Perhaps you should fix it so that if you set your movement controls to WASD, that you can still use those letters when nicknaming pokemon. As is it just moves the text line. As my laptop has small buttons for up, down, left, and right, that would be really helpful.

There's over 150000 Pokémon, no ROM could store that much data. GBA is absolutely out of the question and DS hacking isn't advanced enough yet to add Pokémon, and even then I doubt it'd handle that many. 😦
I'm looking at the total size of everything in 4.8.2 full, and it only translates to about 1.5GB. While yes for a standard GBA style emulator it's way too much, I have a belief that ds and up emulators wouldn't have TOO much of a problem. Of course, with any emulator, performance depends almost entirely on what specific hardwares you have. Perhaps this is something to look into. If you're worried about space, one option to trim would be pokedex entries,

Which is why it's placed in suggestions. It would be cool to see the end result, especially with more modern functions being the standard. Now it also matters when choosing a newer game to do so, which is another factor. The more recent tha games, the higher the quality of the sprites.
Well, the reason would be to get away from RPG Maker's limitations and be able to add every Pokemon, and possibly also upgrade to a newer gen mechanics. But I agree, ROMs are not the solution for that.

Emulators really are dependent on hardware and settings knowledge...playing with them is an absolute must and the settings will vary from person to person, so...that's another con to it.

Frogman is already considering removing all double battles because of how much they lag the game, so I doubt that will be considered
Fix the rock smash crash before anything else, that's the most annoying one

if you mean the moves that a fusion learns, it's just the bw2 movesets of the component pokemon (excluding gen 5+ pokemon, idk what movesets they use)
It’s BW, not B2W2; I’ve checked what levels I’ve learned certain moves and it was accurate to the first games, not the sequels

A suggestion. have newer sprites replace older ones for the base custombattlers folder , i think that would be a great thing to do as older .. "bad (subjective usually. sometimes objectively)" sprites do get remade quite often

I agree, I also think in some cases it's nice to have coherent lines. Like I think my Pidgey / Psyduck lines are all the default ones except one of the forms (probably Pidgeot / Golduck), so it'd be nice to have that cohesion there. 🙂
Similarly, if my Shroomish / Ralts was the first one submitted I like Isaac's way more and it fits more with the evolution line. 😄

In some cases it's pretty obvious, other ones with loads of variants (especially things like base form Kanto starter / Pikachu) would be trickier. 😦

I think all sprites should be updated or none if there is a new version of a sprite aviable. It might help to inform the player that Spritepacks with alternate versions for fusion exists, so everybody knows that they can exchange sprites, if they dont like them.

you could maybe do a channel that has a daily vote on which of the sprites to keep for dupes, I guess, and put the one with the most votes in as the default

What does that have to do with everstones or pressing cancel? You don’t need to know what level a Pokémon evolves at to do these things
Because you need to know when to remove the Everstone or when to stop cancelling to evolve at the "correct" level. But even then, you could still be forced to trigger an early evolution of the other half of the fusion
The only downside to evolving early is lower leveling rate and missing out on some moves, which is true when you evolve at the normal level and lose out on moves if you evolve later too
This isn't about downsides or upsides. This is about staying closer to the original game experience. There's many ROM hacks I decided not to play specifically because they added a Dark type to Luxray or they changed the base stats of some Pokemon. Here, we play this game because we like the idea of playing with fusions, but we don't necessarily want other changes to come along with it.

it does not boost by 50% normally in IF, it boosts by 25% cuz alot of fusions that can use Eviolite are quite powerful

Stat boost used to be a thing a long time ago, when calculating a fusion's stats there was a 25% bonus to each half's highest stat (in case of mons that had multiple equal highest stats Mew for example the stat boost applied to all of them)
This boost applied to Self fusions too

