From what I can tell, proper use of dithering in BW's art style, is used almost exclusively for fur or feathers, and is used sparingly at the edges of shadows I assume in order to emulate how light reflects unevenly across an uneven surface.

what i do is i make a concept sketch and then size it down to 96x96 so i can kind of just trace it and clean it up a bit

honestly you can shade ice the same as you shade a blue gem and it'll be fine as long as it's in the right context

i think the light colors confuse me, it's working with very light colors versus dark colors
