A DAC is a Digital Analog Converter. Basically what it does is process the audio signal itself rather than making your PC do it through a USB port which gives you higher quality and cleaner audio. Specifically with the GameDAC, it also gives you added functionality for the headset like being able to control the volume levels of the two audio channels. Game and Chat, and gives you an OLED screen that enables you to see and set a custom EQ profile and some other stuff.

Unless you can easily tell the difference in audio quality between different headphones and whatnot, you most likely wouldn't be able to perceive much a difference between the normal USB connection on the Pros vs having the audio processed through the GameDAC. If you have the money I would say defintly go with the Pros + GameDAC, but if not then the Pros by themselves will be great, and if you decide later on you want to try out the GameDAC, you can buy it separately from the SteelSeries site and hook it up later

A soundcard has no effect on USB audio. The quality of the audio you'll get by just plugging in the Pros via USB to your PC will depend on the quality of the USB port and the other electronics on the board. A soundcard only effects audio quality if it's plugged in analog via a 3.5mm audio jack

I use the Rival 600 myself, and i do not recommend it to keep for a long time, so any good new and modern mouse would be fine. As long as you find it fitting for the game you play.

But sensor wise, the Aerox is newer, has a higher CPI and IPS than the 650.

I used one for almost a year, it was like brand new after daily usage, customisation, keycap changes and countless hours of coding, playing Doom: Eternal, Overwatch, etc...
The keyboard is really good. I only changed it because I wanted a more classic look and possibly a custom one (I work on macOS so to have complete support for multiple OSes for me was a must have).
I would say just buy it, durability is a non issue, unless you throw and/or punch your keyboard when rage quitting...I'm pretty sure no keyboard is save in that case.
One thing you have to pay attention to though...the keyboard is easy to damage with liquids because of it's open design and the nature of the magnetic switches...so just avoid spilling GFuel on it! π

On Amazon there are alla sorts of reviews: people who throw the keyboard at the wall, paid trolls, people who just use the return function to spam reviews of products which they didn't want to keep anyway.
I honestly don't trust people's review in general, I watch many reviews on YouTube and from the main outlets. I also follow RThings for some things. If the product looks fine, is generally fine.
You have to worry when reviewers start to justify defects in the products.
I make you an example which is kinda baffling to me: Logitech Pro X Superlight.
They praise the weight and the absence of holes but then the mouse cuts out: DPI switch, quality of the mouse switches, quality control for the left and right click, the use of a USB-C and a proper cable.
But anyway reviewers justify it...well, this is a situation which doesn't convince me

The new PFTE feet are well made: good thickness and the right amount of surface. It makes the mouse glide really well on fabric mousepads. I've tried it so far on a Large Neon Rider QCK, a QCK+ CS:GO LE, a Razer Gigantus XL and the LTT Northern Lights desk mat.
The mouse glides pretty well over all of them, once I start playing you almost forget to have the mouse in the hand.

No pain at all, the hand doesn't get numb neither tired. I played 3 hours straight of Overwatch yesterday and the hand was perfectly fine. Being used to the Sensei shape I use a mixture of fingertip and claw grip and I was able to pick up the new mouse without even have to think where to rest my pinky finger. It really feels natural.

Yeah, it's a great mouse! I tried the regular Rival 3 a while ago and unfortunately it was really too small for my hand. Then the Sensei Ten got released for my birthday: happiest man on the earth! π

Recently tested: DA V2 Pro (weird shape for me, the slope is so steep), Corsair Sabre Pro (a bit narrow, my ring and pinky fingers hurt a bit, pretty long mouse though which is nice. Absolutely god awful feet and software though lol). Currently testing: KPA

for the short time I was testing it, I had it on 1khz, lighting off, 2.4ghz and it would last maybe a week - week and a half. Which this Kone Pro Air can do, and it doesnt use AAAs
and the KPA is much bigger and like 25-30g lighter lol

Well, that's the problem with AA batteries. The Aerox 3 is a feather, even the Prime Wireless is lighter lol

It depends on how the mouse is made. I am pretty ok with 80g to 90g as far as weight concerns, but I have to admit that the ~69g of the Model O Wireless have been refreshing for me and the mouse is solid. The Prime wireless has better switches, better glides, no holes and honestly I've never gone wrong with SteelSeries sensors, it might be placebo effect but there's something which gives me more control when flicking with them...

I don't get this issue...I have the extension cable connected to the monitor anyway for when I need to charge the mouse and this lets me have the dongle where it needs to be on the desk. Why is it an issue? Dongles on the back of the PC are just looking for trouble IMHO. Just one more device and it's interference fest. My guitar Audio Interface/PedalBoard is killer for this.

The holes make me uncomfortable, I understand why you dislike them. The only thing that Glorious tops are keyboards for sure. Having custom keyboards for an accessible price is a great thing!
