We used to use FAWE in the past on 1.13.2 and changed to WE as we needed something more stable due to us being on a production server. Our build teem needs FAWE's speed and efficiency back however, as they often do heavy terraforming and big pastes, which is proving impossible on regular WE without timing everyone out or crashing the server in some cases. That's why we always say you should take backups and test new builds. Updating once a week or so is fine. If any build really breaks something it will usually be resolved within a few minutes, just keep an eye out at #announcements

What we do is very tightly tied to CentOS 7 and very specific CPU and mobo etc.
And I couldn't be bothered to try to run a VM with Arch or something just for the sake of getting newer tooling.
So I work on my work machine -> push to my VM/BM for compiling and testing.

and it closes the connection too fast too, if you're idle on the connection for 10mins it just closes it, and you can start over
