If they work now they'll work the same with Z2M
The Zigbee part is the same, and 100% handled by the devices
They kinda work now... about 70% of the time one/two bulbs don't seem to get the message
I suspect maybe the better antenna/radio on the Sonoff may help that though?
Depends on the problem
Any feature lost with dumping the hue bridge?
You don't get all the fancy effects that are handled by the hub
You do move away from Philips harvesting all your data 😉
Ah... pi-hole handles that 😎 I have one old livingcolors lamp with the remote lost, can I migrate that?
Find it there and it works already
Don't find it there and you can add support yourself
It's there ( https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/7299760PH.html ) , but I worry about it not pairing after becoming orphaned. Some options on the page I'll try.
It's a very early device, predates Hue
Any point to splitting into lighting/non-lighting zigbee networks with different channels?
Only if you hit problems
Even then, maybe split half the lights on one and half on the other
60 bulbs, dear lord
Seen more
I was gonna say I don't think I've ever seen 60 bulbs in one room before, let alone smart ones
But then I just looked up
I'm trying to save on smart bulbs... most of the bulbs in the house are these IP rated 24V led spots... I'm trying to put those on Sonoff ZB mini 4
but I need to start by fixing the smart bulbs...
Have the issues with Hue motion sensors and zigbee2mqtt been fixed?
I have three
What issues?
Probablyl, that was years ago
They're unfixable, it's a firmware defect with the SML001
Epic
Only way to "fix" it is to allow any device to join the network without a network key, which is what the sensor does
I have a stack of IKEA vallhorn PIRs i can use... though I've heard they have their own issues
Fine with rechargeable batteries apparently
Or if you want good motion+lux sensors the Develco/Frient MOSZB-140 is really very good
So I've started migrating some bulbs... I have two IKEA tradfri added and I want to add the Hue LTC001 in the same room... however it's unreachable in the hue app. Risky to delete?
Depends on whether your new mesh can be reached from it
It says unreachable... but power on/off and dim works
I originally had to adopt that one by serial number in hue
got it working... dead battery in the remote i was using to try reset...
🤦
hey tinkerer, so i switched the automation trigger device to my room fan for better testing, its the same brand plug from sengled. anyhow, the automation runs when the fan is off like its supposed to. I'll run the washer later today and see.
In order to have as little interference as possible from my wifi network, I understood it's good to have different channels for the zb network right? Basically try to get an "empty" channel?
Should I put all my APs of my wifi system on the same channel, and then my ZB network on another?
Well, look at the pinned image
With WiFi on one of the three "good" channels you've got 3 (or 4 in EU) clear channels for Zigbee
Hmm still a bit confused. In your image the three "Wide" channels (1, 6, 11) are the good channels I take it? What do you mean with the second part, that I have 3 clear for zigbee?
Those are really the only useful channels for wifi
The wide blue blob is labelled WiFi channel one
Ahhh, the red one are zigbee channels, and those are good because they don't seem to interact with the wifi channels. Now I get it.
The narrow red-ish blobs are numbered Zigbee channels
No legend on the graph 😄
Well, there are labels
In their infinite wisdom, the WiFi and Zigbee channel numbers are different and overlap in an unexpected way
Yeah, I think it makes more sense if you have that background knowledge
But it's ok, Bluetooth overlaps and you've no way of finding out about that
But I get it now
If you don't set it manually, zigbee just tries itself right? Can I see somewhere whether it's choosing a good one? I'm not quite ready to re-pair all my devices, so it's going into my "maybe optimise later" drawer
ZHA picks best, Z2M defaults to 11
I finally managed to fix the issue by disconnecting the load from the switch, pairing it, and reconnecting the load. Everything works perfectly now. Thank you very much for the support!
Cool thanks. And a final question (for today)... I have a zigbee device outside, and it has a zb-router 40cm from it (inside). But there's HR++ glass inbetween, so the connection is iffy. Any clever way to solve this? (I have the same issue with wifi strength outside)
Not a lot you can do other than make sure the nearby router is really good - like a CC2652 with external antenna for maximum sensitivity
I don't think my IKEA USB plug qualifies as "really good"
I like your idea of a CC2652 though. Looks like I can get one from Ali for 15 euros. That's an ok price I think. Local ones seem to go for 35 euros
What does a channel move look like in Z2M? Easy process? Don't think I'll have an issue on 11 but in case I wanted to move,,,
my own question answered... re-pairing of all devices.... won't be doing that then...
Apologies if this boils down to another ZHA vs Z2M question, as I know that that's been written about extensively, but if I just added a controller and ZHA but am intrigued by Z2M, based solely on your experience, would you go ahead and switch to Z2M before adding any devices or encountering any problems?
Is there any way to properly test if a ZigBee module can handle 16A as advertised?
Has anyone actually gotten a device firmware upgraded?
All of my Zigbee show:
Installed version : unknown
Latest version : unknown
not sure what the deal is
What devices?
I have a ThirdReality motion sensor: 3RMS16BZ
A ThirdReality plug: 3RSP019BZ
ThirdReality moisture detector: 3RWS18BZ
Thought that brand was on the list I read
Go to /config/updates and hit the "Check for updates" button
They'll show up automatically for all devices probably in 2023.3.0
Shouldn't take more than 10-15 minutes
Not really, not unless they publish their own testing strategy and you duplicate it
And depending on the module and the usage, you might have to derate from what they claim anyway
Sometimes if you find the datasheet for the exact relay they use then that'll give some indication but still not guarantee of much
They could well use a 16A relay but only use pcb traces capable of 8A
Hello, when I group light switches in Z2M I can't control them at all for some reason, is there any way I could fix it?
I tried three different light switches models and non of them work
right that's what i was worried about. can i just feed 16A to it and see if anything gets too hot?
Its usually more about the relays and spark gaps
i'm assuming nothing we can do to test that?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIB3kWqqAzE i found this video interesting a while back about smart relays and figured i'd share
Well you can and see if it goes up in flames
But it may even depend on more things than just the current so you may not have a great time with them on different usecases
Can someone help I asked in another channel but this is where the Zigbee experts are. I bought some curtains open and closer. It works with the remote but it specifically says it's Zigbee and works with Tuya. When I put both sides into pairing mode 4 total but I get 2 things in ZHA so one for each set. There are no open or closed options though I'm thinking maybe I could put something into the code I'm not an expert like some.
thanks i'll take a look
Share the specific model number of the curtains
It’s possible they need a custom config called a quirk
Has anyone successfully ran Sonoff ZBDongle-E under Zigbee2MQTT Docker? If so, how?
It probably makes more sense to explain why it doesn't seem to work for you. Just know that support for it is experimental. It works for some.
Have anyone had a switch that turns itself back to it's old state when being pressed in the UI. The physical switch only swiches ones so it doesn't turn itself back like the UI.
Here is how it looks like: https://imgur.com/LI7GZh1
Hi, what's your experience with IKEA zigbee bulbs and Lidl zigbee bulbs? Are they comparible in color? Are they in general good?
Sonoff E can be used in z2mqtt too
You can use both add-ons but you'd need a separate coordinator for each and be maintaining 2 separate networks
Does the switch actually change state when the UI is used? If so, the device likely has buggy firmware. It can be worked around with a ZHA Quirk. Create an issue in the GitHub quirks repo: zha-device-handlers
Ideally, also provide logs and the diagnostic information for that device
Awesome news! Thanks a lot! Will create one right now!
This one: https://github.com/zigpy/zha-device-handlers ?
I am updating the firmware of a bunch of my Zigbee devices to solve some specific issues. I also need to update the firmware of my Conbee II Zigbee gateway. Is it safe to shut down Home Assistant and perform the update of the Conbee gateway while some Zigbee devices are still updating their firmware? Or do they need to stay in communication with the Home Assistant server while they are updating?
I think the p is new hardware/fw as well as the p/round stuff has been way better than the non p versions for me
Firmware updates are sent by your coordinator over the network continuously. If you shut down Core or unplug your coordinator, it'll halt the update. Usually this won't break anything but I would just wait for them to finish, they don't take long.
I'm looking for a zigbee solution
Low voltage signals to control fireplace fans
The fan itself obviously grabs 120v supply from a nearby junction.
The fan "speed controller" knob is located across the room on it's own romex
3 conductors, ground, "hot", neutral
When the snap disc in the fireplace heats up bridging the contacts it completes the circuit to the speed controller
Allowing the user to adjust the fan speed, or turn it off completely
To my understanding this should be low voltage correct?
Thus I wouldn't be able to use a typical zigbe fan speed controller switch?
You would want a device known as a dry contact relay for that
I personally gave up on my search for a ZigBee dry contact relay that met my needs and got a Shelly 1 instead
What is that exactly?
Relay with no potential on its outputs at all
Most of the ZigBee relay modules out there only have a switched live output
You need a relay with both poles of the output exposed and no power on them so you can use it to bridge where the snapdisk would have
Ahh yea that's what I was worried about
at the time I was looking (roughly 12 months ago) the only zigbee dry contact modules were 12VDC powered and had no casing
That could potentially be preferable
You see I'm just interested in speed control and on/off like a traditional "speed controller" would do.
Except the junction where said traditional switch currently sits has no 120vac
So unless I patch a module of sorts at the fire place and then have control at the wall instead
I've gotta figure out a different route of power
I could potentially pull 120vac
But this wall also darts into the utility room so I could run 12vdc to this junction
Transformer or a switching psu on the other side
Do the dry contact sensors control speed?
Or do they just open/close the circuit
theyre on or off
Ah I see
Make electrical connection or break it
Replacing what sounds like your mechanical thermostat, something with speeds, you'll need something more complex
So for speed control, what should I be looking at?
