Id expect most detachment combinations worth playing will be a 1 and a 2 for most armies.
Yeah I wanna see some wild and interesting detachements too
Some fun things that are new and innovative
Im specificly interested in how they handle chaos demons tho
Since ill end up playing both 40k and aos
I also like that having multiple detachments and the Disposition system means that they can really lean into certain flavors for detachments without them needing to support the whole army.
Yeah I hope this will be a huge boon to weird soup factions like Daemons and Agents
Yaa all the weird soup factions hopefully get some wild and interesting detachments now that theres design space for it
I presume this will also help people run Daemons with mortals easier. It sounds like you could run, say, Khorne Daemonkin alongside another World Eaters detachment so you can bring Daemons without nerfing the rest of your army
I just hope I'll be able to run Aspect Warrior buffs and Seer buffs at the same time since those are the parts of Aeldari I like most
Bricky out here shilling some large coasters and/or oddly shaped mousepads
Interesting episode this week lol
Yeah they got hosed becuase he does them for multiple channels and I think they just restocked
Literally the week before Adepticon he'd restocked at least the AdRic ones
He’d done poorhammer as well
Got most of the base coats done last night
Unfortunately my dog tried to eat the one on the left
That’s a sign of quality
I really like the new primary system, it seems very fun.
We had an epic battle last night
Barry was proxied as a Lord of Poxes to get my brother to 1k points
Psykers did fricking work which was very cool, but unfortunately I lost due to not immediately YOLOing the Dragons to blow up the Land Raider, and later failing a 5-inch charge on my Scorpions
Plus some cool model close-ups
so whats the timeline on things uasually, how long untill we get more info about more detachments
Ander you may want to start having an escape plan from Texas, just in case

Don't worry about it. There are no ratmen under the city conducting warpstone experiments. You're hallucinating.
QRT: ezzyskii
Texas Tech Campus had multiple green fires due to a gas leak
Fitting that the Primarch that never felt seen would become the one that’s Friggin’-Huge-normous
“DO YOU SEE ME NOW, FATHER?!?!”
finally new info on the Venatari, been waiting for them
a subtle jab at how nothing in this setting works properly 😌
Fixing it would be heretech
details on the new terrain rules
I keep getting tons of ads for Aldi but ain't nothing gonna make me move from shopping at HEB
Towering units like Knights can get plunging fire within 12" of infantry now.
Blue should play mtg and green should play warhammer so green and blue can make some yellow
Also they are both awesome and I can help blue learn mtg if they want
Honestly I think it’s cheaper on average tbh
In the long run it is actually cheaper.
Legit if you buy one army warhammer is cheaper
It's definitely a larger upfront cost though
Yaa and a steeper learning curve
@barren gyro once you grab the post send it in here too
i think i might be legit dissappointed if Peter Turbo isnt Knight sized once he comes out
Yasss
Spreading it arround
thanks man! I'm pretty psyched by the response thus far
What happens if you become the default place to play warhammer online
I would find that unbelievably cool ngl
🙂
I’ve got a very big focus on UX and am like “why make things harder when people already know RTS/RPG basic UX”
I spent so much time working on name blobs and the drag and drop stuff, double click selects your unit, etc
It needs to be our 1st instinct on how to use it before we even go in
Like just all the standard default how to move things on the internet
Tts is so clumsy and annoying and finicky
Yeah a lot of my goals here were like "what is really crap about tts and what does it do well"
like the number row keys grouping units into stacks was a feature from TTS
what did you use to make the rocks they stand on?
Finished kitbashing my Slaughterbound
Green stuff. Easiest way to secure metal models to a plastic base, and it makes them a bit taller

Kitbashed my Exalted Eightbound too (big stick guy isnt kitbashed because i like his big stick as is)
Hell yeah
this is so sick!
I've seen this stuff a lot but I feel a bit out of the loop, what is the origin of the meme which has lead to people putting Calgar heads on everything?
