I think I have lost a total of 3 switches since I got started. Not sure exactly when but sometime around 2016/2017. My guess is they all failed due to capacitors that prob could be replaced if I had better de-soldering skills

There are some Kogan wifi smart plugs that are famous for failing a few months out of their 12 month warranty. Which is a shame as they were reasonably priced, easy to open and easy to flash with alternative firmware. I've replaced them with a similar item that runs hotter and are more difficult to open 🧐 . Just said that Nanoleaf is all done locally, no cloud. Cloud is only used for syncing, all commands are local using mDNS, well documented on their developer forums and you can packet sniff the app to see it
