Kinda-sorta off-topic? I have a Pi3B+ that isn't booting, and is flashing three times. (I assume it's three: the access light stays on, then blink-blink-blink-back on for a couple seconds.) Known good SD cards do not boot in it but do boot in the one I got to replace it. Is it salvageable in any way or do I toss it?

I find the best way to troubleshoot any Pi is to place it in a bag of rice, tie the top securely, then throw it into the sea. Finally, buy a real computer.

Honestly? Not sure. It seems to only happen on my UDP only devices and pretty randomly. But, it was enough that some of my wifi bulbs just dropped off the network for no reason and I haven't had time to investigate it further yet. So, I just swapped equipment and got everything running again.

Visually, the leak of 11 looks like the (cancelled) Windows 10X. It's probably straight-up running the shell from 10X.
Windows 10x was supposed to launch on tablets, small-form-factor devices, and portable dual-screen devices.
I'm 100% OK with them canceling making it a separate OS, in favor of rolling all of those features in as options to an existing SKU
One feature I wish they would copy from Apple: Include 100% of desktop features in the Server SKUs
Server 2016 and 2019 get close, but Microsoft still prevents you from installing some bits and pieces that they only want available on desktop SKUs for some reason

The point is it's a higher level of abstraction, generally consumption based not fixed cost

The people building 'serverless' apps aren't dumb. We know that serverless just means 'someone else's computer'. For me, the biggest difference is the removal of the whole need to provision/maintain equipment.
Like... I wouldn't call AWS EC2 serverless and some would. But AWS Lambda? 100% serverless.

That would be a solid argument if you were talking about some bloke you met down the pub. When it's someone as big and reputable as AWS, it's a non-issue.
If you provision your own bare metal on premises, you're still subject to a whole ton of other issues. Hardware failure, power outage, tripping on cables...

True, both have pros and cons, for example, I use a synology nas for all my data storage, but still use unifi networking which is connected to their cloud
And with companies like ubiquiti its not really a problem, their market share is large enough to expect them to be stable.... but there have been some companies that started out as a cloud service for their equipment, they went bankrupt and all of the sudden all of their equipment was useless...
