Take games such as Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe. This game got delayed a lot, from 2020, to 2021 then for them to set the date as early 2022.

Hey devs! I've already rated The Past Within on Steam but I'm gonna share my feedback here as well. Here's a direct quote from my Steam review:

I'm still giving this a thumbs up because there's been a ton of work involved and it's a franchise that I love and enjoy, but it's sad to see that they still haven't gone forward from the flash game origins that they've started with. The game is simply too short. I hope the devs come up with longer games in the future that will actually add a good chunk to the main story and something that can be considered as a "full game", because The Past Within for me was nothing more than a really polished and well-made flash game.

It was amazing and being honestly a lot of things surprised me, i won't spoil much since this isn't the chat for me do talk about this but let's say the dev's/artists/voice actors have outdone themselves, it was worth the long wait and i hope do see them improve on these standards in the future.
If i can give any criticism i would love do see more animations on the characters, along with some emotions maybe [ie:a smile turning into a frown pretty much make them emote/act more].

But other than that it's good and i am looking forward to their future projects, i can see they've come far from their starter day's so don't let this demotivate you or your staff, you surely have improved and you will continue improving keep up the good work.

I've been theorizing on your games for several years already. And you know what?

THE PAST WITHIN MANAGED TO BLOW MY MIND!!!

Somehow you managed to make me and my opponents both right and wrong at the same time on a fundamental and completely polarizing point whether memory changes are real or not.
(Or at least it seems to me so)

Neither I can leave unremarkable all the effort you've been putting into the game, considering the whole 3D stuff, fine tuned user experience and actual sound design.

But still, as a theorist and achievement hunter, I'd really appreciate a certain feature. Despite being not the first to suggest that, my version will be more detailed.

It would be very VERY useful to be able to skip chapters you've already finished. Probably no matter which insect you picked at the start but certainly considering which of the sides (the past or the future) the chapter was bitten for.

That will facilitate lore research and fact checking, achievement hunting but most importantly will make both players independent from one another. So each of them can freely start a different playthrough with someone else and easily reunite afterwards if needed.

Love your games, love your lore, mammoth lives.

So… I have an intriguing idea for a T-shirt design you guys could sell. I won’t have much time to make a draft of a rough sketch on it, but I’ll see what I can mock up if anyone’s interested:

A shirt showing off the 4 cubes in a diamond pattern, with each cube having a background fitting its intended meaning and purpose.

The square diamond layout shall be of white or black lines for the framing, and some intricate designs on it could be made.

Top - Gold yellow cube behind a scene of floating white cubes and elevators going up and down when you’re beneath the lake (Of which Dale has experienced).

Left - White cube. Can show Laura’s room wallpaper or show the blossom tree outside the window… yeah let’s go with the former.

Right - Black cube, in red forest scenes players saw over jumps are imagery.

Bottom - Blue blueprint cube… not sure on the suitable background on this one, since I am not really knowledgeable on what it represents, so any recommendations?

The usual logo on the very bottom of the shirt, and at the Center of the diamond you could go for something really intricate in pattern… Vanderboom family crest or whatever.

Also, would be really stoked to have a poster or wallpaper of Dale or some other figure staring up and far towards the lake view by the beach side with all the white cubes rising up towards the constellations on a navy blue sky.

The outdoor beach scene from the Paradox short film should act as a good starter reference.

I just want to say that the past within was amazing. I was playing with someone who has never played any of the Rusty Lake games before and they were also just in awe of how much thought and planning went into everything. Moreover, the 3D artstyle was just so good -- you guys captured the same classic rusty lake vibe and enhanced it despite adding an entire dimension of complexity. And I love that both players get a chance to play around in 3d. I had a ton of fun, and like everyone else, the only "constructive" feedback I have is that I wish it was longer! Once y'all take a well deserved break after this release, I would love to see some additional chapters for this game itself!

I have a suggestion for future games. I was so excited to play the past within with my friend, but there was an issue with the gameplay. We found that the overall game strategy was too repetitive. You tell me this code and I'll tell you that code. This made the past within a little boring after the first puzzles. We barely made it through part 2. I just wish there was more of a challenge added to it and not just communicating codes to each other for hours.
My second suggestion is to make the storyline a bit clearer. We didn't know what was going on and a lot of things didn't make sense. Two doors with pictures on them? Why's that? What am I looking at? What's the purpose? A big ear comes down from the ceiling, huh?? Oh it's from the past, but why? It doesn't make any sense etc.. I wish there was more of a story to every single aspect of the game yk as if it was a movie, maybe it ends with a cliffhanger for the next game so there's something to talk about after finishing it.

I want to clarify that i would never, ever take my time to write such long feedback to a company if I didn't love their products. I love your work and I'm so excited for your next game! I havent explored the game fully, (I have completed the butterfly mode as the past and I am now playing in the bee mode as the future), but from what I've seen there are only two endings on the game. If i'm not mistaken it would be nice to add a third mode, therefore a third ending or a type of secret ending in the bee and butterfly mode

||the entirety of underground blossom was amazing, and it’s definitely one of my favourite games now. the soundtrack is peak and the cubes at the end being the collection achievements was the coolest moment of the game. finding the cubes was fun and interesting, tbh my favourite part of the game
if there’s one thing i didnt like its the fact that when you put a number code (into the suitcase for example) you cant drag it up from 0 to 9 like in the other games
other than that, the game mechanics were very good, the clock and buttons had pleasing sound effects and after fixing the black screen glitch there wasn’t really any bugs or mistakes. 10/10, would kidnap the thief again||

how about a roleplay channel ? We don't have that and I think a lot of players would enjoy being mr. owl or something, maybe we could do like contests to see who gets what role every few days and I think it could fun !
