normal = if a mon has a custom sprite, it will use it only if it is a "main" sprite [meaning you will need to change it if you want something else]
anything = any custom sprite the mon has can be what you encounter it as; even if it is a joke/reference sprite

an actual example

normal - run into a charizard/nidoking = it will default it to the first image despite it being an alt
anything - run into a charizard/nidoking = and you could end up fighting a rathalos from monter hunter [second image]

To change a Pokemon's sprite to an alternative one, go to their Pokedex entry (this can be done from their summary screen) and go to the "Sprites" tab. Here you can scroll through the different available sprites.

How to transfer Hidden Ability from one Pokémon to another

This can ONLY be done with Pokémon caught naturally with their hidden ability, not with a hidden ability ball. Easiest method would be going to Secret Forest which is always a Hidden Ability area, as it doesn't matter which Pokémon you get with a hidden ability. It only matters that it naturally had that HA.

NOTE: Fusions encountered in the wild with a HA will lose that ability when they are unfused. Because of this, wild fusions will not work this.

Take mon with HA and fuse it with the mon you want a HA on, and make sure the mon that currently has the HA is the body

Choose the HA, then use a reverser to reverse the fusion, then unfuse the fusion. The other pokemon should now have its HA!

NOTE: Sometimes stats will be temporarily messed up, but will fix upon leveling or fusing

On the new HA mon, you'll actually get access to the move relearner moves of the moves the other pokemon knew when it was captured in addition to the regular moves it can relearn.

The best way to farm exp is through trainer rematches. You can talk to a trainer again and get the option to rebattle them. The more you battle them, the higher the level they become and their Pokémon can evolve as well.

Number of Rematches:

• After 4 rematches, the head Pokémon will evolve regardless of badges.
• After 9 rematches and gaining 3 or more badges, the head and body Pokémon will evolve.
• After 19 rematches and gaining 3 or more badges, it will evolve again.
• After 29 rematches and gaining 6 or more badges, it will evolve again if not maxed already.

Below are the best trainers to rebattle for exp on their respective modes
Classic (Left)

• Cool Trainer Sofia outside of the League has a lvl 42 Chansey.

Remix (Right)

• Route 32 Fisherman Justin has a lvl 63 Blissey fusion and a lvl 5 Magikarp.

basically i added a shiny sprite/alternate color version of 294.315 (bidoof/arceus), problem is if I try to apply the alternate sprite to one fusion of 294.315, the algorithm for shiny colors applies it to all others, also hue-shifting by the same ratio everytime another of the sprite is viewed, basically changing all of their colors as I view them

The best way to farm exp is through trainer rematches. You can talk to a trainer again and get the option to rebattle them. The more you battle them, the higher the level they become and their Pokémon can evolve as well.

Number of Rematches:

• After 4 rematches, the head Pokémon will evolve regardless of badges.
• After 9 rematches and gaining 3 or more badges, the head and body Pokémon will evolve.
• After 19 rematches and gaining 3 or more badges, it will evolve again.

Hoping someone knows for certain:

Is there an easy way to tell if you're losing or gaining stats per component Pokemon for a fusion, or is it just a knowledge requirement?
I find myself going back and forth between (Infinite Fusion Dex and Pokemon DB trying to compare fusion stats to 2x pokemon base stats.

But is there any other source (or am I just blind and missing something) that shows how the fusions compare to the components?

E.g.
Beedrill has 65 HP
Blastoise has 79 HP

Blastoise/Beedrill has 74 HP (+5)
Beedrill/Blastoise has 69 HP (-5)

These +5/-5 are just the Infiite Fusion Dex displayed comparison between the two fusions, so it tells you Blastoise/Beedrill has +5HP compared to Beedrill/Blastoise, but doesn't indicate that they are -5 or -10 HP compared to base Blastoise. So unless you knew Blastoise's HP offhand or were checking on a separate database, this isn't shown anywhere.

Uh im not sure i understand this, but fusion takes 66% stats for attack defense and speed from body and 33% from head, and opposite for other stats (hp, sp attack and sp defense)

So since blastoise has higher HP than beedrill, the fusion with blastoise as head will have higher HP

Yep, I understand that (didn't know the percentages though so thank you for that info!)

But both fusions will always have lower HP than Blastoise by itself, because combining Blastoise's stats with Beedrill's stats drives the combined stats down. Here's a side-by-side comparison.

See how Blastoise has better every stat (except attack) compared to Beedrill.
And when fused together, the fusion is always weaker overall and there are zero stat benefits to fusing them.
Obviously you may want to fuse for move pool and typing, not just stats.

But the only way you can get this information is by checking Beedrill stats, checking Blastoise stats, and checking Infinite Fusion Dex stats and comparing them yourself.

Just trying to see if there actually is an easy way to compare fused stats vs unfused stats

im probably just putting too much care into the stats
i think the movesets + typing is the more important part for gameplay rather than stats

but it would be handy to be able to quickly see if, especially early game, im creating significantly weaker fusions than if i kept certain mons unfused.

First time playing this game on Normal and not Randomised, so the early game has felt a lot more grindy/wiping out more often.

Well I wouldnt say fusions are overall weak stat wise, fusing does have benefits since it averages the stats, so it helps mons that have a ridiculously high stat but lack in the other stats like rampardos or ninjask

for sure. Ninjask + Azumarill for instance, still has high speed even after the stat loss from fusing, but gets Huge Power that gives a huge boost a STAB move like Aerial Ace.

i think its just this early game part thats been bothering me with feeling weak stat-wise.

BST stands for Base Stat, I am assuming you are currently randomizing, which would mean how diffrent the POkémon are from spawning

You should try to read NPC dialogue! They give very good hints on how to continue the game. Sometimes they also give you items! Don't forget to talk to NPC's and read what they say.

The best way to farm exp is through trainer rematches. You can talk to a trainer again and get the option to rebattle them. The more you battle them, the higher the level they become and their Pokémon can evolve as well.

Number of Rematches:

• After 4 rematches, the head Pokémon will evolve regardless of badges.
• After 9 rematches and gaining 3 or more badges, the head and body Pokémon will evolve.
• After 19 rematches and gaining 3 or more badges, it will evolve again.
• After 29 rematches and gaining 6 or more badges, it will evolve again if not maxed already.

Below are the best trainers to rebattle for exp on their respective modes
Classic (Left)

• Cool Trainer Sofia outside of the League has a lvl 42 Chansey.

Remix (Right)

• Route 32 Fisherman Justin has a lvl 63 Blissey fusion and a lvl 5 Magikarp.

Hey! Are you having a hard time getting into the Hidden Forest or Viridian River, or are you looking for extra starters? After getting to Celadon, you can enter it from Route 16!

From the Hidden Forest, you can then enter the Viridian River where depending which tile you enter from, you will find different sets of starters as an overworld encounter. You'll hear a sound cue if an overworld encounter spawns when you enter the area.
