i usually take the shiny, put it next to the sprite i want to recolor, select the area with rectangle tool on pain 3d and then copy right into piskel and replace the sprite's color with the shiny colors with the color picker/dropper or directly from the palette in the bottom right which lists all the colors currently being used. Its really good for cleaning up too, like when you have multipe shades of white and black.