It's not even a thermostat
you mentioned a snapdisk, which to me sounds like a mechanical thermostat
Oh well in that case yes
The snapdisc acts as a thermostat mechanically
And the speed control knob adjusts the speed or opens/closes the low voltage circuit
*I believe it's low voltage based on my understanding
Speed control knob could do 101 different things internally
They do have 120vac rated romex running between them however
Without knowing anything about the innards of the unit, cannot comment any further
This is my exact unit
It's just a variable control
I'll be confirming today, but should be heading to the snapdisc in my fireplace
Both the conductors and variable switch are rated for 120vac
But based on my knowledge these circuits typically are low voltage
I'm migrating from ZHA to Z2M. I've noticed Z2M does not see/make "Identify" entities, like ZHA does?
SInce the last update I have huge problems with my Zigbee network... All motion sensors going in "detected" state randamly, even though nobody is there... The ZHA integration is restarting every 10min. I already reinstalled everything, recreated the zigbee network and had to reinitialize all zigbee devices and still it is not working :/ Using the sky-connect Multi Pan
really not too sure what i can do -.- all automations go crazy because of that
Good morning. Does anyone use SONOFF SNZB-06P? It often happens that the sensor remains stuck in "detected" for a long time even if set to 15 s.
Disable multipan it’s experimental and it is causing a lot of problems atm.
Can I do that without losing everything again 😂 was a lot of work recreating and repairing all devices
do yourself a favor and re-pair everything one more time -> this time with Zigbee2MQTT, instead of ZHA. I've switched yesterday and – after 2 months of random shit happening all the time, every day – it finally "just works".
"Just works" after one day in operation is a bit euphoric, isn't it?
wishful thinking 😄
Fingers crossed
but I mean: the devices have paired, the values get updated, it works. and i cannot say that about ZHA… the "unavailable" status every time I wanted to check something was driving me crazy. and the tuya devices which would pair, but not work 5 minutes later. etc. etc.
right now only one device does not want to pair is Nous A1Z - it's supposed to be supported though, so I'll debug it later
Hi, I need to update manually the state of two hue lamps. I've connected them through z2m and they work great, except that they won't update their state, brightness etc automatically. To solve this issue, I want to use the mqtt.publish service, to request them to update their state. But I don't know how to formulate the payload.
Any suggestions?
`service: mqtt.publish
data:
qos: 0
retain: false
topic: zigbee2mqtt/name-of-lamp
payload: "get: "state""``
You disable it the same way you enabled it: https://skyconnect.home-assistant.io/procedures/disable-multiprotocol/
Hi everyone.
Im having some issues with my ZHA network... I often get "unavailable" devices that the only way I have figured out how to fix is to delete and re-add...
now the latest problem is the ZHA "fails to setup"
here are the logs:

any help would be greatly appreciated
Hi, I'm curious what I can and cannot expect from a ZHA quirks.
For example:
I bought an Neo Siren NAS-AB02B2 (which doesn't seem to include the temp/hum sensors).
The quirks exposes a switch to toggle the "siren", but requires me to use the "manage Zigbee device" dialogue to change volume, melody and duration or read the battery level (TuyaMCUSiren cluster).
So now comes the question:
Is it possibly for a quirk to create UI elements (entities?) for the mentioned Zigbee attributes? Except for the battery level which might be mapped to the ZCL basic/battery attributes AFAIK all of them are (allowed) extensions of the Zigbee standard.
Can you enable debug logging and post a log?
Eventually, there is going to be an improvement where quirks can directly create (configuration) entities for cases like this.
For now, use service calls (might need "zha toolkit") to write the attributes. Create an automation based on an input boolean for example.
Alternative would be to properly implement the switches/sensors in ZHA directly.
i have the log file, whats best way to upload here?
@nova sedge Please use a code share site to share code or logs, for example:
- https://dpaste.org/ (select YAML for the language, and consider picking a longer expiry)
- http://pastie.org/ (select YAML for the language)
- https://paste.debian.net/ (you guessed it, select YAML as the language)
Please don't use Pastebin, since it can randomly add spaces to the main view. Please also don't share text as images since it makes it harder for people to help you. Remember that others may have colour blindness, impaired vision, etc.
For this device zha.set_zigbee_cluster_attribute is enough. Thank you.
You mean to implement support within https://github.com/home-assistant/core/tree/dev/homeassistant/components/zha this code?
This would pollute ZHA with manufacturer specific code.
But as Zigbee explicitly allows for extension somewhere the code has to go. As a user with code development background (though not in Python) quirks or something else outside of the core is preferable. So I can tinker with not yet fully supported devices.
Besides the shorter list of supported devices (thanks to broken products) the missing mapping of manufacturer specific attributes to HA entities seem to me the major shortcoming of ZHA to MQTT.
This would pollute ZHA with manufacturer specific code.
Yes, but that's the only way to do it (for now), example:
https://github.com/home-assistant/core/blob/314123e0ab2b369c6904ff462ab3729e835042b6/homeassistant/components/zha/switch.py#L269-L592
See this example for "quirks v2": https://github.com/zigpy/zigpy/discussions/1312#discussioncomment-8191961
here it is:
Probably not the way you really wants to go, right?. IMHO the code looks like it would be very hard to maintain.
Like mentioned, basic configurations entities can be created using quirks v2 in the future.
That looks promising. Obviously the fine points of the discussions are lost to me :).
Can you reload the integration and upload the log after it crashes? The log just shows things working.
ok. it seems to crash at random times, i will upload next time it crashes
thanks for your help!
I've tried to understand the how quirks work, but I only could figure out some basics. Reading the ZCL helped a lot, but I don't get what is possible.
Say I want to add a IAS WD cluster to the Neo Siren. As I understand the spec only requests for a cluster command (though ZHA implements default values [?] as attributes). In theory the quirk could implement a command that stores the current Tuya attributes (melody, volume, duration), change it to the ones requested, trigger the sound and restore the attributes.
Or go the easier (?) route by syncing the Tyua attributes with the siren attributes of ZHA.
Is anything of that possible?
Hi all, what is the Right way to add a new Zigbee OTA provider firmware sever to HA?
Does anybody know if these bulbs act as a Zigbee repeater? Or is any bulb, by definition not a repeater because it's not guaranteed to have constant power? https://www.amazon.com/Philips-SmartThings-Required-Dimmable-Equivalent/dp/B08428JSDZ
the opposite, at least your last part
bulbs and other mains devices are repeaters unless a device breaks spec (like sengled bulbs are not repeaters, but every other zigbee bulb i know of is)
Ah, that might be what threw me, then. I started with some Sengled bulbs and know they're not repeaters. Thanks! I've got a couple of these Innr bulbs to install and a couple of Sengled's that don't always respond - I think they're too far away. This should fix it (I hope...)
Also, odd, I just noticed that the link says nothing at all about "Innr", usually amazon links indicate brand info. Weird...
hello all. New to HA. Just got my green a few days ago, and just got my Zigbee Coordinator today. I plugged it in and set it up in HA (was immediately recognized). Next question...now how do i pair Zigbee devices? I also got an Aqara wireless mini switch (https://zigbee.blakadder.com/Aqara_WXKG11LM.html) but when i try the sync process via the mini switch, nothing shows up in HA
is there something i need to do in HA to initiate synchronization on the coordinator's side? I don't see a button on the coordinator to initialize syncing
Read the docs 😉 https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/zha/#adding-devices
yeah i found it. thanks a bunch though!
is it possible to install a Sonoff ZBMINI-L2 without an external switch? I have a wireless switch that doesn't need any electrical cables attached to it but the lamp is not smart which is what I need the Sonoff for
where do you want to install it? the lamp side? or in an empty (preserved) wall switch box?
is there any zigbee enabled brands that the community has a concensus to stay away from? right now just looking for light bulbs, but i will be adding more and more as time goes on
Should be, but it's probably easier to just put a smart bulb in the lamp
From the lamp side, here's a demo https://imgur.com/a/CW2Avk7
Hi. Can a Texas Instruments Zigbee CC2531 be used to connect Sonoff ZBMINI? Or does it have to be ZB BRIDGE? At the moment I was not able to do it
Yes, it can, but...
- Range is less than 8 meters from the stick to the first router, a lot less without an external antenna
- That stick is the worst possible choice, you're going to regret it if you add more than half a dozen devices
Is there a decent tutorial for that? I am trying to follow User Manual steps and also googling, but cannot connect it
Tutorial for what?
if you're using ZHA then the docs there cover the ZHA part, but you'll need the docs for your Sonoff to see how to pair it
I plugged TI Zigbee into USB device on my computer, then added the integration on HA. It found Zigbee bridge very fast. Now I have Sonoff ZBMINI in pairing mode (green light flashing), and I try to add devices through Zigbee Bridge, but it doesn't find anything, but as you mentioned, maybe my router is a bit too far away
- Replace that stick with something that's not utterly shit - the Sonoff E works well for ZHA (which you use)
- Put the stick on a USB extension cable (see the pinned messages)
- Make sure you have Zigbee router devices to extend the range
Thank you
To be clear, that stick you have is known to have many problems. The least of which is that it randomly stops working until you unplug and reconnect it.
Is there a way to change when a motion sensor reports occupancy clear?
I have an ikea mention sensor it only reports clear after 4-5 mins. To me this is too long to use the clear trigger to do something meaningful
Depends partly on whether you use ZHA or Z2M
Z2M
Then check the doc page for that device
Do you mean product page on ikea or on z2m?
Z2M
Thanks I actually found it there.
‘’occupancy_timeout’’
So looks like I need to add this setting to the configuration tank under this device
You can probably also set it in Z2M's UI for the device
Apparently yes… I feel like an idiot 😓
But there it’s blank. And on the z2m product page it mentions that the default is 90 sec. I’m experiencing more than 90 secs for it to clear
So... set it?
Nobody can help until you explain the problem and share logs
Can I share logs here?
You've been here long enough to know how code/log sharing works...
