thanks @waxen thistle
Welcome @split gazelle
capsela is great, get a bunch, it's almost free
add crickit, can do anything with it
Made it!
Hi @odd stream
@open girder i'm definitely going to be looking into it
I've heard of Capsela... never had any, though.
with servo there are a few ways
hey @odd stream && @lavish patrol
Capsela
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capsela
would depend on the part/motion, but easy to get things to work
yay! i was hoping for a pi crikit
@split gazelle Slap a CPX breadboard biscuit on a CPX Cricket and you can hook it to anything.
C3PO?
@odd stream good point!
CPX speaks CircuitPython and Arduino. CP30 ain't got nuthin' on that!
Press request instead of a Pull Request?
lol
heh, I coincidentally tried mu out today. Was quite a pain the butt to install on linux though unfortunately
Great job to all you awesome CP peeps! 🍪
Simone would approve, though
Simone has a bit of knowledge about those rude arms...
haha, exactly @eager sapphire !
@eager sapphire She would indeed.
Her robots....well they smack you in the face.
BANANA! *mumbles something incoherently like a minion
scale and function, all in one
how tempted were you to throw the banana?
@slow flint Plus your daily allowance of potassium.
cow bell robots 🐄 🔔
Rotary encoders make me spin in circles.
all the encoders
@waxen thistle There are a dizzying amount of possibilities...
I'm looking forward to revisiting my project that used a rotary encoder in CP. I wrote the handler in CP. This will let be get rid of many lines.
yet...
Ooo liked the boards-eye-view
👏 Thanks for all the hard work @spring heath!
any videography credits for the Made in NYC segments?
Mike's doing an awesome job.
@fallow fractal all the folks who work in fab' make these, on the posts they sometimes put their names, etc
on the blog posts/instagram, etc
that reminds me. i need to order a hakko hoof tip. 🐎
LASERS!
Mimms, Star, and these kits are awesome. I learned my first electronics from his Radio Shack series of books.
Thunderstorm coming in...
looks like a nebula
I made a video on the stuff w/Mike & the Gun as well as the Pi-Feather Adapter... it's uploading to YouTube now but is live on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/ATMakers/permalink/437922299952548/
shout out and hug report to @odd stream for the recent (and future) guides'
Here's the YouTube link (not active yet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuEzNxRRqmc&feature=youtu.be
anyone remember ghost writer on pbs and the slime monster story arc?
@pearl shoal once ya have all the links, email'em and we'll post up'
(hard to keep them all from discord during shows, etc)
I'll be publishing my first 3D thing tonight!
You got it... the Youtube link has them all now, but I'll write up something more consistent after I get food 😃
yay @odd stream !
Lol.
What's this thing that keeps telling people to watch their language?
Is that a Discord thing?
I'm thinking slime with servos in it... animatroic ooze.
My muse

is that NYC?

Q: So....the 25% tariffs on chinese products about to take effect? What will it mean for the average maker? Small business? Adafruit?
Just had a mega sitting unused, wanted to give it a purpose. We all need purpose!
@eager sapphire I have 4 or 5 of them ... little purpose in their life now 😦
Thus, some simple task for them. Like, making toast..
oh i totally missed that o:
Q: I was about to purchase a subscription for Adabox 008 yesterday. Unfortunately the order page closed before I could order, which is disappointing because I don’t want to wait three months. Is there any possible way I could subscribe to Adabox at the moment?

Are there plans for more of the "Adafruit Precision NXP 9-DOF Breakout Board", or is something even better in the works?
Hey! I want to make a small toy with about 10 LED matrix. Could I use Bluetooth to change images? Instead of a switch?
Life happens while you are making other plans.
Is there a way to check a gift AdaBox subscription? I still don't have mine.

I have an M0 adalogger featherwing with a i2s mems microphone sph0645lm4h with a 500mAh battery. It all worked for a while and then blew out one microphone boards (only reads 0 now) when plugging in my m0 while the battery switch was on. A few days later when charging the battery it happened again. Do I need to control the power to the mic with a zener diode / resister / capacitor or the tx / rx with resisters to prevent this in the future?
Should I post this to the forum?
The original Capsela line has been discontinued, but has been relaunched as IQ Key. From Wikipedia.
In a generic electronic system there are some inputs that are controlled by the end user. These inputs are read by electronics and acted upon by using outputs.

