So: plastic quality is bad, it's not s thing that people talk about in reviews, especially the paid ones. Fitting may be good or bad, mine was fitted well and my friends one was just badly fitted. Sensor is bad comparing to pretty much any other mouse in similar price. Cable is bad and not really flexible, but you can skip that with mouse bungee. Sliders are decent for 30$ mouse. It's good for 30$, no more. If it'll cost you over 30 with shipping you should look for something else

Also side buttons are pretty bad, they are really small, placed in a weird place and are heavy

they removed the Engine from their download page. And looks like they won't be updating it anymore. So you either keep the old version or update to GG. I don't like all that bloatware, I liked the simple Engine

I know that now, but the engine itself told me it had an update, nothing about GG, and then suddenly the engine was gone. Had to get the link to the Engine from this chat to reinstall it. Hopefully firmware updates are still distributed.

Was the game running in that screenshot you sent? If it was then it should say "Capturing Minecraft" up at the top where it currently says "Ready to Capture" in the screenshot. Also check to make sure GG has detected Minecraft. Go into the settings -> Game Detection -> Make sure Minecraft is listed. If it isn't, click "Add game" and navigate to where the Minecraft launcher is installed on your PC, select it, then select open and try clipping the game again

Only reason I had, to use SS GG over other capturing software was that it didn't record my Discord overlay so I didn't have to worry about editing clips and blurring them every time

Well considering that the ChatMix only has a micro-b usb port and not a 3.5mm port, that is literally impossible do to. But if you plug the headset straight into PC via 3.5mm then no, then RGB won't work

Are you referring to the 3.5mm port actually on the headset itself? If so then that's just an audio share port if you want a friend to be able to plug into your headphones and listen to the same audio as you. Using that port instead of the 8-pin micro usb port limits the functionality of the headset

It still is. All GG added was a splash page and Moments if you want to use it. If not, it's disabled by default and you don't have to worry about it. It's still the same engine

login makes it easier to sync profiles if you need to reset your PC or install GG on another machine, if you use Windows on your PC and browse the internet all your data is already being harvested anyways, and GG opens to the last tab you were in, so if you only use Engine the only thing you'll ever see is engine when you open it up

Compared to the software options from Razer, Corsair, Logitech, Cooler Master, Asus, etc. the SteelSeries Engine is still minimal and actually useful unlike most other softwares that try to be minimal but either don't have the settings you need or just simply never work at all

it may not be that bad yet, but its showing you the direction, this is only the first implementation.

they're both excellent quality, but from what I've heard, a few people's 440's have actually worn out over the course of only a few months. this is mainly cause of how it's built, the bottom layer is a thick rubber that shrinks over time. this eventually creates a small lip that basically makes it unusable, it makes the top two layers separate. good mouse pad, not good lifespan.

The newest version of hardware monitor added support for Zen 3 CPUs (not sure about older Zens right off hand) although there is still a bug with AMD GPUs that causes hardware monitor to shut off a few seconds after turning on. That might be your issue as well as the same thing happened to me

5600XT is probably the issue then. I have a 6800XT and found out about the bug when doing some more research after building my new 5900X system. Only thing is to wait until they add support for RDNA GPUs which will hopefully be sometime soon, although judging by how long it took them to add Zen support we might be waiting awhile

When using the Discord app the switching of configurations automatically is broken, has been for 2 years already unfortunately... Don't know if that is what you mean exactly. In my case it was having a macro bind for FPS games on my dpi switch and this profile should activate automatically when playing anything like CS:GO or R6. But when I had the Discord app activated the macros wouldn't work. Later I found out this was because the engine wouldn't switch profiles automatically when the Discord app was activated.

Any way to force Engine and GG to search external drives for games? It used to do this on the earlier releases and I had to reinstall 5.0/5.1 and it's no longer searching external drives

if the version you have is 5.0, there's a 5.1 version you can install over it that fixes the major issue

Not sure about optimal, but for footsteps youd want to lower some of the low mids, 250-800, since footsteps tend to register in upper mids

It should be able to capture most games but there are some (like any games downloaded from Origin) that it won't auto-detect so you'll need to add those games manually to get them to capture
