Fair enough. I am going to add true randomization in my game, and update the pokedex to show the lineage of fused pokemon.

Ive noticed the same spots of grass always have the same randomized pokemon, and that low key bugs me idk why.

Its super impressive one person has built this whole thing lol.

I think the reason for that is because even though you select randomizer, ALOT of players are expecting to find Pokemon they need to complete quests even though you selected randomizer 😅 so it is more to ensure you eventually run into that Pokemon vs it just being completely rng but yeah full randomizer would be nicer

But yeah same with item randomization. It isn’t dynamic and currently mapped so if a potion is turned into a great ball, all potions in the game are now great balls.

You could make it a % chance for pure randomization and a % chance to randomize with a typical pokemon in that route. On insane mode you could have it %10 chance to include a pokemon from whatever route you're on. Then defuse it if necessary for a quest.

You could also utilize an O(1) look up table to generate the randomized pokemon before the battle begins. Rather than randomizing them at the start of the game and making them hardcoded.

Items is a little trickier.

Have quest item givers give you the quest item + random item I guess?

Yeah the randomizer also changes the dex number of the Pokémon as well though not just randomized the Pokemon you see on the screen so a bunch of things to account for but yeah there a lot of techniques to change it

Like if the quest is to turn in Abra for the Pokeradar, on randomizer you still get the Pokeradar

How to Reset your Sprite Pull:

1. Open your menu in game and select Options.
2. Go to the option named Download Spritesand turn it OFF.
3. Leave the menu by pressing Enter on Confirm at the bottom or pressing B (if you don't, this won't work).
4. Open options again and turn Download Sprites back ON.
5. Save your game and close it.
6. Reopen the game and your sprites should appear.

Hi guys, i've played this game alot on pc and completed multiple playthroughs of both normal and randomized. I'm currently setting up the game on steam deck and it is working well

however, even after talking to the update man and enabling it, I do not see an option to start on expert mode

this is a fresh install of the game and such my only save is at the first pokemon center

is there another reason why expert mode still does not appear?

you decided to preload it on mobile for some reason, we do not recommend this at all.
it is not "searching online", you dumped a shitload of sprites into the game. which is now needs to load and sort through.

preloading is only for when you have issues with the normal game
you're gonna need to let it sort, press C a couple of times, then if it wants to replace any sprites - select to replace them

Preloaded is only for computers that perform poorly or if you want to play 100% offline. Otherwise, open Game.exe and the game will open without crashing.
Preloaded doesn't work out of the box. You need to set it up using either of the two guides below:

Game Backup

Use this link the installers go down (GitHub issues), don't know if your files are authentic, or have weird issues like missing background textures. These files 100% work.

Steps:

1. Delete your current game folder you have (this won't delete the save).
2. Download the game from: HERE.
3. Extract it into a new folder but make sure to leave it in your Downloads folder to avoid other issues (OneDrive).
4. Open Game.exe from it (not game-preloaded).

This will make sure you have fresh game data and also the correct files. If you are still having issues, this means your issue is 100% an issue with your computer.

Magic Boots are an IN GAME reward for catching the base 470 Pokemon in a non-randomized file (Dex number 1-470). After doing so, the Developer in Celadon will reward you with them. Putting them on will unlock DEBUG options that you can play with.

Old data in your Game folder is crashing or causing issues with your game. To fix:

Lightweight Installer:

1. Open your Game Folder
2. Delete your Data folder (This will not delete your saved data)
3. Double click INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat

App Installer:

1. Open the App -> Click Settings -> Click Open Game Folder
2. Delete your Data folder (This will not delete your saved data)
3. Go back to the App -> Installation Menu -> Update Game

Afterwards, reopen the game.

Looks like hidden abilities are just completely bugged, reversing a fusion with a hidden ability also changes its ability and if the body gave the hidden ability it just goes to a regular ability when unfusing

The key was that the retroid and/ or my PC would fall asleep mid file transfer or something would stop it from happening. I set everything to stay awake no matter what and after like 12-14 hours of file transferring it worked!

Yeah unfortunately what we noticed is steam decks are all not built the same and some have weird bugs others don't.

What has "solved" this for some people is actually re-extracting the files again and setting it up again on your steam library again.

I am not sure why extraction has an issue, but it seems like a bug with non-steam game specifically

I recommend turning off auto save if your save was corrupted. If at any point auto save triggers and you close the game at the same time, it corrupts it

1. Open your menu in game and select Options.

5. Save your game and close it.

you never need to manually update sprites anyways. The game installs and updates them as you play and encounter pokemon. Those options are there for those that want to just do it all at once to get it out of the way

That is only an option in the randomizer settings. On normal runs, it isn’t

Be aware, remapping controllers does not work outside of Xbox Controllers. You need to use a 3rd party app like Steam or JoyToKey to remap your controller to keyboard presses.

@barren robin I don’t help via dms, but your setup isn’t correct from the beginning. Kinda made it harder for yourself using the files you used but to fix your issue use the info below

Old data in your Game folder is crashing or causing issues with your game. To fix:

Lightweight Installer:

1. Open your Game Folder
2. Delete your Data folder (This will not delete your saved data)
3. Double click INSTALL_OR_UPDATE.bat

App Installer:

1. Open the App -> Click Settings -> Click Open Game Folder
2. Delete your Data folder (This will not delete your saved data)
3. Go back to the App -> Installation Menu -> Update Game

Afterwards, reopen the game.

and even when it does; its slow as hell. so it may still have been searching.

Any new game update, you need to rerandomize the settings you have enabled.

If you have only pokemon randomized, you need to Reshuffle Wild Pokemon

This is done in the Pokemon Center -> Update Man (guy in black suit) -> Click Advanced Settings -> You will see the Reshuffle options

This will fix the issue going forward, but sprites already messed up you might have to fix yourself from the Pokedex.

1. Ensure your sprite meets the criteria above.

2. The game will automatically detect the new sprites.
3. If you have an existing sprite that you're replacing, select the option "Replace All the old sprites with the new ones" when prompted.

Steps:

1. Delete your current game folder you have (this won't delete the save).
2. Download the game from: HERE.
3. Extract it into a new folder but make sure to leave it in your Downloads folder to avoid other issues (OneDrive).
4. Open Game.exe from it (not game-preloaded).

I suggest not keeping the save, but that is up to you