Wow! This has been incredibly helpful. Thanks again!!
Whooo! I might be able to catch Mr. Park move some eyeballs today. Next up, turning heads and raising hands.
Yay! I believe we'll be raising wings in the air today. Possibly flapping them like we just don't care @waxen thistle
Did you do prep work for the broadcast, @haughty quiver -- or are you just going to wing it?
OMG that's so bad it's good.
soon @haughty quiver hack our brain with awesome project
Good evening from Switzerland ! Cup of coffee ready, hacking a Feather M0 while waiting for the show to begin. How better can it get ? 😃
It's good here in the desert. Tall iced coffee on the side.
Hmmm.. user/adafruit/live is wired to tonight’s chat, rather than JP
@inner spade this is the first time this week I dont have an iced coffee with me, it's upsetting
Aha!
Oh ! Sound !
I feel for you. We have a pitcher in the fridge that's always kept full...
there may be a cold brew coffee keg at the adafruit hq 😃

@haughty quiver You might like Electroplankton for the DS, it's a "game" with ambient sounds that you create.
I thought it was Eye Cops for a moment ^^
Crickits have feathers now? I thought they already flew with wings.
OMG OMG OMG me wants Criket FeatherWing !!
Robot controller!
@gaunt plume That's so awesome
I don't know jack about robots but Crickit FeatherWing + Feather M0 with WiFi sounds like a good entry !!!!
I hate you Adafruit, I'll have to give you a lot of money I think ^^
@young adder Check out #help-with-wippersnapper-and-adafruitio and integrate with the M0 WiFi or HUZZAH ESP8266!
CRICKIT + IO = IoT ROBOTS
@gaunt plume I will ! Thanks !
Function function, what's your junction?
upload the changes
What items would you guys recomand for a beginner in robotics ? Given that I want to get a Crikit FeatherWing at least ^^
Sorry Matt, but you're getting cut today.