I assume its the fact he got a new model shortly after having gotten an update
Calgar got a new mini last year alongside multiple other Ultramarines kits (Cato Sicarius, Victrix Guard, later Captain Titus and gang), and unlike those who were all new or had been very old kits, his last kit was from like 2020. Due to the rest of the fandom's general dislike for Ultramarine focus and multiple other factions or subfactions that desperately need refreshes (Drukhari who had just lost all their resin models, Grey Knights, Catachan) or range expansions (World Eaters, Emperor's Children, Votann at the time), many people were very annoyed. Memes started popping up that the desired refreshes would just be the existing model but with Calgar's head since clearly GW is so eager to make more Calgar minis that Ultramarine fans will buy. Immediate next model reveal (I'll try to go find which one) had memes that it too was a Calgar, and the joke has continued since for about a year now
This is one of the first ones
Khabs really don’t need new sculpts
thanks!
what do yall think of these changes
https://www.reddit.com/r/40kLore/comments/1spcj7g/comment/ogzezxn/
Thought this was funny
If only there was a 50 book series as to why that many marines in a single legion would be a bad idea
The numbers of space marines has never made any sense
Top comments gets it. Remember even the Small Legions ranged from 6,000 to 20,000
Not really
Tho what I meant about the numbers is more like the silliness of the setting where they act like that small a number of dudes is enough to take over a planet, let alone a galaxy
Partly it's also the paradox where each individual space marine is allegedly a superhuman hero of impossible valour and innumerable great deeds but also when it hits the fan dozens of them die like redshirts to establish threat.
You know, I really doubt we will get that much development, but it would be really cool if this time Ghaz actually managed to destroy Armageddon.
Armageddon is the renamed name of the Ork homeworld of Ulanor. Destroying the planet is not the goal for the Orks
I didn't necessarily mean destroying the whole planet, more like destroying the Imperial defenses.
It would be really cool of Ghaz took over the planet.
Oh thank goodness, was starting to think we space marines had been forgotten.
what i really need is some of the non armageddon based detachments
hopefully in the next couple weeks we start seeing some of them
Well I realized that the 70 detachments they mentioned coming with 11th ed, was actually "70 new and updated detachments." The updated part implies that at least half of those will be old ones reworked to fit the new detachment system better. I wouldn't expect many of them to be balancing changes, more likely most of them will actually look worse on their own, but they will probably be cheap on Detachment points.
I expect as far as new detachments go it will actually be closer to one or two new ones per army and like three or four for marines.
im fine with that i just wanna see the new stuff and the updated things for ppl im interested in
and that hopefully will be in a couple weeks
Yeah. It is just not quite as crazy as the 70 people thought we were getting at first.
I do hopethey make some of the ones that were basically entirely focused on a certain keyword or unit type lean into their themes a bit more.
It has arrived at my flgs
Guys, they revealed why everybody though yarrick was dead in universe. It is because he went after Ghaz after the third war, and he tried to one v one Ghaz and Ghaz picked him up and crushed every single bone in his body before splitting his skull with a headbutt.
The new Yarrick model is him after a Space Wolf Apothecary reconstructed his entire skeleton with cybernetics.
Also retroactively makes all of those memes about Ghaz getting revenge on Angron for killing Yarrick much funnier.
Oh no someone actually made this
perfect no notes
Okay guys I keep seeing memes of this model and it keeps reminding me that I don't get why people were reacting with
to this image. What's the joke on this one???
This is the actual model they announced
The meme is a very high-effort Calgarization of it
It is funny because sticking Calgar's head on every new model is hilarious
Calgar got a new model and then instantly the next wave of new mini’s included a new Calgar model
Da people will never let that go, and will be memes to death and back for centuries
Every new model to ever come out will come out with instant calgarization
From not onto infinity
Well his previous model came out in 2018, so it had been a few years but it's still a very short gap compared to basically every other named character
Especially considering the number of named characters whose only models are crappy old finecast ones in dire need of replacements (Kharandras, Vect, Rakarth, Draigo, a bunch of others I'm forgetting)
It at least helps that a few of the finecast casualties have gotten new models since like Yriel and Yarric, but the turnover on new Calgars is still insane
None of which are sold or have rules anymore.
