traded mons are differernt than mons that are half mon you obtained via trade. if both 1/2 of a pokemon are traded they will function like a traded mon if only 1/2 is traded it will function like you caught it

How to get Mimikyu to spawn:

1. You have to leave the room and come back for it to reset
2. **IMPORTANT ** Before playing the piano, use the Image below. These are the Register points for each room. Make sure to walk over those squares facing those directions multiple times for the puzzle to recognize you "Been" to each room. This is the reason for it to not spawn correctly.
3. Play the piano and interact with the doll. It will say "This wasn't here before" and should be in a different location now. Move to the room the doll is in and interact with it.
4. Repeat these steps until the doll is on top of the piano.
5. Talk to the doll on the piano and that is when you get the "Run away" sound cue. This means if you go to the entrance room, Mimikyu will be there.

-** IF THE DOLL GETS STUCK**, repeat step 1 to reset the room and try it again. Step 2 is important for the doll to not get stuck.

Hey @steep cape! Are you looking for Cut? The Cut HM is given to you by the captain of the S.S Anne! You can get an S.S Anne ticket from Bill at the end of Cerulean Cape, which is north of Cerulean. You'll then find the key to the Captain's cabin on the deck of the S.S Anne. You can also get its replacement item, the Shears, on the east path of Route 2 (only once you have the HM already). You can use Cut to access it from the west path of Route 2, or take Diglett's cave from Vermillion City to get to it!

well I turned off randomizer for a second to do the quest. I turned it back on after and when I went to use it on route 24 after getting a couple encounters, it was giving me the vanilla encounters.

...you can tho? go to the settings npc in the pokecenter, go to advanced settings then randomizer settings, and you can just toggle pokemon randomization off. you gotta reshuffle twice, once when turning it off because itll reshuffle everything, and again when you turn it back on. you wont keep the same encounter table but you can for sure turn it off and back on.

second you cant turn off randomiser, in the sense that it wont go back the classic encounters

A man on Kin island will tell you where the rain currently is. Go there and if it starts raining there or on the way, fish imediately. Any wild encounter before you fish will make you have to leave and find the rain again.
