Why the game is freezing for many players?
This didn't happen before the new DLC update.
I can't play because of this. Every time that I start a mission, spending at least a maximum of 5 minutes the game freezes and I have to close the game by the task manager.

Well that's not very clear. It preloads the maps assets while you load in.

I’ve been having a hell of a time getting through any mission without a crash to desktop.

Ryzen 7600x, have tried running without expo (at 4800m/t) to no avail. Brought voltage down on the cpu and lowered boost clock speeds, still nothing. Zero mods, lowered settings, disabled Igpu.

When it’s working it’s grand! Plays at +100 fps at 1440 and looks great.

It plays for around 10-15 minutes systematically before crashing.

Seems to only be RoN that has these effects, have run countless AIDA and red dead 2 benchmarks at ultra everything, no sign of hardware failure I could see.

Any help is much appreciated!

Try updating your driver. Like the GPU drivers. My 5600h Ryzen with 6600 RX graphics were crashing so I just updated my drivers and it seems to work good. But it crashes after like 2 hours of gameplay

Hey guys I’m having an issue where my computer will completely shut off on RON when playing any map after 23 MHz per minute. I’ve lowered the graphics requirements significantly, my frame rate has been lowered to 80, I’ve downgraded the resolution from 1440p to 1080p. Playing on Direct 11x. My GPU is a 5700xt, PSU Corsair 750x Gold, and I built the computer 4.5 years ago. Any help is appreciated 🙂

You have to look for windows events, do hardware checks, monitor temps, etc

If you have good internet. I recommend rather running it directly from windows, launch it from GFN. Known as GeForce Now. Link your steam account that has RoN and it should let u play with RTX 3050 and 60-120 FPS. Internet is the only issue. If u got slow internet then it won’t work as efficiently. Faster the internet the better

Open task manager and check your cpu, this error either caused by ustable 13-14gen intel cpu or very small pagefile size

Update your bios with latest 0x12B microcode from intel

Cap your fps or turn on vsync

Simply search in google how to update bios on your specific motherboard, just make sure that latest version of bios include microcode fix from intel

Because of your cpu instability issue, search for 13-14th gen crash/out of video memory and you will find why. You really need update bios before it's too late

Just stick to guide and you wont break anything

or ask someone to update it, it's really important

You can crash in Cinebench R15 but not in Cinebench R20, it really is random.

It just shows up faster, again it affects all the SKUs, so update your BIOS as soon as possible

Every mobo has different instructions for installing bios updates, some need you to put a file on a usb and enter UEFI to update it

yeah so you're gonna need to extract both of these to a folder, run the exe to rename the file, put that file on a USB flash drive, reboot your pc and spam the DEL key, located EASYFLASH or EZFLASH in the bios somewhere, and then find the file on your usb and run the upgrade

probably not, all your getting is a ski mask and ability to host the 3 maps. so unless you care to play the maps personally or really want the ski mask, not necessarily worth it. but for $1.50 yeah might as well grab it (you can still play the maps if another host has it)

When I try to run the game through Steam I get a notification saying that I need to install Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime. It may not have controller support but it's possible to still play with controllers using the steam controller profiles though I've heard mention of UE5 breaking that but I've seen people still playing with UEVR just fine after the DLC update and recently when I left my controller on and started to play ron my character was stuck moving left and I didn't know why until I looked at my controller on my desk to see that a wire was caught on the stick and further testing saw that all the controller settings(That I was using for UEVR initially) were working just fine.

@flint sapphire Unfortunately for you there's really not many who use controllers so it's not likely you'll find any help here and the most likely people who could help are people that play the game in VR using UEVR in my case my controller settings just work and I'm just using a normal steam controller profile and didn't do anything special to set it up so I can't help.

Also regarding the AI, you're dead? I think that's pretty self explanatory as to why the game ends, at least in commander mode. Practice mode/"Quick Play" is there to see a demonstration of tactics

sorry i perhaps didn't explain well. that not what i mean, its that the the game continues and it doesn't crash the with the swat ai. i heard the issue was to do with cpu and hard cover for the suspect ai. so i exspected that the game would crash anyway as the swat ai want through the level doing the same stuff that would cause the game to crash if the player was alive

Oh I see, so you're having stability issues when playing along side the ai but when you die and spectate the AI can go through the mission without any performance issues

Yeah so, for a layman explaination for what you're experiencing: AI calculations require more processing power to dynamically react to a player moving around (plus all the things you may do at any moment which require more effort from the engine), but when you're dead and it's all AI running around, that tends to be easier for the game since its just simple pathfinding and not having to account for unique situations at all. It's basically just predetermined all the interactions from your death onward

