I’m having a problem with Ready or Not crashing a few seconds after I join a game. It shows the message “Echo joined the game” and then the game crashes.

Here’s what I tried so far:

Verified game files on Steam (no problems found)

Added -dx11 in launch options

Turned off Steam and Discord overlays

Reset game settings by renaming the ReadyOrNot folder in %localappdata%

Checked and confirmed I don’t have any mods installed (fresh install)

Tried single player and training mode — still crashes after a short time

Updated my graphics drivers

Ran the game as administrator

Closed other programs like antivirus and Discord

Lowered graphics settings

Looked in Event Viewer but not sure what the errors mean

Try launching the game with the save mod option (just to be sure), it will not delete any existing save progress.

Go into a new commander mode save and try to play. If there is no crashing at all, then you have a broken loadout in the other modes and need to delete the presets

Hi, any ideas what might be the problem with my game crashing:

Game plays fine for maybe 10 to 15 minutes and then suddenly crashes into desktop. This has happened once in HQ while looking mission brief and three times in game Gas mission. In mission it happened while playing and after that I ran tests where I just launched the map and let it happened while standing in the spawn area. I tried with mods and mods removed - no difference.

Issue surfaced after LSS update, no changes made to the hardware or settings between updates.

I've tried everything to uninstall a mod. I need help badly.

I installed it manually.
Since then I tried deleting the pak file, didn't help.
I tried uninstalling the game, deleting the remaining files in the game folder, and renaming my AppData\Local\ReadyOrNot folder. Reinstalled the game. The MOD IS STILL SHOWING in the quickplay mission select with 'casual / normal / hard' options on the right hand side, and after exiting the game, In C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Ready Or Not\ReadyOrNot\Binaries\Win64 I see Difficulty.Standard, Difficulty.Casual and Difficulty.Hard and these are recreated even if I delete them, every time I close the game.

I've asked the author for help but has not read my PM or responded to my post on the nexus mods page for 2 days now.

I have no idea how a mod is surviving when I've uninstalled and removed all traces of game files I am aware of... it's like a virus by this stage

WER should take a snapshot of the event in Event Viewer, you might want to look into that.

If the game engine gets killed like that it's usually something in the system or other app killing it, rather than it crashing.
That or the crash handler isn't being attached correctly.

I've been having this issue for a long long time now and I have no clue if its a steam issue, a network issue on my end, or a game session issue, but whenever I go to join a friend to play this game I join via the steam overlay menu or steam invite (have also tried joining from the "Join Friends" box in the bottom right corner) and I will always time out and get hit with the "Connection to host timed out" error. I do not receive any other error when trying to join. Ive tried tinkering with game settings, verifying game files, checking my firewall settings as well as my router settings, reinstalled the game, and the list goes on. Hello, new to the disc so apologies for the first post being tech support and if this the wrong place..
I'm having issue with loadouts, specifically with the body armours. I have 2 AI squad-mates in heavy (with cosmetic) while the other members are light. but when I load into the game, half the team is wearing the wrong armour and cosmetic for them. Not a game breaker but ruins the immersion when I'm running specific cosmetics and loadouts.
-I've tried presets for individual operators and default loadouts.
-Gadgets, clothing etc. works fine. It's just the armours that won't change/default.
-Weapon loadout have no issue.
-Verified game on Steam.

PC players may now need to change their settings regarding mods after patch #2. They previously worked differently, but now may result in an error saying you are modded or cannot join mod lobbies, if joining a modded PC player.

In order to join host and have console players join, you must be completely unmodded as far as the game thinks. Disable both settings and run in safe mode if you have any mods at all to be able to play with console players.

You can safely assume it's mods until it isn't, in any game, by default. What you do, again, by default, is to rule them out first, before you even go report a problem to Support.

For RoN it's especially true since 9/10 people that come here just after update have mod-related issue.