Yeah exactly
Grey Knights will get a refresh in 11th. I have to believe.
Also for reference, the previous Victrix Guard were released alongside the previous Calgar in 2018 so they didn't really need a refresh either. However Cato Sicarius was from 2012 and this was Titus' first model as an epic hero and not just a lieutenant, so it's not all bad
All of this also feeds into the fact that poeple are quite negative at times about how often ultramarines get new stuff
Honestly they don't really get that much new stuff it just feels that way becasue they are the standard color scheme for generic marines.
This past year was the first big release for Ultras in a while.
Packing up to go home and it turns out I have just enough space for all my minis between these two boxes

On this week’s episode, Brad and Eric are joined by PancreasNoWork to chart the best course to collect a full 2000 points Aeldari Army. Starting with just a Combat Patrol and gradually growing your ar...
I know some of you collect the worse elves so you can decide how valid their takes are
Amusingly I have already collected around 1500 points without following like any of that advice
I never have the money for large purchases so I just string out smaller purchases over months rather than buying the combo boxes
I think it's just me though. Of the people who I know own models, you have Drukhari and something else I don't remember (Nids I think), Latter has a few Orks and Tyranids but mostly AoS stuff, Nazzaya has Black Templars, Bubbli has Custodes and World Eaters, Rasaar has a few Custodes, and Alpaca has Tau, World Eaters, and Tyranids
I know Arvon and Skrimit don't have any, and I have no idea what if anything Jebus or Limp have
I've got Grey Knights, Black Templars, T'au, World Eaters, and Kruel Boys.
Oh wow
At least 2k of the first three is painted.
I have around 1k Kruel Boys painted and almost 500 points for WE
Warp Spider number one!
Tried out drybrushing over all the black and I really like it
i dont really have a World Eater army, just a daemon prince and some Eightbound i got to paint
WIP
Boris Todbringer is getting added as a playable character in the next dlc for Total Warhammer III and he has a guest VO available in custom battles
(context: [language] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUwsmt4DlUM)
now that this has dropped, we should get some new detachments and things for non orc/marine armies right ? like new detachment details in the next few weeks ?
id imagine at least a month
I went to my lgs and while I didn't get to play any games as most people were there for Magic or Necromunda, I watched a Shard of the Void Dragon eat two Ultramarine tanks in one turn
Then watched 10 Terminators and a Captain get shredded by the destroyer character
the power of anti-vehicle 2+
🎵 when you can't even say... 🎵
i completely forgot if it was mentioned but is the Lion showing up on Armageddon gonna be canon or is that just for the game?
Probably cannon
Wait where does it say that Lion is showing up on Armageddon?
Dawn of War 4 and the Lion kicking butt with the kleptomaniac magpies is taking place on the planet Kronus
Also all Dawn of War, all Space Marine, Rouge Trader, and the upcoming Dark Heresy are all cannon
City of ash box officially acquired and in hand
Yeah but Kronus is not Armageddon.
Or even close to it.
In the 500 worlds campaign book it looks liek he just arrived in Ultramar.
Unfortunately my Warp Spider Exarch has been eaten by my ravenous beast. I don't have the green stuff skill to put it back together so I'll have to find an offer for a single Warp Spider model I can build into a new Exarch with the remaining bits. In the meantime the base is intact enough that I can still use them in game
After I get the remaining 3 and their shrine token done I'll have 16 models to paint black and bone
Damn
Finished up my Daemon Prince of Khorne 🩸 💀
The Daemon Prince kit is so good
i still have so many bits left i can use for whatever else
Language warning
Started painting my Slaughterbound but next is the trim and i dont feel like doing that rn
Finally with this being a thing we might get the rest of the factions info
Okay this is the actual best one so far
Some interesting changes here.
I hope that every Marine subfaction getting 3 detachments means that every other faction gets more than that, but I fear that may be optimistic.