@woeful merlin Please use a code share site to share code or logs, for example:
- https://dpaste.org/ (select YAML for the language, and consider picking a longer expiry)
- http://pastie.org/ (select YAML for the language)
- https://paste.debian.net/ (you guessed it, select YAML as the language)

Don't share images of text
Ok I can share just text
I’ve pasted the codes in the above mentioned sites but I’m not sure you can see them
You have to hit save to get a sharable URL
@woeful merlin I converted your message into a file since it's above 15 lines :+1:
Well... that was easier than sharing a URL apparently, even if you utterly broke the formatting
Looks like it can't reach the coordinator
It happened some time ago after an update and I cannot do anything about it.
Make sure that ZHA hasn't been set up
Could you please tell me how to do it?
I just set it. And now I have another problem
Shall I uninstall it?
I set it to 10. So 10 seconds after it sends out the clear. But it will not trigger again for the next few minutes. Even if people walk by the sensor
If you set it up, yes
Ok I’ve uninstalled it and clicked restart
What is the most reliable way to update a Zigbee device? One of my devices asked for an update but it kept saying unknown error and after repairing the whole update is gone
This was using ZHA
How do I trigger the update again? It now thinks it’s on the latest firmware even though it’s not
Now I have something like that:
Okay seems not something changeable for this sensor https://github.com/Koenkk/zigbee2mqtt/issues/13259
This is what I have now:

Don't forget you can edit your post rather than repeatedly posting the same thing.
Exactly what coordinator do you have?
Because the first error said ezsp and now z-stack
Those aren't close to the same
(and don't say Sonoff - Sonoff do at least half a dozen models, and at least two simply called Plus)
Problem solved. Thank you
There were 2 problems:
- ZHA
- Wrong logs
What worries me is it happened after an update without my intervention
Nah, you absolutely did this to yourself - no integration auto-configures
You probably didn't realise what you were doing, but you did it
Might have been unaware:)
Anyway thank you for your help and patience.
Have a nice day!
Hi what’s your recommended zigbee motion sensors?
Aqara P1, Develco/Frient MOSZB-140, Linkind
Just checked Aqara p1. It’s 4 times expensive as the IKEA one 😅
Well... buy cheap, buy twice
My only two complaints for the ikea one is 1, battery life seems quite short. After eight months now it’s only at 34% and 2) seems I can’t change the minimum time the sensored can be triggered for a second time.
hi all. I am having a problem where ZHA "fails to setup" a few times a day, only way to resolve is to restart HA.
I enabled debug logs and here is the last few section (the log file is 280mb so could not upload it all)
any help would be really appreciated. @austere patio this is the issue we spoke about yesterday.
What other integrations and addons are you running?
is there a way I can extract that info or should I just take screenshots?
@austere patio here are screenshots of my integrations, addons and HACS:
Are any of them custom integrations? The error you're seeing is because you run out of file descriptors. Some integration somewhere is using them up.
well all the ones in HACS are custom i guess? any way for me to narrow down to the integration that is causing an issue?
Disable half and see if it stops breaking. The filedescriptor out of range in select() warning you're seeing should stop showing up once you fix the issue.
Seems like it has to be something that talks to a dongle
What else would have any business using the serial package?
Narrows it considerably
to my knowledge the onlything that talks to a dongle is ZHA.. I have no nothing else connected to the pi
Hey folks, any tips on why my zigbee network is showing up with a lot of red and some gray connections? I'm done a few troubleshooting steps like removing devices and readding them to their closest router but they seem to default to a different connection point. Also using the HA Sky Connect dongle. https://imgur.com/a/NDRSocy
Hey! I got a smart plug and want to reset the power sum monitor like described:
https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/HG08673.html
But I don't understant where to do this. i use a Skyconnect. Thanks for helping out
You are using Zigbee2MQTT?
No ZHA
Well... it helps if you tell people that 😉
I only mentioned how important that was twice before 😉
yeah thats right
Go to the device page, click the three dot dropdown menu, and then "manage zigbee device". Then just click the "commands" tab and click the "issue zigbee command" button. Command 0x00 on cluster 0x0000 is reset_fact_default, which is pre-selected since it's the first command.
Thank you that worked!
Trying to get my head round ZIgbee Node / repeater is it up to the device what to join aka .. got a Child device going through a repeater node (Presence sensor) instead of the main aceess point - both the sensor and the switch / child node are about 1M from the main access point
For direct control you can bind them together
If you just enable pairing then yes, the device picks. If you only allow pairing through a specific router then it has to connect to that (but can then change later).
I just bought an ikea tradfri led zigbee bulb to try out (LED2201G8), but can't seem to pair it to my existing ZHA setup. anybody got any tips? This is the first ikea device I'm trying to pair.
Tried to put it into pairing mode by rapidly switching on and off, but no luck
You have to be really precise with the on/off timing and start with it in the "off" state for like 5s. I suggest finding a YouTube video and following along.
You should start the reseting process while the bulb is on.
And for each off it should be a bit longer than the on. So it's like below:
(in on) off on-off on-off on-off .... until the last on
Nice! that worked.
thanks
cheers, took me sometime to fully figure it out
I got zigbee light switch in detached mode with smart bulb.
Do I need to bind each other (switch to bulb and bulb to switch) in order for blue/red switch led indicator to match every time?
what indicator do you mean?
Do you have a photo showing the design?
It looks like this one https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/ZS-EUB_1gang.html
There is light indicator on a button if it's on or off
sorry never used it before
i think you just need to set an automation to make that light turn on when wanted
assuming there arent config options for it
I already made automation for whole bulb-switch in HA for this, but I wanna try if it's working without it since backlight on switch doesn't have settings
if the light only comes on with the relay and you have smart bulb mode on i think you are fucked
https://www.support.getzooz.com/kb/article/549-zen76-s2-on-off-switch-700-advanced-settings/ my zwave light switches expose the "notification" light itself separately, i think the inovelli blues do the same
I combined live with switches bulb output, so switch only acts as a smart "button" with load indicator when pressed

Hi All, I'm using Z2MQTT for quite a while and I'm experiencing pairing problems with some ledvance Bulbs
both but specific z2m questions are best to ask in z2m discord server
also this is a channel, the channel "topic" is ```Zigbee :bee: - please remember to mention whether you're using zha (https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/zha), zigbee2mqtt (https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/), or deCONZ (https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/deconz). If you're using some hub, we probably can't help you though - try the integrations channel instead.
Looking for devices? See https://zigbee.blakadder.com/ and https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/information/supported_devices.html.
Wanting advice about what stick? Look in the pinned messages. Just don't buy anything CC2530 or CC2531 based.```
ah ok, do you know where I can find the Z2MQTT discord forum ?
Zigbee2MQTT is a Zigbee gateway that uses MQTT to communicate with HA and supports a range of TI chipset based controllers. Our #zigbee-archived channel is a good place to ask about using it with Home Assistant, but they also have their own Discord server.
link at the bottom^
got it thanks !
So, I got these plugs (MOES TS0112) that surface entries for current, power, summation delivered, and voltage in HA, however nothing shows for these entries. What's going on?
I’m trying to add a second Aqara door and window sensor to HA. I’ve been able to perform the interview process and it says the device is ready to go, however the state never changes (eg. Never changes from closed) and if I select visualization, I see the sensor but there isn’t a line from the sensor to my coordinator. I’m using ZHA, my coordinator is a sonoff usb dongle connected via a usb hub with its own power. I previously added a door and window sensor a few months back with no issues
Don’t think so. All of the devices are battery powered.
bummer
how many devices are you up to now?
the coordinator (the sonoff e? or p? dongle) + how many devices?
8 devices total including the coordinator and the sensor that is acting up
have you considered buying things that would act as routers for your mesh?
cuz that's kind of what zigbee is all about lol
I was able to add 2 motion sensors yesterday with no issues
I haven’t really considered mains powered devices up till now 😀
there is a maximum number of directly connected devices and which sonoff dongle you have changes that
also basically you diagnosing this is completely pointless
cuz once you get a few bulbs or something the issues will just disappear lol
when you do buy some devices to act as repeaters, make sure to join them starting closest to the coordinator first
it's just good practice even if devices get new routes afterwards later
So i just got some xiaomi temp and humidity sensors and set them up. The LYWSD03MMC. and did the steps to make them zigbee compatible and integrated with my home assistant. But it seems like the temp stays at 78.6 and won't change in home assistant but the humity is working correctly.
Ok. I’ll look into adding a bulb or two. Thanks!
smart plugs are popular too. just dont buy sengled bulbs, they are the one bulb i know of that does not act as a repeater
i use and suggest hue bulbs, but ikea seem to be decent for a cheaper option
also killing power to these bulbs or any mains device acting as a router is bad and will fuck up your mesh. so dont do that
i wouldnt expect any support here for that tbh. maybe on github for that project or something. i kept mine flashed with bthome cuz there is a known battery drain issue if flashed to zigbee
lol. I’ll keep that in mind. Keeping them powered shouldn’t be too much of a problem, I’m fortunate that my utilities are pretty stable and only go off when I intentionally cut power to replace light switches 😀. Thanks again for the help!
https://inovelli.com/products/zigbee-matter-blue-series-smart-2-1-on-off-dimmer-switch if you have fuck you money buy a bunch of these to pair them with hue bulbs 🙂
Not strictly a HA question, but figured others may have seen the device...I got some Zigbee in-wall relay switches to use for some odds-and-ends lights (ie. closet). I got one wired up and paired with HA no problem, and control from HA works great.
The issue is that there are S1/S2 terminals on the device that I am supposed to be able to use to still use the physical switch, so it's a little bit like a 3-way switch using the relay + existing switch.
Once I wired the existing switch in, neither the switch nor the button on the relay (only accessible because I didn't close the box up yet) work, but it does still toggle via HA sending Zigbee events. I figured adding the switch in may have messed it up entirely, but somehow Zigbee still works, while the toggle on the relay doesn't?
I also just set up these sensors. Does the temperature change on the display?
yes. also i fixed the issue by just removing it from zigbee and re adding it
Cool. I have some stability issues, after a few hours the zigbee updates stop coming until I power cycle them
More people have that problem, looking at the GitHub issues
hi everyone. running z2m, i often have the network going unresponsive. the error is "SRSP - AF - dataRequest after 6000ms". replugging in the coordinator works usually, but sometimes im not home. i currently have the failure and restarting the mqtt broker add-on and zigbee2mqtt add-on does not work either. is there something else to try?
i do notice in the hardware tab, the coordinator is still found on usb.
