Whatever : I want to buy a new headset and i'm hesitating between Arctis 7, Arctis 7+ and Arctis 7+ 7P. I'm a bit confused with all thoses model. They all seem to be the same ! Can someone tell me what's the real difference between thoses 3 headset ?
For exemple : I watched and read test and some people says that A7+ 7P have a sound less good that A7. Is that true ?

Hi! Hopefully someone might know the answer to this. I recently bought the new keyboard Steelseries Apex Pro Mini Wireless. And i open the steelseries engine and it says "Critical update: Click to install new firmware." So i do, i have both the keyboard and the dongle connected to the PC, but its stuck in the loading section where it says "Preparing to update dongle firmware". I have tried multiple usb ports on my computer, aswell as reinstalling the engine. And even did a formatting of the pc.

Everyone I game with has said that my newly purchased Nova Pro Wireless sounds like I'm "talking to them on a phone" in discord voice chats. I've tested a few headsets recently and somehow the two corsair sets (HS80 and Virtuoso) both seem to have a better mic than this $350 set....has anyone fixed this if they've experienced this, or is this just the quality of the mic hardware?

I'm only able to get DVD quality in windows settings for the mic, whereas both corsair options offer "Studio" quality. I've tried everything from driver updates, sonar fine-tuning, etc. Recording something locally sounds just fine, pretty much perfect. But in discord the quality suffers heavily. I'm at a loss.

Hello, just wanna ask if this happens with everyone else. Been using Sonar for about a week now and I noticed that turning on the Noise Reduction feature (either Background or Impact) always cuts my mic off when I'm speaking (only works for about 2-3 sec). Mic works fine with it Off but of course there's no noise reduction.

I've tested it already while speaking loud and even just making a continuous sound. It just cuts off after 2 sec each time if the Noise reduction settings is turned On. It goes back when I stop and speak again after a second.

Hi, I have the Arctis 7P Wireless and in certain games, minecraft being one of them. The audio quality is terrible, lots of bass loss and very tinny. But at the same time whilst listening to music it sounds fine. Music and other audio sources are fine. But the game is tinny. I then switched to my DT 770 and the game audio had no issues.

I fixed my issue, basically minecraft uses HRTF which is some like virtual 3d audio thing. You create a file in your appdata to disable it and boom the game audio is nice and crisp again

If you're using Sonar you need to set the Game output to "Arctis 5 Game" and Chat to "Arctis 5 Chat". In Discord your input needs to be set to "Sonar - Microphone" and your output set to "Sonar - Chat"

I have a problem with the Arctis Nova Pro GAMEDAC, The seondary button (back button) is pretty unresponsive and takes like 50 taps to back out, sometimes it would straight up not work and I have to plug the usb out to turn it off just to get back to the volume control screen. It's the wired version, I'm playing on a PS5.

There's a sonar glitch going on where unless an external application requests microphone use, it doesn't show up in mixer. It's a bug that isn't made known somehow to the devs but it's harmless because any good application excluding gg should properly request microphone use and show that it does actually work. You can bypass this by going in a discord call and you can see your microphone appear again.
On the off chance that it still doesn't show anything, does discord pick it up? if not then that's a bigger issue, but if so then the issue is harmless and I'd disregard it until steelseries fixes gg not requesting mic access like it should

erm so first of all Sonar gaming should be the default device and sonar chat should be the default communication device. (you have chat set up right, but for some reason your "default device" is set to the headset, not sonar's gaming output).
When you do set "Sonar - Gaming" as the "default device", do you hear game audio or youtube or anything?

Welllll, every time you turn your computer on, sonar's going to keep setting your audio outputs back to sonar gaming and chat. If you disable sonar, I have the suspicion voicemod may be causing conflicts with it, but I digress, if you disable sonar does the issue persist? all your settings will store, nothing gets reset, the button is just in settings (in gg) -> General and the top button that talks about "sonar". if not then it could either be a misconfiguration of sonar, voicemod and sonar having a battle , or things just work and I'm misunderstanding something here.
Also it's important to note what I'm attaching to this probably excessively long message, notice how there's "Level" but there's also the slider, make sure the slider is all the way up and the level is set to 100% if you have volume issues with sonar.