What you could do is "expand" the strong and weak stats, AKA you calculate the difference between the stat and the average, and multiply that difference by a certain percentage, then rounded up. For exemple, a Blissey with stat-expension of 10% would end up with
HP: 271 (255 + 1650.1)
Attack: 2 (10 - 800.1)
Defense: 2 (10 - 800.1)
Sp.Atk: 74 (75 - 150.1)
Sp.Def: 140 (135 + 450.1)
Speed: 52 (55 - 350.1)
You could also add a global increase according to the total changed. In Blissey's case, the total changed is 16+8+8+1+5+3 =41, but Mew would just get back the same stats. For example, you calculate the changes in comparison to the average (41/90 = 45.6%), and from 5%, decrease by 1% for every 10% achieved, rounded to the nearest 10%. 45.6% would thus be rounded to 50% and completely lose the bonus, but Mew wouldn't get any penalty and get the full 5% global increase.

simpler way to do that would be to give a self-fusion its own stats but x levels higher
so a Pokemon of level 5 would have the stats of that same mon with the same nature and IVs and EVs but x levels higher

Update pokemon movesets to gen 7 please. If it's too tedious, get others to help. Adding in moves is not necessary, but would be appreciated.
Why?
Generally pokemon have bigger movepools in gen 7, even w/o new moves. In addition, it would make it much easier to know what moves each pokemon has and how to get them. For instance, my ralts learned disarming voice but not magical leaf before it evolved. It is the gen 5 moveset or the gen 6/7 one? It's neither. So now I don't know what moves it will learn and when.
Well, if we update to gen 7 learnsets, but do not add gen 6-7 moves, we risk having Pokemon with large gaps in their levelup learnsets.
For that reason, I don't really agree with having gen 7 learnsets if we're missing gen 6-7 moves. But if they're coded, I'd love to have gen 7 learnsets, since it feels a lot more complete for certain Pokemon like Dodrio
But it also changes a lot of moves, like leech life becoming a good move

In general, the maps look pretty good IMO, but there are some places where you can see the map cut off in the distance. These definitely should be filled with trees or mountains or something. That said, it's best to report these in overworld-bug-reports individually for each case

If possible, make it so in randomized mode the game only requires you to have caught the randomized version of the legendary to access other areas, because otherwise some areas may be forever inaccessible
Make the devolution spray work again. It's worse than one of those berries that does nothing if you get it in a randomizer. Devolution spray has some use if you catch an Arcanine or something and are too lazy to breed it and fuse it to get the good level-up moves from Growlithe.

Something I'd like to see (although it's unlikely) is more non-Kanto Pokémon being available earlier in default playthroughs. I think that would spice things up, vanilla Kanto is hideously boring. 😢

If you make fusion voices, playing both sounds together would just sound like chaotic noise, yeah. The best you could do is probably have the head's cry, but increase or lower the pitch, as well and make it last for less or more time, to match the body's cry. So a jynx body would last a long time and have a high pitch. I assume that would be complicated to do, though.

Additionally originally Ice resisted Water for this game, but then it was changed.
Plus most Ice Types are slow, so you wind up with Pokémon that are weak to 7 Types, meaning fusing with any slow Ice Types are meaningless (that or fuse to get rid of the Ice typing)

Yeah. Many people are only here for the fusion, so if you change other gameplay elements, they won't like it. Especially type matchups, that will frustrate a huge lot of people. Not just those that want to stay close to the original game, other players might get confused on why their moves are resisted on opposing Pokemons

i dont want to advocate any changes here, but from a balancement perspective, i do see the argument to adjust certain accept of the game, because a different pool of pkmn are available

I'm not sure why balancing types would be of any importance for this game. It's just a single player game, and you should be fine in it with whatever types you use. Also, the IF Showdown server exists and ice types were perfectly fine in there

But it's not up to Frogman to create that balance. He's balanced the aspects of the game that are within his control, but changing what a type from the core series does isn't something he should do.
Well, balance is still important in a single player game... But a good part of this game is actually about breaking the balance by creating OP fusions. Some Pokemons are designed to be powerful but with huge weaknesses like Slaking, and we're actually throwing away these weaknesses with fusions
i dont care wheither it would be changed or not, im just standing my ground that balance is important in either case, especially given mechanics of the game, the base on which it builds on should be balanced