What coordinator?
I had issues with a lightbulb that was going bad and spamming the mesh with announcements until it crashed, which gave me the same error.
I could see in the debug logs that there were a lot of messages from the same device.
remembered to put the notification off 😉
Its the UGZ-01 or something.
thanks for not blocking, i suppose 🙂
Check the Z2M log at the time and see what else is in there
is there still a way to see? i already replugged the coordinator and z2m restarted by doing that.
with that, logs refreshed into a new page.
Check the Z2M folder for historical logs
Anyone have experience with Clipsal/Schnider Wiser switch modules? How the heck do you get them to switch from Bluetooth to Zigbee mode? Tried factory reset, 3 short and one long press until the led flashes fast. Also tried 3 short and one long press until the led flashes slow. Also tried 12 short presses. No change. It is stuck in Bluetooth mode. Spent hours re-trying all three methods. It does have a zigbee part no. Of the 10 I tried pairing only one has this issue and it is my fault for putting it in bluetooth mode to see if there was an update available from the app (there wasn't).
I have a zigbee usb stick plugged into my pi in a usb 3.0 slot yet when I go to system > hardware > all hardware, search for "usb" my stick doesnt pop up? or should I not be searching usb
im using the SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle aswell*
you can only connect 32 devices?
That's very incorrect and should be removed from the documentation
It's a hard limitation of the firmware running on your coordinator device. Some have no limit, some have a hard limit of 16, some 32. It's not something you usually ever hit though, since adding any routing device (e.g. a bulb) to your network will increase the limit.
It's unusual to have just 32 sensors
Ah, you have the unusual case! Buy an outlet or a bulb or something 😄
You can also buy a second coordinator and flash it with router firmware. They have a larger child limit than most bulbs and outlets. But for mesh stability, it's best to have more than a few routers.
🥺
will I have the same issue as Salamander? right now I have phillips hue light bulbs in all my lights and I needed 2 bridges because one can only have 50
That's just an artificial Hue limitation. You can have 200+ devices no problem.
Those bulbs are routers, so no
oh ok
Hue limits you to 50 per hub for performance reasons, and so they can cheap out on the hub
whats the difference between routers and sensors?
See the pinned messages - routers route packets, sensors are usually end devices
i have 40+ hue bulbs on my zigbee2mqtt mesh and each act as routers for all my other zigbee devices like door sensors. i highly suggest moving off their incompetent bridge
i've been trying to get rid of those bridges yet I just can't get my darn usb dongle to work
idk if im doing it wrong but when I plug it in it doesnt pop up in hardware
im using the zigbee 3.0 usb dongle from sonoff and I haven't done anything with zha ive followed a youtube tutorial did everything the same way they did yet when I go to hardware to find the serial of the usb stick to put it in zigbee2mqtt I cant find the usb
ive used this one and I tried with the skyconnect one
There's at least three different "3.0" dongles from Sonoff, maybe four
Two have the same base name, just to be helpful
However... if Z2M isn't seeing te path then it's not passed to that VM/container/add-on/whatever
P is the right one for Z2M
or am I just not searching the right thing?
I just go into hardware and search "usb"
HAOS I assume?
yes
On hardware, or in a VM?
hardware as in rpi right?
Yes
then yes
What?
im running it on a raspberry pi 4
What's plugged into the USB ports?
followed a youtube tutorial for zha or z2m?
As long as it has power all the time, yes
z2m
yes, you start closest to your coordinator and delete the bulb from hue app. then the bulb goes into pairing mode and you join it to z2m/zha whatever
rinse and repeat
im running it on a raspberry pi 4
If theyre the older non ble capable hue bulbs, I had issues with them not going into pairing mode when removed from the hue app
but that gen also supports being forced into pairing mode by a sequence of repeat power cycling them
I have a mini smart swith (https://shorturl.at/zANRY) and a Sonoff dongle is it possible to pair the switch whit the doungle?
if you bought the zigbee version of the switch, then yeah probably
set your dongle up with ZHA, add zigbee device as normal with the switch forced into pairing mode, done.
Tuya...
The one advantage of tuya devices, how easily you can replace their brain with esphome
Anyone have any experience with Dansfoss Ally radiator thermostats. I recently bought 3 to test with and they are very difficult to get to register to HASS.
One out of the 3 have registered and stayed connected.
What they do is that they, as soon as they have registered go to an offline mode and won't take any commands from Hass.
I am running ZHA
Is there a general rule of thumb of which channel the zigbee should run?
the one ZHA picks for you, or the one with the lowest level of noise in an energy scan from 15, 20, 25
Do you know of an app to do that?
I’m currently using channel 11 and I see it’s definitely not very free
youtube told me 🙂 that best practice would be to have your wifi channel low and zigbee high or visa versa.
the guideline is not to have them overlap
but Wifi isn't the only thing that lives on the 2.4GHz band
Download ZHA diagnostics. The channel energy scan results are in the JSON.
Is there a z2m equivalent?
Unfortunately I only have an iPhone
the one I pointed to above
Yeah I saw the command line tool. Will try it out shortly
Another question is if I have a WiFi AP very close to the zigbee device but I’m sure they run at very different channels. Would this still be a problem?
ZHA has partial support for the Philips Hue Tap Dial switch (RDM002). This means that, for example, long press/release of the four buttons can't be automated. There's a partially complete PR to address this but it's been stalled for months. Can someone help me understand if it's just abandoned at this point? (https://github.com/zigpy/zha-device-handlers/pull/2340). Thanks!
I’m currently using channel 11 and I see it’s definitely not very free
Zigbee channel 11 collides with 2.4 GHz WiFi channel 1 mostly. (assuming only WiFi channels 1, 6, and 11 are ever used, because those are the only ones you should use).
So, you can set your WiFi APs to channel 6 and/or 11 (at 20 MHz) and that would prevent your WiFi APs interfering.
Yeah indeed. I’m using z2m. It’s been a while. Not sure if it’s something set by z2m or me.
It's the default used by Z2M.
If I set it to 25 would I see some problems? Is it commonly supported by zigbee devices?
Yes doing it now
The PR (initially) changed a lot, but we need to keep the existing device triggers compatible.
Once full backwards compatibility is confirmed with that PR, it can probably be merged.
Not sure if the author still plans to work on it.
Thanks. Doesn't seem like the author is engaged. I'll try to change that. Appreciate the response

This means 24, 25 are good?
And why does it only start from 11 till 26? I thought there's more?
Yep, 25 is generally a bit better. 11, 15, 20, and 25 are ZLL channels and compatible with a few more devices.
So if I go for 25 for zigbee, I shouldn't be looing for compatibility issues right?
You should be fine, yeah.
Then for 11 in this case does it look good?
It's not completely bad, but does have more interference.
Is your Zigbee network running on that channel as you did the scan?
yes the one with the bracket so 11
So you stopped Z2M and did the scan with the same dongle?
yeah
I tried without stopping z2m but it gave me an error
According to you, if I switch from 11 to 24 or 25, how much can I gain in terms of stability?
What issues do you currently have?
sometimes some lags for the control if they are not bound together
I have some buttons that doesn't support binding. And sometimes the first click will not work.
But it doesn't happen all the time
What "button models" are affected? Not first-gen Hue dimmers, right?
No some xiaomi buttons. on z2m it's mentioned that it does not support binding and I also don't see the option of binding
Not sure those issues necessarily come from using channel 11. It doesn't seem to be that "full" (but 25 would be better ofc).
You might want to re-run the scan in different parts of your house to see if you get other results then.
Then I need to move my raspberry pi with my dongle around...
the problem is that many Wifi routers default to channel 1, which is in the same region as Zigbee channel 11
My router is using automatic for both 2.4 g and 5g. Not sure how it decides it
so depending on what's around you, you could see significantly different results in different locations
you should pick it yourself
uh:
So, you can set your WiFi APs to channel 6 and/or 11 (at 20 MHz) and that would prevent your WiFi APs interfering (with Zigbee channel 11).
I will take a leap of faith here. So I will first do a back up of z2m. then change the channel to 24 and repair everything and see how it goes
this might take 1-2 hours
Wish me good luck!
I'd use channel 25 and not 24. Also, set your WiFi APs to 1 and/or 6 then.
Before moving the Zigbee channel though, check what your WiFi AP is set to now.
You might have the same issue after moving Zigbee channel otherwise if the AP keeps switching its channel.
Should it be just the APs or also the router?
And why choose 25 over 24?
^
ZLL devices are able to operate on all channels available at 2.4 GHz, numbered from 11-26. The primary ZLL channels are defined to
be 11, 15, 20, and 25. All other channels constitute the secondary ZLL channels. Additionally, ZLL supports a channel change mecha-
nism in an application-defined way. When the channel change mechanism is instigated, the device broadcasts a network update with
the scan channels field set to indicate the ZLL channel on which to begin operating. Routers receiving the update request update their
NIB and execute their channel change procedure. Routers that miss the request can be brought back into the network through a tou-
chlink procedure. If a touchlink initiator wants to bring a router back into the network, it sends a unicast inter-PAN network update re-
quest command frame. If the touch-link initiator is an end device, it executes a re-join procedure``` taken from https://www.silabs.com/documents/public/user-guides/ug103-09-fundamentals-zll.pdf
For example, Konke devices only seem to work on Zigbee channels 15, 20, and 25.
(not that you should use Konke devices, but some devices have issues with channels other than those or the default ZLL ones)
Did you check your router/WiFi AP first now?
It might cause some of the interference you're seeing on Zigbee channel 11.
Yes the 2.4 ghz is now on 9 and 5ghz is on 44
channel 9??
