have to deal with http in HA

Would it be a bad idea to use the Portainer add-on to create docker containers for SearXNG, Zotero, and Overleaf? I'd like to self-host each using their open source dockerfiles, but no add-ons exist, and I've really struggled to find anything beyond very basic documentation on creating an add-on - using Portainer seems like my only option.

elder schooner
#

Yes, that would be a bad idea

tropic cobalt
elder schooner
#

Breaking HAOS

tropic cobalt
elder schooner
#

Yes. Portainer has been depreciated as add-on (except some 3rd party repos), because it interferes with the Supervisor, which manages the containers of HAOS. Adding own containers might break the system

#

It has been used quite a lot for unsupported porposes, causing many issues, support questions and other problems.
If you run Home Assistant, please be aware that running additional containers is not a supported use-case and will trigger your system to be flagged as unsupported as well.

tropic cobalt
#

Hmm, okay. So my only option really is to learn how to create add-ons using the dockerfiles for those systems?

elder schooner
#

Or running HA as Docker container and replace add-ons by containers as well

I'd have to do that for every add-on, right? It's not possible to run Supervised from within a Docker container?

hey folks, I'm trying to trace back where an add-on in HACS is storing it's URL so I can submit a PR because the current state of it is that it's busted due to a URL change from the vendor.

I've looked over the code, and the URL is not stored in the code for the integration. It's not requested when the item is installed, so I'm figuring it's somewhere upstream or something. It's not in any of the files on my box that I can see (other than the logs, used grep -ri $URLHERE on the folder where all HASS configs are stored) What I'm not following is where that would be.

jade wing
#

HACS has no add-ons

#

it even reminds you of that when installing HACS

elder schooner
#

The variable settings (those which are configured on the add-ons settings page) of add-ons are stored on the OS file system.

drowsy cave
#

is there a better channel to ask about this? #dev maybe? trying to figure it out so I can be a good citizen and submit the PR to the repo. sorry for putting stuff in the wrong place(s) 😦

elder schooner
#

You are talking about different things. Add-ons and HACS integration. Without knowing, what exactly you are trying to do, nobody can say

jade wing
#

If you really mean HACS then you can't mean add-ons, since HACS has nothing to do with those

#

If you really mean add-ons then you don't mean HACS, as above

elder schooner
#

And the several configuration files will not help to create a PR to fix something

drowsy cave
#

sorry for not being clear. Here's what I've done/and am trying to solve:

I have HACS installed
From HACS, I searched for, and installed Ecowater Softener
Ecowater, the company that makes the softener, used to point their auth at wifi.ecowater.com, this has been changed to something different.
I want to submit a PR to the repo for the thing I installed from HACS with the appropriate update
I have searched the code in the repo and I don't see wifi.ecowater.com being set anywhere in the code
I have searched all the HASS related files on my system and do not see wifi.ecowater.com being set, I only see hits for it in the HASS logs

I'm trying to trace back where in the code the URL is being set. I'm not sure what the best channel to ask this question is.

elder schooner
#

If it would be, it would be a configuration error, not a bug

drowsy cave
#

the code is, somewhere, calling the old auth URL causing the thing installed from HACS to fail. There's nowhere on the local system that I can see this URL defined in configuration or anything. Which tells me the issue is somewhere in the code, but it's not.

Running HASS in a container, so I'm searching all the files on the file system related to HASS for anywhere that the URL is defined, nothing is coming up. My first thought was that the code had this statically set somewhere.

#

but this isn't the right channel, that much I get... trying to understand where to ask the question.

#

ah... found what I need. sorry folks 😄 it's not HASS, it is upstream

river wharfBOT
#

Don't ask to ask, just ask your question. Then people can answer when they're around.

When you do ask a question, try to provide as much background detail as possible. Ask yourself these questions first so that others don't have to:

  1. What version of the Home Assistant are you running? (remember, last isn't a version)
  2. What exactly are you trying to do that won't work?
  3. Is the problem uniform or erratic?
  4. What's the exact error message?
  5. When did it arise?
  6. What exactly don't you "get"?
  7. Can you share sample code, ideally with line errors where the error occurs?
#

@reef lantern Please do not cross post. Read the channel description, post it and wait for folks to respond. Crossposting wastes people's time as they're unaware of the help you're getting elsewhere.

If you don't get any responses after an hour or more, and your message is no longer on screen, it is fine to re-post or post a link to it.

