I agree that it’s not the problem of the CPU. However I have noticed recently the steelseries app while idling in a discord call reaching 99% CPU usage. Didn’t know if it was intentional, maybe an update in the background or something else. I plan to do more research and see how it acts during gaming, my concern is it’s heavy enough to lose performance in games that utilize the cpu, like CS2.

Its not that hard, you just route audio through it, app gives audio to sonar, sonar gives audio to your selected device in it

It seems that it is not possible to import new sound presets into the Gamedac 2 for PS5 and Xbox series consoles using GG, which is in itself an aberration. We should be able to import new presets like BF6 and BO6/7 and other new features to the Gamedac2 via GG. It's been over a year since I asked Stellseries if they intended to update the Gamedac 2 with the new sound presets for new games like BF6, BO6/7 etc. I think they don't care about my request. I am really disappointed with my purchase as I thought the Gamedac 2 was a device that could be updated via the GG software.

Just delete the app; Win + R, type appwiz.cpl then right click the app and press uninstall.

Re-download it then disable the updater; Win + R type services.msc scroll down to "SteelSeriesGGUpdateServiceProxy" right click on it, properties, then set the startup type to disabled, click apply then ok.

Regarding the case "Engine" , My engine module seems to freeze at each start. I would like to know how I can unlock this situation by getting a standard start with a Engine working.
It stays locked on a loading screen.

I noticed a lot of error about tls handshake :

My GG doesn't run at the start of windows.
I can force it by creating a scheduled task, but is it possible to correct that by staying at a normal usage ? without having to tinker with something

I own a keyboard Apex pro gen 3 wireless, however at each power on of my PC, My Apex stay off, I obliged to disconnect the cable and reconnect that. If you have any tips I take it.

I have a question regarding SteelSeries Apex Pro Full Size keyboard and Steel Series Engine.

So basically I have 2 windows 11 accounts. One is my main (with Microsoft account) and has all my files and programs and runs my SteelSeries GG.
I was logged into my secondary local windows account yesterday and the OLED screen was moving at like 100fps (aka really fast), lights were off on the keyboard and when I hit a key it inputted it multiple times.

Question now that the info is posted: Does steel series have a way to know which user you are logged into and adjust the keyboard accordingly or do I have to log off anytime I swap to second user account?

My Arctis Pro Wireless hub seems to not be saving settings from GG software.

Also, the headset keeps disconnecting randomly. I thought it might be a battery issue, since they are kinda old at this point, but its not like the battery is dead when it disconnects, I can reconnect it after and it shows like 75% battery and then keeps working fine, until it randomly disconnects again.

The Apex Pro TKL profile configuration menu has been having problems persisting (saving) my meta bindings after a software reset. I created a new non-on-board profile, and added a meta binding that lead to a macro on my Insert and Home buttons. However, if I restart my computer and come back the next day, those would reset to being insert and home rather than a macro.

Solution: Make the profile one of my 5 on-board profiles.

Please note that analog headsets use your on-board audio drivers to run the headset. Due to this, analog headsets are not compatible with SteelSeries Engine and will not show up on the device list in Engine.

If you are having audio issues, here's a few steps to try:

So an interesting side note. I have my SS keyboard plugged into a powered hub plugged into the back of my monitor. That monitor is plugged into my computer. Turns out that if the monitor is on when the machine is rebooted, it doesn't find the keyboard (though it finds everything else plugged into that hub). I am going to try switching the order around so the monitor usb is driven from the hub rather than vice versa to see if that matters. I suspect it will, as the usb hub will get interrupted on reboot and reinitialize the connections. We shall see.

Before, it only turned red when the battery was low (around 10% or close to empty).
Now the red light is always on, even when the battery is charged.

I won't ever have time to do a call but I can give you textual feedback on those subjects, that way you have feedback.

First-time User Experience
It was "okayish", like I understood where to customize the keyboard from knowing where it would be on the headsets.

Frustrations
Maybe not perfectly relevant to this topic but the rapid trigger and dual actuation were quite confusing to learn and required me to go out of the app to understand how they work. It was hard to tell whether the 0.1 to 4 was distance pressed or distance from full press.

Also the UI in the actuation mode not adjusting to match the current scaling of the window was frustrating. Had to resize or horizontal scroll to access rapid trigger settings.

Finally, plugins for the OLED were very annoying to find. The OLED & settings menu only had one configuration option and finding apps that control specifically the OLED screen was annoying.

Oh and, Squad app doesn't work so I didn't get why that was listed.

Honestly the lack of options for the OLED screen was quite sad, it could have listed my discord status (Mute, Deafen, etc), or provided information on my PC hardware (temps/usage) without an app.