I don't want to change it there for the moment since it might lead to wifi issues for me due to wifi interference itself
get off of that immediately
Why? 😂
Yeah, you should only ever use WiFi channels: 1, 6, and 11
1, 6, and 11 are the non-overlappijng channels
Then they should blame tplink...
any commercial Wifi AP that chooses somethign other than 1, 6, or 11 is definitely to blame
my Arlo base station creates its own Wifi network and tries to overlay it on your existing Wifi network (because supposedly it's better to let them cooperate than to just create noise?), but my multiple APs are distributed between 1, 6, and 11, so it splits the difference and chooses something in between 🤷
After checking I think 11 is the most free of the three. I will switch it to 11
But I seldomly use 2.4 ghz anyways
And for the channel of 5ghz it should be fine? 44
doesn't matter
I will link this again: https://www.metageek.com/training/resources/zigbee-wifi-coexistence/
See the second image with the red Zigbee channels? The big three channels in the background (blue, green, yellow) are WiFi channels 1, 6, and 11.
You do not want those to overlap with the red/Zigbee channel you choose.
Right now, you're using Zigbee channel 11, so don't use WiFi channel 1. Only 6 and 11 are fine.
If you want to use Zigbee channel 25, don't use WiFi channel 11. Only 1 and 6 are fine then.
Right now, you're using Zigbee channel 11, so don't use WiFi channel 11. Only 6 and 11 are fine.
don't use Wifi channel 1
I see thanks
For now I will first switch to zigbee 25 since in terms of energy scan it's one of the best
And then I will see what will happen. the worst case would be I need to do some additonal tweaks on the wifi which is fine
I think unless there are zigbee device compatibility issues otherwise I can just stay with channel 25
But if I changed it to 25 and things got messed up can I just restore everything using the backup of z2m?
Does anyone have any thoughts? I don't think it is a bad device (I have a few and all report the same 0 values.) Is it an issue with HA?
hmm...im using zigbee channel 25 and have a wifi mesh network, each of the 3 points is broadcasting a 2.4ghz frequency, and to avoid overlap and issues, they are on channel 1, 6 and 11.
im not noticing zigbee trouble.
There's probably not much activity on your 2.4 GHz WiFi then. For Zigbee, it's better if you can move the channel 11 AP to 1 or 6 too.
that will cause issues since its the same SSID.
there is a DUCK ton of activity on my wifi, and i have around 60 zigbee devices haha.
i have 14 cameras, out of wich 10 are on 2.4ghz wifi.
Ok, that's not great then. If you don't notice any issues with Zigbee, it's fine. The performance is impacted though (especially by those WiFi cameras). It might not matter for you though.
You can always try to see what happens when you have two of the APs on the same channel. You should choose the furthest away APs then.
Like, having two WiFi APs (or more) on the same channel isn't that big of an issue (and unavoidable in big buildings with many APs), but it will decrease performance there.
i had that already, i always had issues i halfly accepted until it drove me crazy
seeked some advice at openWRT, the router guys, and they helped me solve it by switching the channels into 1, 6 and 11. others overlap.
maybe the zigbee performance is a tiny bit less since i implemented it, i dont notice anything bad though. quite snappy.
Yep. Do you remember what channels you used before? (or "automatic")
yeah, i tried several combinations. everything except for 1, 6 and 11.
never on automatic.
You can definitely get them to coexist peacefully… just takes work. I have ~80 WiFi devices and a couple hundred Zigbee devices. (185 on prod and a couple smaller dev networks)
And I have zwave + BT in the mix too
the network here is rock stable, except for the issue that at some random time my whole zigbee network crashes.
Oh just a few devices then XD
🙂
i have a usb 2.0 extension cable going to a 1m usb cable that goes into my coordinator.
tommorow a 4m usb 2.0 usb-c cable arrives for mini-pc to the coordinator.;
Define crashes
nothing works anymore on zigbee.
What coordinator are you using? TI?
ZHA?
UGZ-01 or something. z2m.
Can you check the firmware (Z-Stack version) that's running on it?
i have no idea how 😅
and its at totally random times that it just completely stops working as well.
but it wont get back until i remove the usb cable and plug it back in.
Check the Z2M UI to see if it's shown somewhere there
(Should be something like 20221226)
Ok let me chexk
Coördinator type
zStack3x0
Coordinator revisie
20230507
All current Z-Stack versions newer than 20221226 (so including yours) are known to randomly crash.
20221226 is the last one that works for "everyone". So, you might want to downgrade to that firmware.
Holy cows how is that a fact
How can it be that so many firmwares, especially later ones, crash?
And is that version even compatible? Anything im loosing with the downgrade?
Hopefully you lose crashes 🙂
Haha, so no features etc. And the uzg-01 is compatible? Because it uses a newer chip
Is it the P2 or the P7? / Which "hardware revision" of the UZG-01 do you have?
The p7.
I bought it because its claim it can handle many devices at the same time, i dont want to lose that if i downgrade. Want the 69 devices to stay as snappy as they re now.
I will provide a 6.10 fw (including p7) soon, currently doing some testing
So, I guess you still have to wait a bit
Thanks. Can it then be flashed inside home assistant?🤔
The product docs say it supports web flashing
So I added a Zigbee temperature and Humidity sensor to my HA and I see it in the devices... but I can't get it in my overview. What do I need to do to get it to show up there?
if you've already taken control you'll have to edit that #frontend-archived dashboard and add the entity
Things I've added previously have all auto-added to my overview (I don't have a robust setup, clearly)
Didnt use that before but il guess il find out how.
Simple dashboard pages are pretty easy and all part of the fun.
Browsed a bit but seems its mostly about individual devices, not the whole network suddenly being gone. Well tommorow a new cable arrives, will see if that solves it. Network goes down like once per week, so its hard to see when it worked out. If not i have the "new" firmware to try soon hopefully
No, it’s about Z-Stack crashing completely.
The "individual devices being gone" issues are unrelated to the original issue
There’s already multiple other discussions and issues about that
The issue is rarely seen on the P7 though, but it can happen
(You might still have another issue though)
I found I needed to press it only 4 times, and over about 3 seconds, and then it connected. It hasn't been particularly reliable since, though.
I had an Aqara TVOC that stopped reporting to HA after some time (Z2M). It was really annoying so I never used it. Then one day I wanted to see if I could get it to work again but it was completely dead. Warranty invoked and I have a new one in the mail. But anyone here got them working stable? I'm considering just selling it instead when I get it.
Hi, does anyone know of cheap relay modules that support Zigbee (preferably 3.0) and can be equipped with a momentary/pulse switch and can be connected to HA?
I've found Tuya ZB3 Dimmer modules where the switchtype can be set to momentary (via the Tuya hub). But unfortunately I haven't found Relay modules that support momentary switches.
modules need to be installed in european installationboxes (behind the momentary switch)
3 days of no issues, works perfectly, god bless z2m 😄
so, new cable going to my uzg-01 coordinator. hopefully this keeps working without crashing.

does the failed to connect to the adapter just mean theres things interfering with the zigbee stick? as in I should move it further away from everything
Which adapter do you have?
(and before you say Sonoff they've done dozens, at least two called Plus, we need the full name)
Hey, I'm having an issue with a SNZB-02P going unavailable every 6h for 6h. I'm using a ZBDongle-E and ZHA. Anyone encountered an issue like that?
I have 2 more of that sensor which are behaving properly. I've got a 3M USB extension cable to the dongle and have moved closer to the sensor and away from the machine running the system (away from SSD, router, etc)
I have one that triggers my garage opener let me find the link
Decommissioned my hue Hub and moved it all over to my first zigbee controller (went with sonoff). The response time from my hue remotes to the bulbs is wicked compared to going through cloud. Have a bunch of zigbee crap coming from AliExpress soon, pretty excited lol.
@grim igloo thanks for the suggestion about adding some mains powered device to help with my zigbee problem. I picked up a couple of IKEA smart plugs and was able to get my door sensor connected
Hey all - I've just asked the same question on reddit so apologies for the double drop. I've got a Yale Assure Smart Lock with a Zigbee module that I have integrated with ZHA. Weirdly, it's not automatically returning any values for any of its states/attributes. This was working some time ago, but I can't be sure when (at least 12 months ago). I can send lock/unlock commands successfully, and if I click "manage device" in the device options and read the state of the door_lock attribute, it then updates the state in HA but only if I do this read manually.
Any idea what might be going on, or how I can further troubleshoot? I've removed the device from HA, factory reset, etc
Did you try to reconfigure the device using the option on the device page (three dots -> "reconfigure this device")?
Otherwise, try to pair the device again by resetting it (whilst having the "Add Device" page open).
If all that doesn’t work: GitHub issue.
can zigbee show db values for connections?
just wondering because wifi clients connection power is usually presented in db
Do you see lots of added value of human presence sensor over a motion sensor?
Yes
What are the added values?
i've been having constant connection issues with zigbee for like ~2 weeks now
even after switching the zigbee channel to one where there should be no interference and repairing everything it still regularly stops working
Hi, I have some zigbee magnet sensors that became unavailable. Is there an easy way to make them available in home assistant again? What is causing them to become unavailable and how can I prevent this from happening again? I'm using the zha integration.
They became unavailable because they've not reported in recently (hours to days). Try operating them, and then try replacing the battery if that doesn't work.
they have a little activity LED when operated and that just flashed fine, they still don't show up. The rest of the zigbee network works fine though, I can operate my zigbee power sockets without a problem. But I'll check the battery to make sure that's not the problem. Do I have to pair the device again if I replace the battery? Or does that differ from device to device or vendor?
You shouldn't have to, no
But the blinking LED just means there's enough power to operate it, not that there's enough for the radio
I replaced the battery but still nothing. I also checked the old battery and it still showed 2.98V so it seems like the cell was still full.
