Question about pokeradar…

I havent played in like a year or two. I started a new up to date game. Im on route 9, using pokeradar in the patch of grass just above the route 9 entrance where you use cut to get through. The grass will rustle and i walk over but half the time there is no encounter or i just get a rattata or something. I been trying for like an hour with and without repel and cant get fearow or primeape to show up! It feels bugged because everywhere else i try it, stepping into rustling grass is a guaranteed encounter and usually yields different (rarer) pokemon on the pokeradar listing. Am i doing something wrong? Did they change how radar works?

Hey @mortal kettle! Are you looking for Cut? The Cut HM is given to you by the captain of the S.S Anne! You can get an S.S Anne ticket from Bill at the end of Cerulean Cape, which is north of Cerulean. You'll then find the key to the Captain's cabin on the deck of the S.S Anne.

If you want to know where the replacement item is, ask "Where to find the Shears"

Hey @mortal kettle! Looking for the Pokéradar? You can obtain it from Professor Oak's Assistant on Route 24, but she only appears after you meet her in the Cerulean Pokécenter.

When you use the Pokéradar, a repel automatically activates and grass will shake. This indicates which tile the Pokémon is in. If you are having issues with the encounters fleeing or need more info, use the Wiki Page: Wiki LINK

you dont need to use pokeradar for that. you only need to use pokeradar for the pokeradar encounter that is unique on each route. prob aron if you're at route 9

The radar doesn't help you find pokemon that you can find on the route otherwise.
Also, if that is happening then you've almost certainly started a chain, which means you wouldn't have been able to encounter fearow or primeape anyway.

for both EVs and IVs it uses whichever is higher

so if you fused a charmander with an attack iv of 31 and a squirtle with an attack iv of 0, the resulting fusion would still have a 31 iv

when you unfuse them, it looks like their ivs are randomised and the body keeps the evs

"How do I check my Pokémon's EVs and IVs?"
You can check IVs by visiting the Individual Values Analyser in Saffron City.
Alternatively, you can visit the second floor of a Pokémon Center, head to the Pokéathlon Showdown station, export your team, and paste it onto their website. This will also show EVs.

"What happens to my Pokémon's EVs and IVs when I fuse them?"
Fusions will use the higher value for each EV and IV. So if the head has 31 attack IVs and the body has 0 attack IVs, the resulting fusion will have 31 regardless. Same goes for EVs.

"What happens if I unfuse them?"
When unfusing Pokémon, the game will give all EVs and IVs to the body, but the head will be re-randomised. This means it will have differing IVs from both the fusion and its pre-fusion state (assuming you arent the luckiest human on earth).

"What happens if I reverse a fusion?"
Nothing happens! Your EVs and IVs are unaffected. It usually changes your base stats, though.

"What if I kill a wild fusion? How many EVs do I gain?"
Defeating a wild fusion gives an average of both components' EVs, rounded down. Anything below 1 is invalidated. It is calculated with the following formula:
EVsGained = HeadEV + BodyEV ÷ 2

I'm running into a weird issue. Maybe it's already known, but I am asking here in case there's a workaround. I'm playing with wild encounters randomized, and I selected the fuse everything option. This seems to have removed my ability to catch a pokemon with a hidden ability.

What seems to happen is, when I catch a fusion with a hidden ability, and unfuse it, both pokemon end up with random normal abilities, as though both were the head. I've tried reversing the fusion before unfusing and this still happens, though when I reverse it, the hidden ability swaps to the HA of the other pokemon, like when doing the transfer HA trick.

Is there any way to solve this, or am I screwed on HAs this playthrough? (I'm catching with regular balls, not ability balls, just to be clear)

You should try to read NPC dialogue! They give very good hints on how to continue the game. Sometimes they also give you items! Don't forget to talk to NPC's and read what they say.

That's how it has always worked for me. If you're using two different Pokemon and each of them have two possible abilities, Pokemon a as the head and Pokemon b as the body can only pick ability a from Pokemon a and ability B from Pokemon B and vice versa. It doesn't let me choose between all four abilities

Look at the top right. I'm on version 6.7.2. Right now I'm playing on Android but I also have it on my computer and it's always worked like that. When you're fusing two Pokemon and each Pokémon is two abilities, that means you can only choose between two of the four abilities. And the game decides which ones to offer

I did that and it changed randomly. Sometimes it had that ability is an option and sometimes it didn't. It seems to be random. So when there are four different abilities to choose from, after I fuse, the game chooses 2 at random to offer me. So I have to unfuse and refuse again or reload and try again and hope that the ability that I want is an option. I don't understand why it works like that. I feel like it wouldn't be that difficult to code it in a way to where all four abilities are options on the same screen and you can just scroll left or right

To dupe Pokemon, all you need is one Nincada, one normal red Pokeball, and an empty slot in your party. Nincadas are easy to obtain in both Classic and Remix. In #ask-a-bot you can ask "How to get Nincada"

Steps:

1. Fuse the Pokemon you want to dupe with a Nincada. This will work with any Pokemon, including legendaries, mythicals, etc.
2. Level up the fusion to any evolution level. Nincada evolves at lvl. 20. Make sure you have a red Pokeball and an empty slot in your party.

• Note: Any evolution will work, meaning if the other half evolves under 20 (e.g Kakuna, the dupe will also work and you will end up with two Beedrills.)

3. The fusion will now split: you'll have a Ninjask and, in the empty space you had, you'll now have a Shedinja. Both will be fused with the Pokemon you're duping.

IVs ,EVs, and Natures will also carry onto both the new fusions and will have the exact same values.

REGARDING SPRITE ISSUES:

NOTE: If you are offline and cannot play the game online, use the preloaded version in #downloads (Windows Only)!

If you have seen even a single custom or base sprite for any pokemon:

Do this first: navigate to the help man in the Pokecenter and go to Sprite Options -> Clear Sprite Cache.

Otherwise, your game is fine and working properly! The game can only download a limited number of sprites while playing before going on cooldown, you have simply hit the download cap for now.
If you still feel like your sprites are not downloading, ensure that you have your "download data" option enabled and your device is connected to the internet.

If you have not seen even a single sprite for any pokemon:
Your game is not working properly!
Step 1. Ensure you're on the latest version (check your title screen and compare with #downloads)
Step 2. Ensure you have a good internet connection.
Step 3. Check your options in a save, turn on "download data" if it was turned off.

The best way to farm exp is through trainer rematches. You can talk to a trainer again and get the option to rebattle them. The more you battle them, the higher the level they become and their Pokémon can evolve as well.

Number of Rematches:

• After 4 rematches, the head Pokémon will evolve regardless of badges.
• After 9 rematches and gaining 3 or more badges, the head and body Pokémon will evolve.
• After 19 rematches and gaining 3 or more badges, it will evolve again.

Hey @tawny lynx! To unlock randomized mode: Create a new game, save in Pallet Town, and create a 2nd new game. More options will appear since the 1st save is locked to Classic Mode.

Our randomizer doesn't offer true randomization meaning each Pokemon or item you find is **not ** going to be random each time. Instead we offer the below for Pokemon:
Global:

• Makes it so that if Pidgey was randomized to Pikachu on route 1, all Pidgeys on all routes are Pikachu.

Area:

• Better randomization than Global. Makes it so that each route has their own randomized set of encounters.
