i don't think moments does anything like that, so there might be another program on your PC that's deleting them. maybe you have something like onedrive that's syncing files and then deleting the local copies to save space?

I'm experiencing an issue with SteelSeries Moments. When I try to clip a moment using the assigned hotkey, nothing gets saved in my "Moments" library — no clip appears at all.
Here’s what I’ve already tried:
I’m using the correct hotkey to capture (I double-checked in the settings).The overlay is enabled for the game I’m playing.The game is supported and runs in fullscreen.
I reinstalled the application
Despite all that, clips still don’t save or appear in the Moments library. This is very frustrating. Could you please help me figure out what’s going wrong?

since moments autoclipping usually works by reading the screen/killfeed/etc, if a major update happens and the HUD is changed, it can break auto-clipping. chances are that siege autoclipping is broken now because of siege X update.

It's common to happen when you change the folder location of moments clips. When this happens it loses its thumbnails. Thumbnails is a hidden folder within the clips folder. Try finding it

If not, you should relink the clips with moments. That will fix the issues.

And you should know that there's an indication if you can clip a game. The overlay pops up everytime you open a game in which you can clip. If you see the overlay in roblox pop up, you should be able to clip

Siege x is a new game. Even though clipping is available, it might not always work. You should be able manually clip it tho

Once you open the game, it will go into recording mode. To check that, once you launch the game, if you open gg you could see that moments would have a small blue dot on it saying 'rec' in it.

This is quite difficult to pinpoint because I don't play siege x. But as the last idea you can try using v2.4 capture engine. Try using that and see how it goes. If that still doesn't work, go for support.

🧍‍♀️ Hello. I have been having this issue as of recently where while watching ur moments the tab for the mic isn't there. Before you ask, yes. My mic is being picked up, my mic is working fine.. the app is picking it up. However; for some reason! when i clip it just won't pick up my mic.

Just found a solution in task manager type SteelSeries, for the SteelSeries gg client tab there should be a drop down menu end task for all of the SteelSeries gg client tabs as fast as you can (they go away for some reason) then when you have just 1 of the "SteelSeries gg clients" end task for the "SteelSeries gg" tab. Then after that search SteelSeries gg and run it as administrator then it should load 🙂

Moments doesn't record the entire session. You can only get clips of certain events, or you can clip manually. Also there's limit for the clip length... So even if you set it to the max, you won't be able to clip your whole session.

I don't know if I'm supposed to say this or not, Medal records whole sessions. You can try it out if your game is compatible with it. Just helping however I can...

how can i know when is it recording my gameplay or not ?

when moments detects a game is running, it'll start recording, but it'll only save the recording if you press the clip hotkey (or if something in game triggers a clip) If you're looking to record you entire game session, you probably need to look into another program like OBS

i don't want to record the whole gameplay, but i thought i could control when i start recording, like i set it to record up to 15 minutes (by example)
i thought i could control when i want it to start.
Or at least could be great to see any red dot on my screen at the corner or any way to make sure the recording is on.

You can't control the "start" point, it'll just start recording as soon as you open the game, and then Moments will hold in it's buffer the length of time you have set in the settings. So if you have 15 minutes set in Moments, it'll only hold the last 15 minutes and nothing more.

besides the popup at the start of recording, the only other way to check if it's recording is to either open GG and check, or if you can see the windows taskbar, the GG icon will have a little blue circle next to the logo

They probably changed something in the game that broke the feature

There's two different approaches to automatically capturing clips from games;
Game state integration is the best option where you can get data directly from the game, zero guess work and reliable. Counter-Strike is a great example here.
Visual detection is what's used for most games as they don't have GSI. The software looks for specific visual cues like a kill feed or something else. It breaks easily and isn't very reliable

Can confirm. EA Battlefield 6, when bought on EA Desktop App, will not trigger "auto-clip" events in SSGG. Even if one "adds EA BF6 to Steam as an external game." I hit plenty of headshots over two maps, never saw a "SSGG Card" appear on-screen. Currently, EA BF6 must be bought on Steam to "auto-clip" events. Proposed Solution: Have two BF6 entries in SSGG. One for Steam, One for EA Desktop App. Would be a fairly simple fix to do that. It would, however, require SteelSeries willingness to add another BF6 entry in SSGG. I'll make a support ticket. Not expecting much to happen (my PC: 9950X3D, 4090, 64GB DDR5 6400, ss Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 [2025]).

That is correct, unfortunately. That is what I experienced. You can try it for yourself and see if you can get it to work. You would have to buy EA Battlefield 6 on Steam Client in order for BF6 to auto-clip in GG.

SteelSeries GG can automatically detect games that are downloaded through game launchers such as Steam, Epic, Battle.net, and Riot Games.

However, in some cases, games may not be automatically detected, and the game's .exe file will need to be added manually to be detected by apps such as Moments or QuickSet.

A game's EXE file may be hard to find, so if you're unable to locate the file, please try the following steps:

1. Launch the game you want to add. Make sure you fully launch the game past any launchers or server browsers to ensure the correct game EXE is running.
2. Open Windows' Task Manager and go to the Processes tab.
3. Locate the game on your list of running apps. Right click on the game and click on "Open File Location"
4. Windows will open the location of the game's EXE.

SSGG Moment Auto-Clipping Battlefield 6 is for Steam BF6 owners only. Here's the thing: SSGG will automatically scan for games to add to its "Game List." no, the files are all saved locally, so unless you setup something to access your PC remotely you can't get to them

For those that still weren't able to get autoclips, what fixed for me was setting my gaming monitor as primary. I use side monitor as my primary monitor on windows and i guess that prevented moments from auto detecting game moments. Even though normal clips were clipping fine.

Either your SD card doesn't support the speeds or your SD card reader doesn't support the speeds that are required for writing/reading

Yes! This happened to me a year ago, and then they fixed it and then it broke again for me too somewhere between Oct 29th and Nov 6th..

just note what versions have it working tbh since they seem to remove the feature and bring it back randomly at times

Hey guys. I have lately some issues with moments. Hope this is the right thread.
Moments seems to be extremely laggy with BF6 for me. (I have high end PC and play with 200-230 FPS)
Quality of the clips is full HD and high set to 60fps

So what i tried:

• updating to latest app version (v98)
• nvidia control panel settings turning off background max fps (i found this on reddit)
• latest nvidia drivers

Yet the clips seem to be on maybe 40fps or so.
When the game got released it was much smoother for me

Any ideas how to fix this?

Since it’s the software clipping, it doesn’t have to be with the games, to store the videos, so if you know how to change the location it should be fine, im pretty sure the default location is c:\users\YOUR USER\videos\ then like moments or something to do with gg

have you double checked its even enabled, and the games you want to clip are active for clipping, also check no overlay software or anything else would be interfering with the autoclipping, such as things like nvidia shadowplay

ok this may be a dumb question buttt, ill soon be moving all my clips off of the drive they are currently on so i can use it for a different system but i noticed in the actual location of the clips in the folder is missing different parts of the audio like the game sound or the microphone audio but its there in the steelseries moments viewer. How can I move all of the clips with all of the audio on to my other drive?

The audio should be there but you probably can't hear it because you're using a player that doesn't play the extra audio tracks
