void had to make some required changes from first parties in order to get the game on console. instead of taking the longer development cycle they decided to do a one build for all rather then 3 seprate builds, unfortunately what the first parties required for console is affected on PC. And as you saw from reviews some players didn't like that, i can tell you the changes that were made are very minor in comparison to what first parties actually wanted changed. in #announcements are some of the changes, and these were bare minimum they could get away with.

the game devs are only responsible for updating the game. the mods are third party software created by third party devs. it's on those devs to update them to work with the newly updated game. really not that complicated.

there is zero incentive to use gas, your 10x better using flashbangs or stingers, and the gas only last like 15 seconds, cant even fill up a small room