Hey folks, trying to figure something out: I've got an add-on that randomly stops. Watchdog is enabled, and I figured that should auto-restart the add-on (I'm guessing it does this a certain number of times before it stops trying?) but the add-on stays in a stopped state. Is there a way I can change the behavior of watchdog for this specific add-on (like some conf file where I can take a look at watchdog settings) to make it so it ensures that the add-on is always running?

I did not get a response so I am re-posting this Grafana problem: Which URL is for the "data source" I have enanbled InfluxDB and Grafana Addons in HA on a RPI with Nabu Casa cloud service. Grafana is not getting any data. My Influx explore page says http://localhost:8086 and will display data. The Grafana Data sources asks for the URL of the data source and authorizations. I am not sure which URL Grafana needs or where to find it and if any authorizations are needed.

Hey guys, I'm running Uptime Kuma as an add-on, I want to move this service to another host. I see that backup/restore is broken in UptimeKuma, where can I find the ./data/ directory? I'm currently running the https://github.com/tteck/Proxmox HA deployment

supple grove
#

It's included in backups. Just do a partial backup of the addon.
The real path on the OS is at /mnt/data/supervisor/addons/data/a0d7b954_uptime-kuma/ but you need developer SSH to be able to access it. Another way would be to use docker cp to copy it to somewhere more accessible. These are obviously not the first choices but I still wanted to include them.

@dim grove I think I'm hitting an issue with your PS5 add-on and I'm not seeing anything in the git issues on it:

Failed to save add-on configuration, Missing option 'psn_accounts' in root in PS5 MQTT (df2164f9_ps5_mqtt). Got {'mqtt': {'host': 'core-mosquitto', 'port': 1883, 'user': 'someuser', 'pass': 'REDACT'}, 'logger': '@ha:ps5:*', 'device_check_interval': 5000, 'device_discovery_interval': 60000, 'account_check_interval': 5000, 'include_ps4_devices': False}

I've tried it in YAML and the same issue is there.

GUI for psn_accounts looks like this:

  npsso: !secret npsso.yaml
  preferred_ps5: MYPSNAMEHERE```

any suggestions for how to get around the issue?
dim grove
#

Have you tried without the !secret and tried using the yaml editor?

drowsy cave
#

you mean putting the raw token in there? if yes, haven't tried that yet.

tried yaml editor, same issue.

#

ok, without !secret it's working

#

in the npsso.yaml all I had was:

npsso_token: TOKENHERE

#

oh... I think I know what's up. let me try again

#

nope... that didn't do it. so not sure why it won't take the secret.

#

for the preferred PS5, is that just the name of the device as it appears in something like the ps remote play app?

Hi all, so I just bought a Broan-NuTone FG600RGBS LED RGB light for my fan in our bathroom. The light can be controlled via bluetooth and m HA box is close enough to control it. So I am wondering is there any addon for HA that can control this light?

sly kindle
#

@bright plank Add-ons are applications, services, and even other servers which extend functionality. Think of them as other software outside of HA. You are asking about an integration. In this case, a smart device that uses bluetooth likely only works with bluetooth, and you should avoid these in general. It's possible that the bluetooth integration may discover this device, but 🤷‍♂️

viscid orchid

they're called "addons", and it depends on the addon

nope. you need to see if the addons you want to access externally allow you to specify a port for access outside of HA

Hi all-- not sure if this is the right channel, but I've been struggling with getting rtl_433 to connect to my Mosquitto MQTT broker. I keep receiving the "MQTT connect error: Connection refused" and am 100% certain that I am using the right username, password, and port. Tried a very basic config file that defines only frequency and 'output mqtt://127.0.0.1:1883,user=<my username>,pass=<my pass>'. If I wipe out the config files, my test device begins to send data at regular intervals. If I try to uncomment the 'output' line again so as to push the data to Mosquitto, I receive the "connection refused" message and no device data appears in the rtl_433 logs.

All Mosquitto settings are at their defaults, and I confirmed that the username/passwords are correct.