Ugghhh I hate that we are back to 20 billion space marine detachments
10th had imo the perfect amount of detachments they just needed more customization not more detachments
They still have a stupid number in 10th
Yep
Surely chaos is next right
Smh
Slaughterbound finished

this at least confirms that demons are our own thing
and not dead and still got heaps of support
i really hope our codex is relativly early or theres some confimation about a codex or how its gonna work early so ppl stop crying
I don't think there is gonna be a Daemons Codex honestly.
I think the only reason that Daemons exist in 11th is becasue the existed in 10th.
I still have hope
huh, ill be damned, i was wrong
About?
i said next Faction Focus would be Imperial again
They say what the next one is at the end of every article
Ok now this one is good
Should have made that Ferus's skull.
The new plastic ones?
hype
yup, waited until they were back in stock at a reseller, so im getting both kits for 100 euro. Which is close to what the Forgeworld Dreadnought used to cost
My pal finished painting his purple orks
Yipppe more plastic crack
actually i gotta search my gold, i cant find it rn
Time to buy more gold paint clearly
Pretty cool. Sucks how hard Vessels of wrath was downgraded but as an add on 1 DP detachment it isn't bad.
This is also pretty interesting.
this is basically melee blast, right?

On this week’s episode, Brad and Eric go through all the Codices released in 10th Edition to find out which ones were worth buying and which ones were better off left in the shelf. That’s if you got...
It’s wild to me to think about the fact that the first edition I watched rise is already in look back phase
Im still confused about their thoughts on the Grey Knights Codex. Flavorfully, yes, it sucks that it is not more psychic but their detachments are all very playable.
Lucky for you there’s a longer video explaining that one
On this week’s episode, Eric and Stefan from One Last Blade gather up to talk about the Newest Codex in Warhammer 10th Edition: The Grey Knights! How many shades of Knights do we have in this book? Did Games Workshop grabbed the free wins and gave the shortest terminators their Hammer and Psychic back? Tune in to find out.
SHOW LINKS:
MERCH: ...
The gist is their weapons hit like wet noodles and no psychic
i never played 9th so idk how impactful psychic phase was but is that why Grey Knights and TSons have a lot of weapons with the psychic keyword? (which afaik doesnt really do anything in 10th?)
In 10th the replaced actual magic with guns that are indistinguishable from normal guns except they are called magic yes
was Psychic phase similar to the stuff TSons now do with their army rule?
To a much higher degree yes
Like even the tsons current rules are limited
In comparison
Like I’d say there’s 4 factions who have magic as an identity: tyranids, tsons, grey knights, and aeldari in 10th tsons got to keep magic, tyranids at least got to fall back on horde+ big monsters, aeldari got everything, but grey knights got basically nothing as their identity was hammers+ magic and both sucked.
not Chaos Daemons?
Aeldari got a detachment and a bunch of cool abilities on Psyker models, which is okay but not too fantastic
Demons will use the psychic phase if it’s available but it’s far easier to view the creatures themselves as having insane abilities than just being magic users. Though yes I probably should include them if only for tzeentch
Aeldari don’t get to complain about anything in 10th
I was gonna say it wasn't Psykers breaking things but then I remembered it was Eldrad who made guaranteed 6s for the Wraithknight alpha strike, and because he makes CP he's nearly always present in competitive lists
aeldari had the best version of every rule in the game
I am aware of how they work pretty deeply. They are the main faction I play and I can say pretty confidently that they are underpowered on the datasheet side but I disagree that the detachments are bad.
i mean they had them in the top half
but they are definetly accounting for the lack of those two things
Disposal Unit slaps.
I edited this up in like ten minutes a few months ago, decided to post it.
Has five whole pixels because this was originally meant for discord.
I need to sit down and deep dive all the stuff for 11th at some point
@muted turtle good news!
Veteran players were hesitant if the previously resin kits would still be supported in 40k, as apparently in 9th the Horus Heresy dreadnaughts got plastic models but then 10th sent them to legends
I’m still not sure we should trust them on that
Custodes would genuinely struggle if grav-tanks got moved
Why on earth would they send the new plastic kits to legends? They updated the guard too, are you saying you think they are gonna send the main battle line of the army to legends too?
