Guy whenever I try clipping something I see the clip show up and then it deletes itself, this is what it shows before it disappears, it's nowhere in the install location, clips location or in the recycle bin I believe I have the latest update but Moments keeps having come and go issues too frequent

I believe so, I started using this about a year or two ago. But I was able to make some new clips today so it's kind of a sometimes occurance I guess

I even backed up the clips, deleted and reinstalled the app, then sent the clips back in and it still has the problem, tried looking online for any advice but fouind nothing

I play Call of Duty a lot, and having SteelSeries devices, I like to use this feature without downloading additional software...but damn, it consumes a lot of FPS! On BO7 with a 4080 I get around 190-200 FPS with Moments enabled, but if I disable it, it goes up to 260-270! We're talking 60 FPS, which is a lot! Are you having the same problem or does anyone have a solution?

I have all of them saved to a different location than default, so mine didnt delete, I would say, you should probably do a backup of them all in a different folder.

found it in C:\Program Files\SteelSeries\GG\apps\moments

yeah reverting to 581.80 worked for me but it doesnt work in the app, you need to download the driver off the nvidia website and then run the exe

Reverting my Nvidia driver worked as far as I'm aware.

For me the new Nivida Game ready driver basically bricked Steel Series Moments only being able to watch and edit previous clips. Trying to capture clips manually, auto clipping, or trying to do desktop capture, nothing worked. It basically completely ignored me. I went into the NVIDIA App and went to drivers then scrolled down and installed previous driver and restart my computer and every thing seems to work now for me.

noxoreits says the app didn't work for them. So I'd try their method if the app give you issues

Hi, Moments stopped working; it doesn't automatically record clips, even with Alt+S. When I start a game, I get a notification that it's active, but if I click "start screen capture," I get a notification that it's recording, but then it immediately stops recording.
Please, if anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it. I've tried everything: YouTube videos, uninstalling and deleting all the app's files, trying it with different games, and even switching accounts. nothing works. The app used to work perfectly, but now it doesn't, and I haven't changed any important settings. The only thing I can think of is that I recently changed my motherboard.

hi guys, I joined the dc server to see what was going on with my moments and I am so happy I did. I thought my moments was broken or something went wrong because I could not clip but I realized it was the new nvidia update. I followed the steps by @sterile flame with the 581.94 hotfix in the https://ptb.discord.com/channels/299040363123965952/1447133241801969665 channel :) It worked for me and I am now able to clip again. I hope it helps anyone else out!

follow this guide, quick and easy:

head to: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/
and select your gpu like in the first pic
press find
and scroll down to "View more Versions"
click it and install 581.80 like in the second pic attached.
download 581.80 and youll be good to go after a quick reset

Hello. I'm having an annoying problem with Steelseries Moments where it keeps randomly resetting the devices used under "Audio": Audio Device, Chat Device, Microphone Input all to default. This means if I don't remember to constantly switch them to the outputs that seem to work my clips have no sound. OKAY I NEED SERIOUS HELP PLS! So I recently had updated Steelseries Moments to update 101. Which is awesome!! BUT, unfortunately my clipping software will not stay up or recognize any game I'm playing! It never used to do this till I updated it to Version 100, I tried to go back to Version 83 which I had previously installed but the problem lies there too.

Is there a specific button, option or keybind that possibly disables steelseries moments entirely? If so please let me know! , I wanna clip my games but not use stuff like medal anymore.

Hi, I am wondering if there is a way to download an older copy of Steelseries GG I've noticed that since I've upgraded to version 101.0.0, the auto clipping for BF6 has stopped working. As BF6 Anti chat starts up, moments will display it detecting BF6. Once anti-cheat is fully loaded, it returns to the ready-to-capture state and remains there while the game is running. I've tried to running Steelseries GG in administrator mode, even reinstalling the software. I was looking to see if i could get version 100.0.0.

Hey everyone!

The issue stems from the fact that GG isn't compatible with the latest NVIDIA update (for your graphics card). You can either wait for the game update or revert to a previous version that's compatible with your NVIDIA graphics card.

Nvidia made a change in December that broke Moments if you had updated the Nvidia driver. This was easily fixed by downgrading the Nvidia driver.

That issue was worked on over the holidays and fixed in 102.

Some users (not all) are now having problems with exporting or sharing clips

You can probably fix the export issue by rolling back GG and Nvidia driver

Hello, first of all, I hope you are well. Please excuse my English, which is not the best in the world. I am translating this.
I found a way to make Moments work simply by reverting to an older version of the NVIDIA drivers, in my case 581.80. Now I can capture and export without any problems.
It's worth mentioning that I used DDU to remove the current driver and then Nv cleaninstall to do a clean installation. I hope this information is useful to someone.

What? The initial issue was caused by Nvidia removing functionality from their GPU driver which Moments relies on. They then fixed that during the holidays and clearly missed something that doesn't even affect everyone (works perfectly fine for me and others). You can even most likely fix it by rolling back if it's so critical 🤷‍♂️

I havent spoken to support, I have had this issue for weeks and have been manually going around it by using trimming software to manually take parts of small clips, yesterday I went to google the issue to see if anyone has a solution and there are loads of public posts on multiple platforms with similar or the same encoding issues, so I came here to look into further support, saw absolutely loads of people with the same "encoding failed" issue, and that's about it. As I said, this app has had encoding problems for years, whether it's the exact same problem as the current "encoding failed" I'm not sure. But this is a multi-year problem.

You should contact support if the issue persists after v103. The fix in 103 is for a specific issue now so it's very unlikely to fix anything that's being going on for years

Hopefully it fixes, I'll keep the app installed and try it when the update goes live and in the mean time just use Medal. I only use GG because it also has the sonar feature, so it's nice to have moments and sonar in one package rather than medal and audio software like "peace".