It's also that all of the magnet sensors in the house just show as unavailable which hints at a system problem to me rather than an individual problem
but the power sockets work just fine
same as the temperature and humidity sensors
or the presence/motion sensors
just the magnet sensors from sonoff are giving me that kind of trouble
I see thanks
Ah... Sonoff... yeah, those are known to be not great
They are called 'reed sensor' or 'reed switch' or door/window sensor if you're searching
Xiaomi (Aqara) ones work well (the OG versions have known but well documented quirks)
Terncy if you can find them
3Reality if you're in North America
speaking of, i 3d printed a case for one yesterday (found on printables) and now have a zigbee gate sensor https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/743144302334443622/1209871228656160858/IMG_9154.jpg
this is proof of concept i'll reprint it later in a stronger filament and waterproof it (lmao no i wont)
I bought one off of Etsy and it's held up perfectly - it has a gasket too
It's been baked (well, 86F), frozen (about 0F), and absolutely drowned with torrential downpours... still going strong
mine has to hold up to texas temps in summer of prob 110F max
https://www.printables.com/model/473033-aqara-magnetic-doorwindow-sensor-outdoor-gate-moun this is the mount - i figure i could just put some hot glue in there and push the two sides closed and that'll hold it.. but part of me wants to leave it like this for science
when searching i found a similar one including a gasket and another guy suggested just disassembling and using nail polish on the entire PCB
Those look pretty good, not exactly ugly 😄
yeah for sure
i printed mine out of a dual color orange/black filament so it turned out a lil weird lol
i was gonna reprint in silver PETG and still might
will adding more mains devices help with rssi? I have a ZBMINIL2 and a 01MINIZB in the room above my HUSBZB1 and my RSSI is around -87 for both. I'm on channel 25 for Zigbee and 1, 6, and 11 for my three APs.
Only if they're good router devices, not all Sonoff's are
haha, how do I know whether or not they're good router devices? 😅 or do you have any recommendations for a good router device (I'm US-based)
or should I be separating my husbzb1 into separate zigbee/zwave receivers? right now it's on a usb extension cord away from electrical lines and other devices
Innr are good
lights and plugs or just one?
Both
hello hello, I am just looking into getting some zigbee devices and stumbled upon aqara. any experience with them? good bad?
my door sensor is about 90% reliable but my network is pretty bad 😂
oh. what about hue devices? should I swap those over to zha?
I don't use any of the hue "stuff." just the HA integration
Good, with known quirks - check the pinned messages
I never said I don't have hue devices 🙂
I don't use any of the hue "stuff."
oh. I mean the features in the hue app
Then yes, move them over
are they "good" routers or should I also look at getting innr to go along with them?
Should be good, they're mostly the gold standard of Zigbee
thank you!
Thanks so much! Unfortunately I'm looking for 230V relays (sorry forgot to mention that).
Looking at other products from the vendor, I think I might found one that suits my use-case:
Hi, I could really use some help with getting to the bottom of why my lamp is behaving in a weird way. I don't know what to do and haven't really been able to find anything here in the Discord or on the web. It seems like the color temperature slider is completely mis-mapped, leading to stuff like this: #hardware-archived message
Can you upload diagnostics JSON for the device?
Sure, https://paste.gg/p/anonymous/5cfc12d9c20b489db62e66043f6bf282
For some more context, it's a Lidl Livarno lamp, being picked up as TS0502A in HA
is it possible to make modifications to misconfigured sensors by the zha integration without having to fix them one by one?
What do you mean by misconfigured sensors?
a sensor that is configured as "vibration" when it should be configured as motion

can anyone help me with skyconnect?
a better question is how can i connect with sky connect support regarding the bad nov batch and either get a refund or a solution?
What do you mean by the bad November batch?
i had to enable the multi protocol like so many times and unplug replug so many times.. it never worked and last time it just worked.. so idk
definately not the experience i was hopinh anyway 😛
Can you post a screenshot of your multiprotocol addon configuration page?
Use Imgur or other sharing site
Hi guys, I have a Sonoff ZB Dongle E that is connected to my miniPC where I have HA installed. Everything working fine. I want to test a zigbee device in a friend's house but he doesn't have any hub or dongle. My question is: I can simply unplug my dongle and use it in my friend's house right? When I connect again in my miniPC, I would have everything again?
Well... yes, but probably no
Depends on whether HA restores the last backup to the stick, if it does you'll likely be ok
Under Zigbee Home Automation -> SkyConnect v1.0 devices -> does anyone know how to get the device name to display the entity name?
The device (in the GUID everywhere) seems to display the manufacturer name + model... This is almost useless at a glance anywhere in the GUID when using the UI editors.
Not sure I am following… devices and entities are different things. What are you asking?
but the stick sabes devices information?!?
Yes, but no
The answer is complicated, but if you move it to a new HA then that'll wipe the stick and set it up fresh
If you're using ZHA, you can form a new network at the second house and ZHA will open a repair to restore your last working one when you bring it back.
i'm using zigbee2mqtt
so... it's not a good idea to use the stick on other instance (that's what she said!)
what if I make an HA backup?
Z2M does a backup and restores it automatically
Hi, I have an ITead Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus, with Z-Stack firmware CC1352P2_CC2652P 26. December 2022. I would like to install the Zigbee Home Automation Add-on, but during installation it says Unknown error occurred. If I'm not mistaken, it's not the original firmware and I'm wondering how to flash back the original firmware if needed?
After upgrading HAOS it also gives me errors: Failed to configure 'Zs-Na', attempt 1 (Error: Read 0xa4c138506ed902c6/1 genBasic(["manufacturerName","zclVersion","appVersion","modelId","powerSource",65534], {"timeout":10000,"disableResponse":false,"disableRecovery":false,"disableDefaultResponse":true,"direction":0,"srcEndpoint":null,"reservedBits":0,"manufacturerCode":null,"transactionSequenceNumber":null,"writeUndiv":false}) failed (SREQ '--> AF - dataRequest - {"dstaddr":6486,"destendpoint":1,"srcendpoint":1,"clusterid":0,"transid":141,"options":0,"radius":30,"len":15,"data":{"type":"Buffer","data":[16,147,0,4,0,0,0,1,0,5,0,7,0,254,255]}}' failed with status '(0x02: INVALID_PARAM)' (expected '(0x00: SUCCESS)')) at /app/node_modules/zigbee-herdsman/src/adapter/z-stack/znp/znp.ts:320:27 at Queue.execute (/app/node_modules/zigbee-herdsman/src/utils/queue.ts:35:20) at ZStackAdapter.dataRequest (/app/node_modules/zigbee-herdsman/src/adapter/z-stack/adapter/zStackAdapter.ts:972:9) at ZStackAdapter.sendZclFrameToEndpointInternal (/app/node_modules/zigbee-herdsman/src/adapter/z-stack/adapter/zStackAdapter.ts:387:35) at Queue.execute (/app/node_modules/zigbee-herdsman/src/utils/queue.ts:35:20) at Request.send (/app/node_modules/zigbee-herdsman/src/controller/helpers/request.ts:79:20) at Endpoint.read (/app/node_modules/zigbee-herdsman/src/controller/model/endpoint.ts:466:28) at Object.configureMagicPacket (/app/node_modules/zigbee-herdsman-converters/src/lib/tuya.ts:378:9) at Object.configure (/app/node_modules/zigbee-herdsman-converters/src/devices/tuya.ts:5545:13) at Configure.configure (/app/lib/extension/configure.ts:120:13))

I made that backup. So I can use the stick in another place and then back at my home, restore from that zip right?
I see that I need to change the files inside the zigbee2mqtt folder, I think that's it
Let me ask another way! How to Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus, with Z-Stack firmware CC1352P2_CC2652P 26. December 2022 change the firmware so that will be ITead SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus Model “ZBDongle-E” (EFR32MG21 variant)
That's easy. Buy a ZBDongle-E instead of a ZBDongle-P.
I have a question about the Sonoff Zigbee dongle. I have the P version and I want to buy another one but there's only the E version available. In the store says that the E version is not compatible with Tuya. Can someone confirm this? Also, the P has only zigbee and the E can be flashed to supporte matter and thread? Is that it?
I haven't heard about Tuya issues with an E yet, but the chip on it only has experimental support in Zigbee2MQTT.
https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/ZBDongle-E.html it says it's supported
but I guess you don't recommend the E version then, right?
From the Z2M website:
Experimental
The adapters below are experimental, don't use these if you want a stable setup.Based on Silicon Labs EFR32MG2x/MGM21x and EFR32MG1x/MGM1x series
ok I missed that
I also have another question. If I have the IKEA TRÅDFRI zigbee hub and HA, I will not have the same support for devices right?
It works, but might or might not be great
With the new version of HAOS in Zigbee Home Automation Add-on, there is a problem with Tuya Zigbee, if the firmware is CC1352P2_CC2652P.
yes but I don't use ZHA, I like z2mqtt more
The Tradfri hub just works for their products. If you are lucky, other lights might work.
But I don't have that hub, so cannot confirm or deny it.
ok, as expected. Just wanted to confirm. So I think the "only" and best solution is the sonoff P version dongle
I don't know any other alternative
I heard about quality complaints with the P, but don't have own experiences with it.
It is still stated as "recommended" in the Z2M docs.
You have to read it yourself: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/zha
I have the P version and zero problems
I forgot the Home Assistant SkyConnect. It's also an option
thanks
Not a good one for Z2M though.
ok thanks for the feedback
Please, if you understand (I don't know that, I have too little knowledge in the field) and if you manage to arrange it, please let me know how you ordered it.
what do you mean?
How to flash the right firmware
in what? the E?
What you have been asking for is technically impossible.
You cannot flash a firmware for an EFR chip onto a CC one. You would have to buy hardware with the according chipset.
A ZBDongle-P will not become a ZBDongle-E magically by flashing other firmware
I will not get the E version if it's experimental
But therein lies the problem. How can I find out the hardware on my Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus?
I'm looking at https://itead.cc/product/zigbee-3-0-usb-dongle/ and I'm too savvy to understand what they recommend at https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/zha under RECOMMENDED ZIGBEE RADIO ADAPTERS AND MODULES
I don't use ZHA
Look at the delivered documentation of the ZBDongle.