you could use a solenoid to establish two up and down positions.
or even a 'puff bladder' and work against gravity, to move them along the axis of the cup.
Han Solo cup?
Yeah because you offload the servo motion tasks to SeeSaw via i2c -- not sure how that behaves autonomously.
or at least, all of them. save a few fingers for later.
Awesome !!!!!!!
@haughty quiver you just given me an activity to entertain my daughter with this week-end ! Paper cup eyes !
Question directed at everyone: For cutting cardboard, what do you think of these? Or would you still prefer the traditional straight blade/xacto knife?
scissors tend to separate at the rivet
Just because you have diminutive wings doesn't mean you can't soar just as high.
The wings are normal-sized. Her head is large 'cause she's so very smart!
Yup, A0 is audio out
Cool.
I am so sad right now ... Digikey switzerland doesn't have Crickits ... My world is crumbling.
Great project! Like the creative use of everyday materials.
👏
@haughty quiver Thanks again for another awesome show! 😃
I wanted to ask, what was the name of that educator's youtube/media conference? I'd like to look up who presented there, see if they posted their stuff online....
Great show @haughty quiver ! Even without the servos, it's an awesome project to keep a child busy for some time 😃
It's called EduCon and I believe the hashtag to check on Twitter is #WeCreateEdu
thank you @young adder !
Awesome, thanks!
The subtitle for today's show could be: Beyond Beer Pong
it was 'unconference' style, @waxen thistle so I don't think there will be a list of presenters as such, but hopefully a list of who came?
I'll check out who tagged that in twitter, see if they're educators themselves -- look up their content on youtube/twitter/etc
I'm always into learning education techniques, especially via streaming and pre-recorded video mediums.
what's the simplest Feather that could be used for the Owl ? Certainly having WiFi could make it fun, but certainly not mandatory
@gloomy prawn do you know if Digi-Key Switzerland will carry Crickit for @young adder ?
@young adder The M0 Express is a very good, basic choice.
It'll run CircuitPython with Crickit libraries very well.
@waxen thistle My common tools for cardboard. Big shears cut well on short distances but on a long line will get caught up on the cardboard edge that will not yield the way of the blade and make it drift off course. The dropped blade shears you show may alleviate that problem a bit but it's the same with tinsnips, sometimes you need the left handed blade, right handed blade or centercut. The ceramic blade doohickey is nice but is not deep enough to cut thick double layered boxes. Use a real box cutter or utility knife, not the flimsy breakaway bladed ones. An awl is always handy for punching or starting holes. A paper hole puncher doesn't work well on cardboard. Xacto knives are the best but so pointy and sharp, maybe toss in a pair of kevlar cut gloves. Oh, and the other thing is a bone letter folder/creaser tool from the crafting maven Ms. Stewart.
ouch... for a $60.- cart, I would have to add $30.- for shipping. even with the 10% off that still a bit too much.
well, I'll have to wait for digikey.ch or pimoroni to stock them I guess
@young adder I'm in NYC so any orders would get the local/State sales tax which adds up to about the same discount code percentage.
@young adder @haughty quiver I'll do some looking into Digi-Key's availability in Switzerland. I know for some products ECCN classification can cause problems
thanks @gloomy prawn ! in the meantime I guess a Servo FeatherWing would be enougth to animate the owl https://www.adafruit.com/product/2928
A Feather board without ambition is a Feather board without FeatherWings! This is the 8-Channel PWM or Servo FeatherWing, you can add 8 x 12-bit PWM outputs to your Feather board. ...
and there are lots of those on digikey.ch 😃
Good news! When it becomes available we will be selling it in Switzerland, just confirmed the ECCN's shouldn't be an issue for the Crickit
Yeah ! You guys rock ^^
I'm excited to get my hands on one as well!
Well on that good news, I wish you all a good night - it's 8 minutes to midnight here !