We got nothing else thats good, ranged anti-tank
It was like every other post on the subreddit asking that question when the new Kits released. Idk why everyone is so worried about losing these models
The new rules shown of in the Faction Focus actually imply that they are going to give rules thay benefit the Telemon even though I don't think that got a new model, which makes it one of the first forge world models to get a detachment rule that mentions it by name.
I would be way more worried for the models still in resin like the Sagittarum and the Aquilon termies.
I think Sagittarum already got shafted?
No they are still in the Codex I just checked the app, I have a friend who loves them, but they will never get points or rules updates unless it is to nerf them.
Too bad, buffing their shots would be nice. Rn its just a bit too weak to take them over Guard imo
I havent been following the Edition changes too closely, what is detection range mentioned in the Sister detachement?
In the new edition, terrain works differently. If infantry, beasts, or swarms are wholly within a terrain feature and have not shot last turn, they are untargetable outside of 15" that is their detection range, if that is extended by 3" then they can be targeted within 18"
Ah yes, forgot the name for that
This is particularly important now since objectives are now buildings.
If the rest of the Sister detachement is as good as what they've shown i think its gonna be a must-take
I do not know much about sisters personally.
They're the Custodes cheap scoring pieces that do action secondaries or other Support stuff.
Oh, I thought you were talking about Battle Sisters this whole time lol.
I do know about SoS.
The Dreads detachement being only 1dp is nice but i still hope they update the datasheets to have 8 M. Custodes dreads having worse stats than space marine dreads feels weird
Not just that, they are M6 T9 with 10 wounds
Chaos players are salty they lost FW dreadnaughts that had just been updated to plastic
So they've been cautioning Custodes players that the same thing could happen to them, but this post seems like confirmation the Custodes will be fine
They have been trying to separate 30k and 40k becuase 30k actually has to offer good points per model to exists and they can’t have space marine players spending less money
The regular Custodian Guard should have no issues as they already had a plastic 40k kit and if literally nothing else, the new 30k ones can be proxied as the 40k ones (something GW has also confirmed they're perfectly fine with)
Meanwhile I'm an elf player and just want Kharandras and Dire Avengers to get refreshed next edition
I’d like my range back
Thing is Custodes exist unchanged in 30k and 40k so i dont really see them losing stuff
Wrong elves, sorry
Still tougher than the Dreadknight.
That the Grey Knight babycarrier?
Yes
If Drukhari get a refresh I'll probably branch out into them but for now I have mannnnnny normal and pirate elves to get
That seems like the trend. Have they not gotten to updating dire avengers yet? I thought they had.
I love the new Eldar Corsair models. Makes me wanna collect elves
We don’t need that much of a refresh we just need new coven models and return our beastmaster
No they're the only one that got missed because before the Eldar refresh started in 2022, they were the only plastic Aspect Warrior and the newest of those kits. They only stand out now because they're like 20 years old and everyone else is 3-4 years at the oldest
Kharandras was lost in the Warp to make up for the new Lykhis model I guess
Also speaking of Custodes dreads i wish they had a strike and a sweep profile. Seems fitting for them to have
Tomorrow is deathguard tho
Curious what they will do with that since they are trying to expand every armies options
STORMLIGHT WARGAME. STORMLIGHT WARGAME. STORMLIGHT WARGAME!!!!!!
