well what you're looking at is indeed the role of the scrolls,

so the scrolls come in three types, as is explained in this message

the Type A scrolls were used to create a big "playing field" so to speak. then we use the type B and C scrolls for the number and letter sequences respectively.

The scrolls come into play all the way at the "end" of the ARG in the BKM backend.

How many people have a working VCR and the means to capture the video? That's the thing that's upsetting. I can see these tapes ending up on people's shelves as a trophy instead of for the puzzle

As much as having a vcr could be hard these days, you can record the tv from your phone
Also, i do think the devs are aware of those devices not being so common so dunno, maybe there will be more content besides the tape per se (lets say, the case, booklet, etc)

And in the end, if worst comes to worst, the devs prolly have the vids saved on their pcs and could just drop them here

lower case "e" = White square

printer = White square

flower (5 petals) = White Square

So, looking at the image, my 3x3 seems to be Row 1-3; Columns 7-9.
