@candid hinge hey dude, there’s been an ongoing issue with this, it happened to me ( and I think a lot of other pc players) last weekend when I tried it. I ended up just keeping an eye on the announcement page until the showed a big fix for it. After that I deleted the game and reinstalled and it has worked since. Hope this helps!

I generally find the game a bit blurry. I use community AA on medium, and then crank up the sharpness in AMD settings to 80%. Others have other preferences, but I find this helps a lot

I'm not a new player, and perhaps I locked it to reserve room for a friend. Either way it's not cheating and this ban is false. The 101 clan doesn't need to report people for cheating just to own a server. I paid for the game and have just as much right to it as the next person. Or should I bring this up in a court of law against t17 where this is now an issue of I paid for a service and am not receiving it?

Xbox home button, bottom right there’s a sound icon, click on it. Second option is called game chat mixer. Make sure that’s not turned down all the way (or all the way to the left). It needs to be bumped up at least once, I keep mine at about half.

When not playing HLL and you join an Xbox party, your friends mics might be echoey so I often have to adjust this setting depending on what game I’m playing or what I’m doing

Use an aim trainer, like Aimlabs or 3D Aim Trainer, for 15 minutes a day. You'll end up better than 90% of hll players within a month

Most HLL are Granddads RPing as themselves. Most of the time, you can out aim them in most situations and be fine. Movement takes some time, but being fluid with your mouse will be a big improvement

Someone told me the other day that you can drop supplies on HQ1 and HQ3 from a supply truck, but not on HQ2. That seemed to work in that game, but it didn't in the next. Can someone explain the rule there to me

The defenders on offensive can do that in HQs that dont have a strongpoint in it. Attackers on offensive can drop into their first HQ, before it's captured.

I usually just ask are we on attack or defence and the reply I get is a pretty good indicator of how the squad will be for the rest of the match.

Do map pings mean anything? In my last match I was an officer because the squad had none so I wanted to step up

I’ve found a stationary enemy tank, pinged it like crazy, not just the quick ping but on the map too, with the “enemy tank here” option

But no one seemed to notice

Did I do something wrong? Or were the commanders and other squad leaders probably just busy with other things?

Also, is there an “acknowledged” or similar radio option for officers to respond to the commanders orders without a mic?

As a regular unit member there is an option for that but as an officer I couldn’t find anything like that so I couldn’t respond to the commander

Map pings are important when playing and communicating with other teammates, they are also great to use when you don't have a mic. They let your squad know where enemy's are if you ping them.

Squad Lead pings on the map are available for the other officers and commander to see.

You did it correct pinging the tank, sometimes the other squad leaders don't listen or have trouble communicating from my experience.

I'm also a new player myself but this is what I've learned from other players and videos from #hll-guides

So far my experience as a new player on game pass for PC
Squads are always locked and I don't get invited after requesting to join.
I'm called a console noob because of the xbox symbol even though there is 0 crossplay with console. I've been team killed because of the xbox symbol even tho I'm using keyboard mouse entire time. And I get denied from every squad. If I start my own the commander ignores me quite quickly. I don't have this experience on any other game. I've played 5 matches or so on different servers, official included.

hey, im literally installing rn. i understand that theres alot of in game chat in hll and i gather that there is a good amount of players that are happy to help new players. but realistically, how common are toxic players that arent accomodating to new players?

ive played arma 3 and holdfast and it can be a mixed bag but you can still learn how to play without much comms, is hll much different?

Its rarish unless you are taking a role you dont know how to use properly or sabotaging the team somehow

ei, taking a halftrak as a transport, using Squad leader or commander role without properly using it [not placing garrisons/outpost] not building nodes or dropping supplies as engineer/support, etc etc.

but usually before people get toxic about the role specific stuff they'll actually try to reach out and communicate first. toxicity comes when you arent responding. So use that microphone, check your map, you should be all good 🙂

Medic and support classes are also good, just recognize with support that you want to keep using your supplies to build garrisons, repair stations, and at guns if able.

Starting out,

- Remember that most times chat channels in game must be opened at least once to use. If you're defending a point and see blueberries around switch to proximity chat for making call-outs. Call-outs must include a compass direction + a ping to be effective. Do not say "over there" or "over here", "on my body" though is acceptable.

