Hey @safe ruin! Are you looking for Cut? The Cut HM is given to you by the captain of the S.S Anne! You can get an S.S Anne ticket from Bill at the end of Cerulean Cape, which is north of Cerulean. You'll then find the key to the Captain's cabin on the deck of the S.S Anne. You can also get its replacement item, the Shears, on the east path of Route 2 (only once you have the HM already). You can use Cut to access it from the west path of Route 2, or take Diglett's cave from Vermillion City to get to it!

depends. if you have a skill issue; stick to slots, they are an average net positive.
if you understand voltorb flip and can rush it; do that. and always cap out coin purchases.

VF is completely easy to do once you get pattern recognition down.
Some slots have a higher chance of big payouts (it’s pinned in #playthrough-talk )
And if you have the funds (or an infinite money exploit), buying is the fastest method

Yeah I know how VF works and know about the VF calculator, it just feels a bit slow and was wondering if slots were faster

The thing with VF is the coins start slow, but if you can keep your streak up, you’ll get more per run around level 8-10 than even a jackpot on the slots. But one slip up and you’re back to the bottom or at least close to it.

(Plus you don’t have to wager any like the slots do)
