Best thing to do is:

1. redownload from the steam deck guide
2. Extract it
3. Wherever your current game folder is, delete it.
4. Move the new files from step 2 in the same location as where your old folder was. Just make sure it is the same name as what your old was.

Basically just swapping it out and you are good.

Going to sound weird, but turn off WiFi/internet on your device and try again. For some reason, even though your internet might be working just fine, something about this game clogs it up. Once you are in game, if issue persists, turn off Download Data as well.

Hey just wanted to know if these two bugs have already been reported, they're pretty easy fixes though:

1. The first Pokemon Center, Nurse Joy's dialogue is black, but every Pokemon Center after that one the dialogue is red

2. If you lose a gym battle and go back to the Pokemon center, only the Pokemon in the battle are healed, and not the entire party (which is weird because why would you black out after losing then only have two of your deceased Pokemon healed in a hospital LOL)

The game comes preloaded up until the last two packs. Those packs will be automatically downloaded as you play as long as you have download data turned on in the settings. It’ll just take time for them all to show up so you’ll need to be patient

I did update, but I was already on the newest version. It was Lurantis/Lycanroc (MIdday)'s only custom sprite.

Updating caused the sprite to disappear. The February pack (the pack that sprite was in) and March pack are not included in the game files so when you updated, you reverted all the sprites the game had automatically downloaded. You’ll need to wait for the game to re-download the sprite.

You should only update if there’s a new version out. (#downloads will always show the current version number which you can check on your title screen)

alright this is a probably a common question, but i havent played the game in like 2 years and im new to the updated system but how do i import custom sprites

i know its probably asked a lot but its been a while since i played the game and its a whole new system to me

For starters, if you haven't played in a long time you will want a full reinstall (the save should be fine on PC as they are in a different folder).
The sprites are downloaded with the game now, up to whatever was released when the update came out.
Currently that means the last 2 monthly sprite packs are not included but they will be downloaded automatically from the game itself as you play unless you want to manually download and install them.

To successfully import your own custom sprite, please follow these steps:

Sprite Requirements:

1. Format: The sprite must be in .png format.
2. Naming Convention: Name your sprite according to the game's dex numbering. For example, a fusion of Aegislash and Goodra should be named 329.446.png.

Importing Your Sprite:

1. Ensure your sprite meets the criteria above.
2. Open your game folder and navigate to Graphics/CustomBattlers/Sprites to import.
3. Paste your sprite into this folder.

In-Game Instructions:

1. Launch the game.
2. The game will automatically detect the new sprites.
3. If you have an existing sprite that you're replacing, select the option "Replace All the old sprites with the new ones" when prompted.

Once completed, you can view your custom sprite in-game from the Pokedex's Sprite tab.

This is a visual glitch, if you fled from the battle he moved somewhere else but the sprite still shows on your screen until you get the place where it is located now within rendering distance.
It does look super weird the first time you see it, that's for sure.

Hey so I’ve been having issues with blank sprites lately. I’ve tried everything I could think of. Restarting the downloading and making sure my WiFi‘s impeccable. Adding the whole sprite pack back. But as an example all triple fusions show blank sprites with unknown artists in all slots. After hatching they all had base sprites but those also don’t show up in the selection screen. i see that some pokemon are invisibile, this is because i disabled the data download. but shouldnt i have all the sprites since i downloaded the sprite pack in the discord?

some mons are invisible either due to a bug with the sprite sheets [credits issue if memory serves] or due to the fusion including a new mon [ex: most fusions involving luvdisc are broken]

Going to sound weird, but turn off WiFi/internet on your device and try again. For some reason, even though your internet might be working just fine, something about this game clogs it up. Once you are in game, if issue persists, turn off Download Data as well.

Sorry I wrote that wrong. The game constantly gains and loses the WiFi connection due to sleep mode for example. I’m not sure if the game has issues with the downloading process due to that.

The download is named "InfiniteFusion.zip" so that you can just extract it all automatically into a folder called "InfiniteFusion" by following the guide, the steps that come after that only work if that folder is properly named.

I don't even know how you ended up with the files in a folder named with random letters and numbers as the name, so you probably didn't follow the guide completely.

I've been playing this game for a few days and I think I already saw that custom sprite 427.52 once

the last 2 spritepacks are not in the game files and are fetched by autodownload while you play.

there is a limit on how many sprites per time unit it can grab. it does so semi-randomly. Once it hits the cap, it pauses.
Lets say it is 100 sprites per hour. for 6000 sprites total.

everytime you update or reinstall all that progress is lost and has to be restarted.

No. All sprites can be downloaded as released, but they do get autoloaded into the game. If you import 7your own sprites, those are manual. For example I have a sprite of my OC Drip I manually import the game because I don't want it in the public sprites folder due to the whole OC thing

You can also import the pokemon from the pack and there won't be much difference aside from could end up with a dupe

I have two problems/questions:

1. There is a lot of screen tearing when moving through the world. Does this game have v-sync?
2. The battle animations are extremely choppy looking in 1x speed and only look decent when the game is sped up. Is this an issue with my session, or is the game just like that?

If that is the case, don't, it doesn't work well as you have noticed.

Using the in-game option for Full Screen can strain your graphics card and lead to Graphics issues, flashing, green lines, and more.

We recommend setting the Screen Size option to a lower setting and dragging the corners of the window to make the screen larger instead for computers having issues.

not really sure how to screen record, but saying they appear to be running at 10-20fps is a pretty accurate description. Not when throwing out pokemon, or things like that, just when using moves and increasing/decreasing stats

Quite a lot more than 4 frames, but if it looks like this in your game as well then it is normal.
Early games in the franchise didn't have very detailed animations, and without the pokemons themselves being animated (would be a nightmare for spriters) it can look a bit lackluster if you are not used to it.

Maybe the video doesn't accurately capture what you're actually seeing your game, but scrubbing through the vid, I can distinctly count 6 frames until it's off screen right. Also GBA pokemon games are my favorite/most played, so I'm very familiar with what they look like. The anims in this games are noticably and significantly slower than, for example, Ruby version's

In the video, it takes nearly a second between when it starts moving and when it exits the screen in the other corner, even if we assume 30 FPS that would be quite a bit more than 4 frames (would have been 0.14 seconds or so).
The video was not meant to capture every single frame but to show how long it takes in real time, sorry for the confusion.

Oh yes, the amount of time the anim takes is fine, but the number of distinct sprite movements within that timeframe is unusually low. If I play games like Radical Red or Inclement Emerald, the anims appear normal, but in PIF, they're so choppy that if I'm not playing in 2x speed, I get a headache within minutes. Didn't know if it was a game issue, or a my-end-performance issue, since this is the only pokemon game I play that's like that

Hey @rigid glen! To unlock randomized mode: Create a new game, save in Pallet Town, and create a 2nd new game. More options will appear since the 1st save is locked to Classic Mode.

Our randomizer doesn't offer true randomization meaning each Pokemon or item you find is **not ** going to be random each time. Instead we offer the below for Pokemon:
Global:

• Makes it so that if Pidgey was randomized to Pikachu on route 1, all Pidgeys on all routes are Pikachu.

Area:

• Better randomization than Global. Makes it so that each route has their own randomized set of encounters.
