Even as officer, you do get support for building garrisons/ops... but even in officer only games you get maybe max 3k. Unless you build garrisons all the time, but obviously I (and my team) was defending that game.

Example as spotter building garrisons for command:

(Closest support (besides commander who was higher) was 722 as a team. I did have a sniper - I just didn't include him in the snippet here.)

Best option is to play on community servers which there are many to choose from. There, you have active admins, decent rules and a resonably higher chance to get better, properly played, games.

To clarify the 1 square distance is 200m. And it's a 200 m circle around that garrison that another one can't be built. (Only exception is default garrisons on defense, you can literally build one next to the default)

Angling is good if you get caught out and have to pull some crazy moves to win the fight. Soviet tanks in particular have a nasty riccochet profile if you point the front corners of the tank at the enemy. Bad gunners will riccochet

You can absolutely bait ricochets, but you're pretty much always better using cover at the same time because if you expose side armour in a heavy Vs heavy fight then they're not going to ricochet. Just don't ego them all the time. If you take damage, put yourself back into cover and repair. Getting the first shot is the best way to win a tank fight

Can't we take down enemy garrisons located in an enemy territory in offensive game mode? I tried to take down one in a game and i was getting a countdown before going KIA.

In the offensive gamemode, no matter if you are a recon or a normal squad, the attacking team is not allowed to surpass 4 rows/columns deep within the enemy territory. Surpassing the 4/5th sectors border will give you a 10 second countdown on foot and a 30 second countdown in a vehicle.
If you happen to see a garrison deeper, you have two options, both are valid, but Option 1 most likely will grant better long-term results.
Option 1: Note down the position marking it for now and re-mark it later when the info is relevant to your teams goals.
Option 2: Get some sort of ranged explosive (AT bazooka, Satchel if it's really close to the border, tank shell, molotov, bombing run (not recommended) or precision strike (not recommended)) to destroy it.

Steam is obviously better, but there isnt a big diffrence. Only thing i know is that the Server browser on epic is capped to 500 servers. Steam has all of them.

In practice they're the same game. The server browser works slightly differently (Epic loads faster but doesn't always show every server) but that's about it.

It mostly just comes down to what platform you prefer and/or where the game is currently cheaper (if there is even a difference, most likely not)

Maybe the channel's hidden. Check at the top left in the channel list, near the top it should say "Channels & Roles", there you can select which channels show up and which don't.
Might be the case that the pc one is hidden for you for whatever reason

Play as you would play infantry, enter corners angled, look before advancing, read the map to prevent ambushes, etc.

I absolutely get what you mean. Personally, I'd recommend that you look for someone who is willing to teach you the game both in theory and practive. Go ask QuittenTime in DMs, he offered it here already multiple times. Getting help from an individual player is much more helpful than watching two hours of (outdated) tutorials on YouTube or getting roflstomped on servers

Yes, they are and much.
There's 0 administration or rules on official servers, they're just placed up and that's it.
As where community ran servers have a significantly higher chance of providing you with a better set of players to play with (and better not just from the skill PoV).
There you'll also see set rules that people have agreed upon and quite active and responsive administration.

Hey guys, need some pointers for playing Command. Is this an appropriate channel for that type of question or no?

Certainly can! The ones I remember are to spawn a supply truck for engineers at the beginning of the match for them to build nodes. Use the encourage when you can to get +90 on the nodes, instead of +60 off a full set. I'd suggest a commander guide to help with more specifics.

Keep those communications with your squad leads. Also, PLEASE don't hide in the HQ area. You can be active and build defensive garrisons. Yes, it's important you stay alive... but you don't have to hide the whole game.

I take commander as "What do you need?" role, trying to give the team what they need. The only 'commanding' I do is "I need 2 teams on defense." for warfare.

I've had a command game where they coordinate everything, I just provide what they need. 0 kills. 🤷‍♀️

No, most of that stuff I already know. My first half-dozen or so games went very well as Commander, all wins. Then i started to run into matches where like, half the team would be nowhere near point (i mostly play Offensive), engis weren't building nodes, and the demands of "NEED MORE GARRIES" were hard to fulfill without resources or cooperative SLs

My question is, for those type of situations, what's the best approach as a commander? What's the best thing to do when your team isn't cooperating?

What kind of tactics can i use to make up for their shortcomings, or pull them back together, when VC instructions or chat messages aren't enough?

Sadly, you can't force anyone to build nodes. I'd just keep asking, hoping someone would. Even if it's just 1 set.

Just keep communicating but don't get angry. For the garrisons, you may need to just go do it on your own. It's frustrating but not much you can do about people not wanting to work as a team.

My last few matches as commander have gone very bad. Lots of toxicity hurled my way, team members blaming me for not doing my job. So I'm wondering, is that just "Toxic team, leave it", or is there something else I can do?

For example, one person was telling me it was my job to take a supply truck and just be out there spamming garrisons. I actually never considered that, is that a viable strategy for commander?

I'm trying to give the benefit of the doubt and understand if there's something about commander role i'm not understanding. Without communicative SQLs or engis building nodes, it seems there's just extremely little i can do? Or am i missing something?