Ice isnt really a bad type, it's one of the best offensive ones with being super Effective on prominent types. Its using it as a defensive type where it falls. Think of it the same way you wouldn't run an Offensive steel type in Gen 2
honestly that's more a "there were maybe two steel attaacks in gen 2 and one was iron tail" issue than anything, but i see your point
i just wish there are more ice types in the game.
New Pokémon isn't going to happen (it's already been upped by like 70 this year), I hope new moves from Gens VI, VII and VIII can be added at some point though. 😄

Well, technically, that could be a nice idea to offer a different pool of Pokemon, and all the gameplay would already be coded, so it wouldn't require as much work (mostly just maps and npcs). That said, it would also mean that all gameplay updates would require to be done on both Kanto and Hoenn versions, increasing the workload. So that's a better idea for when the current Pokemon IF has reached a "final version".
It'd also mean a whole new Pokédex of fusions to make to include the Sinnoh Pokédex (which includes things not in IF like Glameow, Wurmple and Uxid). Far, far too much work. 😢
OK, so instead of a new game, how about a new option where the items get shuffled instead of randomised, so you can't just find berries all over.

I think it would be cool if TM randomization had an option to do 1:1 mapping, where the TMs that are randomized get put into a list and randomly redistributed. The current way it's done is randomized in the moment which means you can get duplicates or TMs that aren't normally randomized, and that can be disappointing.
I'm not sure how people would feel about this idea, but would it be possible to have self-fusions work differently to the standard fusion formula, having unique changes depending on the species? I think that the concept is really cool, but currently the only benefit to doing it is getting a new sprite. Looking back through the channel, I've seen the idea brought up a few times before, but I've also tried to go in-depth with some ideas for how it could possibly work - I think these would make sense as ways of providing alternate slightly stronger variations of Pokémon without making any changes to the non-fused versions.
- All self-fused Pokémon could gain a +50 boost to their base stats. I think this is substantial enough to make the fusion worthwhile without being unbalanced, as having it be a +100 like a Mega would be likely too OP when you can have multiple per team.
- Further inspirations for changes could be taken from various sources, and could alter a Pokémon's Type, moveset, or abilities depending on the species. These could include the following:
- Mega Evolutions: e.g. Charmander's line becomes Fire/Dragon and gains the Abilities Tough Claws (Default)/Drought (Hidden) based on both forms of Mega Charizard.
- Regional Forms: e.g. Exeggutor becomes Grass/Dragon, gains the Ability Frisk, and a new moveset which takes elements from both Kantonian and Alolan Exeggutor.
- Other fan hacks: Drayano's hacks are a solid baseline for this e.g. Farfetch'd becomes Fighting/Flying, gains a greater focus on Attack, and learns a range of sword-based moves.
- The sprite: If there's already a sprite designed, it can be a good source of inspiration for what to add too. For example, Sandslash's current self-fusion sprite by Blaxaroz looks much more agile, so it could maybe have a greater focus on Speed and gain access to moves like Quick Attack. Of course, it could work the other way around too, and designs could always be created around planned changes to each Pokémon.

To add to that. Bring the self-fusion boost back would motivate more people to use self-fusions, and would also motivate people to make custom art for them. A sprite-chart could be made for them as well.
I also think that we as a community could come together and come up with all possible extra changes for the self fusion, to take that workload of the shoulders of frogman. (A small group could decide the self fusions that would gain a new ability or typing, and how the stat boosts would be, and the devs could show these to the other members of the discord to see what they think?)

Two: the abilities are made that way already for balancing and simplicity
I personally see choosing ability from parent being way more simplistic than choosing from abilities your pokemon didn't have. And balance is already thrown out of the window because of the game core idea. It's less a matter of balance but 1/2 chance if something work or not currently since it's automatic done

You outright can't modify an individual member of a species (like say a custom sprite for my Arbok named Phillip compared to every other Arbok using the default one). Custom sprites can easily be done though by using the doubles in the sprite packs and changing their file name to the same number as the sprite you want to replace (1.4 for Bulbasaur / Charmander). Pick the sprite you'd rather use then drag it in and agree to overwrite the existing one. 🙂

Because Essentials maps sprites based on species, not individual members of said species. It'd have to belinked to the PID or something like that which is untenable and too specific. Colin the Caterpie is still a Caterpie and as such will use the sprite all other Caterpie use. Shinies are different because that's a toggle, but delving any more specific than that would require unique code for something maybe two people might use. 😢

