Ok great and also if it does look like Edos then it ran fine. This would mean you are opening the game from the wrong folder. Where ever install_or_update.bat is, that is where the updates game files are. It doesn’t update other folders only the one it is inside of

You’d have to move them over and not have the launcher point to it. The launcher right now deletes the whole folder, including your sprites, to install the game.

Hey @agile igloo! Are you having trouble downloading the game? You can find the download of the game in #downloads! To run it, simple unzip all of the files into a folder, then click the .bat file. Be mindful that the game takes a few minutes to load, don't touch the black window before it does!

Yeah if you use the launcher, the reason the sprites are ? Marks is because the launcher deletes all sprites when installing. That is a bug. So you need to reset sprite pull to start populating them back

The game populates sprites when you encounter them. So you have to keep playing the game so it downloads them when you see a Pokemon. You could try resetting your sprite pull also just in case but you still need to encounter Pokemon:

1. Turn off Download Sprites option in setting inside the game.

3. Go back to Settings.
4. Turn option back on.

The screen to create new character is a little funky to be honest. You have to keep moving the up-and-down arrows and pressing enter to get in the field. Then when you are finally done, you have to press enter on the submit button like 20 times.

If you're getting the "missing Game.ini" error, your game is not finding its necessary folders for some reason. Here's a list of things that may fix the issue:

2. Make sure the game.exe file is in the folder with everything else. You might've moved it while trying to make a shortcut or something.

When you download and install the game for 6.0 they are separate folders. So you can always load up either versions whenever you want

but you would have to move your save file out of its current folder for 4.x and 6.x

I've been having 3 main issues while playing which is:

1. A 10-20 second loading black screen on from every entry or exit of any areas or after battles.
2. Loading on fusing/unfusing/shifting or jumping to another box
3. Safari zone errors and crashes the game with a short screen(I do not know what the stuff means due to it closing fast)

In general, the performance of Game depends on your pc and internet. Most Laptops and some PCs struggle. if slow, only way around it is using "game-preloaded" but this requires you to download all the sprites yourself from this channel.

But game-preloaded is the optimized version of the game, so if you have performance issues this is your best bet although your computer needs to be able to handle this. This requires you to install all the sprites manually and it is a large 1.2gb file with 300k sprites. So if you want to do that, follow instructions here -> #tech-support message

You could try resetting your sprite pull:

Turn off Download Sprites option in setting inside the game.
Leave the menu by pressing Enter on Confirm or pressing B (if you don't, this won't work).

not sure if you saw but in the FAQ in the pinned comments there are 2 fixes for android. Map not working and game errors because you need a specific version of joiplay and RPGM plugin

Game and Game-default are the same thing and they download sprites over the internet. Game-preloaded is the optimized version that gets the sprites from your local computer but requires you to download all sprites in the game (1.2 gb file with 300k sprites)

Hey @mossy zealot! Are you having trouble starting the game? If you are launching v5, and your screen is stuck on black at startup, don't worry, it's normal. Leave the game running for a few minutes and it will work eventually.

Do not click on the window during this, otherwise you'll get the error below and the game will close.

The Sprite Pack I provided in this channel gives you all the base files, fixes, and custom sprites for the preloaded game to work and be optimized. When a new sprite pack coming in a couple weeks comes out, IF you want them, you would add them to your game.

Interesting, also I do have one question. This isn't the first time I'm doing this. I went through this whole process last night and it got done and asked me to press any key to continue. I did and it close the CMD and then there just wasn't any thing else. Am I missing something or doing something wrong. I'm following the install directions and I don't think I've missed any steps

So that usually means there is an error on that black prompt somewhere. if your folder is still just the .bat file and folder there was an error

unfortunately the prompt always says "thank you for installing" even if it failed

you know it completed if it says this:

Hey @ember smelt! Are you having trouble downloading the game? You can find the download of the game in #downloads! To run it, simple unzip all of the files into a folder, then click the .bat file. Be mindful that the game takes a few minutes to load, don't touch the black window before it does!
