Suspect behaviour should be varied, because if every single suspect rushes up to you or starts to shoot you instantly then it's incredibly easy to predict

Agreed, this is why I'm excited for new hesitation animations. I don't like things playing out the same. Like cool take hostages every map but when it's in the ballpark of 80% of suspects using a hostage it gets old, predictable quick. The resist animations already got old and are telegraphed easily.

Shooting the suspect with bullets will help. They'll die every time. Using non lethals vs suspects on the other hand. They'll surrender.... Sometimes

map selection and you cant just go into any game anymore you have to walk around through the entire police office and then play through the story linearly

back in my day it was all in one spot and i could go have fun on epstein's island

You do each map once and then its a small 2 sec walk to the table

Well you can either play quick play and unlock all the missions and it'll be like that again or work around it by playing multiplayer friends only lobby and all maps will be unlocked there.

But it has been like that for a while.

You might incapicitate them as long as you're using anything other than a shotgun but less lethal items is the way to go if you want to guarantee they don't die.
