Hey! Are you having a hard time getting into the Secret Forest or Viridian River, or are you looking for extra starters? After getting to Celadon, you can enter it from Route 16!

From the Secret Forest, you can then enter the Viridian River where depending which tile you enter from, you will find different sets of starters as an overworld encounter. You'll hear a sound cue if an overworld encounter spawns when you enter the area.

I know it is a bit late, but the question hasn't really been answered completely.
||They do have special typing (3 or even 4 types) but the typing for those is special.||
||For the one you picked, it would be dragon as well as ghost/steel/water (not separately but in a block for those 3).||
||Those blocks of 3 have custom definitions when it comes to weaknesses (no 4x weaknesses, no 1/4x resists either), so the end result might be a bit different from what you might think.||

I only ever do really low ones of around 25-50
keep trainers and routes balanced. on average gyms will still have better pokemon than the routes before offer.
timmy trainers will not suddenly have groudon/kyogre.
and the e4 wont suddenly have a rattata.

Prof oak should give you some details after the elite 4 (you spawn back at your house after the fights there, so it makes sense to go talk to him anyway), after that you get informations on how to proceed by talking to NPCs like usual.

To dupe Pokemon, all you need is one Nincada, one normal red Pokeball, and an empty slot in your party. Nincadas are easy to obtain in both Classic and Remix. In #ask-a-bot you can ask "How to get Nincada"

Steps:

  1. Fuse the Pokemon you want to dupe with a Nincada. This will work with any Pokemon, including legendaries, mythicals, etc.
  2. Level up the fusion to any evolution level. Nincada evolves at lvl. 20. Make sure you have a red Pokeball and an empty slot in your party.
  • Note: Any evolution will work, meaning if the other half evolves under 20 (e.g Kakuna, the dupe will also work and you will end up with two Beedrills.)
  1. The fusion will now split: you'll have a Ninjask and, in the empty space you had, you'll now have a Shedinja. Both will be fused with the Pokemon you're duping.

IVs ,EVs, and Natures will also carry onto both the new fusions and will have the exact same values.

if none of the 4 tiles are grass, the chain breaks
Having grass in all 8 tiles around you is the easiest way to guarentee that at least one patch will shake and the chain can continue

The best way to farm exp is through trainer rematches. You can talk to a trainer again and get the option to rebattle them. The more you battle them, the higher the level they become and their Pokémon can evolve as well.

Number of Rematches:

  • After 4 rematches, the head Pokémon will evolve regardless of badges.
  • After 9 rematches and gaining 3 or more badges, the head and body Pokémon will evolve.
  • After 19 rematches and gaining 3 or more badges, it will evolve again.
  • After 29 rematches and gaining 6 or more badges, it will evolve again if not maxed already.

Below are the best trainers to rebattle for exp on their respective modes

Our randomizer doesn't offer true randomization meaning each Pokemon or item you find is **not ** going to be random each time. Instead we offer the below for Pokemon:
Global:

  • Makes it so that if Pidgey was randomized to Pikachu on route 1, all Pidgeys on all routes are Pikachu.

Area:

  • Better randomization than Global. Makes it so that each route has their own randomized set of encounters.

Certain Pokeballs can increase the catch rate of Pokemon based on a multiplier

  • Normal Pokeball = 1x
  • Great Ball = 1.5x
  • Ultra Ball = 2x
  • Fusion Ball = 3x if the wild Pokemon is fused. 1x otherwise.
  • Masterball = 100% catch rate.

I realise it has been over an hour, but in case you still need the answer, you can go back inside mount moon and re-battle trainers there.
Re-battles are generally the best way to get exp in this game (and you should have access to an exp share from cerulean, easy difficulty would also allow you to get exp all while you grind).

North of the bridge you will find a waterfall. Climb up to find two secret agent type NPCs around a small crater. Talk to them and they will ask you to find the other pieces of an alien spaceship. The first one is located on Route 32 near a ledge. The second one is underwater on Route 19, South of Fuschia. You have to find the dive spot on route 20 and then head east to find it.