Suggestion: Enable quick healing in Pokemon centers! I don't remember which game did it, I believe it may have been Insurgence, but basically whenever you visit a Pokemon center and talk to the nurse, she'll just immediately say she healed your Pokemon without having to mash Enter/Space 20 times to get it done and risk initiating the conversation again. Just a small quality of life change, considering this game's quite a bit harder than most, and a lotta visits to Pokemon centers are made ❤️
Difficulty configuration would be really cool in my opinion
Something like being able to enable the better trainer ai from hard mode, but not the higher pokemon levels, or adjust by how much the enemy trainer pokemon levels increase (or even decrease) etc. so you can mix and match to make the game even more enjoyable, especially when replaying

Maybe make Rock Slide available via TM or Tutor since it's one of the very few decent Physical Rock moves and even on pokemon that do have access to both Rock Slide & Stone Edge it can be preferred in a good amount of instances. Like if you want a more reliable move because of it's accuracy combined with Stone Edge having very low PP 5(8 max), flinch strategies, with Sheer Force since Stone Edge doesn't get the boost Rock Slide statistically becomes the better move, hits both pokemon in Double Battles, etc. I used search operators to make sure it wasn't mentioned anywhere on the wiki and went through every message on here with rock slide in it to see if anyone knew where it was and nobody seemed to.

Like I mentioned I searched the wiki for any instance of Rock Slide and there wasn't any, and I went through all the messages with Rock Slide in them in this server and nobody seemed to know the location, and there's actually a message you wrote saying that it "Looks like rock slide is only available through randomized items". So like I was implying, making it normally available through those means. And isn't the double battle removal because of the crashes and being worked on.

I just went through there again to make sure and talked to every NPC again and none offered to teach it or anything, and the layout is different. You might be thinking of another game with Kanto in it or something

There are no mega pokemon in the game. but you can get a pokemon that looks like its mega form by fusing it with another one of itself. for example, Lucario/Lucario could look like Mega Lucario but still have lucario's stats.

It's effectively the same as adding an individual evolution method for each Pokémon, only instead of going up the evolution line they go down. Adding that many evolutions would be tricky, I'd imagine. 😦

I wouldn't really see dragon rage as a problem, it might be the worst fixed damage move early game (other than sonicboom, night shade, seismic toss) but there's no trainer/wild NPC that have it. Even if the level 20 restriction was implemented dragon rage would still be broken.
I can see why you want it removed (in the event the enemy has dragon rage in randomizer), however I can't understand why you won't add a fairy type member to counter it.
It's like the Shedinja talk, just equip your team with a counter and it should be easy. (for instance: weather effects, status, recoil, super effective moves, ability changing moves, mold breaker and turboblaze, and rocky helmet can take out a shedinja easily).
You might not be able to find a counter is his point, especially if it happens on Route 1. But it is a really small amount of cases where that'd happen. 😅

Bring back the double battles
Double battles have been removed for a reason, they were really lag-inducing and gave crashes often. seeing the size of the game due to all of the mons and all, removing double battles to reduce lag was a smart move
I think they could be re-added if another anti-lag method was created... And it was not that laggy
You have to remember that Frogman's making this game on his lonesome and it's already a miracle he crammed 60 extra Pokémon in, the lag can be insane so Double Battles just aren't worth the trouble. 😦 They're my favourite type of battle though.
Maybe a place to grind off blisseys or an ev training place
The game isn't that difficult as it is, no need to make it even less difficult
The level curve is definitely a problem (especially early on, so maybe a Chansey in Cerulean or Vermilion could be nice), I think having a place to grind would be nice. 🙂
Rebattling trainers is an existing feature that allows for useful grinding
I know, but it's not necessarily obvious which ones are good for XP. I always default to the trainer which uses King-themed fusions but I'm not even sure if it's any good. 😦

The names of Pokémon fusions are not generated every time you fuse, there’s just a text document with all their names in it, so the nickname thing wouldn’t work without creating a whole new algorithm