Hey, anyone got the issue where after closing any game on your pc "SteelSeries Engine" starts randomly using 12-20% of your CPU (in task manager) until you wont close it thru task manager? Someone knows the fix to that?

i found some fixes, not sure if it completly fix it but it has been fixed since i did this:
option one:
disable the button on the gg software (button 3) and re-enable it after one or two days

option two:
turn off the mouse, remove the batteries, wait 10 to 20 minutes for the electricity being completely drained and then put it back on.

one of the option can be done or you can do both it is up to you.
the explanation of it its because the mouse have an onboard memory and when the button is disabled (or the mouse have no electricity) it reset the firmware state and overwrite the previous changes to the "normal" configuration and so remove the bug
so it can comeback until steelseries fixed it or it can be gone forever. I hope it will you guys

yo i have been playing around with rapid trigger and rapid tap settings for comp fortnite. So anyone who has played ranked reload in the psat year knows how sweaty it has gotten, dare i say the most competitive game in the world currently skillcap wise and every micro movement counts. Nowadays with everyone having these new technologies no matter whether they have the viper v3 pro/the superlight or the new logitech x2 mouse thats being hyped. WIth keyboard deerdance or the apex pro, or the wooting/hunstman/cheap china knockoffs which r the worst imo so here i will share my current best working setup after testing with only edit rapid trigger, many different actuation points and if possible would love to here what other players have to say that are interested in comp lvl fortnite and optimizng the apex pro softwarte to the max. if anyone has any profiles to test pls send them my way i understand if u wanna gatekeep like most pros r doing tho. i gave up on grammar and formatting this to not seem like a chud so imma just link the profile now dm or respond with an @ opinions, critiques or potentially other profiles to test!

I bought a used Arctis Nova 7 Diablo IV.

There was a new firmware update, so I updated it without checking the product's operation after it arrived.

When I updated it, I connected the USB to Type-C cable to the headphones and the receiver to my PC.

After that, when I tried to check the operation, it stopped being recognized via wired connection and even 2.4G connection.

GG says "Reconnect the device."

Pressing the reset button on the earcup didn't work, deleting the device in Device Manager didn't work, and reconnecting the receiver didn't work either.
I contacted the company, but they only sent me a template.

Did the firmware update for your device fail?

It's used, and it's been over a year since release, so it's not covered by warranty.
If anyone has the same problem or knows how to fix it, please help.

GG can be used to edit the device settings. most of the software stuff is windows only so on mac you really only get the device settings.

I’m having an issue with my GameDAC Gen 2.
When I select the “APEX” EQ preset on the device, go back, and then open the EQ preset menu again, it switches to a different game’s preset instead of staying on APEX.
Other presets, such as “Flat” or “COD,” work correctly. When I select them, go back, and reopen the preset menu, they remain properly selected.
This issue only occurs with the APEX preset:
Select APEX → go back → reopen the preset menu → a different game preset is selected.
I am using it on a PC. I also have SteelSeries GG installed, but I am not using it because it may interfere with other applications.
How can I fix this problem?

I own the Apex Pro TKL first gen since the week it released. It’s not an automatic feature either. You have to tweet the settings, but it’s pretty cool stuff. I’ll enjoy it for a few moments but overall, I’m not looking at my keyboard because I’m actually playing with a controller. Hitman is some of the worst keyboard controls that I’ve ever seen in a game and even if they were good, the controllers just peaked anyway.

Try using a different keyboard to do it. But all you gotta do is plug it into your computer using the cable it comes with, then click on where it’s highlighted to install the update file. It may take a bit and also may fail a few times but it will hopefully work

Is the gg engine compatible to the Stratus + controller?

My controller is starting to act "wonky"; I barely touch the right joystick, and the characters start moving in one direction, or when I am driving in ATS, ETS, or GTA, the car or truck starts to jerk to the right. I have tried connecting the controller to maybe update the firmware, but it does not connect.

I have also tried resetting the controller, disconnecting from bluetooth, removing the device and re-connecting it to bluetooth; I have also connected to the app and the computer directly. I have followed all directions, but the controller is still being weird, and the device will not connect to gg.

If the Stratus+ does not work with gg, is there a way for me to update the firmware?

Is there any way to unlock Windows volume from 100% without using sonar and going through virtual devices?
I have zero use for Sonar utilities (EQ might be nice, but absolutely not necessary) so do not plan to create a steelseries account to use Windows volume controls in a roundabout fashion.
I primarily use speakers connected via line out on the DAC (for the convenience of not having to constantly change sound devices in Windows every time I want to use, or stop using the headphones).
This is a major problem because the hardware volume knob on the DAC only affects USB connected devices, but while using my external studio monitors I can no longer adjust volume due to this software restriction.
The speakers do have a physical volume knob, but they're also mounted on the wall across the room, so that's not really ideal to simply, turn the volume down from 100%.

Hi all I just got my keyboard Apex Pro 3 full keyboard. I wanted to assign F-Keys to open applications like Chrome as secondary functions using the SSlogo key and the F-Key e.g. F5 opens Chrome but there doesn't seem to be anyway to do it or if it is it is very obscure? You can assign to a F-key but not using the SS logo key. This is under the Meta Bindings Tab btw. I also can seem to assign any other modifier keys and any F-key. oh man, so I have the OG Arctis 7 and bought an Artics Nova 7 from my brother bc he didn't like it. Said it didn't perform the way I was describing mine worked (thinking he bought the same one) and kept shutting off. Even when listening to music or actively on a call whether it be Jabber, Teams, WebEx etc.

I started using them daily for work like he was and I see that it REQUIRES the GG software to stay on. Thing is we can't use unapproved software on our work laptops.

If you have the client installed on your PC or Laptop you should be able to configure it´s looks, i have the same mouse and today i noticed that it wasn´t displaying any of my configurations, just opening the client fixed it. I hope that´s helpfull.
