However you can extend your runway by adding more to your nest egg. Get to $500k and see if you can work a couple more "one more years"

There's some catches. You can't put in more than $10k for a single calendar year, you can't redeem them for a year after purchase, and you forfeit the last 3 months of interest if you redeem them and haven't held them for more than 5 years. But otherwise, they make a great hedge.

They're almost the perfect emergency fund.

The 1 year lock on redeeming them and the $10k limit on what you can purchase each year is a catch, but that can be worked around by laddering your purchases.

Is there any default setting that disables porting to portals on the nether roof? I built a new portal in the overworld like 100 blocks away from the old portal, took the cords, divided by 8, built a portal on the nether roof, ported to the overworld, the correct portal was used. Then tried to portal back on the nether roof and got ported to my nether hub. Wtf?

Tried twice with different cords in case portals were too close (100 blocks isn't really close) and still does the same thing. What could be behind this behavior? Not using any plugins that would alter portals in any way.