Okay, so this is definetly an idea that would take quite a bit of work, but I think it is realistic and it would be really cool to have.
My idea is to have 2 modes you can choose from at the beginning of the game: Classic and Modern.
Classic is the game exactly as it is right now and Modern is mostly the same game, but two things are changed: Encounters and Trainer Pokemon.
The idea behind Modern is to add a mode that gives access to later gen Pokemon a lot easier and where Gym Leaders and trainers have some more out there fusions.
Example:
Route 1 Classic: Pidgey, Rattata, Tangela, Hoothoot , Mime Jr.
Route 1 Modern: Fletchling, Budew, Shinx, Bidoof, Mime Jr.
For Gym Leaders I was thinking of changing up everyones type to the next most fitting one. They could technically also stay the same, but I think it would add a cool difference between the modes and would make the game more replayable
Examples:
Brock Classic (Rock): Diglett/Onix
Brock Modern (Steel): Steelix/Mime Jr. (#sprite-gallery message)
Misty: Water -> Ice
Surge: Electric -> Dark
Erika: Grass -> Fairy
...
I decided to go with this Steelix/Mime Jr. in the Brock example for 2 reasons:
- It is a bit more out there with the fusion being between one fully evolved mon and a not evolved mon with very low base stats, which is something I would like to see a lot of other trainers do early on too
- This fusion has an amazing custom sprite. I think this Modern mode would be an awesome way to highlight a lot of really well done custom sprites that usually never pop up in a normal, gen 1 focused playthrough. There are a ton of trainers in the game, but there are even more really creative, high effort fusion sprites that could make every single trainer battle something special.
So in difference to the Classic mode, where the fusions were done first and the sprites made later, the selection in Modern would focus on adding cool fusions right away.

Absolutely love that idea. One of the main reasons I've never gotten super into actually playing IF is the fact that it really just feels like just... Kanto, plus fusing. Which isn't a bad thing, but Kanto is just.. so familiar, so overplayed- yes I can fuse my rattata and pidgey now, but they're still the same old rattata and pidgey I've caught a million times. I know randomized is an option, but it doesn't capture the same feel as something with actual thought put into its design and curve.
The concept for Modern mode sounds like a very enjoyable, fresh twist that I could see myself having a blast with.

Randomizer is a fun mode in itself, if your (all) tired of randomizer then I can't see how this mode would be very different. This is more of a pokémon reshuffle, something randomizer already does.
But I'll sit back and see what becomes of this idea, since I'm curious on how unique this feature could be. And if the ol' toad is just as enthusiastic of course.
It's like an organised reshuffle that can be balanced in the way a story playthrough can be, and offers a more conventional type of gameplay that doesn't limit you to the 151 and a select few Johtonians for most of the game. 😅

my suggestion is simple but i don't know if it is complicated to make two versions of the game one with fusion only during the battle like mega evolution and the other with "permanent" fusion because many like "permanent" fusion and some like temporary fusion
That would require completely reworking the engine and I don't think I've heard of a single person say they prefer temporary fusion. It also doesn't make much sense because of how DNA Splicers work in IF, would you have to waste a turn using them and therefore make it quite pointless? 😦

This might be a bit out there, but if a lot of the problem with kanto is the familiarity, what if some things about the modern mode were tweaked to be more modern? What if gym leaders were changed to later gen ones? What if surge could be Wattson? Also it’s a similar to concept in how the original red and blue had more freedom to choose between koga and the devil Sabrina, maybe a bit of a less linear gameplay style could be introduced more? But that would affect both “versions” so probably not. Anyways point being maybe a trainer refresh — even just the regular route trainers — could be nice

Iirc the current engine is capable of changing the signs outside of gyms that show what type it is and also anyone playing modern would know so even if the gyms are/are not changed it wouldn’t be a problem right

We are using the sprites of a Website, jp... it's pinned in #fusions , so no we can't change the sprites. Except if we do the 420 custom ones
Apparently being able to choose which generation of starters is locked to a new save, could it be made possible to do it without having to make a new save? I didn't even know it was a feature until this week, that's how obscure it is. 😅

Well you don't have to complete it, you can start, move that save to another folder and then make a new save. But again that's really obscure for someone who isn't in the IF Discord and has learned the tricks that way. 😦

I don't think there are plans to add any new pokemon to this game. Besides, just fusing an eevee and a pikachu together will give you a sorta similar result to your example anyway

Has there ever been consideration towards updating things like moves to more recent iterations? For example, Fury Cutter and Bubble are still 20bp (they changed to 40 in gen 6), I assume Knock Off is probably still weak as shit, Leech Life probably is too, etc..