- Identity which game mode you're playing, warfare or offensive. Each player counts as 1 point. That's how you affect the target sector. "Flipping" or "capping" the point happens at one speed you cannot make it faster or slower. When theirs more points than a defending team in a relevant Sector or Strong Point a timer starts. Timers are 1 minute for Offensive, 2 minutes for Warfare. Their are 5 status terms for an Active Sector, Captured, Capturing, Losing, Defending, Contesting

- Play with the role picked in mind, do your part. Most classes have non-rifleman equipment, be sure to use it all. And keep in mind each person in the squad has their own set of blueprints. Technically one squad can lay down 20 walls, 5 AT guns, 35 AP mines, rotating support class will give the ability to use 250 supplies, and much more.

- For lower levels play more defensively, stay away from officer roles. Especially in Warfare, in that game mode you'll find offensive squads lose the match and defensive ones win it. Think of the Offensive game mode as training for warfare. It becomes a kind of stress test showing you vulnerabilities of each point, and allows you to understand the best avenues of attack or where to post up and hold. If you're Attacking in an offensive and you're in the Strong Point circle, encourage players to "Frag Out" grenades to dig out infantry practice makes perfect.

- Pings and Markers disappear after from visual sight within 5 seconds of somebody placing one. However your squad leader and commander's stay up for 3 minutes, but they still disappear from sight. Reference your tac-map to keep up with Intel. You can also refresh your Markers bringing up for visual again by holding the right D-pad.

My personal recommendation for an NA team which is more casual is CHAD. But then I have some friends who run it, so I would be biased 🙂

For APL, I don't know fully. I haven't followed it for this upcoming league. Each league or tournament is quite different as well.

For APL, the matches are 35+v35+. So teams will agree on a particular max player count. They'll last the full 90 minutes, unless ending in a 5-0. All games are streamed (as a streamer - though it has been months since I streamed - I feel duty bound to suggest you watch some of my games 🙂 )

Most teams in tournaments have a comp team and then a community side to things.

For instance, my team probably has like 65ish comp players, usually getting 55 sign ups per game but over 300 community members

It is usually a server setup issue, nothing you can do. However there is an ongoing issue with XP but it may be unrelated. #telegrams message

This game can often be won by just having better spawn availability.

Commander is a facilitator role. It simply helps people do the right thing. So you'll often be the first to notice their attacks (hot garrisons) and suggest someone defends it.

Commanders don't have much to do, so hop in a supply truck and build garrisons. Everything else can easily be done while driving

Use map. Call in supplies to build garrisons in enemy territory, call in supply truck to build nodes (and keep one for yourself to build garrisons!) Call in tanks if people ask (not for solo tankers.. duo is awful as well, let them take the free tanks tho) use recon plane and then bombing run to support a friendly push, precision strike for tanks or enemy garrisons.

Just play it, maybe watch a guide video, you will learn

I got a dumb question, how often as a tank commander should I talk to command? I don’t want to bug and annoy em but I want to know where best to put myself to help the team. They always seem fed up whenever I ask, so I’m just making sure if I’m doing anything wrong as I consider me and my crew (my friends) as good tankers we average about 3-5 tank kills and 40+ infantry kills with 2-3 deaths.

If you're a tank commander, you are in charge of where your tank goes. Read the map and make a decision. You should ask for tank marks, let people know when you've killed a tank and communicate with players locally for rep stations etc.

Right that’s what I thought was true but the other squads just seem to go senile whenever I request for infantry support because no one said that the front had fallen (I took my eyes off the map for 3mins) so I presume it depends on how well refined the command is

In a public game, you're not owed information. You have to figure stuff out yourself. If your inf falls, then you need to move. Ideally before they fall. And you should never need to request infantry support if you've positioned yourself well enough. The people playing in pub lobbies... 90% of them are bad at shooting. If you're not near infantry, that's entirely the tanks fault

Cooldown for supplies, explosive ammo, normal ammo, and medic supplies is 5 minutes.

You can take 2.5 minutes off the cooldown by going to the respective node and walking the yellow radius for any amount of time