@strange mantle ah yes, linked it on the youtube chat as well
Those Estes model rocket igniters are expensive and 1 time use.
I suggest you go to your local vape shop and buy a meter of nichrome wire and use that as your igniter.
but, since your intent is to reuse it, you have to manage the amount of power you send to it.
You can do this many ways, either by limiting the amount of time you drive it, or build a current limiting circuit.
@haughty timber oh yes! we were looking into those late last night
Since you are interested, I'll pull up my notes.
Bah! That's not the lead image. https://imgur.com/JUlAp1v
thanks for hanging out folks!
(I always shoot a few seconds of video of my circuits because inevitably I find a few connections in any still shot which are going to ambiguous locations.)
awesome! heading out to see if our shop has nichrome
I don't know what the current tech is. I quit vaping a few years ago. (Yes people really do get off of both cigarettes and vaping.) At the time temperature control was the new thing and everyone was moving to Titanium or Ni200 wire. The specific wire you use isn't that important. It's all about Ohm's law.
I just chose a AWG of wire that was stiff enough to hold its shape for this purpose.
is that stuff coated in something that prevents shorting across the coil?
was watching football so mised the show
I think you mean shorting to itself between wraps, right?
yep
It is not coated [initially*]. Electrons take the path of least resistance. If the coil does touch itself, the connection point will be just a few atoms, and the resistance is very high. So, the majority of the electrons will flow through the solid 0.4mm of wire (trillions of atoms).
And I say "initially" because the outside of the coil with get crusty quite quickly, and that crust is very high resistance. So it does become effectively insulated from shorts.
gotcha. so you don't have to worry too much about maintaing air gaps on the wraps.
Not at all. Vapers build very exotic coil designs usually free of air gaps. The first few times you glow the coil it doesn't heat smoothly from the center out as it should. But after about 5-10 cycles (of only about 3 seconds) everything balances out.
Building an igniter like this is very similar to build a battery welder.
So, I aim to be on Show and Tell. But I'll be getting home almost right when it starts. This shall be fun
So if anyone sends me the link so I can click it and join, it would be grand. Or I can figure it out when I get home.
@river peak I'll drop after I go in case it's full
Morning/afternoon/evening all...
Hello World! We all ready for the big show???
SHOW AND TELL is LIVE NOW #show-and-tell - https://youtu.be/ncd7a17yq9A
Hi!
Good evening all you wonderful people!
Evening @waxen thistle @haughty quiver
Alright, I'm here.
Hello @waxen thistle How ya doin'
Still rooting through things
@river peak Hi, "I'm here", I'm Mr. Certainly.
@heavy siren I'm doing better now that I'm no longer at work, with the AC on, and having an ice cold can of soda (a rare treat).
And oh, watching S&T + AAE 😃
That looks pretty nice.
That M4 is a fabulous processor.
@low fractal is a national treasure. Love that demo!
Oh boy, dinner has arived. Be back soon.
FAntastic! Got everything I need
@heavy siren Enjoy.
@heavy siren Buen provecho 😃
Ah, nothing like a good o'l Giro.
Hey, everyone can see my ugly mug now.
@haughty quiver's stream tomorrow will be a hole in one ⛳
Robots in a Brooklyn apartment? They better be paying rent for as much space as they're taking...
Love this game!
Ooooh
Sweet!
This was from Wizards of the Coast, I think, right?
Hang 10!
wow!
Well, not quite two years. Close enough though
It'll end up in the Atlantic gyre. 🙁
what does it measure?
@river peak !
Hopefully count of sea monsters per square mile of ocean
Great badge @river peak !
"Everything's Easier with CircuitPython." - @river peak
Much more bling than a star trek badge, that's for sure.
I could go on for HOURS about this thing.
@river peak The badges look amazing!
Like everyone on here, it shows that you put a lot of love and hard work into them!
It is, of course, fully open source: https://github.com/PhoenixbornTech/DigiBadge_Mini
that dark Samus is awesome.
It really is an awesome suit
So much cooler than the Varia suit!
nice use of the two colors for two sensors.
Next week will be a BLAST
Thanks everyone for joining the show and tell!
thanks everyone, for sharing!!
Great projects, everyone!
Live stream the fireworks from the Pick n' Place? @open girder
Thanks all!
Thanks for sharing!
What a great Show and Tell. Awesome projects.
I always say the same thing and fail to do so every time.
Well, it helps to have things prepared and not dump four boxes worth of cables and other crap onto the floor in search of the FTDI connector
you did just fine, @river peak! it worked...on live demo! 😄
@river peak Cool!
I also need to re-arrange things on my monitors so I'm not looking WAAAAY off to the side
Some nice projects tonight
@river peak Look great to me. I think you did just fine.
@river peak Need more monitors. 😉
@odd stream indeed. that Dark Samus suit is coming along quite nicely.
I say the same when I run conference calls @river peak @clear matrix -- and believe me, S&T is a MUCH FRIENDLIER group of folks than the folks I have to speak with.
@lavish patrol It starts with one...then two....then fourteen. But I need more.
Just paper the walls with them. 😁

@river peak My setup -- the TV was off when I took this photo a while ago -- I'm at 5 monitors, sometimes with an iPad using DuetDisplay as a 6th.
@astral gazelle Should be all lowercase,
@river peak not working even in lowercase. also tried upper.
I tried it too, getting the same error message.... 🤷
@waxen thistle Very cool setup,. My monitors are used for code, resources, help files, internet, blogs, guides and more source file text.
Makes my setup look boring:

adafruit is live at https://www.twitch.tv/adafruit
My mess is hidden in the murk underneath the screens.
@heavy siren Thanks 😃 It's a flexible setup -- chromecast on the TV for video, but the rest is a very fluid layout depending on what I'm working on. Almost always Discord & Tweetbot are open.
@river peak Where are the speakers? Gotta have some tunes going while I cut code.
Oh, for more info on the badges: I didn't come up with the idea. The Autism Self-Advocacy Network did, and I saw them at BronyCon (Paper versions), and went "Hey, I can make a digital version!"
So I did.
@heavy siren Hiding behind the monitors
@open girder @river peak Thanks! working now
That's not Kattni's voice is it?
It's not 😃
It's lines from the most recent Circuit Playground N is for Noise video.
@clear matrix You haven't been assimilated. 😉
Not yet 😉
Yet
LOL.
Much icons.
oooo nice!
That's for radio
That's fantastic, @cold elm full on spaceship.
I was just going to ask if you were hamming it up...
Actually no Net radio
each icon plays a specific audio " cart " like the old car system in broadcast TV
....those are very long minutes.
My ham stuff is limited to SDR which is not in this picture
I want to buld a full on spaceship 😃
I build things with PVC pipe
BlueManGroup would like to have a word with you, @cold elm.
@cold elm Talk to SpaceX 😉
I have , It was kinda funny

I find it disturbing the amount of stuff people throw out.
@river peak Enterprise IT. You'd have competition as to how much waste is generated.
IT waste wouldn't feed people.
yay trash panda!

Thankfully, we give what we can to the local food bank, and what we can't goes to either a local farm or a local compost place.
@river peak Don't you have a system where the food can be recycled? i.e. edible stuff given out to the needy or old stuff composted.
@split gazelle Good morning! 😃
Evening @split gazelle!
@river peak That's good at least.
Hey @split gazelle !
@river peak quick response! 😉
are tehy taking reauests yet ?
Morning @split gazelle
@cold elm not yet. its at the end of the show.
I was going to mention that there's a shelter near me that takes anything including open food, so at least there's places for it to go if somewhere is willing to put in the effort.
I have a special reaquest 😃
hey @waxen thistle @muted mesa @river peak @lavish patrol ! && everybody 😄
I met Walter Brittain once 😃
speaking of trash pandas, this guy visited our neighborhood yesterday

Tomorrow evening, I'll be at a cat cafe... Sorry, Digi-Key, but cats win out.
Meow!
will need photos @river peak
REcently saw pictures of an Owl cafe
yay @spring heath !
Thanks, lots of work
"They didn't think he would live past the age of 1... he's 37 now" That's... 3700% wrong, but in the best direction.
Oh, I like this voice.
yeah
This is excellent writing as well. Specific, clear, compelling.
Truth
Incredibly eloquent and captivating
Also, considering how he has to type... Took a while to do it exactly like that. Well spoken
I need to read up on this guy
@open girder You mentioned he has a website. Can we get a link?

@muted mesa Thanks!
Cool stuff.

Aha, he's a writer! That takes patience to begin with.
His words are still more carefully chosen

@odd stream great guide! I love "things fitting perfectly inside things" that were't really meant to be.

@haughty quiver Oh man
ikea lamps and CPX work like that @haughty quiver
The V1 DigiBadge case and the V2/Mini DigiBadge case work like that.
@haughty quiver Yeah. I was really excited to discover that when I really wanted a accelerometer featherwing a while back.
Cardboard Rube Putt Putt! 😄
@rapid hornet thank you for the direction at NOMCON - as I read your message I was seriously picking up Bill's Business card off a table saying - IS BILL BLINKO here?!?!?!? to others in my session! got to meet and say hi to @pearl shoal === wonderful!! 😃
when is the contest to fit things in other things dongle off, where you get the most dongles and adapters that still work at the end.
whoa the mini golf is awesome
@open girder the asus lyra with CPX with wifi could with some lamps for sure
@haughty quiver @open girder It's true.
The minigolf reminds me a bit of a project I have in the works.
that could look better for sure
As long as there is a pirate ship and a windmill, my golf game is excellent
@haughty quiver ASUS Lyra those AI Mesh routers look like hockey puck so nice way to add CPX with wifi feather near it so close connection to router
Is post-processing what you use on fences?
😃
No, @river peak, it's for mailboxes.
Connected Mailboxes