But if the present firmware is Z-Stack firmware CC1352P2_CC2652P you have a P model.
I found what I bought: SONOFF ZB Dongle-P USB Dongle Plus Zigbee 3.0 Wireless Zigbee Gateway and then changed the firmware as shown https://youtu.be/KBAGWBWBATg.
There you go. In that case you will NEVER get a EFR32MG21 firmware with that hardware
Apparently I have everything as needed: Texas Instruments based radios (via the zigpy-znp library for zigpy)
CC2652P/CC2652R/CC2652RB USB stick, module, or dev board hardware flashed with Z-Stack coordinator firmware. However, I have a problem connecting some Tuya zigbee devices. I posted a log earlier
The only thing that is still possible is that I have outdated firmware! Do you have a link to the current firmware?
No
Could this be the correct firmware page? and if it is or do you happen to know which one is right for my USB Zigbee. And if it is or you happen to know which one is right for my USB Zigbee
You should watch the YT video, you posted.
Ok. Thanks for help.
The link is on that YouTube video…
Hi, I have zigbee light strip set up in z2m. There the transition is set to 1 sec. I have one zigbee button which is not bond to the strip and controls its on/off using HA automation. There the transition is there.
Today I got another button which is now bond to the strip. But the on/off control of the this button doesn't have the transition effect on the strip. What could be the reason?
A direct pairing might not provide a transition.
The transition is there for the same model of the button and another bulb bond together
Would this be something from the reciever side?
That might depend on the used brands.
Why my Zigbee devices keep failing?
On this issue I used the automation for the on/off and added the transition there. then eveyrthing is fine
In the mqtt trigger, in the payload can you use wild card or regexp?
For example, only get triggered when a specific action type is fired
I'm looking for a relais and a remote which support binding. Any suggestions?
Hi, I'm unable to update periodically the state of a lamp with HA. I tried many ways, but I cannot figure it out:
service: mqtt.publish data: qos: 0 retain: false topic: zigbee2mqtt/name-of-lamp/get payload: "\"{\\\"State\\\":\\\"\"}\""`
Anyone have experience on how to enable LAN access in a Aqara Hub M1S Gen 2 hub? Or maybe I am better off getting a Zigbee usb dongle instead, and getting rid of the Aqara hub.
Can I determine somehow which devices are bound?
@pallid echo I converted your message into a file since it's above 15 lines :+1:
oh, it seems we cannot drop images here ?
typo : currently, all plugged devices are marked offline in Z2M, and all the battery ones are fine
typo : everyday some of the plugged devices
(I cannot edit since HA bot posted in my place…)
uh I just realized, this has to do with availability timeouts… So everything is down, not only plugged devices
and everything comes back online every day nearly at the same time
any idea anyone on why everything would drop like that and come back again the day after ?
I don't think that will be any different than just tracking the state of the HA entity for that lamp
The state of the lamp is wrong, if I manually switch the lamp on/off by pressing the button on top of the lamp.
Pressing the refresh button in the z2m webinterface effectifly updates the state of the lamp.
If I press the refresh button I see the following output in the z2m log:
Debug 2024-02-18 18:05:52Received MQTT message on 'zigbee2mqtt/Tischlampe-Schlafzimmer/get' with data '{"state":""}' Debug 2024-02-18 18:05:52Publishing get 'get' 'state' to 'Tischlampe-Schlafzimmer' Debug 2024-02-18 18:05:52Received Zigbee message from 'Tischlampe-Schlafzimmer', type 'readResponse', cluster 'genOnOff', data '{"onOff":1}' from endpoint 11 with groupID 0
I want to reproduce the refresh button within HA in order to get the current state of the lamp.
Hi all, what's your recommened way of picking up double clicks of a zigbee switch that does not natively support double click? I used the way before not not sure if there's a better way.
@frigid quartz I converted your message into a file since it's above 15 lines :+1:
What this does is to double click up to enable color mode switching. Then each following up click gives a random color. In the end a down click exit this mode.
Anyone know if these will work with ZHA? They don't appear on blakadder. Good price. Lukasz 1 PCS Tuya Zigbee Smart Socket Home Powers Monitor Powers Outlet 16A Smart Life Voice Control Alexa Timing UK Plug https://amzn.eu/d/b4ySfsv
Well it says tuya
It might somewhat work as generic one if that isn't a fancy version chip
I would look to buy something else tbh
Maybe, but since it’s just a plug, it should be easy to add if it‘s not yet supported
Power monitoring isn’t that great on Tuya plugs though
Thanks. I think I saw somewhere it may not give energy readings which is a pity. I might order one just to try.
Looking for some help with a tube coordinator. I have about 50 devices in my zigbee network and I add it 3 more switches and caused my whle zigbee network to become unresponsive.
error 2024-02-24 17:31:26Publish 'set' 'color_temp' to 'Kitchen 4' failed: 'Error: Command 0x0017880109606fb3/11 lightingColorCtrl.moveToColorTemp({"colortemp":200,"transtime":10}, {"timeout":10000,"disableResponse":false,"disableRecovery":false,"disableDefaultResponse":false,"direction":0,"srcEndpoint":null,"reservedBits":0,"manufacturerCode":null,"transactionSequenceNumber":null,"writeUndiv":false}) failed (Data request failed with error: 'undefined' (25))'
I keep getting this everywhere with all my lights
I have about 15 inovelli switches and about 30+ hue lights
Nothing is responding and now anything that I try to reinterview fails
@smoky anvil try restarting the coordinator or power cycling it. Also give z2m a restart after that.
I have done that
Thanks for your reply @molten linden
There seem to be a bigger issue I am trying to reinterview devices and they all fail
Even deleting them and reading them fails with an interview failure
This only happen after adding my last three switches which was odd
Everything is inovelli
I am removing everything as is driving the family insane and they are driving me nutz hahaha
The P7 poe
Have not seen any issues with the p7 certainly like this
Any environmental changes new devices outside of zigbee?
Trying to remove everything
No
Just add more switches lol
Can you stop z2m and try an energy scan? If you are on HAOS I have an addon that makes it fairly easy to do
Sure, give me a min as I am in a ladder 10ft up
🤣
Trying to reset my patio lights
ok doing the scann
Failed to save add-on configuration, Missing required option 'device' in TubesZB Zigpy-CLI Tools (d0f5a498_tzb-zigpy-cli-tools). Got {'network_device': '10.30.2.9:6638', 'device': None, 'device_type': False, 'action': 'energy-scan', 'radio_type': 'znp', 'baudrate': '115200'}
Check the log tab
It will run continuously until addon is stopped
Cool. I wanted you to run this just to prove coordinator was connecting and running okay
but I no longer have that
25 does look better but 20 is not awful
I’m kind of at a loss here.
You could remove a few devices and see if things start working. Hate to tell someone to start from scratch
you did try restarting z2m right?
when it rescanns it it does not finish the interview and it fails
yes
That sounds like interference to me.
The whole joining process is really dependent on the device
Coord just listens.
I try any of my devices and even the hue lights same issue
I guess ill restart and do channel 25
shit load of devices
uffff
an all nighter
I’m not great with z2m logs, are you able to turn on debug logs and see if anything interesting happens on restart.
nothjing really
anybody know of a door handle that's like this with fingerprint, but also integrates with zigbee?
https://www.amazon.com/GeekTale-Fingerprint-Handle-Bedroom-Apartments/dp/B0CLGS2Y5T
i'm looking for one that looks nice, preferably in oil rubbed bronze and squareish themed like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CB3JDSKJ
but i can't find any that don't use some obscure chinese wifi app
looking for something i can automate with using homeassistant
rejoining all switches first
@analog perch changing channel and with the help of @grim igloo by removing the db file and json I am able to re add everything and no issues so far
ALl online, Thanks @molten linden
I have been looking for the same set of parameters as you. The U100 would be a nice option, but Aqara has encrypted the zigbee connection on this lock so it will only work with their hub (Matter compatible). The best option I’ve found so far is to purchase that lock and their hub and then use Matter with it OR purchase the Bluetooth version of the new Yale Assure Lock 2 Touch and then use an ESP32 as a BT Proxy. Neither option uses Zigbee unfortunately.
Let me know if you come up with another solution though.
Anyone here familiar with Aqara roller shade stuck on closing? Motor state is also stuck on declining.
I use Z2M, I read that it might have lost connection, but not sure how to diagnose that
In my living room I have a double switch. The left one is a combo switch to turn the light on (no dimmer) and control the fan with 4 speeds. The right switch is a dummy when the controls were separate.
I want to replace it with a combination that will let me dim the lights and control the fans. With a motion detector. Ideally it would be zigbee. I don't have a zwave controller yet. Though WiFi should be fine as I don't have many smart home devices on WiFi yet.
I have HA installed on a dedicated box in my home with a zigbee controller.
Just looking for suggestions
https://inovelli.com/products/blue-series-fan-switch-zigbee-3-0 this will handle the fan and then pair it with their dimmer switch or dimmer switch + a smart bulb (such as hue)
https://inovelli.com/products/zigbee-blue-series-smart-fan-light-canopy-module this future product might also be a good option
new zigbee mmwave product for less then 20 euro. icluding a pir sensor and a lumen sensor, this time on batteries
wonder about battery life and if this is another spammer. i kinda hope it doesn't spam as much as other tuya mmwave devices do, because its battery powered.
gonna order two of them and see how they are.
Tuya mmWave stuff causes mesh issues. Not sure which models but we have a bunch of logs with them hammering meshes
Also hadn’t read your 2nd paragraph
yes exactly, which is why i didnt buy them before. however if they would spam while battery powered, they probabl wouldnt last more then like 2 months or so.
So you seem to be aware 😃
so i have hope the firmware is different and that they dont spam so much
if they last like a year its ok for me.
This is a fan controller I was looking at too
https://a.co/d/3hj8XWD
Does this item go in the junction box where the fan is mounted?
Does anyone know any UK ZigBee light switches that work without a neutral and have some kind of manual control for it HA goes offline?
