Forks like Pufferfish offer an extra performance boost, I never had any issues with it and it definitely helped with my server performance. Or Purpur, adds some nice features which are fun for survival servers.
If you don't need them, or performance is currently fine, I'd always use paper though

I need a good alternative to a plugin. I need a plugin that will store an infinite number of a single item and can be hopper fed. I been using betabarrels but I have found them to be buggy and when I log out and back in into the server the number of item in the barrells keeps decreasing.

i think 32 is about the max people give to a single instance

imo speed of the ram is more important than the size of it (but more means you dont have to garbage collect as often)