Yoooooo
where are you seeing that
because that might just end me
okay so aparently "we" already knew about this
"Another upcoming launch is Stormlight: War for Roshar, a three hour war game that pits the forces of the coalition against the powers of Odium in the battle for Roshar. Brotherwise warned their audience: “Guys, this is the complicated one.” If the board game antics at your table are like mine, this strategy war game is sure to unite you and your allies while constantly risking a table flipping concession of defeat from your frustrated opposition. This one brings together the game design skills of John D. Clair (the designer of the Mistborn Deckbuilding Game and Unstoppable) and Brotherwise’s Hayden Dillard to blend the tactical depth of a war game with the approachability that Cosmere fans might look for from a tie-in game. Very exciting.
now i just need to come into a lot of money
Hey that troopers kids can becone a commissar now that’s a major score
Martyrs with kids get major benefits
Had a fun game last night
Including an amazing defiler proxy
And this kitbashed Daemon Prince
thats the funniest proxy i've ever seen
I love it
Finished building and magnetizing my Dreadnought
He looks amazing
He does but i still dont understand why the feet are like 6 individual pieces
It fit on the sprue easier idk
Lorge boy
Someone somewhere did a lot of math and sent things off to an optimization program that spit out the sprue
valid reaction to getting free Warhammer minis
WHAT
https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/xordlfvg/commissar-cain-comes-to-the-tabletop/
I'm gonna have to get this
Damn I’ll actually buy that
I’m not sure we had rules like that before and there’s a reason they moved to what they had now
They fly now?
So they have unlimited height?
Yes
And seems like height is free and you just have an activation cost of 2 inches
They fly now

The Purgation squad detachment is kind of a funny joke but the other two seem really good.
Grey Knights will continue to be a way stronger faction than people give them credit for.
DRUKARI FOCUS TOMOROW BEFORE ELDAR, we still dont know when the eldar focus will be
i know some ppl around these parts will be excited aboutthat fact
sad better elf noises
Not that we really need more detachments but if Space Marines can get more so should we
Lol. The good old Falchions, doomed to never be important again.
@burnt widget
ok my 2 sense is just looking at this not looking in the greater context of the new edition to much as i haven't done my deep dive. This is extraordinarily boring. Its agressively fine. Basically a buff to a very limited selection of units and giving slightly more consistency but outside of the pain engine stuff not alot of the stuff here patches up any weakesses rather just plays into strengths
Well the bigger issue is that these detachments can't be taken with their existing counterparts, which combined with Cults and Covens having pretty limited options these days makes it really hard to focus on any one part of the army
Wracks can ride transports, right?
yeah
My bro’s gf bought him warhammer minis and I just spent $150 on paint for them
Which minis exactly
Warhammer ain't for the lightweight bank balance that's for sure
Honestly tho if you stick to one army with in a couple years its easly way cheaper than magic the gathering
What paints
Based
Why did you need to buy paints?
Paints are like the one ring
Those are cool. Evil Pirate elf space ships that are pirate ships are super cool
Im also gonna assume these are the ones that were purchased below
Wow scrolling through the range for drukhari they do not have a large selection of models
Yeah they shrunk our range recently
those are in fact scourges
alot of our range you have to kitbash
That sucks
Speaking of paints I’m hopping the monument contrast paints are good so I can go completely citadel free
I bought six citadel paint colours
I’ll be real half of em were shades of grey
I guess they don't want 10 or 20 man squads making conga lines for deep strike denial
yaa makes deep strike a bunch better
Armored Warhost is still a meme but they're adding a ranger detachment based on sniping and spotting, and two new Harlequin detachments. Good to see
Booooooooooo
why booo
i mean you can still have defensive positioning its just not full coverage
Effectively doesn’t exist if it’s not full coverage
Becuase the minute you do you just allow open firing lines
Not to mention this prevents you from setting up walls of unit to protect your secondary
This is a huge buff to big unit armies at the expense of little guy armies
so more elite armies get a benifit ?
or do you mean more swarm armies get a benifit
Everytime I see the aow’s aeldari paint scheme I’m like wow their models look so cool only to remeber it’s only that paint scheme doing it
The former one of the key tactics you would do is set up a line of units (in Drukhari it’s wytches or sometimes mandrakes) to block shooting lines or movement. They fall apart when shot at becuase of how consolidation rules work but with that extra turn made it possible for low wound armies to have some measure of spacial control
I don’t think it will fully do this but this is gonna favor stat check style lists where damage and wounds matter more
Aeldari models are vastly cooler than your lame edgy Drukhari models
Laughs in boat
I can't hear you over our actual tanks, giant mechs, and plastic epic hero models
I mean not a fan of any of those designs tbh
This is because you are wrong 😤

According to the preview games they streamed, Aspect Host is 3DP. I imagine this means that most armies that have a generalist detachment that is just generically good will probably be 3DP. Gladius probably should be 3DP for Space Marines for example.