That was worst case I can manually power cycle the bulb from the switch and it'll turn on
Have a question around Sonoff Zigbee buttons...
Have one button (SNZB-01) which I've had for ages, and use with HA no issues. Bought a second one yesterday, added it to HA this morning, but it's working differently.
Where the existing button has the correct events of "Short Press", "Double Press", and "Long Press", the new one has "Toggle", "On", and "Off" (and I can't link any automations to the button presses).
Looking at the diagnostics for the buttons, the existing one shows a quirk applied of "zhaquirks.sonoff.button.SonoffButton" which the new one doesn't (is just "zigpy.device.Device"). This isn't something I've manually done on the existing one, so I presume it should be automatic? But then what's the difference with the new one?
Or alternatively, how do I get HA to apply the correct quirk?
Edit: I have tried removing and readding the new button with the same result. Both buttons are a similar straight-line distance from the dongle.
Hey, does anyone had issues to connect mosquitto broker to Z2M after a somehow recent update ?
my Z2M seems to not connect to mosquitto broker after a recent update
What do the logs say?
Zigbee2MQTT:error 2024-02-26 15:05:16: MQTT error: write ECONNRESET
Zigbee2MQTT:error 2024-02-26 15:05:16: Not connected to MQTT server!
and when i am reverting to old Z2M it works again ! (tried to upgrade / downgrade moquitto broker leads to the same issue on new Z2M)
---- Let me know if you need more detailled logs from Z2M or mosquitto
What old and new version numbers of Z2M?
My 1.35.3 commit: fe0742a works fine.
new Z2M 1.35.3-1 and old 1.32.2-1
tried to reconfigure mqtt password for mqtt user/Z2M/mosquitto broker leads to the same issue
mqtt account works in ha when connecting locally
I'd enable debug logging: https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/guide/usage/debug.html#enabling-logging
And also check the addon logs for mosquitto and Z2M.
I should mention I don't use the Z2M addon but the docker image but this shouldn't matter much.
Z2M logs:
mosquitto logs: 2024-02-26 15:45:37: Client mqttjs_ede5b717 disconnected due to malformed packet. 2024-02-26 15:45:38: New connection from 172.30.33.1:57354 on port 1883. 2024-02-26 15:45:38: New client connected from 172.30.33.1:57354 as mqttjs_ede5b717 (p2, c1, k60, u'mqtt-user'). 2024-02-26 15:45:38: Client mqttjs_ede5b717 disconnected due to malformed packet. 2024-02-26 15:45:39: New connection from 172.30.33.1:57366 on port 1883. 2024-02-26 15:45:39: New client connected from 172.30.33.1:57366 as mqttjs_ede5b717 (p2, c1, k60, u'mqtt-user'). 2024-02-26 15:45:39: Client mqttjs_ede5b717 disconnected due to malformed packet.
so my guess is that the Z2M update is causing the Z2M packets to change when interacting with the mosquitto broker
in the config of Z2M i am still having same MQTT version 4
Nah, if that was the case it'd be broken for everybody
i will try to compare the Z2M configuration.yaml before/after update
same config :/
You didn't enable SSL for Mosquitto?
no, everything is happening ier normal MQTT (no SSL)
Anybody in here with a Inovelli Blue Series Fan Switch and using Z2M with HAOS? I have an odd problem... I have 3 Switches and all 3 show the wrong FW version, I am sure thats a UI problem... Shows FW V.04, Supposed to be V1.04, with that said... I have another issue and is that my Switch options are not really all the same as the rest of the world blue fan series... IE: there is a mode called: OutputMode... this mode should have Fan Mode/Exhaust mode, BUT mine shows Dimmer/On/Off.
Z2M Version: Current version: 1.35.3-1
my z2m suddenly wont start, is there any help in this log? https://pastebin.com/kL67rbpB
the Mosquitto broker have a ton of these lines in the logs https://pastebin.com/efp9D0FS
Enable debug logging then check the addon logs again: https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/guide/usage/debug.html#enabling-logging
Also enable herdsman debug logging. My guess is that herdsman is stuck on something.
The messages from mosquitto are normal. Just supervisor doing health checks: <#add-ons-archived message>
thanks so much for a reply. where do i put the advanced log lvl lines? on the socat? this is the herdsman log https://pastebin.com/by0HAuZ0
Can you read the swBuildId attribute on the Basic cluster and see what it reports? Should be do-able with the Z2M UI IIRC
Otherwise, did you try to remove the switch from Z2M and then pair it again?
Thanks for your reply! It seems like a know "string" issue with this switches. Eric from Inovelli replied to me under his board.
so heads up just incase anybody here comes across it again
so Dimmer = Fan. On/Off = Exhaust
this is specific to the blue series fan switches in conjuction with blues 2 1
so this sonoff dong wont start. ive this config and i got the dongle name from the hardware settings https://pastebin.com/LqUKLC9c this is the log, it cannot lock port? https://pastebin.com/pMhFeWYt
This is a model P, right?
How are you running Z2M? Add-on? Docker? Something else?
"adapter":"ezsp"
Hopefully E
it's an E
Kinda missed the v2. Carry on then but be adviced that this model is only experimentally supported. Make sure ZHA is not enabled here: https://my.home-assistant.io/create-link/?redirect=integrations
Yea you’re going down a bad road
the Dongle Plus-E was the only one availible in Norway... But this worked last week. My ISP fucked around the the fiber connection, and when it was restored z2m didn't work anymore
ive ZHA disabled, that should do the trick right?
Maybe. They can at least not both use the adapter.
Those two things aren't related
I would guess so, but it went to fitz at the same time. moving ports around for the HA green box on my switch should change anything either i guess. I think i did that
since a few weeks my lumi.switch.n0agl1 by LUMI regularly becomes "unavailable", while it never gave any problem the whole year before, any ideas?
stopping Silicon Labs Multiprotocol fixed z2m access for me
Hey guys, I recently successfully migrated from a CC2531 to a Sonoff ZBDongle-E using Z2M.
However I cant seem to connect any devices though existing devices in the network, only though the coordinator.
Here ( https://imgur.com/a/KQyYxsd Showing Child-Parent Relations and Disabled Sibling Relation ) you can see my network.
And as you can see, the coordinator (and some devices I added since the migration) is disconnected form my network.
I tried disconnecting my Dongle for little under an hour and reconnected it, the results did not change (See: https://community.home-assistant.io/t/rebuild-zigbee2mqtt-network/483108/2).
What I want to know is if this is even fixable and if I should at all.
How do people like sonoff vs third reality zigbee outlets. Both brands seem to be liked and are about the same price. But the third reality ones also seem to have energy monitoring
And are partners with HA
Is that in response to me or someone above?
Ah. I didn't know who h one you were referring to. I do have some of their motion sensors too
Definitely don’t buy the sonoff zigbee ones. Either sonoff s31 Wi-Fi with energy monitoring flashed to esphome or thirdreality zigbee with energy monitoring
Why not their zigbee ones? See I had meant to buy those but realized today I got the wifi ones but couldn't get their app to pair. I got the s40 version though which I found was way harder to open up
I'm ok with wifi but I want to prefer zigbee to help prevent things from saturating wifi too much
Then again I do have a good wifi AP. TP link EAP610
well as a rule of thumb sonoff generally dont have the best devices / fw
then the s31 (zigbee) dont have energy monitoring
as far as why the wifi ones, i personally consider minimizing traffic on my zigbee and zwave meshes more important than losing a bit of airtime fairness % to some wifi plugs https://digiblur.com/wiki/devices/plugs/sonoff_s31/ flashed to esphome open source fw of course
the thirdreality zigbee ones are proven successful here with lots of happy customers fwiw
is there a way to make the zigbee map force update?
Yea I don't have many devices yet so I ended up getting the zigbee ones.
I used develco/frient ZigBee smart plugs
3rd reality's website is just so sketch and non confidence inspiring that if I'd found them before, I'd have bought the frients still
Try to integrate Tuya Zigbee Motion Sensors into HA. I have integrated a SONOFF USB Dongle Plus-P and added some Tuya Smart Plugs and motion sensors. The smart plugs work fine, can control from HA. The motion sensors I can't get to work properly. The only thing I can see from them in HA is their Firmware status. Any pointers here pls?
You're using ZHA?
Did anyone had a situation when working lightbulbs go offline and ZHA is unable to connect? Pairing back does not work.
That usually points to them being outside the reach of the mesh, or interference problems
one of them is 1m from coordinator
- Coordinator is on a USB extension cable
- You picked/have a Zigbee channel clear of WiFi
- yes, it is
- it did not had to be for quite a while (not that it makes sense in a block of flats where 2.4GHz wifi moves through all channels all the time)
have problems with wrong battery state
why is the battery status wrong from one minute to the next from 100 % to 24 % from 3.0 volt to 2.8 how can i fix this manually i have already tried to overwrite the states but it is always reset again
Should I take the battery out and put it back in?
I was told to contact the zigbee channel here
Try a fresh battery, if that doesn't change the behaviour then it's a hardware problem with the device (or a second bad battery)
And yes, almost anything is better than Sonoff 😛
Xiaomi Aqara work well (with known quirks for the original range)
The only Zigbee thing of theirs I'd recommend would be the E stick
They ran out of development budget after making this
Not sure if multiprotocol would be recommended at all at the moment
👍
(This has been documented in various places, but mostly nobody found those 😛 )
looking for extreme small window sensors for a sloping roof window "Velux"
stripes are good but battery cannot be changed
Yeah, but 10 years out of one
my question is also whether smart smoke detectors are reliable and what you can recommend
They tend to not make a whole lot of sense
Unless you be happy about getting a notification to your phone when your house is burning down
Many smart ones make for terrible smoke detectors
UK consumer rights agency did a review a few years back and the only one that didn't suck was Nest
Things have hopefully improved
Wouldn't want to bet my house on that though
the sensor query interval depends on the device / firmware or can you set something in the homeassitant sometimes the queries or updates are too slow
