I litteraly sat in a building for like 10 minutes during the first night chase becuase I couldn't use the bed yet

I have to go with this moment when I was in the following by the water treatment facility near the beginning of the game. I was walking out of it towards a field where the buggy was when I feel my controller shaking and a sound like something was approaching, but I couldn't see it.

But then I could finally see it from beyond the hill. There was this big fuckass demolisher climbing up the hill and it charged at me right as I was getting into the buggy

It looks like they travel short distances but spread rapidly. In the countryside, it's closed in on all sides, and there was also a major sporting event going on in the local city, so they probably came from Harran or hotels in the countryside.

That being said, the more I think about it, the less I feel like these communities would be affected by THV in 2036 when The Beast takes place

yea, they're the Sentinelese people, who haven't even discovered fire at this point. They're incredibly fascinating, but contact with them is legit illegal because they're hostile towards anyone who is not part of their community and our bodies are FILLED with viruses that they've never come into contact with, so we'd kill them just by getting close.

In Dying Light 2/The Beast, the zombies are incapable of going into water, and I doubt any uninfected found comfort in hanging out with them lol

Does anyone have any theories on the consciousness of the zombies? There's 3 possibilities but I wanna go over the facts that we know.

First off, we all know that Virals sometimes show signs of being human by reacting to being injured, in which they scream actual words and cover their faces/plead for you to not hurt them. And we know that the zombies are also conscious enough to form a "hierarchy" of sorts. They seem to understand what certain zombies do and listen to others (like Howlers and Volatiles being able to command others.) They're also known for having a "hivemind" of sorts, which is able to lure in semi-infected and possibly even command them.
But the real question that I'm trying to answer is how HUMAN are they within?

There's THREE possibilities of how human they could be.

1. Their humanity is completely gone over a certain amount of time, and all of the humanity is replaced by their animalistic urges.
2. They're still FULLY conscious underneath of all of the infection, and they have no choice in what they're doing whatsoever, forced to watch themselves commit these atrocities.
3. Their human consciousness has fallen asleep and still exists within the mind, but there's almost no way to bring it back.
4. It changes depending on which infected type you are.

thv is a form of rabies, its not the typical virus where its just brainless zombies, i cant say the same for dl2's thv, might be a little different, but that's how it's stated in the first game. some things you could just boggle down to devs forgetting to carry over certain behaviors, like sunset-staring. but i think the main reason why the biters/virals carry over human behavioral traces is mainly because thv isn't a completely-destroy-the-brain virus.

the main thing is the introduction of threat levels for each part of the map, you make those safe, people will move in, hence the name; restored lands. the zombies you clear wont respawn, neither will loot.

The zombies are pretty much fully conscious. What they have lost is human sapience. That's why when they refer to the zombies as "Non-sentient infected" as if the zombies are nothing more than computer CPUs executing the next instruction at some point in the story I audibly laughed out loud, because the entire series has built the zombies up as conscious the whole time, that consciousness is just irreversibly corrupted from human to zombie consciousness, full of hunger and in some cases rage, but no matter how reduced and baseline that sentience is there is still something it is like to be, say, a Biter or Volatile. They threw away all that worldbuilding in one sentence which is just hilarious to me.

I encountered a problem in the final boss fight, basically once I died, instead of clicking on continue game to try again, I closed the game directly and when I restarted it the next day, the medkits I had at the beginning of the boss fight were already used. I necessarily had to lower the difficulty and despite everything the boss fight took me an eternity as I didn't have any medkits available and I couldn't even create them. Luckily, after many attempts, I did it.

I played new game plus on easy in DL2 and was annoyed by the frequency of virals. They weren't hard to kill it was just annoying to have them keep spawning all the time. Once I stayed in one spot just killing virals as they continually spawned from me killing the 4 before. Once it stopped I had like 100 packages of ground beef on the ground.