The movesets already seem to use gen 6 learnsets, if not gen 7. Based around the fact that my Azumarill learned Defense Curl+Rollout at lvl 10 (gen 6) rather than 7 and 15 (gen 5). Either that or BW2 learnsets. I can't tell.
Its just kinda weird that there's fairy typing and (I presume) fairy moves but the rest of the game uses outdated move stats. Should at least be somewhat consistent.

Leech Life doesn't have to be strong (though it'd be nice if it was) but at least make the rest of the game actually consistent alongside the fairy type addition, just seems really odd to me that fairies are in but everything else is gen 5 based.
Since everything is based around gen 5 except the fairies, it would technically make more sense to remove fairy type
I've always been for making movesets a bit more interesting, the Bubble and Fury Cutter changes specifically would be super easy to implement, Leech Life less so if it involves moving stuff around but could theoretically be done relatively easily. 😄

lack of grinding area is one of the biggest reasons I almost never touch the game aside from spriting for it lmao. The slow speed of the shitty rpgmaker engine combined with crap for grinding just makes any longterm progress a huge nope for me. Artificial difficulty like that is annoying.
B..but you can rebattle trainers? Who eventually level up their mons and can evolve them as well? That is quite the grinding possibility tbh
Grinding is boring though and the level curve definitely jumps a bit drastically at times. I remember Misty, Erika and Blaine (who I actually got bored of grinding for and that's why I've not played in a while) being tricky. 😦
also maybe reduce the amount of exp that gets yoinked when defusing? or add a mega splicer that only removes like 2 levels. Its just hard to experiment when the game punishes you for doing so.
There are better splicers you can get as the game progresses

QoL suggestion: Ability to adjust audio settings (not just on and off, but also the volume) in the options menu you get by right clicking the top bar
You have a master volume bar on your computer already though?
Also, pressing one of the F# keys (I forget which) brings up a menu where you can turn on and off different sounds, like the music and sound effects
Mainly thinking about the streamability of the game, adjusting the computer volume settings is tedious especially when you have many programs open at the same time. Another widget in the options menu would allow for (less tedious) adjustment while in battle
Honestly it makes sense to have one, Essentials has one by default, I know Volume Mixer exists but it's just a nice feature to have. 🙂

Screen size? There's 3 options for that in the settings, but did you want more?
Correct: I'm aware there's a small, medium, and large screen size selection but they aren't perfect (cuts off the bottom in large) and the other two are too small. I believe mkxp-z allows dragging the corners of the window for a custom size.
Outside of that supposedly there's a big performance increase. On the other hand I'm unsure if it would break anything in the process but hopefully not. Worth a look though I'd think 🙂

May i sugest adding a backup of the normal mode files on the Modern mode download so you can go back without having to download everithing for two files? It would be really convenient.

What is the viability of some sort of TM version of the Global randomizer setting for Pokemon- IE, the randomizer sets anywhere that would have X TM to have Y TM instead, so that you can guarantee that A. every TM is still out there somewhere, and B. that every TM will actually give you a TM without having to do reload dances?
I find it slightly unfair that the fusion² does not give any statistic modification (since we redo their sprites), if at least it gains 2 points of stats, or 5% of stats, right? (after I imagine that coding level is complicated to do that if the 2 pokemons have the same number = stats in + :/)

Taking a stab at this suggestion at a time when people are actually awake, how doable is setting TM randomization to replace each randomized TM with a specific other TM such that all TMs are guarranteed to come up without any need for janky savescumming?
Mimikyu is in a haunted house, but the main issue with your idea is totem Pokémon