That does make sense considering Aspect Host covers a lottttt of Aeldari units
8 aspect warriors, the 6 phoenix lord models, autarchs, the Avatar of Khaine, and technically the Crimson Hunter plane and the transports
virulent vectorium ?
mabey for deathguards 3 point?
No confirmation on any other than Aspect Host and Ceremite Sentinels which is a newer Space Marine one that gives buffs for being in terrain which considering this is the terrain edition it is warranted. Hopefully if the generalist detachment for an army is terrible like some of them are, they will be 2DP instead.
I also know nothing about DG or Nurgle daemons detachments so I cannot even speculate for you.
Finished these guys last night
purple and grey look good
My brother let me borrow his purple shade and that made the backpacks turn out really well
The one purple I have is lighter than I wanted so it was good to make it darker
Now everything I have left is the same color scheme but is at least mostly pretty simple, though Seers tend to have lots of doodads on them
A good royal purple is hard to find
Now I be drybrushing a Wraithlord
This is the one I use I need to buy more
I mix it into like 80% of my mixed colors
Yeah I just didn't want to go buy another paint
First coat of bone down. I'll do the other coat later
Hand broke off but that was a separate part anyway and an easy fix
okay apon looking at things i might adjust my maggotkin of nurgle list to include a giant

In the 41st Millennium, there is no peace amongst the stars – only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods. Forget the power of technology and science. Forget the promise of progress and understanding. In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war.
Pre-order the Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon new edi...
the 2 seconds of the Eldar guy walking is the most attention GW has given them in years
I kinda hope they wait for any Drukhari stuff my wallet can’t take much abuse rn
However I think we are gonna be in the first half of stuff the backlash has been to large
Why?
Why is there backlash or why the first half
Why would 1st half cause a backlash
One of the prongs of our army is three models
We constantly have models that are legal but don’t exists
They didn’t replace the finecast they took from us
We didn’t have a second army rule until like half way through the edition
The models themselves while they look good are some of the oldest in the game not kept around to appease a space marine grognard
I think if you polled 40k fans Drukhari would be in majority of bottom 5 treated factions this edition
Only other ones that ring to mind are admech because price (maybe tau for the same reason) and the magic factions
Didnt Admech also not really have an army rule at the start of the edition?
Yeah but that was fixed pretty quickly
Im not saying we had it worse
Drukhari’s problems can be fixed by models admech’s could not
Both are bottom 5 treatment
Also in GW fashion, it’s not even actually a new shot of Eldar.
It’s just an animated render of ancient OG art
<girl struggling to stay above water while mum plays with a baby.jpg> <underwater skeleton labeled Tau/Drukhari>
you will get crumbs and you will be happy about it
Also cool we actually have a cannon and legitimate depiction finally for the first time of the Big 4 and the warp side of The Munchy Munchy Bugga Bugs
Also Big E over here using his psychic abilities to break the fourth wall in a single frame to look at 🫵 you🫵
This one is much cooler that the initial Armageddon trailer, even though it also has some of that trailer in it.
Agreed
This is like a "hey whats 40k about, you keep talking about it?" Vid
Absolutely, if Henry Cavil's TV show does not start with the classic opening monologue I will riot.
Did some work on my lists today and this is the only difference between my aos list and my 40k list
Oh and after Slaanesh, turns out there’s like a single frame of the first appearance of Cegorach.
Turns out Mr. Clown does not in fact look like a clown
Considering every book and every Edition Trailer ive seen so far had the monologue i think its guruanteed to be in the show
He kinda looks like agent 47.
One thing the trailer does very well imo is sell the inherent horror of the setting. It feels a lot more like a place where you'd feel extremely uncomfortable and afraid in a real way than just very big things everywhere.