Is this the right place for a little bit of troubleshooting help?

jade wing
#

mqtt://127.0.0.1:1883 why are you using loopback? That'll never work.

willow acorn
#

I've tried localhost as well as the HA local IP. Mosquitto is running locally

jade wing
#

As an add-on?

willow acorn
#

Yes

jade wing
#

core-mosquitto instead of 127.0.0.1 then

willow acorn
#

I'll try that out, stand by

#

Son of a.....looks like the connection is established, but device data isn't showing up in the logs yet. Going to see if adding another output line in the config file can let me write it to the log as well. Thank you! Might come back with a couple of questions shortly...

jade wing
#

Make sure the broker add-on is configured to expose 1883 to the network - the default is not

willow acorn
willow acorn
#

Turn out I overconfigured it...wiped out the config files, restarted rtl_433, it automatically connected to Mosquitto, set up the MQTT integration, and my device appeared!

If you can't reach it via the external ip there's no point going further with the DNS stuff. Some routers have a problem with connecting to the external ip. Maybe you could try if it's reachable with your phone's mobile data? Don't use WiFi 😄
As for the CGNAT I'd suggest googling for it.

extremely new to HA and the community. i've finally got the majority of my integrations done and used Nabu Casa to gain remote access and app functionality. can anyone help with setting up Adguard Home? I am having a hard time finding clear instructions to get this working. I've used adguard for years on mobile and this is a whole new level of complex for me.

supple grove
#

Install the addon, then either configure your router to give out adguard's ip to your clients as DNS server via DHCP or let the router use adguard as its DNS.
I don't recommend the addon though. Think about what happens on OS upgrades while it's down.

serene basalt
#

oh. like if the Pi goes down for whatever reason while upgrading?

supple grove
#

Addons are containers that run on the OS. When you upgrade the OS it reboots. During a reboot the software is not running. You also make the system depend upon itself.
The issue is that if you use a "fallback", as in give out multiple DNS server to your clients you have no control over which one they use making it kind off useless. I don't have a good solution other than using multiple adguard servers.

serene basalt
#

oh. i see what you're saying. I guess adgaurd is not really necessary as I've got it on all my mobile devices already and use adblock for our browsers. I was just hoping to have it up for guests so they can experience the luxury of not having ads.

supple grove
#

I use it as well, just not as addon. I just don't see how this wouldn't cause issues sooner or later but I encourage you to test it out and make your own experiences with it (and tell me about it).

yes it is, My SSD on my Raspberry Pi 4 recently died, causing me to lose all data. My backups were also on the SSD, and my Google Drive was always full.

I can only suggest making sure it's running. I don't have any other ideas at the moment.

I think it depends on the config.yaml and whether or not a port was set. For the rest one probably has to dive into the supervisor code. I did but can't link you to just one thing. Best I can do is this as a starting point: https://github.com/home-assistant/supervisor/blob/9c82ce4103b3e533a551f267f9c9b9799c73f476/supervisor/addons/addon.py#L370
When using a custom port, 64312 (I wanted to easily grep it) in my case, PortBindings/Ports in docker inspect goes from null/{} respectively to this

"PortBindings": {
  "80/tcp": [
    {
      "HostIp": "",
      "HostPort": "64312"
    }
  ]
},
"Ports": {
  "80/tcp": [
    {
      "HostIp": "0.0.0.0",
      "HostPort": "64312"
    },
    {
      "HostIp": "::",
      "HostPort": "64312"
    }
  ]
},

Also take note of the HA:CUSTOMPORT/api/hassio_ingress/ URL for grafana and see its port config: https://github.com/hassio-addons/addon-grafana/blob/main/grafana/config.yaml#L29
Also search for this:

Some addons such as samba use host_network for example.
Does that help?

I think I do understand, at least a bit
The config.yaml may either list a port mapping or a mapping to null to declare it as disabled, probably so that the ui still resolves the port description.
Looking at the influxdb addon config, this seems to align with what I am experiencing, that I can connect to the db from outside of homeassistant but not to the chronograf interface while this is available over the ui.

ingress_port:1337
ports:
80/tcp: null
8086/tcp: 8086
8088/tcp: 8088
I think I see that NodeRed somewhat forcefully exposes the UI over 1880 instead of using the ingress_port method based on it running through the host networking for likely technical reasons. Just how does it end up asking for a password (I suppose I would need to configure one) when I try to connect directly to the service vs I use it over the UI

Hi I have a question related to Deconz add-on. I have updated my conbee stick and after that i removed the existing config and added the conbee2 again. Only i am getting aN ip address in 170.33.x.x range, cannot connect from HA integration to this ... How is this IP address assigned and can it be changed ?

mint summit
# bitter skiff If you're looking at the remote, did you push?

I never push from vs code in the browser as it has problems related to github (ssh fingerprint).