I mean, if y ou see Recon taking out your back garrisons, aboslutely be out there building garrisons. If say you put a garrison on point, you can put one we'll say north south east and not be in enemy territory, but your point is protected and able to be accessed.

Plus, you can sorta see those pushes if you see your north garrison starting to light up, okay they are pushing that way.

It be that way sometimes. I'll be like "I have no nodes, I have nothing I can spawn on you." because I'll have like 150 fuel, 100 munitions, and 200 manpower. Most of those should be 500+ if nodes are active and you aren't using everything at once.

Some commanders tell tank crews "I won't give you a [heavy tank] until I get nodes." Which is a little extreme... but sometimes works! That tank crew will go build nodes, switch back to tank and get their tank.

commanding low knowledge teams is like pushing a puddle of water around. You cant tell them what to do or give them a coherent strategy, but you can make it easier for them to do a good thing over a bad thing

through spawns etc. and they usually choose the easy thing

commanding on low resources is just a matter of experience, which helps you figure out the best use of your income and budget better

you can have 8 garrisons down the whole game with a mix of supply trucks and supply drops, supply drops are cheap and low cooddown, you can maintain blue zone frontline garries all game just from those

truck drops for the friendly territory garries and supply drops for the front line. I usually like to get a grid of 8 going asap

When I play pubs supply drops are usually permananently on cooldown, because even if you dont use it to build a garry now, you can later, and most low info players wont see or dismantle them sitting on the ground ]

Not at all, try playing attack on Purple Heart lane, (this is probably near impossible for an even skill team)

or a heavily forested map, your garries will tag red constantly, and it takes 5 minutes- 10 minutes to even get suitable positions if you get a opposite side next point

Defense maybe much easier, but there’s several options, like how to stall initial points, how you go for Garry placement with time a available and to max able your resources while slowing down major pushes, and if you want to build up, or rely on final point Hq Spawns,

Vehicle cap is a bastard on defense if you have multiple supply trucks

Also a minor issue is that you hit that 8 Garry count quick, if you don’t focus on it

Sometimes your best hope will be chucking supplies down field and hoping your recon tells you there next point on time,

Without good commanding and airhead your screwed while in warfare you can survive without even if painfully

Lastly the mode is exhausting on a close match, as you have to pray for each cap, as you only can get one or 2 airhead supported pushes, and the games can easily reach the edge of a constant fight for 2 hours, rather then a slow struggle

Warfare is just one hour 30min to get mid point, much more time to setup and with half the time on each duty, less precision is needed

It ain’t your job, but it’s sometimes what you need to do, the commander has no Op, and can’t really defend a garryhead, a trucks easier, and often your best bet, but if no one else does a job you better do yourdamndest to get it done even if it’s tedious

But truck driving is usually a good idea to perform as commander, low chance of death; and easy map use, vs infantry fights

i think the biggest thing for newer players to remember (im fairly new myself) is to remember the fight is not just in the black circle, its in the 4 grid squares around it, dont run to your death into the grinder, play within the 4 squares, flank, avoid main paths, hunt down enemy garrisons or outposts within the 4 squares, slow down, play as if its 1 life, its not like battlefield or COD where you sprint like a maniac everywhere, look around all the time, take your time is best advice i can give you, and try to communicate with your squad as much as you can 🙂

and always use cover, try to avoid big open spaces with 0 cover ><

Makes sense, but really you ain't gonna find it on discord. It just happens from game to game.
Map knowledge plays a big role in playing arty, since you don't rely on people to mark enemies nor' flares/recon planes. You can make easily educated guess' on where enemy garries are and what not when you know the lay of the land.
Your 32 kills aren't bad, they're a decent start for playing arty, it's just that you can have the same amount or even more by playing infantry and then you don't spend the ammo either. Goal is to make the shots count, so more advanced (again not really applying to you right now) would take like 80-90+ kills as a minimum for arty to pay back playing the entire game. Ofc counting for recon interferance and other bs that might happen.
But I think if you get in a decent game with more talkative SL's you can easily get that to a solid 50

What is there not to get? Unless you disabled something or are sitting on the PTE which I don't think Epic even has, I don't get how can you not find a semi-populated server.

what i mean is a server with some vc squads, dying running like a war. The issue is i don't have friends playing games. playing alone is boring in this.

No servers guarantee normal people with mics 100% of the time.
Your best chances are playing on community servers, so any server's that aren't "HLL Official #(number here)".
Most community servers that aren't dogpoop have some kind of rules around at least having SL's and Commander having mics and admins kick them if they don't.
Then also try and play during or closer to peak times.
Since even if you play on a good server, again, it doesn't guarantee anything, it just increases the chances.

I see you're from Asia, so I can't directly recommend any communities, but if you find a cool Japanese one, let me know. Might want to join for language learning purposes.

Your allies have a blue dot above their head. You can make those visible on 500m in the setting. Otherwise the only way to see a diffrence is the uniforms and weapons.

Okay good. Community servers are better for a good amount of things. If you play on the decent EU servers, around now and 4 hours from now is essentially peak EU time, so you should get some decent games with a lot of people comming.
