I'd say it depends, especially on types you encounter. nearly every area has a pokemon with a flying type move in grass, heck even zubat, and moves like bite make dark type weakness also really fatal, as it can be found on so many mons. I'd wager a mixture of bad offensive skills and weakness to those types is what rules most mons out for my run

You actually can keep it the same and evolve it. Find the sprite in #sprite-gallery and save it as the evolved sprite. For example:

If the sprite is 355.67 (breloom/machoke), save it as the dex number of the evolution, 355.68 (breloom/machamp)
