Solo like that you cant do unless you do a multiplayer lobby and set it to friends, if you want to do commander mode then you should at the beginning of the misson tell your team to hold and you go in by yourself

I mean the swat 4 gameplay is obvious worse but there is something about the old maps that I find more intresting, possibly because they have more variety with less reoccuring factions, but it could also just be like "oh this is cooler to me because its different" effect.

It’s seemed to be generally bugged, I did see a few fixes online but theres also a mod for improving it…

Consensus is:

Windows speech recognition needs installed, some settings are out of wack, or it just straight up refuses to work

Though if you have a working mic, the speech recognition installed, try searching online for the one number that needs replaced in files if prior didnt work, install the improvement mod and such it should work, then you just go “Gold, Fall in”

I started a new tactic for swat ai, which is have red team breaching and clearing then immediately follow them with blue team to cover whatever theyre not covering. works surprisingly well

they have a singular, very specific path for going anywhere, on certain maps (like relapse) their pathing is completely broken, they don't take cover, they only use grenades when you tell them to, and it's difficult to direct them to throw grenades right outside of clearing rooms

the main issue for me is that in open areas suspects have much better awareness and precision than swat ai. it should not be like that. random goons and meth heads should not get the first shot off pretty much everytime and be more dangerous than trained swat guys

on relapse for example, there are some rooms, when you tell them to open and clear, instead of going through the door you told them to stack up on and then commanded them to open and clear, they will circle around halfway across the map and go through a different way, oftentimes getting killed

for some reason my full bore rifle cartridges cannot penetrate cardboard boxes, yet suspects with 9mm pistols and submachine guns can penetrate the corner of a wall at an angle where they'd effectively be penetrating half a meter of concrete or more

i've tried, didn't really work out

so far the most insanely difficult shit i've beat was SE4 on authentic plus

but that was in a duo with some other guy, we did die a fair bit

on that difficulty, dying means you restart the entire mission

and yet still that felt somehow more fair than this

All it did was make the higher caliber guns worse, and require you to land 1 extra shot center mass. Which for quite a few guns is nothing.

We strayed from 1 tap cheese and now on 2 tap cheese. This doesn't change much IMO. To me it's just borked balancing. But overall if none of it gets addressed I at least hope they work on LOS issues at least.

@little hawk you know what my fav games with a "hardcore difficulty" are? the first 2 metro games, 2033 and last light. on ranger hardcore you take more damage, but so does the enemy. it feels fair and it makes the gunplay feel more crisp. of course resources are a lot scarcer too so you have to use them sparingly