I don't know if this is tenable, but if some evolution levels (like Magby and Elekid) have been altered because they're seen as being too late, could something similar possibly be applied to the Unova Pokémon? They notoriously evolve pretty late in some cases. Don't know if anything will come of this, just want to see what people think. 😅

@teal chasm good point about the unova Pokemon actually. Idk why game freak is so hesitant to change evolution levels tbh. They're usually balanced with the game that introduces them in mind but it doesn't make much sense to not adjust for other games that have a different level curve. Like hydreigon evolving at level 70 something made sense in black & white but not so much in Sun and Moon
My favourite example is Rufflet being found on Route 3 in Alola but then it doesn't evolve until Level 54, which I think is just narrowly below Kukui's team because he himself has a Braviary. 😂

Though this would mean limiting the held items of my Pokémon, and pressing b would mean constantly checking at which level Pokémon are supposed to evolve, which requires an internet connection.

You'd need to generate the fusions pbs file and I have not shared the source code for this. Then you'd need the actual rpg maker project which I'm not sharing either (though you could get around that part by copying all the files into a new project)

I'm not sure how doable this is, but I think I have a solution to the space limitations. The game can only support 300ish pokemon, but there are over 900 pokemon (all of which are someone's favorite). so why not make multiple versions of the game? the only difference between them would be the pokemon available. There could probably be a Pokemon folder where you could easily swap out wich pokemon are available yourself to make sure you always have all of your favorites.
Frogman would have to maintain several versions of the game at that point, and it'd up the amount of fusions we'd have to sprite from 176400 to 806404. 😅
I'm also pretty sure getting gen 8 mon generated fusions costs money

why not add the extensions like some kind of dlc (1 gen = 1 extension) its would allow to have 1 single game to managed and a quantity of data to load that varies according to the number of extension that the player chooses which allows to let people regulate the quantity of data to process by their computer and as regards the quantity of work there would be that this concentrate on 1 single gen to develop each time which organizes much more work (sorry if its not clear i translate it with google from french 😅 )
Frogman is not going to manage and update several different versions of the game just so they have different Pokémon’s them
it will not have to update them : just one fix version with 1 of the sevral gen no need to upgrade it every time because itch time he update the core game it affect and so update every extention so they will be update by the work of only updating the game
the only problem i see with this for now its that it may confilct with an update of the core game but it will mean that the update will conflict with core game data aniway

Any chance the safari zone can be fixed? It's currently an awful experince that makes me want to rip my hair out. The catch rates and flee rates are far too high. I have no problem finding most of my pokemon, but going into the safari zone FOUR times and using my balls on nothing but tauros and still being unable to catch them is infuriating.
I think the actual biggest issue with Safari Zone is that you just don't have enough steps. I have never run out of Balls, but it just doesn't feel like you have enough steps to properly explore and figure out what spawns where without throwing a lot of dosh and time just getting back to where you wanted to explore in the first place.
I don't know if you can do this in IF, but in the main series rotating your character doesn't use up steps but still leads to encounters I'm pretty sure. 🙂

I agree wholeheartedly with this. I could never beat the Safari Zone as a kid and only progressed after running out of money because a friend traded me an Psyduck with Surf.
What do you mean by beat the Safari Zone? If you mean get the required items, there’s enough steps to get there pretty easily

Idk, but the game is programmed in a way where there are 170.000 mons by default I'm pretty sure. Meaning that you can't just "seperate" the unfused 420 for the pokedex
you could remove the fused mons from the pokedex entirely. since i dont see much of a point for the fused mons to even be in the pokedex

It's definitely doable, just not very high on my priority list. I actually used to have it in the game in older versions, but it didn't display correctly because the routes metadatas weren't properly mapped to the town map so I just removed it.
I also replaced the original map with a scrolling map script since then, which I'm not sure would be compatible with it. But it's definitely not an impossible suggestion.
Hello, I'm new here and I'm not sure if I'm missing something. Is the only way you can get wild bagon, axew, deino, and larvitar from the pokeradar in the safari zone? You first have the catch all the required pokemon in that area so that you're pokeradar turns green. Then you have to wait for the 25% chance that the bush rustles vigorously and spawns a rare pokemon. If it doesnt occur, you have to use 50 steps to recharge your radar. Then when you find the rare pokemon they are difficult to catch using combinations of bait/rock. If you dont catch the rare pokemon in 500 steps or run out of balls, you have to pay another $500. The safari zone uses a lot of chance.
I want to use these pokemon, but theyre a huge pain to capture. Can they spawn somewhere else like the dragons den or another area (even with the pokeradar)?

