I've gotten some really skilled people to sprite my stuff in the beginning, because the art was as complicated as the Rayquaza.

I didn't really know how much detail I had to remove to make it more attractive to spriters.

A gummy snek seems really simple, just a jelly texture with green on one side and brown on the other.