(if not, meaning if your issue does not persist, aka me saying "if your audio does not bug out when restarting your computer")

If you go into settings by clicking on the button in the screenshot, then make sure your in the "general" tab, you can disable sonar with the top toggle and it'll quite honestly fix every issue you probably have, but this is disabling sonar so if you want to use sonar this wouldn't be a viable option but there are engine adjustments you can use if you want to adjust eq and stuff

Welllll, sonar shouldn't sound quieter. in fact it should sound sorta the same. but it has a lot of eq things you can do for your game, your chat, and your microphone. it has spatial audio built in along with gain and compression aka "smart volume", it has built in noise cancellation for your microphone to cut out background noise along with compression for your microphone as well and an eq for it as mentioned before, but if you don't need these things then you probably don't need sonar as a whole.

Does anyone have an issue where their aerox 3 wireless only works when connected to the wire but doesn't work with the dongle. I've spent hours trying to figure out how to connect my mouse through the dongle but have had no luck, even after searching the web for as many tips as possible. I've tried seeing if the mouse or dongle needed an update but nothing appears, if I turn my mouse to 2.4 ghz while the mouse is unplugged and the dongle is connected, GG just says "reconnect mouse". Nope sadly I presume your asking with sonar and that is not possible with sonar alone. If you’re asking without sonar then that is possible for a windows pc with something like voicemeeter but I can’t guarantee I’ll help with that as it’s a little different than what I’m used to helping people with.

Chat for properly coded games that are good totally not intentionally condescending should theoretically contain discord audio, zoom audio, stuff like that, but also most/some of the time in game voice chat audio and stuff like that but it’ll have to depend on the game as steelseries hands off chat detection to windows and this is why I say it should work with any good game luck of the draw mixed in with care from the dev

I've been having issues with my audio ever since Sonar got introduced. I'm using a GoXLR with their accompanying software and completely disabled the Sonar option because my audio was already fine. After the last couple of updates to GG, I kept getting a seriously annoying echo with my mic that echoed through games and voice calls (my mic settings had not changed at all), and it took me hours to figure out where it was coming from. After uninstalling GG completely, the echo disappeared; everything was as it was before Sonar was introduced. Why is it happening? I don't know - but I'm quite disappointed that I now won't be able to utilize the customization options for my SteelSeries peripherals because of some annoying bloatware they ship with their software.

im currently having a reoccurring issue with the arctis 9 headset, the main problem is that the headset will randomly disconnect from the transmitter, and well after it loses that signal it doesnt connect back no matter how many times i turn it off and on and use the reconnect button on the transmitter, furthermore it actually does connect with the headset only when the actual headset is around 2 cm away from the actual transmitter, any further than that will just kill the signal and then disconnect which is pretty annoying so how can i prevent this from happening in future

I have this issue too. I want to use the sonar mic, but let the headset output do its native hi res directly from the DAC. Every restart it seems to over-write the windows default. It seems to be a known issue for the past number of years. Generally I find SS quite painful to use. Between the DAC glitching out of GAME mode, and then random resets to sonar....I am thinking of cutting my losses and going with an alternative.

I was chilling with it perfectly, and then I hear the beeping sound (which I believed indicated it was about to die soon), but I paid no mind to it as I wasn't in any rush to charge it, I then proceed to hear the sound again after a while and of course the headset turned off no surprise there, so I then decide to charge it only to see that the indication that it's charging isn't coming on, I then try to connect via all the ports it got available to my laptop to see if I can connect to the steelseries application to check out if its still workin and the usual led light that flashes on it is just not coming on at all and its refusing to connect to the application.

Is there any way to set up the arctis pro + gamedac mic so that it doesnt pick up every single noise in my room? I could drop a feather on my carpet and the mic would still pick it up. The mic is really good, but its too good. I have to have a fan running in my room because my computer is an industrial space heater and the mic picks it up even when its on the lowest setting and creates a constant white noise sound through my mic, and even when I record my audio. If you mean you can hear yourself when talking through the mic you should disable sidetone with the base station. Hold down the dial for a second then release to get to the menu options, scroll over to audio options, scroll to side tone, press the dial to select it, then scroll until it's off and press the dial again. Then you can get back to the main oled screen by pressing the smaller button to the lower left of the dial

No one should buy this keyboard. Honestly as someone who returned and and stuck with the TKL despite vastly preferring 60%.

Anyone who pays for this is paying for a rushed product and is beta testing and essentially paying Steelseries to continue making sub par products.

