Honestly I think it's my most disliked pokemon game on the switch and Let's Go Eevee/Pikachu exists

But I have a soft spot for it lol. I like the gym leader designs but there are a lot of things about it that just didn't work. Hop was okay for a rival but I wish Marnie and Bede weren't also your rivals. There are five games where you get multiple rivals, and the two that have the worst multiple rivals are X/Y and Sw/Sh

The rivals in S/V are fantastic. Least Arven and Nemona are anyway (I like Penny but she's just kinda there with no real interaction with the squad, discluding you)

The rivals in Black/White/Black2/White2 aren't the best but I like their personalities. When I look at them I think. "At least it's not the X/Y rivals" XD

The story's good the layout and characters are underwhelming. Especially Bede and Marnie

Marnie just. Kinda exists like Penny but has less involvement in the plot
Bede. Just. Bede just felt like Gamefreak hearing people complain about friendly rivals so they shoved Bede into the mix. He feels more like an obligation character.

Team Yell is arguably the WORST team, which is impressive because Team Flare EXISTS. Sorry Piers I love you and your fantastic rbf lol but the team is just. The opposite of good.

my thing is that i dont really see the story of pokemon games, the pace is perfect to me since you just go up on the map, i dont really like going down and up all the time to continue the storyline, the gym battles are actually exciting, the dialogue going while you fight, the people in the background recording and screaming, the gigantamax feature that gives extra depth in the game. The gym battles are perfect to me, the final boss is one of the best to me, rose had the "to reach the results by any means necessary" even using eternatus for infinite energy. I find team Yell really annoying and just an excuse to be there. The dlcs are awesome especially the dinamax adventures to shiny hunt legendaries, even tho both dlcs is just buying the game again.
Overall i think this game is on top of my list (cant say the same about scarlet and violet because i really didnt like the tera type transformation and found it lazy, the game was super easy, and the huge amount of visual bug and bad optimization, altough i dont know about the switch situation because i only play on the emulator)
