Oh, well, when we get into that:

Paper will fix bugs, exploits and dupes whenever it can, ideally those things won't be possible in a Paper server

Paper slightly changes mob behavior by default for performance, but that can be configured to be friendly for the vast majority of farms and redstone

For a perfectly vanilla experience with the added performance -- as long as you don't need plugins and can deal with just mods -- a Fabric server with Lithium and Starlight will fit more

My vanilla server is really struggling to load new chunks in 1.18 in an empty server while it used to be blazing fast in 1.17 even with around 10 people always online.