I honestly thought we'd see big E in his realm of sorts as well, much like the chaos gods.
Godblight ||It was heavily implied by the dark imperium trilogy that he's basically becoming a god in reality, likely not to a great end though.||
Same ||My (as someone who's really not into the lore) crack theory is that the Alpha Legion are followers of the Chaos God Emperor, which is why they're kinda both loyalist and Chaos aligned||
||The Who??||
Malal is just a mostly retconned sorta fifth chaos god who's thing was that he was just pure chaos iirc and hence didn't really jive with the other chaos gods at all, even less than they jive with each other.
He's really old and very much not canon, and the last time he was mentioned was kinda a cheeky reference than anything real iirc.
Dark imperium trilogy spoilers ||In that trilogy, it's essentially a major theme that the emperor has at least obtained a form of godhood of some kind, but it not necessarily be chaos godhood I guess. Just another type of warp divinity.||
Even bigger trilogy spoilers ||It makes him capable of a decent amount of miracles, most impressive of which is possessing Gorrilaman and saving him from an extremely potent nurglite plague, and then seemingly making nurgle kinda worried and burning nurgle's garden till the edge of his manse after suggesting mortarion could be redeemed.||
So it definitely feels like they were pivoting to a direction where (more spoils, even greater ers, including some for end and the death) ||the star child concept returns, we may have two or even three separate somewhat interconnected emperors in existence, as the constant worship has given the emperor immeasurable strength which may not be the same as the dude on the throne, just very deeply intersecting with him while having a more coordinated, cohesive will of its own, embodying what mankind thinks of the emperor. It's worth noting that since the humans and other non tau species living with the tau managed to will the greater good into existence apparently, it's almost a guarantee that the warp has been fuelling the emperor in some way. It just remains to be seen how exactly it's working. Which is really funny because I think it's been recently implied that this is explicitly the one thing Big E really didn't want happening.||
But it has been years since pretty much all this happened so who knows how much of it will be realised.

SO GLAD THIS IS CLARIFIED
hasnt it always been in inches?
That isn't the point, there has previously been issues with "you cant measure at any time"
And officially saying "you can measure anything at anytime" is good
Why?
idk at least when I played over a decade ago it was kinda contentious and a bit of a game flow killer with some people obsessively measuring and trying to game the distances to their advantage
Because some ppl read the rules and said "this says you cant measure anything at any time"
Obsessively measuring is just part of the game sometimes tho
never encountered that, i can always measure sightlines/charge distance and other stuff
Hey, ask Brandon
Unfortunately
I will be painting a Space Marine
Turns out my friend's birthday was a couple months ago so I got him this Lieutenant for his Black Templars. As it will be a while until we can meet up, and he doesn't like painting anyway, I'm going to paint it for him
Got him mostly done
Still a couple more colors to go, mainly red, then I'll shade him alongside my Wraithlord since they're the same colors
Nice gold, how'd you make it?
I use Retributor Armor, and it turned out pretty shiny since I used it over white primer instead of the black I usually use
aaah okay, i was wondering if you used a drybush or smth because my Retributor is usually darker, but its just white primer
Yeah I only have the one gold for all my models so it's just a difference in primer and that I haven't shaded it yet

One of the best and most Orky things you will ever hear. WAAAGH!!
tried out some new gold painting variants, which one do you guys think looks best?
First or fourth
The thirdd looks more silver than gold, and the second is less vivid than the others
good taste
Third is what i usually did but with a heavier drybrush of silver
i think ill use the fourth one for Angron once i get him since its more brass than gold colored
I'd say 1 or 2
4 is a good brass or bronze because despite the name that is the actual color range of Balthasar Gold
yeah, i think ill go with the first one for my Venatari and Dread

So many good emperor memes
He also moved aparently in that vid and theres been so much talk about him and his revival
How it started vs how it's going
When the greatest thing that's happened to humanity in ten thousand years is their god blinking, they might be screwed
It wouldnt even be a good thing if the Emperor got up tbh