I prefer to ssh to the HA machine and do the push there on the command line. Due to the "feature" I experience lately (I do not see the current changes in the browser) I do the add / commit on the command line. The result can be seen in the browser in form of a tree like display.

After my first commit I can no longer see the changed file(s).

#add-ons-archived provide additional software or services, which an integration could possibility integrate with. Add-ons are for Home Assistant OS and Supervised only, other install methods can install software other ways.

Hello! I was hoping for some advice setting up an RM4C Mini with Broadlink Manager. I'm actually using the standalone Docker image rather than the HA addon, but since (I believe) they're the same thing and there's no informal support channel for Broadlink Manager I hope it's okay to ask here.

Anyways, the device setup in the Broadlink app fails, but the device does manage to join my wifi and Home Assistant successfully finds and adds it. HA can then learn and send commands without issue. However it does not appear in the BM webui when trying to scan.

I think this is technically an addon question: Yesterday we had a power outage for a few hours, however HA is installed on a laptop. So the system itself never shut down, it just lost all sensors and an internet connection. Strangely it also seemed to have lost connection to its mariaDB instance which is installed on the same machine, As the battery percentage that is kept track off didn't update and the logs show lots of SQL errors related to networking.

Does all the data make a "weird" loop out of the laptop and straight back in but on a different port? That could explain the issues as the router obviously also lost power.
Because the laptop is worn, but it doesn't drop to 60% battery instantly

One of the example messages:
(Error executing query: (MySQLdb.OperationalError) (2002, "Can't connect to server on '192.168.1.36' (101)") (Background on this error at: [probably a explenation link])

I feel a bit silly asking this, but does the "Auto-Update" feature on add-ons actually do anything? I feel like I'm forever installing updates on add-ons when they show up in the notification feed and the notifications don't seem to just go away if I ignore them despite having auto update turned on.

#

And in another question, perhaps this one is for @raven tinsel if he is available as I see it's his Add-on:
AdGuard Home is telling me it is listening on address 127.0.0.1. Now obviously that can't be what I should have set my router to, so I set it to the static IP address that my Home Assistant OS on Pi is using, but no traffic is reaching it and Fing on my laptop is reporting that my primary DNS server is not available (I've set my secondary to 1.1.1.1 for now, so no issues right now). I fear I'm missing something obvious in my configuration though. Perhaps a port I need to expose somehow? Though the Network tab on the configuration page shows that it's already exposing port 53. I have just assumed that I shouldn't be specifying a port number with my DNS server settings on the router though, but perhaps I should be putting something like 192.168.0.149:53 rather than just 192.168.0.149?

Generally, don't tag people to ask for help - it comes across as bad manners, you’re demanding somebody answers you. It’s different if you’re thanking somebody, obviously. If you do tag somebody keep it polite and respectful. Remember that everybody is a volunteer, and nobody has to help you, and people may block you.

Similarly, please don’t DM (direct message) people asking for help. It also comes across as demanding, and means that others can’t learn from what you do.

Finally, please keep tagging people in replies to a minimum. That too can become annoying very quickly and should be used only when it's necessary (such as if it's been a long time, or there's multiple conversations going on). When using Discord's new Reply feature it defaults to pinging the person you reply to, click @ ON to @ OFF to stop this - on the right side of the compose bar.

yes, 127.0.0.1 is localhost, but not the point/related.

If you have no IP address listed @versed wren it means the Supervisor isn't aware of any interface

the UI is pulled in internally by HA

I'm kind of tempted to just give you an admin login to my HA, so you can tinker away on a Pi5 architecture (if we're still assuming that could be the trouble).

And the setup page even is now saying all the IP addresses that should be accessible.

This morning, none of my services were working over the internet, only on local ip. I checked NGINX Proxy Manager that had renewed the cert during the night, apparently successfully. But testing from inside NPM failed. I googled it and saw similar issues that fixed it by deleting and creating a new cert. So I deleted mine, but was unable to generate a new one. Tried to reboot the host system, and now NPM will not start. I tried uninstalling it re-installing it, but it fails to start. Here is the log: https://pastebin.com/jdHqL7Mm. Basically this: nginx: [emerg] cannot load certificate "/etc/letsencrypt/live/npm-1/fullchain.pem": BIO_new_file() failed (SSL: error:80000002:system library::No such file or directory:calling fopen(/etc/letsencrypt/live/npm-1/fullchain.pem, r) error:10000080:BIO routines::no such file)