those are nice!
...and bob’s yer uncle! Really appreciate all the doodads and dingphods that Limor finds and makes available to us
the Finns name those as "sokeripalat" sugar cubes
Oh, those are cool. A lot larger than I thought, though.
Stuff that can otherwise to be very hard to find or buy in small quantities
Yay Finns 😃
PureAudio Array Microphone Kit for Raspberry Pi 3 https://www.adafruit.com/product/3850
Doodads and Dingphods. That's what holds the world together.
Carrying this is truly a sound idea.
I've been writing a graphic novel based on Finnish mythology
so i've been reading a lot about them
those are probably better than twisting wires together and then clamping them with an alligator clip to let them hang precariously off your desk
We named our Spaniel in Finland "Ihana" and people were perplexed a bit as it's not something you use as a name normally
Like Mycroft.
@cold elm Are you in Finland?
well we have some what need to screw
No , I'm in Vegas
@cold elm Is it finished yet? 😉
@split gazelle Less fun, though
@cold elm Finished. Get it? 😉
@lavish patrol you need 2 n in it
That was the joke.
yeah but it work with"Finnished"

same.
@odd stream That could cause corrosion...
ItsyBitsyM4Express is sweet as well.
does someone have a spreadsheet with all the different AdaBoards listed out?
@lavish patrol Just slap epoxy all over it.
i lost track at the trinket
you can always run out of memory 😃
@slow flint Make magazine usually publish one.
Yup.
M4 + CircuitPython = joy
ooh, we're having a ball with this
amiga ball!!!!!
Question!!
@cold elm you're up! 😄
Can you guys PLEASE sing us the Adafruit song ?
Questions now, type them up
comparison of ItsyBitsy M4 with the new feather.
Happy Holidays from Jose Warez! Who is Jose Warez? Well take a trip down memory lane in this comedy album that explains the origins of software trading in the USA! Seven tracks of holiday and general
Yes you do 😃
This is more than just a mention 😃
The Adafruit song goes: New new new...
think that screen to your pi
NEw new new!
Ok who built the trash panda game?
@open girder Why the J19 and not the J20?
Nice
have ladyada used those what use screws?
The Adafruit song: putting down some fat beats. 😉
@shell mason like terminal blocks?
Feather M4 Lightning with the J20? 😃
@open girder I think he's asking about whether or not we use screw terminal blocks vs the squeeze ones you just stocked
Who can take a resistor
Read the color code
tell you 'bout the tolerance
and use it as a load
Adafruit can
Lady Adafruit Can
Lady Adafruit can cause she
Has all the parts
To make your project complete.
Q: Any hints for the Adabox 008? 😉
@muted mesa yeah but those blocks with press locks but screws than press the button to plug wire or out the wire
Nobody wants to screw around.
amp limit on the blocks?
My 7 year old daughter has expressed interest in some of the electronics I've worked on. Is there a kit you would recommend to help get her into electronics?
i could use a SM polyfuse breakout to prevent sparky.
I'm using an M0 adalogger featherwing with many sensors and sph0646 - do you have any recommended ways to ruggedize my project for voltage spikes etc?
@desert crystal Phil is so right. The CPX and Makecode is fantastic.
sph0645
And the CPX is a beefy platform too....it's not limited by any means.
@open girder Makes sense (the J19). If they brough out a 1M/512K model it would be interesting for an "M4 Extreme" line.
It's one of my go-to platforms for trying out new things, since SO MUCH is already on the board. Leds? Buttons? switches? the collective hive mind of the borg? Adafruit's CPX has it all.
@waxen thistle Yeah, that's why I needed to add an accel when I decided to use the featherwing crickit.
@odd stream Exactly! When i need something with more power under the hood, I use the M4 Metro.
Oh, nuts, I just saw that Ruby and Billie are out of stock. How soon will they be back?
Congrats Marty from Seattle!
spinny things
Hi, Can an LED be standalone with BLE or wifi and a coin battery and controlled by and type of trinket without direct wires?
have to look watch the clock as its not dark outside even its night
is there an operational coin slot in the phone, and can you cap'n crunch it
@waxen thistle But the Metro isn't as embeddable.
@serene sedge the trinket would need a direct wire connection, since it doesn't have wireless capability.
@odd stream Agreed
@pearl portal Thank you again for another wonderful evening of shows!
AdaCoint slot what is new cryptocoin 😄
Thanks @open girder 😀

