I'm honestly mainly using XenForo 2 because I had a really nice theme done on it for me a while back, would be a shame to waste it. Also, I'll need some kind of add-on or way to add a new page and include form links on it (for applications, reports and appeals). The forms would require a catcpha be done and the user not having to be signed in.

on the topic of default though, yes, absolutely require it; an explicit way to say "if nothing else, I want nothing to happen" is best, even better when it's one single line extra