cuz first idea that comes to mind would be go to black market and keep rerolling / save before u do it for any of 3 in fusion u cant defuse them then
or b do what u sayed and it be easyer then u expected cuz 500 cash isnt much (worse case u can save beforehand to make sure ur cash isnt wasted) add white flute for more encounters or fusion repel thing for fusion encounters quicker
or C atleast for larvitar u can get it in crimson city as trade for dratini

why do you need a badge to use teleport/fly? and why is the teleporter so late into the damn game? in radical red you get to be able to fly after rival 3
fly its obvious and teleport is at 3 gym and works before 2 gym cuz abra.. fly is alwees locked till half the gym badges it just progression sake/linear story line
and? teleport is only used as a quality of life thing and radical red you dont even need a mon to fly after rival 3

nobody likes hm slaves but this game was made before sun and moon and its kinda need to lock progression and before sun and moon it WAS STANDARD so u can lock progression aka players cant reach areas they shouldt be able to reach to cheese the game

Frogman does not plan to make any version for mobile, you’ll have to find a way to do it yourself if you want to play on your phone for some reason, which will inevitably be even laggier

Actual Suggestion: Make it easier to use the Triple Fusions by either removing the egg stage and just giving you the level 1 Trip, making the eggs not a hellaciously slow egg that eats a stack of 99 Incubators for breakfast, or just letting players buy Super Incubators.
As late as you get the option to even get them, them being locked to the egg that takes geologic time to even hatch seems like it essentially just dummies them out.
Key Item you get through a quest that acts like Sweet Scent/Honey. Would be helpful postgame, at least.
The White Flute in official games (before oras) increases encounter rate; if it isn't in the game, that would be a possible option to make a reusable honey

I know it would be hard to do, but since a lot of people don't want to spend hours choosing their favourite sprite among doubles and some don't even know that you can why don't we try and find a solution to have one big custom battlers folder with no doubles ?
it's a shame that better sprites or even remade sprites are labelled as doubles as some people will never see those fantastic sprites during their Playthrough
My suggestion : set up a voting system among doubles so that we can decide which sprites are the best or the most relevant so that those can be renamed as original sprite. The remaining sprites will go in a doubles folder
Again, it will be very tedious but in my opinion it is 100% worth it

We've already said no to this because it's demotivating to people who's sprites aren't deemed better. We're all doing this as volunteers, no need for us to be needlessly kicked in the teeth. 
i was surprised the game didn't have an iv changer, but would that be something thats planned perhaps down the line? im almost certain im not the first one asking for this. and it would be a nice QOL change, even if its just in the debug room
I doubt it, since there’s no connectivity between players at all and IVs aren’t really important when you’re playing the story of a Pokémon game
honesty how much i hate to agree with super intended knuckles here he is right there is no point ivs only matter in meta/competive cuz u can more customize ur pokemon
I would rather suggest adding Alternate splicers/different way to calculate fusions like speed. Attack. Special attack -head defence special defence and speed- body call them alternate splicers or something so some fusions are more useful, but that take like a huge amount of work like huge so that would be mean of me to ask. The reason / example, I suggest this would be looked at aegislash stance chance stats fusion anything with him correctly gives you inferior Pokemon( not right way to say it but his attack stats is higher then defene in shield form that pretty much give u less attack in sword form) 90% of the time cuz how his stance chance work so having an alternate way to fusion him and some others like him would give them way better fusions gameplay wise but that takes work and at the end of the line new calculator

Ps current fusion mechanisms are based on making Hybrid attackers it 99% end up being hybrid attacker, how splicers currently work or its alot easier to make one with them.

No it wouldn't work, you'd have to introduce Pokémon with the same names/sprites but different base stats.