They custom fabricated cheap metal pieces to go around the board with cut outs for giant resistors on the bottom.
But couldn’t be bothered sticking in a piece of foam. They used rubber standoffs to compensate for a generic DH/DZ60 plate. But didn’t bother with PCB-PLATE padding.
They put magnets in the front of the case, but rushed the product out so quickly they didn’t include one and most egregiously don’t even sell out.
PBT is the WORST quality I’ve ever seen with piercer finishing marrs visible.

Software if gimped and you can tell who ever is writing code is trying to work with legacy SSE3 which they shoehorned into GG. Because they actually don’t know how to code for it anymore.
They used an illumination tab for DKS. DKS is split into two tabs. You set actuation then you set bindings? For each key desperately?
Illumination tab is a ad like banner at the top which opens up a totally different window with no back button and is clearly written in whatever GG is written in with no reactive lighting, no complex layers, no per profile lighting. No profile disabling if you only use a specific number of profiles.

I won’t even get into the cop out of a case and design seeing the follow up from the Apex Pro TKl when they had whatever hardware and software talent still around.

Nova pro suffers the same but at least the hardware is decent enough but even then software is truly truly beta. None of the advertised consoles work fully as advertised lmfao.

That’s my PSA and buyer beware for people to do their own diligence.

if you have the dongle connected but it's not showing up in engine/device manager then it could just be the dongle is having issues, which means that support can just send you a new dongle without having to replace the entire unit

Could you please add the SteelSeriesEngine.exe and SteelSeriesEngineClient.exe to your exclusions list to see if the firmware update will be successful? You may have to reboot after making these changes. Then try launching the Engine software again to do the firmware update.

Initially the error code message didn't appear right away, I know that as much. They just ended up with a blank text box with the copy button. Even when I did get a key, like everyone else, on the Switch one I actually got the Switch control code even in spite of that message, so it's not initially clear the keys in the pool ran out by then. The kicker is that I do not see where giveaway keys can be retrieved for future reference, and I know for a fact I had access to what was supposed to be a Switch key at least. There was even a period where the app itself crashed and I had to reinstall to get back to it. I feel cheated out of a system that keeps being consistently dysfunctional while the button to get a code is available to use. Today I updated the app and this time is the only time it updated saying there are no keys without any possibility of proving the receipt of Schrödinger's keys.

Since you're using sonar, select Gaming. The Chat output will play no matter what audio you select. Only select Chat in games if the setting is talking about what voice chat is played through. Imagine Gaming and Chat as a main channel and a secondary channel. Chat plays on top of your Gaming audio to give you the ability to config volume on the fly!

For example, in discord change the output to Sonar Chat.

I'm having issues with the arctis 7p+ powering off and then it will never reconnect unless I pull the cuff and reset or uninstall and reinstall GG. I'm using the current version of GG. This seems to happen when, 1. I switch to my normal speakers for a while, 2. I restart the PC while using normal speakers, 3 the Acrtis powers off on it's own, (used to be able to disable automatic power off) This has gotten better with the newer software and firmware but it still irritates me to no end

The Arctis 1 (and 3) have a hardware noise canceling module built into the mic itself since those headsets can't be tweaked through Engine

The clearcast AI noise cancelation in Sonar is software and AI (hence the name) based noise cancelation that can be tweaked. It's currently only available for the Nova Pro line of headsets

If you aren't getting a good result with the other Sonar mic filters then I'd suggest repositioning the fan if it's on your desk and blowing at the mic or turning up the noise gate more so the mic only turns on when it hears you speaking instead of constantly broadcasting fan noise

If it's really that bad then really the only other option would be to use RTX Voice from Nvidia if you have an RTX 20 or 30 series GPU in your PC

Hello! Need help regarding my Gamedac. Why is it not possible to choose 24bit 96khz?

I can even choose 24bit 96khz on my Realtek driver and monitor,which supports 3.5mm jack, but not on the Gamedac..

So, I already used the report a bug feature to mention this, but they didn't ask for any pictures or anything to show off the bug, so I figured I'd check here. Anyone else aware of this bug where auto-clip will clip video from another game while thinking it's clipping for the main game?

I ran into this when I was playing Valorant. It was apparently clipping my other game I was playing during down time and had open, when things were happening in my main game.

Just be aware of that if you're ever playing two games at once lol. Luckily I didn't really have anything noteworthy happening during this time so I didn't really lose anything and I probably woulnd't have cared that much in the first place, but others might, so I figure I'll warn ahead of time.

I'm looking for a way to completely disable the power to the keyboard LED to mitigate this on my laptop
