macOS and the macOS installer have memory corruption issues under NEM virtualization. The script checks for NEM and exits with an error message if it is detected.

So if you use WSL2 you can't use that

update: temp issue was my water cooling pump was very much dying. turned off overclock and ran it and it idled at 62 celsius. tried @warm anchor's suggestion of replacing thermal paste but no change (in fact temp went up kek).
