I'm using KeePassXC which gives you local database (there's no servers involved), then I have backups of my PC which include the database and use Syncthing for synchronizing the database between devices when they are in the same network.
So only way to loose it is to get to my PC while it's unlocked, cause unlocking it requires both password and Yubikey.

also the problem with stealing a bunch of patches is also maintenance burden. Stealing starlight would be a bad idea for example because leaf is prob the only one who can update that the fastest