Great shows. Always enjoyable
Goodnight everyone!
I wonder if we'll hear fireworks in the background next week!
Goodnight @clear matrix
thanks for a great set of streams!
Next week, 4th of July, the show will be on
So If I send you the lyrics , will you sing ? 😃
@serene sedge if you'd like any further questions answered, head over to the #help-with-projects or #general-tech channel and ask there.
and yes we might hear the NYC fireworks in background
@cold elm you might change Lady Adafruit to Ladyada?
Could be done
Thank you @muted mesa
I'll get teh band back together
never a guarantee someone might sing, karaoke is down the street
Good point. I have not made the karaoke version yet
There is a Karaoke version of " Jose Warez you are a friend fo mine " though
Ok folks, have a great maker week, buy Make books at humblebundle.com, and see you next time

@spring heath Do you have a direct link that helps you regarding the Humble Bundle?
That's it for me. Goodnight all.
Goodnight, folks!
I should probably clean up the mess I made.... Oh boy
@river peak If a messy desk indicates a messy mind, what does an empty desk indicate?
OCD
Oh, it's not my DESK that's messy (Yet)
Also, I had to put an order in for the Blue Sparky pin. I've wanted one of those for a while. 😃
It's the floor where I dumped the boxes that I thought had the FTDI connector
The floor is just an extension of your desk.
@river peak it took me 2 hours to find my FTDI the other day.
Oh fun! I knew I had it on Saturday, and that really limited where it could have been
@waxen thistle i am using that messy desk line in the future. with your permission, of course. 😄
Just place my order for the week and now it's time to be a good husband. MAKE a nice day everyone.
Sure, go ahead 😃 [by using said statement, you agree not to hold me responsible for any verbal lashings you get from a significant other, family member, etc when a project takes a mind of its own]

Maybe we should change it to "Hello Universe"
@normal plover Great idea, ya got my vote.

In addition to obstacles, consider some devices that ensure a hole-in-one if your timing is good -- operating like a pinball paddle but on a timer.
Imagining playing nine at Rube Goldberg's Mini Golf Course.
I worked at a place that turned the office into a 1 hole course every year....a really long hole, but it was a blast
Is that paddle wheel an adafruit product?
The more triangular shapes, the better!
It's got a good beat!
@haughty quiver how about building a marble circuit with elevators and ramps and all kinds of cool automated stuff ? A single crikit should be capable of driving that !
a cardboard circuit, of course !
The slinky guide is excellent!
Got 2 Feather M4s and one ItsyBitsy M4 during the show!
30 Feather M4 gone during the show ^^
I ordered an itsy-bitsy last night, ordered the feather m4 today
Also looking forward to Adabox

OK, this is new. Hope people are kind.
@onyx pilot That's actually one of the things I love about Adafruit's community -- most people here are kind. Heck, that's the baseline -- many go far above and beyond that, and that's probably just the type of person they are at heart 😃
Very Cool. I was watching the Digi-Key video. Two input interfaces, at least. Thank you MC. Just want to reach out in appreciation. First for the youtube hangout with Phil and Limor +1 and then the Digi-Key guys. I have had only good experiences with them for many years. Just a like to tinker with things here.
I echo exactly how you feel, both companies are pretty rad.
Sorry, yubikey too close to audio jack :/
Will there be a show and tell tonight since it is July 4?
@trim mountain i believe so. during last week's show they said "see you next week", IIRC.

To be fair, if you ask anyone if they want to see more of this project, they say "Eye!"