Another example is booting up csgo and adding like 10 bots. Your FPS drops from 300 to 30 because it requires reserved cpu cycles for unique interactions between the player and all the ai on the map

And when the round ends your fps usually jumps up if most are dead

thank you that makes more sense, because the ai have to calculate based upon supporting the player who can perform actions at random that they have to react to and all the commands they give so. if there no player they can just pre calculate stuff with our having to account for what the player wants or dose. when i not alive its more simple they, i can see they quick think to secure room straight to the next door way and they all ready know what there going to do next. witch why at the surface level my pc, appearing to be able to run the game, the efficiency of my cpu can't keep up with all the calculations which become more simple when the player is no longer a factor. so all the issues with the suspect ai is't that much of a burden when the swat and sucpect ai no longer have to acount for the player.

Seems like I cant finish DLC map with AI (Mansion, to be percise). My game crashed 4 times already, so I enabled Outplayed to record my activities before crash

My crashes resolve around AI commands, and crash sequence looks like this:
Enter and clear - Hold - Continue - Crash
Enter and clear - Hold - Crash

Hold/Continue wont always give crash. If I dont use "Hold", then no crash will happen, but aint no way I will remember to not press Hold command while completing Mansion map. My AI will run straight to death if I dont micro-manage giving orders while they work on "enter and clear" order. Didnt had any crashes on other maps tho.

Coincidence? Intel problem? Is Mansion map really that demanding on computer specs out of all other maps?

Have you tried joining a public game? All that additional processing of AI is offloaded to you as packets from the host, so you might have a better time playing that way.

If you have mods installed, it changes your match maker. Unsubbing to mods does not remove them, if your game says modded on the top right, it's modded (if there's no text at all its modded)

Hello, I have a strange issue in regards to crashing in the middle of a multiplayer mission with no crash report brought up after. I'm unsure what is causing the issue. Here's what I have done so far:
*I do not use mods
*Attempted games without using wedges as there seems to be a known issue with that.
*Tried different maps.
*Verified Files.
*Full uninstall/reinstall.
*Made sure drivers were updated.
*Attempted playing on DirectX12, 11, safe mode.
*Checked Paks for any strange files.
*Verified my internet connection is good.

I would also like to add the crashes happen randomly. It does not revolve around one specific movement/item/interaction from what I can see.

Hello, I just got the game yesterday. I don't have any performance issues but I am having an issue with the game keeping my settings and loadouts saved. Everytime I start up the game I have to update my graphics settings and audio settings to what I want them to be. It doesn't seem to save them, it just sets them to default on a launch of the game. Secondly, when this happens, it seems like I lose progress and all my loadouts gets deleted. I love the game and it runs great I just want to not have to redo everything everytime I play.

The error you are experiencing is one you will have to look at online, it is not a RoN issue. As others have said, it could be caused by a window install, your anti-virus having issues, etc.

Assuming oyu already verified game files in Steam:
Check if those are already installed in "Apps & features" in Windows. If so, you could modify installscript.vdf of Ready Or Not and mark it as installed, as the game would launch correctly.

If not, you'd have to repair your system via SFC and DISM tools, uninstall MSVCR packages and reinstall them manually.

Hello, I could use some help. RoN has been a blast but it's also crashing for me on Dx12/Safe mode. Dx11 doesn't crash but it stutters so I go Dx12. On one occasion it crashed hard enough for windows to give me the blue screen and force a restart.

It only crashes upon launching or trying to start a session (multiplayer or single player). I'm guessing it's some caching issue cause the game runs without crashing whenever I restart my computer or reinstall the game. I have only 4GB of VRAM, and I'm AMD so the shader cache is only 4GB but IDK how to verify my theory beyond that...

It seems to start crashing once I've played any other game then go back to RoN, further supporting the theory in my mind but I'm pretty lacking in knowledge here...

The crash message doesn't give me any information, just that it's a critical error and not recoverable.

Can anyone make sense of it?

I've tried downloading fsr2fsr3 mod today and pasted the mod into ron folder, could it be that it broke smth?

Deleted it now but maybe something injected somewhere else or whatever

yeah the mod definitely broke the tf out of that game 💀 DLSS slider doesnt even change the quality of the dlss and FSR line isnt even translated into my locale

Question is how to fix it without reinstalling the game 😭 My internet wont handle it anymore

Think there should be a default graphics button

If that doesnt work, you may have to reinstall
