There's a couple versions of Atmos, The version that's actually a game changer uses a 3d audio rendering engine, it renders the sound in 3d space then places virtual mics in the 3d space and plays what they generate at that spot out of your physical speakers. The media will send location data and direction in the 3d space along with sounds being played. This allows for an absurd number of speakers to be hooked up to a system, 64 in total.

There's also the DSP versions of Atmos that are basically just tuning to make crappy speakers sound better.

Honestly, it depends on the door. Especially the newer Jen-Weld interior doors you can buy in bulk at the home improvement warehouse, the material is so thin where they strike that they start denting it and probably eventually punch through

I'll go grab some, trying to reverse engineer the wiring diagram, I'm noticing alot of unused wires or wires unknown uses

Here's another one my trying to pin point

There's a series of brown wires which are either for the hvac system or the door bell

At the doorbell junction I have three brown wires, one goes to the doorbell, other one goes to the transformer in the basement, other one is unknown and my trying to find It's purpose

It seems to be coming up from the basement.

And the wire is terminating to the transformer wire

So when the power is live I'm not getting a reading.

The bare wires is the mystery line

The one marked with red is again the mystery wire, and the dark blue is the doorbell and the teal is the live from the transformer.

Right below that junction is the thermostat board, which seems to be getting power from a separate circuit (also using a brown wire) I'm pretty it's getting 24-28v from the furnace controller board in the basement. Which is indeed on a separate circuit

The additional brown wire you see is actually a cut wire running between the thermostat junction and a dumb switch junction right below it... yes this is getting complicated ahaha

This is where I'm so confused

We can ignore the dead wire (I might use it to pull new wires up)

But the brown wire heading into the dumb switch is a new mystery

This switch is used to toggle a fan not far away in the hall

It's also separate from the doorbell and furnace circuits

Yet for some reason has a brown wire

And three white romexs

One is probably a live wire

And the other most likely goes to the fan or a light switch right beside this junction

I tried running a endoscope in the wall, and far as I was able to go, seems three browns are heading to the basement.

And a single white romex

There's only one brown coming off of the transformer

Another brown can be found going to the furnace as a ground

Yet another brown goes to the furnaces red main wiring

So I'm assuming their patching into the controllers line for thermostat power

Doorbell gets power from the transformer

Which leaves the two last brown wires to sniff out

The fan switch and the Doorbell junction mystery wire... what ever it is, it's getting power from the transformer and taking that back down to the basement

What's the point of breaking the bridge on that switch and going to the thermostat when ultimately the brown wire goes down to the furnace?

The thermostat board is not being toggled by said switch either

Apparently it's going down somewhere and back to that dumb switch which is the wire you see on the left hand side of that junction box

I can follow the wires deeper due to my endoscope getting stuck nor can I find the wires in the utility room

Well out here the only kind of coax available is satellite.

I set one up for the heck of it and used the dual wall port for the coax run.. (don't use it anymore was more of s curiosity driven project.)

When I was running poe cameras under the decks I noticed alot of coax lines, I'm assuming he installed multiple set-top boxes in the same room two for redundancy, the extra port probably goes upstairs for a slave box in the bedroom as there's also one there, for the coax in the opposite room it's lines are damaged, definitely was satellite internet as it goes out to a viasat 1 dish which I've recently recycled

I assure you it was, they had two bell satellites for TV and one viasat 1 dish, I took all three down and used the tower for wireless networking, and added a modern dish for satellite Television case future owners want it, least that was my excuse.

Putting a satellite dish for TV though just for the heck of it was only worth it because I got lte link hardware cheaper in a bundle deal, talked the installer in to letting me handle the infrastructure.

Which I had to self build out a couple of towers on the property to just get a internet signal

Canceled the TV in the first month.

Another peculiar find was a 14-50 nema outlet just sitting under mounted on floor under the stairs in a extra room

Update for anyone who was curious

The sonoff ZBmini seems to work flawlessly, using it as a power switch for my Wyze Video Doorbell.

Gonna pick up a white cover tomorrow, the extra wire just ended up being taped off, current running theory is that it was a unused or removed second bell chime.

The sonoff doesn't need anything connected to the switch terminals, I have 24-28v AC coming in Neutral and hot to their respective input terminals and the Neutral and hot with a resistor heading to the respective output terminals.

It took a little bit for my tubeszb coordinator to pick it up since it's a tad far away, but it eventually did and works with less then a MS of delay.

The wyze video doorbell reconnects to my backhaul ap right away, the delay on wyze's side is less then a minute.

This allows me to cycle the power if the wyze doorbell decides to get tricky even if I'm away.. which is prone to happen alot.

I'm also logging each state change and the duration since previous state change.

I did not need to put the device in pairing mode, by default it's state is set to off, and it automatically enters pairing mode without any intervention.

So 10 cameras at 10fps is entirely doable

What I didn't realise - and seems somewhat stupid - is they have a single level bus with 75 seats, but somehow the double-decker only seats 90