Cool project.
Proof that time is circular.
@waxen thistle We've had the proof, but we haven't got a-round to it yet

Isn't it time for Andon to pun?
Even if Andon's clock is broken, it'll pun twice a day.
Great work Chris!
Excellent project, Chris!
@normal plover I do like to pun in a timely manner
Indeed, excellent project - we always have time for awesome work like this!
Makes my clock project look a bit lame.
We had Noe video for a brief time

👏
That's how most software is made. 😉
I rarely agree with anything, especially myself.
Software rarely agrees with me
@river peak are you software intolerant?
I much prefer hardware
...I'm not sure how screen share would work with me. Which one?
I like code so I guess that means I like software
@dense acorn Nicely done!
but adafruit made me like hardware too
I have one of these -- when it's ready for public consumption, I'd love to give it a shot
@clear matrix thanks! 😄
More fireworks!
@odd stream It's showing you right now.
@waxen thistle i'll keep ye posted 😄
Can I post the link to the blog here? 🤔
Sure!
Sure, go ahead 😃
First off, I’ve bought the Elgato Stream Deck for software development, I wanted to have context aware shortcuts for my IDE.
Sadly, I found out I had to use AutoHotKey to get even the slightest functionality I wanted, this prompted me to start investigation other options, a...

Ok, I opened the link and after the shows tonight I'll look at the post 😃 Thanks @dense acorn
Thanks, @waxen thistle, There's a link to feature proposals and the repository in the blog post as well 😃
Nice @odd stream !
And what's the ratio of coffee :: code? Some days, i feel I need much more coffee...
One to Two cans of Monster a day 😄
1700!?!
I drink precisely zero coffee
Moar pixels. 😉
Please, don't wear that through a TSA checkpoint.
Six cups/day. According to today’s news, I should live to be 200.
Not a bright idea 😃
If i drink coffee my bowels pick a fight with me
If I don’t drink coffee, I don’t reach conciousness
@waxen thistle Some days I definitely need more coffee.. some days are 2 double espressos and a 1L french press days.
Moka Pot coffee, tho ❤
Love that French press.
@dense acorn I have a Gaggia espresso machine.
If i have too much of the espresso, i can thread a sewing machine needle while it’s running
@eager sapphire That sounds like a VERY bad idea
I have a lot of them, @river peak
Oh, me too
ooo, bad idea emporium?
Tonight is the time for clocks
I'm afk for a beet
2nd term 😃
Ha ha ha!
Great timing!
Bunnie did a good overview of the topic.
I hope I didn't tick you off
@river peak has excellent timing.
More fireworks!
Supply Chain-ges?
Page 58 is of concern.... Rocket launchers; flame-throwers; grenade launchers; torpedo tubes and similar
projectors
@normal plover Dang it, that ruins all my plans to catch that Road Runner....
If only Acme kept production domestic.

I'm experiencing pun overload here... 😉

pats bot on the head. Better late than never.
i learned to solder on the playa
You think it'd be faster, being a bit twitchy and all
if you can solder on the playa, you can solder anywhere
@alpine nova That would have been hot and uncomfortable...
most def @lavish patrol
I'd tend to think if you can do deep sea welding, soldering on the playa is easy-breezy 😃
And dusty?
i had to get my electric bike running
I also soldered my shirt and bike lights on the playa last year
When I sold chips 20-odd years ago, international priority packet was US$9.00
but I wasn't cool enough to bring 2 super capacitors and use them as a welding soldering iron. That would have been cooler
it is now $33
i missed s&t - was that your shirt limor mentioned @narrow ice ?
yea, that's pretty lame
yep. Posted the link and video just a minute ago
wear your welders helmet, that shirt is bright
or to save you the trouble of scrolling back, there it is: http://marc.merlins.org/perso/electronics/post_2018-05-29_EDM-Party-Shirt-powered-with-FastLED_NeoMatrix-and-Adafruit_GFX_-plus-160Wh-_10Ah-4S_-worth-of-lipos.html

thanks!!
That look of pure joy 😃
LOL.
(And Phil)
opened it in a tab for later

@spring heath so, my shirt at full power would use 60A
60A, meltdown!
if I had wiring that would allow this and not burn through my shirt and skin first
honestly even at 5A it's plenty bright to blind people 😃
60A - You could start a car with that!
@narrow ice So you're getting amped up about your shirt?
60A/5V, but yeah. My lipos can deliver that easily, I think they support 150A or so
haha, I see the puns are back
@alpine nova Yeah, they can tell he's very bright
1700
1728
haha
@river peak Watt?
very close mike, well done
